UCM configuration export / import

Hi,
I have heard that UCM - Content server has some functionality which allows to export current configuration with possibility to import this configuration when UCM is reinstalled. Could somebody give me some hints or some advice where to find some documentation / how to for doing it?
Thanks

Hi,
I have followed the instructions in the manual. Exporting of configuration works fine. I have downloaded bundle and uploaded on the other server and tried to import this bundle. But I am getting error:
Content Server Request Failed Could not create action. Task "3999449729057561931" not found.

Can anybody help me with this?
The only known difference between my 2 UCM servers is that one I want to import the config on is 2-node cluster and the first one (from which I exported the bundle) is single machine. But I think this should not be a problem, should it?

  • Export/Import Server Configuration

    Hi,
I have multiple physical servers to configure that will have

then import these settings so I don't have manually complete each

You can either use the ear/war export & import utilities
    of the CF
administrator or you can manually copy/merge the appropriate
neo_xxxx.xml files from one system to another.

  • How to export/import configuration

I've just got myself a shiny new SSD as a secondary internal drive and I've decided to start afresh and install everything (kinda) from scratch. I've made the SSD the new boot drive and I have the old internal HD there with everything on it still.
I just can't work out how to copy all the (numerous) websites and settings across to Server on the new drive though?
Surely there should be some sort of export/import system?
    Any help massively appreciated.

I was searching up and down for this functionality myself. It's not available from the GUI (shame!)
    Use the command line:
sudo serveradmin settings all > outfile.txt
Instead of all you can also specify a specific service. Importing the settings into the new machine is done in a similar way. Look for examples in the man page for serveradmin.
    Hope this helps

i have test system i would like to perform client export/import in single system correct if made a mistake
i have export client which create 3 request namely SIDKOxxxxxx , SIDKTxxxxxx,SIDKXxxxxx .i had selected target SID as system same sid bcaz i have only one system
then i login again with scc4 create new client and login in that sap* and pass then when i run command stms_import to import all three transport into that client as said my message server gets disconnected correct me i am wrong
or i have to directely run scc7 bcaz the request already in /usr/sap/trans then these error won't occur  i have the back up of database
now i am getting error oracle disconnected
    Regrards

    Dear Pavan
I tried last night as you said i made new client as 300 in ides and copy user profile to that
when i tried to configure stms by setting CTC =1 when i configure transport routes i don't find any client number
to provide source and target client
kindly send some screen shots if u have that would great support
    .Delete the existing TMS configuration.
2.In 000 client by using the user ddic create TMS configuration using STMS.
3.Click on the system, in transport tool tab add a parameter CTC and set it to 1.
4.Now configure the transport routes, there you can find the client number in consolidation routes.
5.Provide your source and destination client and create routes.

  • Regarding Distribution Monitor for export/import

    Hi,
We are planning to migrate the 1.2TB of database from Oracle 10.2g to MaxDB7.7 . We are currently testing the database migration on test system for 1.2TB of data. First we tried with just simple export/import i.e. without distribution monitor we were able to export the database in 16hrs but import was running for more than 88hrs so we aborted the import process. And later we found that we can use distribution monitor and distribute the export/import load on multiple systems so that import will get complete within resonable time. We used 2 application server for export /import but export completed within 14hrs but here again import was running more than 80hrs so we aborted the import process. We also done table splitting for big tables but no luck. And 8 parallel process was running on each servers i.e. one CI and 2 App servers. We followed the document DistributionMonitorUserGuide from SAP. I observerd that  on central system CPU and Memory was utilizing above 94%. But on 2 application server which we added on that servers the  CPU and Memory utilization was very low i.e. 10%. Please find the system configuration as below,
    Central Instance - 8CPU (550Mhz) 32GB RAM
    App Server1 - 8CPU (550Mhz) 16GB RAM
    App Server2 - 8CPU (550Mhz) 16GB RAM
And also when i used top unix command on APP servers i was able to see only one R3load process to be in run state and all other 7 R3load  process was in sleep state. But on central instance all 8 R3load process was in run state. I think as on APP servers all the 8 R3load process was not running add a time that could be the reason for very slow import.
Please can someone let me know how to improve the import time. And also if someone has done the database migration from Oracle 10.2g to MaxDB if they can tell how they had done the database migration will be helpful. And also if any specific document availble for database migration from Oracle to MaxDB will be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Narendra

