UCS KVM Manger Security Prompt

Since setting our UCS Manager to use HTTPS, we get security prompts when opening the KVM manager.
After doing some traces, it looks like the KVM manager makes the following HTTP calls:
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/pub/swz/crossdomain.xml
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/crossdomain.xml
As a result, the HTTPS verion of the KVM manager prompts saying there is unsecured content (the HTTP calls) on the page.
It's not a huge deal to hit yes or no to get past it, but it seems like some lazy programming.
Any ideas on if this will get fixed?  The fpdownload.adobe.com pages are available in HTTPS which would fix the issue.
We are running 1.4.1j.

OK...here's a link to the Cisco Bug Toolkit:

I just opened CSCtn08512.  Might be a bit until it is viewable.  Of course, I could have missed an existing bug and it might be scrapped.
Hope that helps!

  • Silent Print and Annoying Printing Security Prompt

    Hello all,
    I finally managed to get my silent print JavaScript to work but I can’t figure out how to get rid of the annoying security prompt "This document is trying to print. Do you want to allow this?". I tried adding the JavaScript folder to the trusted sites under Security (Enhanced) but I am still being nagged with this prompt. Is this feature only for PDF files or can it be used for JavaScript files? I added a button so the user can just click and the PDF document will save in a specified location using PDFCreator. Yes, I know it is strange that I am printing a PDF file to a PDF but I have my reasons. Is it possible to get rid of this message or am I going to have to put up with it. Here is my code:
    function silentprint()
    var pp = this.getPrintParams();
    pp.interactive = pp.constants.interactionLevel.silent;
    pp.printerName = 'PDFCreator';
    this.print(pp);
    function toolbar()
    app.beginPriv();
    app.addToolButton({
    cName: "myToolButton",
    cLabel: "Flatten Active Form",
    cExec: "silentprint();",
    cTooltext: "Click to flatten active form.",
    cEnable: true,
    nPos: 0
    app.endPriv();
    toolbar();

    Hi Shawnny,
    Here are a few points:
    You can (or should be able to) bypass the security warning on your machine.
    There is no way you can set up the doc so other users won't see that warning. Security prefs are on by default.
    Setting up a privileged location should work. Try trusting the file and/or the folder on your machine.
    If that doesn't work, choose to Trust Always from the yellow message bar.
    If that doesn't work, look at the registry and see if you file is indeed trusted for silent printing and JavaScript. Details here: 9   Trust Methods — Acrobat Application Security Guide. Feel free to post your registry prefs here.
    The last option is un-check Enhanced Security in your preferences.

  • UCS KVM

    hi,
    I am developing firewall rules for UCS KVM console connection.The firewall is deployed between end-user and UCS mgmt 0.
    but i am not sure that the destination should be for the firewall rules. (source (end user) ->destination tcp 2068)
    destination: ucs mgmt IPs + cluster ip or ucs manager blades ext-mgmt ip pool?
    please help to confirm.
    thank you very much!

    Destination IP = mgmt IP pool range indeed.

  • Some data connections only work if security prompts are manually clicked

    I am currently working on a PO form for our company and have run into a bit of a snag. I have one one database with two tables that populate a list of vendors and a list of PO #'s.
    On the form is a Get PO button that connects to the databse, gets the first available PO # that is available, updates the record to in use and addes a unique ID # (generated off the curren time of when the button was clicked) and then does another connection to the same database to get the PO  where the # = to that of the unique ID.
    Here is my problem. With the data connection, you get those prompts about this file is attempting to access the following database. If you click yes to them (first when the doc opens - two more come up when clicking the Get PO button) the form works exactly as intended. No problems
    Now if you check the box to remember this choice, and click yes to any of them, the PO # no longer gets displayed in the box. The database is being updated properly, but the subsequent connection with the select statement does not work.
    I have added the files as trusted sources with the same results. The only way the database is update and the number is displayed is if all data connection prompts are clicked yes each and every time.
    Any help would be appreciated. If it is needed I can update this post with the code I am using, but I am thinking this is more of a settings issue somewhere than it is with my code.
    Thanks
    Brian

    It looks like I figured out the cause, and it only sort of had to do with the security prompts. Apparently, the second connection was occuring before update was completing in the access database. The only reason it would work when clicking the prompts was it allowed an extra second or so for the update to happen, then run the check to get the next number. I somewhat adjusted for this by putting a timeout in the code, which I dont really like, but even a delay of 500 milliseconds makes it work.

