UC560 IMAP unreachable
We have a UC560 on which I just enabled Unified Messaging. I cannot sem to connect to port 143 (standard IMAP port) from our computers. Here's a quick rundown of the setup:
Our network is on a 192.168.230.x subnet with a Microsoft TMG Server acting as gateway.
UC560 = 192.168.230.15
CUE = 10.1.10.1
TMG = 192.168.230.3
Initially, I added a static route on the TMG server to forward 10.1.10.x to 192.168.230.15. That granted me access to the CUE interface and I can communicate with the CUE web interface from any computer on the network. When I try to Telnet on port 143 from a workstation it won't connect (I get a "A non-SYN packet was dropped because it was sent by a source that does not have an established connection with the Forefront TMG computer" message in TMG when I trace the connection). I am able to Telnet into 143 on 10.1.10.1 from the TMG server, but not from any computers on the network.
Hello Francis,
It is not the UC routing which is not correct - as previously said it is TMG blocking. Which is true if everything is ok when you connnect the PC with the UC. If your PC is in the 192.168.230.0 network then you may want to try the following:
If you want to route directly without going through the TMG please enter the following command in windows:
route add 10.1.10.0 mask 255.255.255.252 192.168.230.15
This will make the communication to the CUE network directly through the UC without routing through the TMG and it should work. Yuo may add the following to make this permanent route in windows:
route add 10.1.10.0 mask 255.255.255.252 192.168.230.15 -p
If you want to enable it trough TMG you should consult with the TMG manual or expert. I assume you have to add a rule which allows this communication through the firewall.
Also I do not see the default gateway on the UC from the output of the show ip route.
HTH,
Alex

Uc560 - CUE Webinterface not reachable
Hello,
i have a problem with my UC560. Especially with the CUE Webinterface. After config my UC560 everthings working fine.
But the webinterface of the CUE is not reachable. I can ping the integtr. Service. Engine with IP 10.1.10.1. from my network.
A service-module integr.S.E. status reports -> everything OK. A seesion on CLI also connects and works.
Is there any idea ? help !!!

I have a similar issue. I know that there are many threads like this but this is the newest I found
I've wiped the preloaded configuration and now using the uc560 like a standard ISR. I've made a lot of tests and changes, using G0/0 and an IP for connecting to the LAN, or g0/1/0 as trunk/access port connecting to the LAN. I've ended up with the configuration I'm attaching. There is no way to have connectivity with the CUE. I've tried with and without VLANs (the file attached is with VLANs). NAT is irrelevant in my case since there is not anything to translate it's all a private routed network. I still cannot ping the ISE inf from inside the uc560 localy or the gateway address from inside the CUE.
This G0/1/3 seems to need some special configuration to be done in order to work. Do you know what is it?
It's also not possible to make the CUE to factory default. No initial setup wizard starts... nothing. No wizard needed for the initial setup like all the other CUE products?
Here is the config:

Hi All,
I have successfully done a lab setup on the UC540, CUE and phones are all working fine.
Ive just receive a UC560 from work for customer deployment. It has some slight differences/problem, which i am unable to rectify. I am unable to reach the CUE Module via ping or etc. It does not seem to be communicating with the CCME
Due to the network design, i am not using the UC all in box fw,uc,acl services.
Therefore, from CLI i have removed whatever preconfigured config in the UC.
I am treating the UC box as a pure CCME router as how the ISR router would.
That said below is my cut out config.
interface GigabitEthernet0/0
description Connection to idcsw01 GE0/22
ip address 10.10.20.10 255.255.255.0
duplex auto
speed auto
interface Integrated-Service-Engine0/0
description Loopback interface used to manage integrated application module
ip unnumbered GigabitEthernet0/0
service-module ip address 10.10.20.11 255.255.255.0
service-module ip default-gateway 10.10.20.1
interface GigabitEthernet0/1/0
interface GigabitEthernet0/1/1
interface GigabitEthernet0/1/2
interface GigabitEthernet0/1/3
description Interface used to communicate with integrated service modue
service-module ip address 10.10.20.11 255.255.255.0
service-module ip default-gateway 10.10.20.1
ip route 10.10.20.11 255.255.255.255 Integrated-Service-Engine0/0
The UC560 has a different port nature as the UC520.
Whatever configured on the interface Integrated-Service-Engine0/0 is mirrorred to interface GigabitEthernet0/1/3. UC520 does not have this, UC520 works fine with the identical config as above.
Due to this difference, the CUE is unreachable. Not pingable from the UC560.
However service-module integrated-Service-Engine0/0 works.
Is there any other work around solution to this?
Please adviseBelow is a snip of a default config file from a UC560 which should work for you.

