UDA of parent

Anyone know a way of accessing the UDA of the parent of the currently calculated member?I have UDAs attached to level 1 members which I want to use in a calculation of their level 0 children.

Unfortunately, there is no way to extract the UDA of even the current member being calculated. The @ISUDA function will tell you if the UDA you indicate is present on the current member, which is probably about as close as you will get. What do you need to do with the UDA? There may be another way to do it, depending on what it is.Regards,Jade------------------------------------Jade ColeSenior Business Intelligence ConsultantClarity [email protected]

  • 11.1.2.3, clean up member from existing UDA's, members should have no UDA at all.

    Hi,
    (Essbase 11.1.2.3)
I want to clean up member (Account) from existing UDA's, so that in the end there are no UDA at all.
    The docu says:
"Note:To remove a UDA value, use Enable UDA changes, and, in the data source, leave the relevant UDA field blank"
    https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24674_01/epm.1112/eas_help/frameset.htm?ruleuda.html
However I can not make it...
Tried the following in the data file: (I have not tested it with a SQL source yet)
    Member(level0), UDA(level(0)
    K12345 <tab>
    K12345 <tab> ""
    K12345 <tab> <blank>
    K12345 <tab> " "
    K12345 <tab> <blank> <tab>
    K12345 <tab> " " <tab>
Also changed the separator from <tab> to ";" and tried all of the obove again.
I alway get the "Success" message after the Dim load, however the already existing UDA's still remain. When I give it a "dummy" UDA (e.g. "noUDA" in the data file these UDA value replaces the existing (one or many). However I dont want such "dummy" stuff in the otl.
    Has someone a hint?
    Thanks in advance!
    Andre

Hi Andre - I just tested this with a parent-child file against the Market dimension of Sample.Basic in 11.1.2.3.505, and it worked for me leaving it blank. Structure of the file was:  Parent     Child     UDA
In the global Dimension Build Properties I selected Market then checked 'Allow Property Changes' and 'Allow UDA Changes'.
In the UDA field's Dimension Build Properties I set the dimension to 'Market', field to type UDA, and I also checked 'Delete when the field is empty' (it's all the way at the bottom of the field properties list, below 'Ignore Field for Dimension Build').
Since you don't mention it, I wonder if you missed that last step?

  • No UDA Found for Dimension XYZ

We are loading metadata into Planning using outline load utility. The command we are using is as follows:
    C:\Hyperion\products\Planning\bin\OutlineLoad -f:%scripthome%\EncPassword.txt /A:NFR /U:%Essid% /M /C /-F /I:C:\Data\NFR_Customer_Dim.csv /D:Entity /L:%scripthome%\Logs\Cust_Dim_OTL_Load.Log /X:c:/outlineLoad.exc

Do you get the same errors if you load just the first record from the file, if you don't keep increasing the number of records until you find the record that is causing the problem.

  • Shed some light on loading UDA's

    Hello,
My accounts dimension members each have 3 UDA's associated with them and I am trying to load metadata into EPMA using flat files. I am unclear on how to load UDA information.
I created a UDA dimension - UDA1 and am trying to associate it with Accounts dimension in the following way.
    !Section=Dimensions
    'Name|DimensionClass
    ACCOUNT|Account
    ALIAS|Alias
    UDA1|UDA
    !Section=DimensionAssociations
    'BaseDimension|Property|TargetDimension
    ACCOUNT|Alias|ALIAS
    ACCOUNT|UDA|UDA1
    !Hierarchies=ACCOUNT
    'Parent|Child|Alias=Default|SourcePlanType|Plan1Aggregation|DataStorage|TimeBalance|SkipValue|VarianceReporting|TwoPassCalc|MemberFormula|UDA
Since there are 3 UDA's for each member, I separated them with comma's.
    Is this format correct?
I received the following error for all the columns starting with (SourcePlanType .... UDA)
Import Dimension ACCOUNT does not have a mapping for source property (SourcePlanType....UDA). Data for this column will not be processed
Please advise. Appreciate your help greatly

    Hi,
I am receiving an error as EPMA is treating UDA values to be members. "Dimension Member (UDAValue1) not found".
    Hierarchy section format is -
    'Parent|Child|Alias=Default|SourcePlanType|Plan1Aggregation|DataStorage|TimeBalance|SkipValue|VarianceReporting|TwoPassCalc|MemberFormula|UDA|UDA|UDA
    Please let me know
    Thanks!!

  • How to test the UDA or Attribute of an ancestor member

Hi everybody !I would like to know how to test the UDA or attribute (I can use both) of the ancestor (or the parent of the parent) of the current member please ?(the current member is on level 0 et the ancestor is on level 2).I tryed some syntax but any result :(Thanks very much for your help... JaspePS : Sorry for my "bad" english, i'm french...