R3load connects directly to the database and loads the data. The quesiton is here: how is your database configured (in sense of caches and memory)?
    > And also if someone has done the database migration from Oracle 10.2g to MaxDB if they can tell how they had done the database migration will be helpful. And also if any specific document availble for database migration from Oracle to MaxDB will be helpful.
There are no such documents available since the process of migration to another database is called "heterogeneous system copy". This process requires a certified migration consultant ot be on-site to do/assist the migraiton. Those consultants are trained specially for certain databases and know tips and tricks how to improve the migration time.

For MaxDB there's a special service available, see

  • Export/Import classification categories/values in PI 7.11 Service Registry

    Hello,
We are currently using SAP PI 7.11 EhP3.  I have created a number of custom classification entries in our PI Development environment's Service Registry, for use in classifying services within the Registry.  I need to apply the same categories and values into the Service Registry of our Quality and Production environments.  Is there any export/import capability enabling that capability in this version?
    Thanks,
    -- Chris

    Hello Gourav,
Thank you for this information; it is very helpful.
However - the export appears to only include the entries in the namespace http://uddi.sap.com/classification.  Since that is a protected namespace I am not able to create my custom classification values there.  (I'm also going to assume that this namespace gets overwritten during system upgrades, so I would not want my custom values in it anyway.)  Subsequently my custom values are in a separate namespace that does not seem to be included in the export process.
Is there a way to configure this export utility so that it retrieves the data from my namespace, rather than (or in addition to) the standard SAP namespace?
    Thanks again,

  • Export/Import Error: The security token could not be authenticated

We currently are working in PLM 6.1.1 and users are experiencing Export/Import Issues, the error appears frequently with several users.

    1. A new token is generated from our QA environment
    2. The user logs into Dev and transfers the token

    4. In the QA environment the user schedules the import
    5. The import is scheduled however the error is received after a few mins

This is likely a DRL issue. verify DRL is configured correctly and a valid PLM4P user is setup in the setup assistant. in addition, make sure you added the new app in IIS for DRLService (this is a doc bug we are correcting that we failed to include in the 611 guide). verify you can attach and then open an attachment on a material spec.

  • Studio export/import button not working.

To import existing lar file into studio do I need to configure anything ?
I'm not able to use the export/import even when logged in as admin?

There are two ways to get to the Manage Pages interface for any community, which is where LAR import/export functionality lives. You can access it by going to the Welcome Menu on the page, and clicking "Manage Pages." If you use this path, you will be unable to import a LAR file, as the application considers you to be "in" that community, and can't overwrite the pages with the LAR you're trying to import. Instead, you'll want to access this page by going to Control Panel -> Communities. For the desired community, click Actions -> Manage Pages. Now you should be able to go to the export/import section and import your LAR.

  • How to do export/import

    Hai
Please guide me how to do the client copy -import/export method. i want to do from prd to dev. os -windows,db-oracle,sap 5.0
    1. What are pre request for that.( pre checking)
    2.approx. time for client copy.
    3. how to check the client size and dbsize.
4.test run will effect the prd system.(ie client wants to lock during the client copy testing..)
5.what are the other things i want to follow.
    Thanks in advance.
Edited by: rameshsrina on Mar 21, 2011 4:57 PM

You may want to do the client copy when users are not working on the system. For the client export/import, source system can be used as soon as export process is ready. You can use reports like RSSPACECHECK for the size of client. Client copy export/import timings depends on your hardware configuration, database size etc. You will need to decide on client copy profile before starting the export.
You may want to refer to the following SAP notes:
SAP Note 552711 - FAQ: Client copy
SAP Note 489690 - CC INFO: Copying large production clients
    SAP Note 118823 - CC-ADMIN: Size of a client