Playbook unable to create an IMAP connection to server
I’m running my own (OSX Lion) server. It's working with other clients (including the Playbook browser via webmail interface) however the playbook Messages app refuses to establish an IMAP connection.
It returns the error ‘Your Information for IMAP server (domain name) has changed or is incorrect. Please check your account settings’.
Interestingly the Playbook and server are both set to use SSL but the server log returns an error that the playbook is trying to connect using an unsupported authentication method ‘Method=PLAIN’. (If I change the server settings to allow PLAIN authentication, the playbook error changes to ‘your imap server was unreachable’).
Anyone have any ideas? Does the playbook really use plain authentication, even when set to use SSL?
This problem is forcing me to continually go back to using my iphone for email.Check all the ports and configure same in playbook

Two UC560s, Multisite Config
I have 2 UC 560s in a multisite config, site a and site b have pots lines for outside access, site a has an ext range of 1XX, site b has an extension range of 2XX, and forwarders are in place on both sites to dial across the multisite by 3 digit extension. The problem we are having is that when, say a user at site a does a cfa to a cell phone and a call comes in to the number for site b, when whoever answers the number at site b tries to transfer to the forwarded extension, it does nothing at all. When the user at site b transfers to a live extension at site a and a user answers, the user who answered can transfer to the forwaded line and it will contact the cell phone. Any thoughts?
The vpm debug was active at the time of the call.

