UCS Director API call Help
Hello All,
I am trying to access UCS director API from a webpage to perform GetAllVMs operation but it is throwing Error "401, unauthorized". I believe it has something to do with the Key Value pair I am passing.
Can someone show me an example on how to execute operation by passing key in the request header. I checked the developer's guide but example has not been provided htere.
Apologies in case I posted this under wrong topic/category as I had difficulty browsing this site.
Hi
Please check following link may be useful.

Hello,
I am here because I have exhausted my Coldfusion/Java ssl keystore certs trouble shooting abilities. Here is the issue. I am developing a Coldfusion 11 application that must make api calls to Chase payconnexion SOAP services. I am using the coldfusion cfhttp tags to do this, which is using the java jre 1.7.x to accomplish this. The problem, I am getting generic 500 internal server errors from Chase. They claim that I am not sending a cert during the ssl exchange. What I have done is:
- put our wildcard cert/key pair in the coldfusion keystore
- put our root and chain in the keystore
- put the chase server cert in the keystore
- converted the key/crt files to .pfx and make the calls
to chase with those, something like:
<cfset objSecurity = createObject("java", "java.security.Security") />
<cfset storeProvider = objSecurity.getProvider("JsafeJCE")/>
<cfset Application.sslfix = true />
<cfhttp url="#chase_api_server#/"
result="http_response"
method="post"
port="1401" charset="utf-8"
clientCert = "#cert_path#/#cert_file1#"
clientCertPassword = "#cert_password#">
<cfhttpparam type="header" name="SOAPAction" value="updateUserProfileRequest"/>
<cfhttpparam type="header" name="Host" value="ws.payconnexion.com" />
<cfhttpparam type="xml" value="#trim(my_xml)#"/>
</cfhttp>
Here is what I see in the Cf logs, can anyone help me interpret what
is happening ??
Thanks,
Bob

Pls help! SAP api calls...?
Hi, I have a question about the SAP Portal framework. For example, if I created an edit page for editing portlets, is there an api call that I make to tell SAP portal that I am on edit mode so that portal will subsequently save the changes to perhaps an xml file? Maybe there is a edit_mode variable ?
Any suggestions or sample code is greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much!
Baggett.Hi Baggett,
quite unsure what you mean.
> I created an edit page for editing portlets
Does this mean a component for editing iView parameters?
> is there an api call that I make to tell SAP portal
> that I am on edit
If this is the case, your implementation should have been called by the framework in before.
See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/30/e5fc40b3c7fa6fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm and custom personalization of iview and PersonalizationClass and EP6 for details.
If I'm totally wrong with your issue, please come back with some more precise information.
Hope it helps

My app seems to consume an enormous amount of API calls every day? Please help!
I am tired and sad and frustrated here, and feel like a total moron. I am very sorry if my post is too long and not very well put together, but im beggin anyone with some experience here to please give me some advice.
I am currently testing out a app I have created to let people add events, search for events, comment on and get notified about changes in events they have signed up for. I have used Azure Mobile Service for this, and it all seems to have worked well. This is
mostly a learning app for me, since I am very much a noob.
Now we are nearing launch of the app, and I have started to look at the numbers in Azure. I am on the free version right now, where 16k api calls a day are free (will move to priced tier on launch) - but the numbers look completely off the hook here!
Every day 2-3 devices seem to run up 600-700 API calls. I do run the testing app hard, of course, but I guess some user might do that to.
So - 4% of the daily free calls are consumed by 3 devices. That means 33 users could fill the quota, and the first paid tier only gives room for 300 users.
Am I reading something wrong here? Is my app then not viable? I think it, even with my noobness, has a potentil to get a few thousand users. Does that mean Im gonna have to go to the top tier? Because I can not afford that.
Over to the stack part of the question:
I log the user in, I create the tables, and then when they hit search I do something like this:
eventenItemList = await eventenTable.Take (200).Where (item => item.Dateandtimeend >= DateAndTimeIn).
Where (item => item.Dateandtime <= DateAndTimeInEnd).
Where (item => item.Fylke == fylke).
Where (item => item.Pris <= MaksPris).ToListAsync ();
I would expect that to be a single API-call, but it seems to run up tens of calls - just there? How is that possible?
When the user is not in the app, I run a background service in Android that goes through a local db of events the user has created and then checks against the db for any changes to them. I do that like this:
var table = db.Table<MyEvents> ();
foreach (var e in table) {
eventenItemList = await eventenTable.Where (item => item.Id == e.EventId).ToListAsync ();
if (eventenItemList.Count == 0) {
} else {
//I here notify the user that something new is up - and what it is. Time changed, comments or whatever.
Im guessing this is stupid of me, since it probably makes one API call for each loop here? But in the numbers it just seems to do 2 calls - like I expect it to.
I am horribly lost here, people. I ran around a hundred random clicks around the app this evening - and racked up over 1500 api calls. I have been cold sweating since that. Any advice or info about how this api call-system works would be very much appreciated.Replying here in case someone else stumbles upon this post. Hi,
i cloned the task "OVF Import to VMware Cloud" from task library.
if i use this cloned custom task within a workflow, it doesn't deploy a ovf template.