  • Is it possible to disable security prompts on AT&T BlackBerry Curve???

    Hello all. I wrote an SMS application that successfully works on my BlackBerry 8310 (on AT&T Wireless). However, everytime I run the application, I get this annoying security prompt that says, "application <my application> has attempted to access the network. Would you like to allow this?". Is there any way I can get rid of this, as it has become VERY tedious to answer this prompt everytime I run the application. I have already gone into options-->advanced options-->permissions and have set everything to "allow" for my application with no success. I've been reading up on this subject and my first inclination would be to assume that it may not be possible due to AT&T/Cingular locking down the phone via the security domain built into the handset:
    (http://developer.att.com/developer/printArticle.jsp?detailId=11300207)
    However, I have read in some places that people were hacking their j2me_domain_registry.sm file with some limited success. I did not see that anyone did this with a BlackBerry though. Has anyone had any experience or know of a way to achieve this. I don't even know how to go about finding this file on the BlackBerry as all the examples deal with non-GSM (CDMA) phones and they primarily deal with Motorola V3XX series. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    You should be able to get rid of this message by enabling firewall. Click on options then security then firewall. Enable and save.

  • UCS - Disjoined L2 - Security

    I havent seen much documents on Disjioned L2 UCS deployment (on security). We have a UCS chassis (5108) and have few B230s on it.. We want to use the same chassis both for internal LAN and DMZ.
    Obviously the first question that comes in is security -  We know that UCS in EHM doesnt act like a switch (with regards to unicasts & broadcasts), but is the design secure enough - logically and physically ? Has anyone come across any security limiations with disjoined L2 ?
    Our thinking was -
    1) Isolation is anyway done on link going from FI to upstream switches - internal LAN VNICs go through a different PINNED uplink than DMZ
    2) Should we consider seperate blades for DMZ ? or running both DMZ and internal on the same blade is fine (with different Vswitches) ?
    3) How about the links going from 2204 FEX to FI ? I know that the VNICs are built upon automatically generated port channels - but is it possible to use 2 different sets of links for internal and DMZ ?
    Regards
    Raj

    I guess it all depends on the organizations security posture. I am finding gov't institutions slow to adopt the segregation mechanisms that UCS and the Nexus products provides, mostly a result of their lack of understanding of the technology and how it's implemented.
    Some people have issues with “mixing” data in the FIs from the different zones. On the other hand, financial institutions seem to be more willing/understanding of the technology in question. But we still see clients requesting physical hardware separation in the DMZ.
    The current implementation of the L2 disjointed works quite well but requires some planning when configuring your vNICs. As you know by default, all VLANs are accessible by all ports. Disjointed L2 is similar to “switchport trunk allow” in the switching world.

  • UCS KVM Launch Manager failing

    Hello folks,
    I currently have a problem with the KVM Launch Manager on UCS Manager 1.4.1i. When I press the KVM Launch Manager link, I get an errorcode #2032. However, I can't figure out, what this errorcode means and I can't get the KVM to work at all.
    Hope to hear from anyone with experience in this problem,
    Regards,

    If changing the domain on the UCS system to match what is on your workstation does not work. You can try the following:
    Uninstall Flash via the Adobe uninstall tool - Found here (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html),        this tool is the only way to completely remove Macromedia Flash        from your system.  Choose the       version that is appropriate for  your operating system, download, and then       run the program.
    Once the program has run it will have completely removed Flash  from your       computer.  You can verify this by       trying to visit  any Flash-enabled website.
    Reinstall Flash - Once Flash has       been completely uninstalled, reinstall Flash by visiting the Adobe Flash       website (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/).  Be sure to download the latest version       (as of this writing it was version 10).