We have just deployed the UC 560 and 540 in our office. There is one feature that would be great to stop. If you leave a VM it sends it to email and stores it on the phone. We would love to shut it off the saving to phone if sent to email. Anyone have thoughts on this.
ThanksHi Michael,
Are you asking about cell phone or email notifications, if yes and you want to disable phone notifications then,
Go to CUE GUI of UC560/UC540, go to Configure --> Users --> select the user for which you want to disable phone notifications --> deselect the respective phone --> Apply.
If you mean you have configured IMAP client(for email) and VOIP phone stores those voicemail messages then,
The voicemail messages, if deleted from phone they will be deleted from IMAP client as well.
Thanks,
Nikhil Joshi. -
Emails from camera roll saved to wrong folder -- IMAP Path Prefix Problem
I think there's a problem with the behaviour of the way picture emails are saved when you have an IMAP Path Prefix.
I have an IMAP Path Prefix of "INBOX"... i.e. my sent folder is Inbox/Sent. Any plaintext emails I send from the email application from the iPhone are correctly saved to that folder and I can see them in that folder immediately via the iPhone's interface.
When I navigate to the camera roll or photo album and send a picture email to somebody, and use the iPhone to go view the sent folder, they never appear in the sent folder. For a while I thought they weren't being saved at all, but I just discovered from my home PC that the camera roll app is indeed saving them somewhere: in Inbox/Inbox/Sent.
That's right--I now have a new Inbox folder inside my Inbox folder, with just a Drafts and Sent folder. Drafts is Empty, Sent has all the picture emails I've ever sent with the iPhone.
Bug? I think so... Emails emanating from the camera app are taking the IMAP Path Prefix twice instead of once, and then creating that Path Prefix folder if it doesn't already exist.
Anybody else with an IMAP Path Prefix experiencing this with picture emails from the camera roll?
Thanks,
Andi
Windows XP ProAhhh interesting to find someone else with the same problem! It definitely happens when you send a photo message. My mac mail it shows my Inbox with a new nested sent items folder. I am using fusemail and the iPhone seriously messes with the folder structure. All sent items folders vanished for some reason on the mail server (but not in mac mail oddly) and I had to call technical support to make them reappear. I think this happened when I altered the Settings, Mail, Advanced settings, Mail box behaviour folders after having this problem with sent photo messages.
Now fusemail's webserver shows TWO Inboxes, one nested inside the other, and a "Sent Items" folder within the "new" inboxes.
Totally strange. I think there is a bug or two in the iPhone's IMAP software. Hoping for a bug fix soon, but until then perhaps a good work around might be to set the iPhone to store sent messages locally? -
Massive IMAP problem, multiple iPhones - constant spinning wheel
A friend has had problems using email on his iPhone since he got it, and now after a couple of months of no problems, mine has started doing the same thing.
The problem started for him on a UK 1.1.2 firmware iPhone with an IMAP account. If you start from scratch, manually setup an IMAP account, it will connect and get your messages. However later, you will find that the iPhone email program is constantly showing the spinning wheel at the top of the screen (showing activity), not the symbol at the bottom of the screen. Worse, the battery rapidly runs down (because it is doing constant data transfers), and worse new emails do not reliably get through. This happens whether you are using GPRS, EDGE, or WiFi (does not make a difference). This problem still happens with 1.1.3 firmware. There is so much data transfer happening (or trying to happen) that the phone actually gets quite warm.
This week after a couple of months of owning my own iPhone with 1.1.3 firmware has also started doing the same thing. My main IMAP account is on a totally different server, running a different server application to my friends. However it also seems to happen with GMail accounts (using IMAP).
I am currently at home and I can see my WiFi (AirPort Extreme) base-station showing lots of activity and I know that no other WiFi devices are active so it is purely the iPhone. Turning off the email account stops the problem (and I can then see the WiFi activity stop as well) but that is hardly a solution. Also setting it to manual polling for email helps but again is not a proper solution. It is so bad that sending emails is very difficult as well.
Even though at the iPhone end nothing seems to be coming through, one can see the iPhone as a connected user at the server end (I have access to the servers, obviously not for Gmail though).
My friend has swapped his phone four times at the Apple Store and still has the problem, and as I said mine has started as well. Turning off and on does not help, resetting network settings does not help.
Apple Mail on a Mac (running both Leopard and Tiger), and other IMAP clients have no problems with the same IMAP accounts (for both of us).
Other Internet access like Web, Stock Widget, Weather Widget, even the iTunes WiFi store work fine. It is just email that is broken.Pdobry wrote:
The problem is that Mail app in iPhone is trying to download message headers via FETCH command and does not handle properly response from IMAP server which does not support partial download of email headers. It starts asking for the headers in the infinite loop which quickly drains out the battery
More recent testing by myself reveals it is getting stuck on some messages when doing the 'message peek' to get the summary of an email. It gets the subjects fine (as the first pass) but then gets stuck on some emails when doing the second pass to get the summary. Apple Mail on a Mac does not (as far as I am aware) do a message peek so does not have this problem.
The two different makes of server I have seen this problem with do support this message peek command in that at least some of the time it is working with the iPhone.
I was able to get a debug level log which shows entries like this
\[02/Apr/2008 23:56:17\]\[48699904\] {imaps} Peek FETCH executed on message 0000ba58 in folder [email protected]/INBOX
\[02/Apr/2008 23:56:17\]\[48699904\] {imaps} Sent 1 fetch responses
\[02/Apr/2008 23:56:18\]\[48699904\] {imaps} Command 293 UID FETCH 47704 BODY.PEEK\[2.HEADER\]<1177.15207>
\[02/Apr/2008 23:56:18\]\[48699904\] {imaps} Peek FETCH executed on message 0000ba58 in folder [email protected]/INBOX
\[02/Apr/2008 23:56:18\]\[48699904\] {imaps} Sent 1 fetch responses
\[02/Apr/2008 23:56:18\]\[48699904\] {imaps} Command 294 UID FETCH 47704 BODY.PEEK\[2.HEADER\]<1177.15207>