OliverHi, in response to your questions:
1. software bug on UCS Director 5.0.0.0 or 5.0.0.1.
I have managed to connect vCenter 5.1 in our environment so don't think it's related to this
2. unsupported vCenter 5.5U2 integration with current / latest UCS Director software
The compatibility matrix mentions 5.5, however it doesn't specify if that includes U2 or not, perhaps you could send a screenshot of the configuration as you have it when trying to complete the addition of the virtual account?
3. no UCS Director pod license. I saw there is no small/medium/ enterise pod licence so this might be an issue.
Not too familiar with the breakdown of the licensing unfortunately as we have a complete license implemented in our environment, although I would expect vCenter licenses to be part of the base licensing model -
HTTP REST API call to CPSC 10.x from an external system
Hi,
I would like to know the below items.
Is it possible to connect with the CPSC 10.x from an external system via HTTP REST API call to process a request and complete a task?
Is it possible to create a new ticket / request in CPSC for a specific service via the HTTP REST API call?
One of the use case is to know how many requests are pending in a queue via a HTTP REST API call? How to pass a queue name in the HTTP REST API call to get the result? These kind of custom piece is not available in the integration guide.
Is there any specific REST API guide available which Cisco provides for the REST capability in CPSC?
Any help is highly appreciated!
Thanks.When a task is invoked from a service catalog request to an external system, the request remains open and the task is pending until the external system issues a call to complete the task. The API for completing the task is SOAP-based. Check out the Cisco Prime Service Catalog Integration Guide. Within the doc, go to the section about "Web Service Listener Adapter" for the WSDL.
You can order a service within Prime Service Catalog with a SOAP call, which is also documented in this same document. Starting with Prime Service Catalog 10.1, you will have a way to order a service via a REST API.
Existing REST APIs are also documented in the integration guide. -
API call that will list the meetings of employees that are assigned to a manager
Hi,
What is the API call that will list the meetings of employees that are assigned to a manager? The manager will be logged in and when I use the API call:
http://[serverid]/api/xml?&action=report-my-meetings&principal-id=[##]
I always get the same results which is a list of the meetings for the manager. If put the id of the employee, I still get the managers meetings.
I have looked through all of the API documentation and cannot find which call I could make to get the results that I want. The documentation specifically says that report-my-meetings provides information about meetings that the logged in user is scheduled to attend. So how do I get the information for the managers employees?
What is needed is the Name, Duration, and Start Time of all meetings that the employee is enrolled in who is assigned to the manager that is logged in.
Thanks for any help with this!I posted this in the wrong forum and have moved it to the XML forum.