You can try using this IF conditional statement:if (@count (skipnone, (@uda (dimName, myUDA) and @ancest (@currmbr (dimName), -2))) == 1)where:dimName is the dimension of the level 0 member you are testingmyUDA is the UDA you are testingWhat this does is it counts the number of members that meet two criteria. First, it must have the UDA you specify and, second, it must be an ancestor of the current member at a specified level. If the current member has a level 2 ancestor with the UDA, it should return one member.

  • Avoid child rollup to parent using Business rule

Hi iam new to this hyperion planning.
I want to spread values from parent to child. Once i spreaded the value from parent to child if any other user changed child data it should not be rollup to parent. By using business rule only
    Thanks in advance

Then you must not run an aggregation on this data, at least for the dimension that you are spreading on.
If you have a broad aggregation you run you could try fixing on non-Target versions only:
FIX(@UDA("Standard Bottom Up")) before your aggregation should restrict to the versions you are safe to aggregate,

  • Select Members in Data Forms via UDA or Substitutionvariable

    Hello,
I want to select members in row or colum dimension of a Planning data form via an UDA. But it is only possible to select members via hierarchy (member, sibling, parent,...).
Is there a possibility to select members via UDA?
    What I tried is:
1.) in the definition of the dimension members for the dimension "Period" in the data form I filled in: "@UDA(Period,FC01)".
I get the error "The member @UDA(Period does not exist or you do not have access to it."
2.) Instead of the UDA I tried to use a Substitutionvariable "&PER_LIST"
This works if the Substitutionvariable contains only one member. It doesn't work if it contains more than one member (comma-separated list).
I get the error: "A substitution variable required for this calculation is undefined. Variable: PER_LIST" (even though the variable exists and I selected it in the member selection dialog)
Can anyone help? I'm using Hyp. System 9.3.1.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nicole

I would love to see the ability to select EDA's from Planning Forms, it would definately make life a little easier.
As CL says, attributes are great at filtering forms and BR's, their only drawback is that you can only use them on sparse dimensional members.
To get round this problem i've relied on security to filter out the accounts i do not need to see in the forms for the specific users, and kept the form selection on @IDESCENDANTS(Account_Parent).
If you wish to filter on the Period dimension and this is a dense dimension, can you not get round the problem with rollups and, for example, @DESCENDANTS(Q1) to only return 3 months in the form, it really depends on your outline structure.

  • Issue load UDA in Planning

    Hi guru,
I'm finding a way to load several UDA (in my case are just 2) on account member with ODI.
    My steps:
    1) load UDA dimension with all uda member needed
    2) load onto the account dim the parent, child, alias.... and the uda (relative to field ACC_UDA1)
    3) load onto the account dim (the same record of the previous load, except regarding the uda field in witch I load a different value)
    ex: PARENT :AAA
    CHILD :BBB
    ALIAS :CCC
    ACC_UDA1 :AA1
    ACC_UDA2 :AA2
What I expect is that at the member BBB, are associated both the uda (ZZZ and KKK),
but what happened is that after the second load, only one UDA is associated to the member, just the last one loaded...I think that the IKM uses the update method.
So, are someone of you solve this issue?
    any help will be appreciate.
    Thx in advance,
    Paolo

    John,
I read your blog and I try to use your precious info...
My case is the second one that you propose in you page...my source is a table, so first of all I load the UDA table and then I use your rule concatenated the two field but...
    every record was refuse:
error message is: java.lang.RuntimeException: The specified UDA "A008RC" is not defined.
the message is true, in my application exist only "A008" and "RC" uda member and not "A008RC"
Can you explain me what heppened?
    Thx again
    Paolo

  • ASO MDX IsLevel weirds result when a parent with only a child

    Hi,
I am using the function IsLevel but I find funny results when I apply it with a parent member with only a child.
The result of the function is the level of the child
I am doing it in Essbase 11.1.2.2
Has anyone had the same issue?

    Hi Tim,
It is true, it is an implied share issue.
With the parent as never share works.
I don't remember that it happens with BSO, not with the attributes of the members (level, generation, UDA).

  • Descendants of many Members flagged with a UDA

    Hi All,
I'm writing a calc script where I want to Fix on all of the descendants of many parents. The parents have UDAs to identify them, but the children are frequently changing, and will not have UDAs.
Is there a way to accomplish this?
    I've tried
FIX(@DESCENDANTS(@UDA("Account","Candidates"))) and some other variations, but @DESCENDANTS only allows a single member argument, not a series of members.