The above shows two repetitions but it keeps on (and on, and on). Other occasions show this does work for other messages. If I deliberately arrange to get the iPhone to connect to get the latest messages I can see it get stuck on a particular message, and then even if I turn it off and back on and reconnect it will get stuck on the same message. If repeated on a later date then the contents of the inbox will have changed and the message it gets stuck on will be different.
As it seems to be linked to specific messages it was not a surprise that when this is tried on a practically empty email account the problem does not occur.
This has happened with multiple different makes of mail server (well at least two), multiple email accounts, multiple users, and multiple different iPhones (one person had his swapped four times). It does not happen with 'ordinary' IMAP client software, only with the iPhone.
Even if one for arguments sake assumes the mail server is at fault and is sending the iPhone garbage, the iPhone should only try a single specific email a maximum number of times (for example five), and then give up. This would prevent it draining the battery so fast and trying to cook itself (by constantly running its transmitter). -
I am locked out of IMAP for want of a password and I don't know what password is required.
I had an unauthorized attempt to login to my Gmail account which was blocked. Gmail wanted me to change my Google password, which I did. Gmail now works fine, but Thunderbird now asks for:
"Enter your password for -- [email protected]@imap.gmail.com:" to which I have
1. Put in the new password several times and gets rejected each time, and
2. I deleted the old password, as well as the new password, that Thunderbird recorded, several times (The only way to change a password saved by the password manager is to delete it, get prompted for the new password the next time it needs it, and then tell it again to save that password. You can delete the password using Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Passwords -> View Saved Passwords by selecting the password and then pressing the Remove button). I have been prompted for the new
password.
I keep getting the generated tiny reply at the bottom right of my screen" Thunderbird Alert from account [email protected]: Application specific password required: http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer=185833 (Failure).
This question is similar to the gentleman having problems in the Uk/Carribean, but Gmail did not generate me a new password, I did.
Any new suggestions welcome!''""Enter your password for -- [email protected]@imap.gmail.com:"" ''
on imap & smtp servers:: Change user name from [email protected] to pvedxxxxx
Try another client. Perhaps [http://www.seamonkey-project.org SeaMonkey] (requires manual configuration of accounts).
Since this is IMAP your messages are stored on the server, so the following should not cause you to loose any e-mails. Try the following as a last resort.
Delete the account from Thunderbird and then add it; starting over from scratch. -
Mail synch between iPhone iPad Mini using IMAP
This is a complex questions, so please bear with me.
Setup
I use Mac Mini desktop, iPhone and iPad. All less than 18 months old.
Mail is setup for IMAP
My mail is picked up from my ISP's server.
I use SpamSieve for spam, which puts spam in the spam folder "On My Mac"
On my iPhone settings are:
Advanced Settings for Mail,
Draft Mailbox > Drafts
Sent Mailbox > Sent Messages > on server
Incoming Settings: IMAP Pathe Prefix INBOX
Issues/Questions
Mail incoming shows up on all the devices, but when I send mail from iPhone or iPad, it doesn’t show up in sent folder in desktop
When I try and delete mail from the trash, I often get the message: "can't delete mail xxxx file is missing."
My list of accounts on the left pane have folders from my server, such as ".mailboxlist, .openwebmail, which I would like to see disappear.
The On My Mac section on the left has 12 folders like: "Sent Messages (sender accountname)" I don't know where these came from, but nothing is more current than July.
I really do not grok the logic of how these settings should be handled for multiple devices and I haven't seen any comprehensive explanations on the net.
Mail seems to not pick up mail for extended periods sometimes and I have to close and restart for it to do so. The refresh mail button doesn't work until I do so.
I am too often rebuilding mailboxes, which seems to help.
Any help, explanations, suggestions would be appreciated by me and probably thousands of others.
Thanks.Apparently you must be very narrow minded. I don't want to develop an e-mail client from the scratch.
I would implement the sync the following way.
Assuming I use POP3 on both my iPhone and my MacBook. On my iPhone mail client I am downloading e-mails and reading them from time to time and replying. There is an ended set of what you actions you can do with your e-mails. Every e-mail has a unique ID / fingerprint - you can recognize it with 100% accuracy. I'm also downloading e-mails on my MacBook mac mail and performe the same ended set of actions on this e-mails. So the system architecture should be as follows:
1. MacBook mail client queues all the actions I have performed with my e-mails on my MacBook.
2. iPhone mail client does the same - creates a queues with actions I have performed on my iPhone.
3. If I have the syncing turned on on both of my devices and I'm logged in on both of them with the same Apple ID both devices process the queues to my iCloud, compare it and update status of my e-mails according to the actions in each queue.
So I will rather wait until Apple will do this simple solution. -
What is POP, POP3, and IMAP When I Setup My Email Account in the HP ePrint App?
I have done as much research as I can do in regards to setting up the HP ePrint App Email Accounts. If you do not see your email information listed here, feel free to post it below or contact your internet service provider, phone or email company, or whomever else that might know this. I am certain there are many more that could be added but this is a rather extensive list. I hope you find what you need to finish setting up your email applications.
I have noticed information differs from website to website but as I have learned over time, with domain masking and companies buying out other companies, I just researched all the information I could find and that way if one of the hostnames or ports don’t work, then you can continue to view further into this page to see if that information is the same. At that point, if you can’t find what you need here, I would say you have done all that you can do before contacting the appropriate support team for your email information.