Human Task Bulk API calls from ADF Entity Object
Dear all,
Jdev: 11.1.1.7.1
We have a requirement where in human task APIs need to be invoked on status changes of an ADF Entity (EO). We presently achieve this in the afterCommit() method and all is well.
But we are looking to leverage the Human Task bulk update APIs and am wondering how to do that.
The EO does support a batch mode - Is there a batch mode API that we can override to place the bulk update API call?
Thanksin version 11.1.1.6 getInputStream() and getContent() do not work, this is know bug you can find in the oracle support at
https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/ui/km/SearchDocDisplay.jspx?_afrLoop=175895926830291&type=DOCUMENT&id=1451100.1&displayIndex=8&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=tlzphlagm_69
there you can find a .zip file with a full example code.
Actually Oracle does not consider it a bug:
"This issue was reviewed by Engineering in Bug 13873092 and is not considered a bug. There is a workaround to retrieve task contents through 'WFTaskUpdate' Servlet as described in the attached Sample project."
but in my opinion it is a very big bug endeed, and it drove me mad for days! :(
Anyway here is a snippet with the workaroud in case you do not have access to the oracle support site:
if att is you attachment and wfContext is your workflow context set somewhere
AttachmentType att;
IWorkflowContext wfContext;
instead of doing this
InputStream inputStream = att.getInputStream();
do this
String contextId = wfContext.getToken();
String attachmentURL = WFUtils.getTaskUpdateURL(att.getTaskId(), contextId, "" + att.getVersion(),att.getName(),
Constants.WFTASK_QUERY_ATTACHMENT_BUTTON_KEY_NAME);
if ( attachmentURL == null ) {
System.out.println("Unable to generate URL to get attachmentcontent");
try {
URL url = new URL(attachmentURL);
URLConnection conn = url.openConnection();
InputStream inputStream = conn.getInputStream();
} catch ( Exception e ) {
e.printStackTrace();
hope this helps

Timeout when calling long running Oracle Apps Adapter API calls
When making a Oracle Apps Based adapter from ESB, Transactions are getting timedout for running calls (~ > 5 mins)
1) Created a Oracle Apps Adapter to execute a API call that returns, in our case, customer data.
2) Created a BPEL Which invokes this API based Adapter via. a partner link.
3) Following errors for calls which take ~ >5, transaction is timeout, when invoked from BPEL/ESB/SOAP UI Client.

Timeout when calling Oracle Apps Adapter API calls.
1) Create a Oracle Apps Adapter to execute a API call that returns, in our case, customer data.
2) Create a BPEL Which invokes this API based Adapter via. a partner link.
Observations:
A) Posts the following errors for calls which take ~ >5, transaction is timeout, when invoked from BPEL/ESB/SOAP UI Client.

What are the SAP api calls...
Baggett.Hi Detlev, if you have some time, if possible, can you take a look at EP Content Development question: <b>"Where is admin config page ? ..."</b> Any help is very appreciated!

Cisco UCS Director Foundation (UCSDF) 5.0 Training
Hello Community,
Can anyone help me where i can attend the following Training for (( Cisco UCS Director Foundation (UCSDF) 5.0 )) as i can not find a schedual in CISCO training locator .. It is highly important for me as i have an implementation soon and i need to get its knowledge .
Thanks & Best Regards ,
Mostafa ElgindyMostafa,
I think you'll have a little problem getting this running. There is huge interest in this topic but to be fair, Cisco has only just now (the past two weeks) released the 5.0 course materials to the instructors. So far as I know, me and two other instructors are the only instructors in Europe which are both certified to teach this class as well as actually have hands on experience with Director. In addition, we can't as instructors get our hands on the actual product outside of dCloud to actually update our knowledge for v5.0 because of the insanely stupid terms involved.
I have been asked three times so far to deliver this course. I've said no 3 times. I wouldn't even consider it without a few weeks to prepare, so I personally won't deliver it before March. There are some guys who like reading slides that will do it sooner, but you may have issues with getting questions answered. -
Oil 5.2:No SCORM API calls in java trace file
Hi,
I am running a java trace for SCORM 2004 course. I don't see any SCORM api calls or cmi variables in the java trace (initialize(""), setvalue, getValue etc..). The course is set to tracked and the DEBUG is ON. Is the SCO communicating with the LMS?
I have tested other SCORM 2004 courses, and they do show api calls in the java trace file.
Oracle ilearning 5.2; Course: SCORM 2004
Appreciate your help.
SudScott,
I have used Forefox v20, java6 and the firebug for debug purpose. I didn't see any errors in the console. But, I did find some lines in red (errors) under DOM tab. Here is the output.
g_strAPIInitFailed "Found API but LMSInitialize failed."
g_strAPINotFound "Management system interface not found."
g_strAPISetError "Trying to set value but API not available."
g_strAPITooDeep "Cannot find API - too deeply nested."
g_strAPIVersion "cmi._version"
g_strDisableErrorMsgs "Select cancel to disable future warnings."
g_strFSAPIError "LMS API adapter returned error code: "%1"
When FScommand called API.%2
with "%3""
Thanks