  • ADF security - prompt for user id and password again on page forward

    Hi,
    I am working with ADF using JDeveloper 10.1.3 with Business Components and ADF Faces.
    I have a Search page and a List page.
    Both pages are based on the same view within the same application module.
    The Search page is using the default Find and Execute Operations.
    The Execute button has an action that navigate to the List screen.
    faces-config.xml
    <navigation-rule>
    <from-view-id>/jspx/search.jspx</from-view-id>
    <navigation-case>
    <from-outcome>search</from-outcome>
    <to-view-id>/jspx/list.jspx</to-view-id>
    <redirect/>
    </navigation-case>

    <to-view-id>/jspx/search.jspx</to-view-id>
    <redirect/>
    </navigation-case>
    </navigation-rule>
    Security (Roles and Users) is based on the jazn-data.xml and web.xml
    URL Patterns for the pages have assigned to the role.
    Login Configuration is HTTP Digest Authentication
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>APP_SUPPORT</web-resource-name>

    <role-name>APP_SUPPORT</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>
    <login-config>
    <auth-method>DIGEST</auth-method>
    </login-config>
    Everything is fine when running the application from JDeveloper,
    but when the application is deployed to the server (OC4J),
    After logging into the system, the Search page prompt for user id and password again
    on click of the Execute button.
    Have anyone experience this problem before?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
    does the same thing happen if you change your protected resource from:
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>APP_SUPPORT</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>faces/jspx/search.jspx</url-pattern>
    <url-pattern>faces/jspx/list.jspx</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>to:
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>APP_SUPPORT</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>/faces/jspx/*</url-pattern>

  • Security prompt

    so we're trying to run a .bat file across the network and we get the annoying prompt, "we can not verify the file. Do you still want to run this file"
    we do this from the dfsn path \\domain.local\share\share
    using policy I add file://*.domain.local to my intranet zone
    did not change anything
    however if I right click and run as administrator it does not prompt. However most our users are not admins.
    Note: UNC is also set to never.
    Now I know that it is not best practice to disable this prompt but real world is that 100% of the time users say "open" anyway and it is only done from the Intranet zone.
    Is there a group policy to turn off this security warning prompt? I gets lots of complains.
    Thanks

    > we do this from the dfsn path \\domain.local\share\share
    > using policy I add file://*.domain.local to my intranet zone
    You need to add "domain.local" :) The "*.domain.local" denotes that
    there HAS to be a host part in front of the domain name, wich for DFSN
    is not the case.
    And make sure the file doesn't have an alternate data stream that
    identifies it as "Internet"...

  • Security prompt when opening .msg files in SAP

    I have a customer that gets this prompt when opening an attachment in SAP.  The attachment was saved from Outollk so it is in .msg file format.  The customer is using Windows 7, and Office 2007.  This is from the customer:
    As discussed, below is a screen shot of the pop up I receive every time when opening an email attachment with T-Code VA02.  I use this function multiple times per day.  Even if I select “Always Allow,”  I continue to receive this pop up.

    Hello Ronald,
    Did you try to create a security rule at the SAP GUI?
    Access the SAP GUI "options", then "security" -> "security settings". Click at the "Open security configuration" button, and then at the "insert" button.

  • URL to connect directly to UCS KVM

    Can a KVM be directly connected to?
    I know there is the nice "Launch KVM Manager" setup.
    But have a client would just like to give URL's to their KVM's and keep their awareness of UCS "limited". URL's to their KVM's would be ideal.
    I tried the below and it didn't work, along with just the IP.
    http://<ucs-ip-address>/ucsm/kvm.html
    Craig

    Craig,
    I have tried something like that also and does not work either.
    I have even tried with CIMC for the C series in standalone mode but no luck, let me see if I can find a way to do something like that and get back to you later on.

  • How to disable security prompts on OS X?

    How do I disable securty prompts when installing new programs? Below are some examples of what I mean. Also sometimes it asks for my password. It's very annoying. I want to turn these warnings and password promps off completely.
    Thank you

    vas12345 wrote:
    I have nothing against security but this prompt is an ineffective, basically useless feature. I downloaded the program in question, I clicked on it asking for it to be installed on my computer - this means that I wish for this program to be on my Mac. These prompts are not telling me anything I don't already know, i.e. that the application is from the internet and that I want to open it. Reminds me of Windows Vista with its never ending prompts.
    A much more useful feature would be a behind the scenes scan of the download file to see if it has any viruses or malware.
    But once you have accepted the install, then the fault no longer lies with Apple, but with you and/or the Third Party developer, making Apple exempt from blame if you stuff up your system with it. Simple business practice for protection. Keep clicking OK all you want, but don't come back here crying if your OSX has been severly compromised. A lot of us take security of our systems quite seriously.

  • Cisco UCS KVM not launching