Most of the links are active and the ones listed below should send you directly the pages I pulled this information from but only a few of them were from the actual support sites themselves (Apple support was vague, as well as Microsoft, Macintosh, and commonly used ISPs). Save yourself some time by searching here first. I hope you find what you need in this one-stop-shop and if you get an email address not listed here please post it below and I will add it to this original document.
Lastly, as this information is from forum-based and other unofficial websites, I would like to add that this is a copy/paste/edit-for-easy-reading document I created in my spare time. This is a very long document so I do recommend using the search and find quick keys to search for the email you need but the top part of this has definitions as to what servers, ports, and hostnames are and the basic setup in case you need to know what these options are used for and what they mean.
Below are the most common settings needed to set up most POP3/IMAP Email Clients or Devices:
The following information below can be found at http://www.swestcom.com/Support/q4.htm
“What is POP3?
Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) is a standard mail protocol used to receive emails from a remote server to a local email client. POP3 allows you to download email messages on your local computer and read them even when you are offline."
"What is IMAP?
The Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) is a mail protocol used for accessing email on a remote web server from a local client. IMAP and POP3 are the two most commonly used Internet mail protocols for retrieving emails. Both protocols are supported by all modern email clients and web servers."
"Main difference between IMAP and POP3:
The POP3 protocol assumes that there is only one client connected to the mailbox. In contrast, the IMAP protocol allows simultaneous access by multiple clients. IMAP is suitable for you if your mailbox is about to be managed by multiple users."
"What is SMTP?
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is the standard protocol for sending emails across the Internet. SMTP uses TCP port 25 or 2525 and sometimes you can have problems to send your messages in case your ISP has closed port 25 (How to check if port 25 is open?). To determine the SMTP server for a given domain name, the MX (Mail eXchange) should have more information."
"When setting up:
POP - choose POP and the incoming server port will default to 110
IMAP - choose IMAP and the incoming server port will default to 143
All other settings are the same.
Username = [email protected]
Password = the password you set up when you configured your mail box
Incoming Mail Server = mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing Mail Server= smtp.yourdomain.com
Outgoing Server Requires Authentication (typically found in advanced options or settings)
Do NOT check "Log on Using Secure Password Authentication"
Use the same Username and Password as Incoming or select "Use Same Settings as Incoming"
Outgoing Server Port= 2525 or 587This is subject to change based on the individual preferences of your ISP"
Note - Substitute your actual domain name for "yourdomain.com" and substitute the first part of your email address for "user."
Email Ports
For networks, a port means an endpoint to a logical connection. The port number identifies what type of port it is. Here are the default email ports for:
POP3 - port 110
IMAP - port 143
SMTP - port 25
HTTP - port 80
Secure SMTP (SSMTP) - port 465
Secure IMAP (IMAP4-SSL) - port 585
IMAP4 over SSL (IMAPS) - port 993
Secure POP3 (SSL-POP) - port 995.
For Mozilla, Outlook, Windows mail, Windows Live, Outlook 2003-2010, Entourage for Mac OS, and Mail for Mac OS follow this link: http://help.outlook.com/en-ca/140/cc875899.aspx (this website has not been looked over for validation but may assist in other leads towards the right direction)
Have you ever wished you could use your AOL email account with something else, something more powerful, something more convenient than AOL, something like Outlook, Windows Mail, Outlook Express, or The Bat!? Thanks to the wonders of IMAP, you can.
If you set up your AOL email account in any email client capable of IMAP, you can receive and send messages easily. Even the AOL folders — Spam, Saved, Sent Items and your Trash will be there automatically. Of course, you can also use POP to fetch incoming mail in an uncomplicated fashion.
For instructions on how to assist you with this you can also follow this link: http://email.about.com/od/aoltips/qt/Access_an_AOL_Email_Account_with_any_POP_IMAP_Email_Program.htm
Set Up POP or IMAP E-Mail on an Android G1 How do I set up POP or IMAP E-Mail on an Android Device?
From the home screen, tap Applications > Settings > Accounts & sync > Add account > Manual setup.
On the Incoming settings screen, in the Protocol drop-down menu, select IMAP or POP3. We suggest you select IMAP because it supports more features.
In the Email address and Username text boxes, enter your full e-mail address, for example [email protected], and then select Next. Your user name is the same as your e-mail address.
In the Password text box, enter your password.
In the IMAP server or POP3 server text box, enter your IMAP or POP server name. For information about how to look up the server settings you need to complete this step and other steps in this procedure, see “How do I find the server settings” later in this topic.
In the Security type drop-down menu and Server port text boxes, specify the POP or IMAP settings that you looked up in step 5, and then tap Next. Your e-mail application will check your IMAP or POP settings.
On the Outgoing server settings screen, the Login required option should be selected for you, and the Username and Password text boxes should be filled in.
In the SMTP server text box, enter the SMTP server name you looked up in step 5.
In the Security type drop down menu and Server port text box, specify the SMTP settings that you located in step 5, and click Next.
In the Account name, text box, enter a name for your account (for example “Office 365 email” or “Work email”). In the Your name text box, enter the name you want displayed when you send e-mail to others (for example “Tony Smith”), and then select Finish Setup.
What else do I need to know?
If your e-mail account is the type that requires registration, you must register it the first time you sign in to Outlook Web App. Connecting to your e-mail account through a mobile phone will fail if you haven't registered your account through Outlook Web App. After you sign in to your account, sign out. Then try to connect using your mobile phone. For more information about how to sign in to your account using Outlook Web App, see How to Sign In to Your E-Mail Using a Web Browser. If you have trouble signing in, see FAQs: Sign-in and Password Issues or contact the person who manages your e-mail account.