PART_1
==================================
Hi,
I'm working at third party system which by API communicate with BC and in short:
1) create an order with specified products for specific customer) etc. at BC account ofcourse (works fine)
2) Make the payment using one of the payment gateway (defined in BC Payment gateway section)
a) SecurePay, or (works fine)
b) Paypal Website Standard (problem)
I found a litttle problem in API call to make the payment using paypal website standard (to be presice in case of Paypal option actually the user should be moved to the paypal website so the system should generate some link i think which will have some data which identify payment for specific order). I tried to use the Order_PaymentProcess (https://worldsecuresystems.com/catalystwebservice/catalystcrmwebservice.asmx?op=Order_Paym entProcess)
call but it looks it can't be done?
Please note the payment with this call using credit card details cause successfully use the SecurePay Payment gateway. Is here anyway who know the trick how to force (and what parameter should be used) to
make the payment using Paypal Website Standard?
And Yes I tried to obtain some additional documentation from BC support but without success (They said they are working at the new version of it... about 2 years ago they said they probably will prepare more detailed documentation ).
==================================
PART_2
In case if there is no possible to use the API call to force using the Paypal Website Standard is there any workaround of this?
I mean is it possible to move the user to the paypal site but in post data set some value which can be handled directly by the BC after making the payment at paypal site, so the BC then could for specific order automatically register this operation after paypal send the successfull payment notification?
==================================
PART_3
The third part is the question how to force by API call BC to send the invoice to the customer after the order will be created (and before making the payment).
The invoice is actually created only when the Order_PaymentProcess call will be finished with success (and the option "emailInvoiceToCustomer" will be set to true).
Is there any way to do that?
==================================
When You will answer please set note of what part is that answer.
Thanks for advice!Dude, I don't know what you're saying. There's too much text and too much code, and the code is unformatted. When you post code, please use
and
tags as described in Formatting tips on the message entry page. It makes it much easier to read.
However, based on the subject of your post, there's one thing I can say: If your key's state changes in a way that can affect the value of its hashcode, then you'll have to remove and re-add that key/value pair. Since the hashcode determines which subset the HashMap searches though to find your key, if your key doesn't have the same hashCode it has when you put it into the map, then the map will search the wrong bucket for your key.
If that doesn't help, please try to provide more concise, formatted code and a more concise explanation of the problem. -
Api call to verify an expression
Is there any api call to verify (validate) an expression that I can use in CVI? Similar to the check button on the left side of the textbox when entering an expression.
Thanks for the help.
--Aaron.Aaron,
You can use either:
Engine.CheckExpression
or
Expression.Validate
In CVI you will use the Engine method as follows:
int __declspec(dllexport) __stdcall MyEntryPoint (CAObjHandle context)
CAObjHandle tsEngine = 0;
char* expression =0;
char * errDesc =0;
long startPos;
long endPos;
VBOOL isValid = VFALSE;
TS_SeqContextGetEngine(context, &errorInfo, &tsEngine);
TS_EngineCheckExpression (tsEngine, &errorInfo, context, expression, &errDesc, &startPos,&endPos, &isValid);
CA_DiscardObjHandle(tsEngine);
CA_FreeMemory(errDesc);