  • Export/import oracle9

    Hi,
since I do not have a good knowledge of oracle, hopefully somebody may help me to understand better how export/import work (oracle 9)
A colleague as run an export from a production server, now he needs to run the import on a test server but it fails.
Could someone be so kind to let me know what I have to take into consideration before running both commands ?
    I explain better:
I have noticed that the DB_BLOCK_SIZE is indeed different on the two servers (production server has a DB_BLOCK_SIZE=4096)(test server has a DB_BLOCK_SIZE=8192)
so the first thing I have seen in the import log file is an error message saying that "tablespace block size 4096 does not match configured block sizes"
So my first question would be: is there any chance to run export/import on two servers with different DB_BLOCK_SIZE ?
Then (due to my ignorance of the subject):
    - is there any problem is the SID is different on the two servers ? or it is not important ?
    - is it important that the PATH of "*dbf" files is different on the two servers or this fact is not taken into consideration at all (since only 'logical' data are taken into consideration) ?
    - do the tablespaces currently used on the production server have to exist in the test server in order to have a successful import ?
Hopefully somebody has few minutes to answer my question.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi,
Are you talking about FULL export/import method, right? Well, Oracle 9i supports multiple block sizes in the same database. So, it gives you an option of using multiple block sizes, which is especially useful when you are transporting tablespaces from another database with a different block size. In this case, will be necessary to set the initialization parameter called DB_nK_CACHE_SIZE in the initialization parameter file. For example, in your case, if your standard block size is 8KB, you will need to pre-create a tablespace with a block size, say 4KB that are currently using on your product server and then you will must set the DB_4K_CACHE_SIZE parameter in your test server. The DB_nK_CACHE_SIZE The parameter is dynamic so you can alter its value using the ALTER SYSTEM statement.
    >>- is there any problem is the SID is different on the two servers ? or it is not important ?
    No problem ...
    >>- is it important that the PATH of "*dbf" files is different on the two servers or this fact is not taken into consideration at all (since only 'logical' data are taken into consideration) ?
In fact, It is important that the tablespace exists in the target database and doesn't matter where they datafiles are located. In this case, logical data are taken into consideration.
    >>do the tablespaces currently used on the production server have to exist in the test server in order to have a successful import ?
Yes. For a full import method, this is very important. So, you will need to pre-create the tablespaces in your target tablespaces, but in this case they need to be created with 4k of block size, as I said before. Anyways, you will need to make some tests.
Otherwise, if you want to make a test, create a database on you test server using 8k default block size and use the export user method instead.
    Eg.:
If you have the user A, B and C using the TBS_1 in your prod database, so, create the tablespace TBS1 using the default block size (8k) in your test database and make this test below:
    PROD DATABASE
    exp a/pass file=a grants=n
    exp b/pass file=b grants=n
    exp c/pass file=c grants=n
    TEST DATABASE
create the users A,B and C and perform these tasks below:
    imp a/pass file=a full=y
    imp b/pass file=b full=y
    imp c/pass file=c full=y
In addition, give a feedback ....
    Cheers
    Legatti

  • Export/Import Corruption ?

We have just moved an application from Oracle 9i to 10g via the Export/Import options.
One of our pages now displays the Oracle error "failed to parse SQL query: ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis" in an SQL Query region after the import. It works fine in the Oracle 9i set up.
I found the error is caused by an extra carriage return/paragraph mark being placed in the middle of a function name used in the query.
If we cut/paste between the two environments by running two web browsers the problem is fixed, as the carriage return/paragraph mark is not inserted.
The problem occurs in both Unix and DOS exports.
My concern is that there may now be other introduced errors as a result, but as yet not found.

    Geoff,
    Have you verified that:
    1) you are importing the file with the same character set setting as the one it was exported with?
    2) the DAD character set settings are properly configured?