The following information is according to a forum comment at the bottom of this webpage concerning HOTMAIL and mail server settings:
“As other web based email services, Hotmail is using the HTTP protocol for connecting you to your mailbox. If you want to send and receive Hotmail emails using an email client software, then your software must support Hotmail HTTP access for your email account. Some email clients, such as Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook, offer builtin support for Hotmail accounts, so you only have to select HTTP when you are asked to select your email account type and select Hotmail as the HTTP Mail Service Provider.”
Mail Server Settings for Hotmail using the Microsoft Outlook Connector
If you are using Microsoft Outlook & the Outlook Connector, you can define your Hotmail account just like any regular POP3 email account:
Hotmail Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop3 . live. com (logon using Secure Password Authentification - SPA, mail server port: 995)
Hotmail Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) -smtp . live . com (SSL enabled, port 25)
Additional information from this website has not been confirmed or validated as of yet but it does include additional information or perhaps corrected information. If the above steps do not fix the problem with setting up an email account for the HP Apps then read on:
Yahoo! Mail Settings
Yahoo Mail offers standard POP3 access for receiving emails incoming through your Yahoo mailbox, by using your favorite email client software. To setup your email client for working with your Yahoo account, you need to select the POP3 protocol and use the following mail server settings:
Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 110)
Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 25)

Yahoo Plus Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 465, use authentication)
· Google GMail Settings
The Google GMail service offers email client access for retrieving and sending emails through your Gmail account. However, for security reasons, GMail uses POP3 over an SSL connection, so make sure your email client supports encrypted SSL connections.
Google Gmail Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.gmail.com (SSL enabled, port 995)
Outgoing Mail Server - use the SMTP mail server address provided by your local ISP or smtp.gmail.com (SSL enabled, port 465)

MSN Hotmail is a HTTP e-mail service so a POP3 server name is not offered by MSN Hotmail. While some 3rd party e-mail servers allow access to Hotmail accounts, this may put e-mail security at risk. AT&T will not house 3rd party e-mail server information.

View Solution.Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. Thank you!

How can I get my phone to set up a POP3 account instead of IMAP?
I use a premium Mail.com e-mail account and on my old 3GS, I had it set up as a POP3 account instead of IMAP. There used to be an option at the top when creating an e-mail account to choose POP or IMAP but this option is no longer present in the 4S.
I follow the same process as on the 3GS - choose 'Other' when adding a mail account and I then enter all the details. It was this screen on the 3GS that allowed me to choose the type, but not anymore. I then click 'Next' and the phone automatically configures my account and sets it up as IMAP. After the account has been set up, there doesn't seem to be a way to change it to a POP3 account, I have also tried that as well.
Having an IMAP account is a real pain because, even though I choose to save Drafts, Sent Messages and Deleted Items on the server, my iPhone still insists on creating new folders for these so I have multiple folders on my iPhone and then I end up with multiple folders on my web server as well, which looks a mess when I log in. I usually end up deleting these folders.
Does anyone know how I can make my iPhone set up a POP3 account instead of an IMAP? I cannot see why this should not be possible on a phone that claims to be as advanced as the 4S does...Hotmail opens in a new window because the code or set of instructions on the MSN website tells Firefox to open Hotmail in a new window. I would suggest you right click on the Hotmail button and left click on "Open Link in New Tab". This will open a new tab in the current window.

Mail does not connect to IMAP or SMTP servers
For a month or more Mail has been unable to connect to my Yahoo mail account and is now unable to connect to Google's email servers. I can connect to both these accounts on my iPhone and with other email clients like Outlook or Mailbox so I'm reasonably certain the problem is with the Mail app itself. Checking the connection doctor gives this error message for the both the Yahoo and Google IMAP servers: "Trying to log in to this Yahoo/Google IMAP account failed. Verify that the username and password are correct." I copy and paste passwords from my password manager so I know they are correct. I'm running OS X 10.10.2 and Mail v. 8.2. Any suggestions?
This is what shows up in console: (maybe someone who can understand this can help us!)

Cannot send email ("IMAP" server?)
I got an iPhone 5c last week. Verizon set up my email accounts. I receive everything to my two cox.net mailboxes just fine on my new phone.
Whenever I attempt to send an email I get the following error message:
Cannot Send Mail - the user name or password for SMTP:(my email)@smtp.cox.net is incorrect.
Under "settings", it says the server is "IMAP." Just IMAP. No option to change or edit servers appears to exist, either.
Now, on my iPad, my incoming mail server is "pop.cox.net" and my outgoing server is smtp.cox.net. No issues there. Always has been - and thought it was on my phone, too.
I have deleted all of my mail accounts several times, and re-added them, only to have this "IMAP" server on my mail accounts, and appears to be what is preventing me from sending mail.A new Mac comes with 90 days of free tech support from AppleCare.