  • Export-Import and Naming convention question

    All,
Newbie here. Have a question related to the naming convention for SAP R/3 system and XI manual export/import process. We are currently in the development environment where our R/3 systems are named as D55CLNT400, D56CLNT300 etc (first 3 characters are the system id, and last 3 are the client number.) This is per the XI best practices convention.
The question i have is - if we name the technical system as above - and export the configuration objects from the Dev to Test environment - where the R/3 systems are named as T55CLNT400, T56CLNT300 (similar naming structure). Does it mean that we need to manually change almost all of the items in the Test environment on the configuration side (like business sytem name, interface determination, receiver determination etc)
Is this the correct way or are we missing something??? I would have preferred a way - where we needed to only update the communication channel parameters.
    Thanks.

In the SLD, create three Business System Groups: DEV, QAS and PRD.
In each of these groups, you must have the relevant application servers (in your case, R/3s) and one integration server (XI).
Then, for each Business System in Group DEV, define a transport target in QAS group.
In your case, the transport landscape should be like this:
    D55CLNT400 -> T55CLNT400
    D56CLNT300 -> T56CLNT300
    XI_DEV -> XI_QAS
Do the same for the QAS group (defining transport targets in PRD group). Observe that you need to have the same number of Business Systems in each group for this to work properly.
Now, when you transport your configuration objects from XI_DEV to XI_QAS, all the Business Systems in DEV landscape will be replaced for the equivalent ones in QAS landscape.

  • Export/import of mappings using OMBPLUS and Collections?

    Hi,
We've got some good TCL code to export (and import) mappings for our projects along the lines of:
    OMBEXPORT MDL_FILE '$projname.mdl' \
    PROJECT '$projname' \
    CONTROL_FILE '$controlfile.txt' \
    OUTPUT LOG '$projname.log'
and now we're moving to organizing mappings by OWB COLLECTION and need to export/import by collection instead. Thought it might be as simple as this:
    OMBEXPORT MDL_FILE '$collname.mdl' \
    FROM COMPONENTS ( COLLECTION '$collname')
    CONTROL_FILE '$controlfile.txt' \
but that's not working (saying "Project $collname does not exist.", so it seems to still be treating what I thought was a collection name as a project name . Can someone point out the right syntax to use COLLECTIONs in OMBEXPORT/OMBIMPORT?
    All thoughts/tips appreciated...
    Thanks,

  • Export/Import from 7.5 to 7.6 and COLUMNCOMPRESSION

    Hello,
I exported a content server on MaxDB 7.5, Win 32 bit, and am trying to import it to MaxDB 7.6, Win 64 bit, both with loadercli 7.6.
I am getting this error in loader.log:
    // E -25345:     Definitions of source and target table COMPONENTS0001 do not match;
//          length type of column "NAME": source = variable length long, target = variable length
//          Make sure that the database parameter COLUMNCOMPRESSION has got the same value in the source and target databases.
//          If the source database version is < 7.6 and the target database version is >= 7.6, the parameter COLUMNCOMPRESSION must be set to NO in the target database..
// E -25342:     Error restoring table COMPONENTS0001; table exists but source table schema and target table schema are different
    However COLUMNCOMPRESSION is set to NO;
I tried restarting the system, I also tried dropping and recreating user SAPR3 in the target system, in order to switch DEFAULTCODE from ASCII to DEFAULT, as in the source system, but the same result.
_UNICODE is YES on both systems.
    What could be wrong here?
    regards

    Hello Lars,
    thanks for your help.
Yes I know that I don't need to perform the system copy via export/import. You told me so in another thread  I opened some time ago.
This now is more kind of exercise, in order to learn more about various options.
I also read about upgrades in the meantime. But there also are some things that are not quite easy for our configuration; I think I will start another thread with an upgrade question soon.
And by the way, forgot to mention that I had dropped and recreated tables several times when COLUMNCOMPRESSION definitely was NO.