Markoul, you have posted the same post across multiple forums. This is spamming. No good. Let's just stick with one single thread, if there is any reply. Go here:

  • Fonction @PARENT(Account) or @CURRMBR(Account) don't work just on 1 cube

    Hi all,
I have a problem in HBR in a Planning application with two cubes.
The fonctions @PARENT(Account) or @CURRMBR(Account) dont work on one cube but are ok on the second one.
I have no error message, the fonction doesn't take the right value on let my block on missing.
It's not a problem of block creation (create missing block on) on when i tried a direct call to the parent, it's ok.
This kind of fonction have some properties to set ? The native XREF réference on this dimension can be the problem ? I'm a bit lost
    Thanks for help

I add some details to precise my words :
    Dimension Account:
    x
    WHOST06 Dyn Calc
    WHOST06_INPUT
    y
    z
This two scripts are KO :
    FIX(@UDA(Period,[ScenarioPrev]),WHOST06_INPUT,BegBalance)
    BRUT
    IF("Method"->"BegBalance"==1);
    "History"="Brut"->@PARENT("Account")->[Scenario_Source]->[Year_Source]->[Version_Source]->"YearTotal"/"Brut"->"MBINNS06"->[Scenario_Source]->[Year_Source]->[Version_Source]->"YearTotal";
    ENDIF
    or
    with
    "History"="Brut"->@MEMBER(@SUBSTRING(@NAME(@CURRMBR("Account")),0,7))->[Scenario_Source]->[Year_Source]->[Version_Source]->"YearTotal";
But with a direct call, it's ok
    /*"History"="Brut"->WHOST06 ->Scenario_Source]->[Year_Source]->[Version_Source]->"YearTotal";
Any idea for my trouble ?

  • Loading multiple UDAs

Having problem with the syntax for loading multiple UDAs into epma using the Excel File generator.
First I created the UDA dimension. I then added members to that dimension. Next I posted UDAs in the UDA column in the dimension requiring the UDA.
The file uploads with errors. It will take the UDA if there is only "1" UDA but won't take it if there is multiple UDAs. I am using a comma separator for the multiple UDAs using what appears as the syntax if I manually load them into EPMA using the properties editor in the Web interface. But it won't take if I try the import.
I'm sure there is something simple I'm missing and instead of trying over and over again to figure out what I'm missing looking for suggestions.
Currently the entry looks like this for Entity dimension (this is pulled directly from the ADS file). Only thing I have set is Parent,Child,UDA,Alias=Default
    FINPRESCEXP;C1154;FIN;FIN-Projet image corporative
    AAPRESCEXP;C1175;FIN,CSC,AGP,AAP;C-Restructuration
The first one works. The second one is regected, saying the member "FIN,CSC,AGP,AAP" doesn't exist

    You are correct.
To be specific for future people. You create a column per UDA you want to create (you can have lots of blanks if you want). The column header is simply UDA over and over again (nothing fancy like Alias= -> UDA=)

  • How can a parent restrict a child's access to a PARENT'S PRE-EXSISTING iTunes account via iCloud's Family Sharing Program?

How can a parent restrict a child's access to a PARENT'S PRE-EXSISTING iTunes account via iCloud's Family Sharing Program?  To explain further... I have a young son who is on my iCloud family sharing program... I am excited to be able to share SOME of my music in my iTunes library, but there are some songs and music videos that are not age appropriate for him and currently there is no way to restrict him from viewing and downloading anything off of my iTunes library.  Yes, I suppose I can delete the songs he shouldn't have access to, but I don't think I should have to do that... I paid for them and still like them and listen to them while I work out or am without my kids.  Is there a way for me to personally select which songs/videos I would like to "hide" from my children in an effort to shield them from inappropriate content?

    Hello ggg39,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you have some content in your iTunes library that you would like to restrict access for the child set up on Family Sharing with you. To do this, you can set restrictions on the child’s device as described in the attached article.
    Family Sharing - Apple Support
Now kids under 13 can have their own Apple IDs. As a parent or legal guardian, the family organizer can create an Apple ID for a child and add the child to the family group automatically. Ask to Buy is turned on by default, and the organizer can also limit the content kids have access to on their devices through Restrictions on an iOS device or parental controls in OS X and iTunes.
For more information on restrictions and how to set them up, please reference the next attached article.
About Restrictions (parental controls) on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
    Have a great day,
    Joe

  • HT1420 How can I get past 5 authorized computers when we have more computers, ipads, iphones than allowed. I want to have parental control by sharing 1 apple ID with one account?

We have multiple computers, laptops, iphones and ipad in our home. We have kept one account for iTunes in order to monitor what my family downloads for parental monitoring. How can I get approval or allow for more devices to be 'authorized' to purchase from iTunes? I don't want to have to have more than one account that I have to monitor - technology is overwhelming enough to control with all the hackers and distasteful things on the web.

    Authorization applies ONLY to computers.
ipads/ipods/iphones/apple tvs are NOT authorized at all.

My parents were too lazy and didnt know how to create their own itunes account. so I was wondering if either 1)there was a way to stop their music from geting on my laptop and phone,or 2) a way to transfer my perchases to a new itunes account. If anyone has any ideas besides burning everything to discs I'd love to hear it.

    Hey there 79usma79!
I have a couple of articles for you that can help you troubleshoot the issues you are seeing with iTunes on Windows XP. The first is a general troubleshooting article, which can be found right here:
iTunes for Windows XP: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1421
This article can help you find out if there are any conflicts between your copy of Windows XP and iTunes, and can tell you what to do if there are. Before going down the troubleshooting route though, you should take a look at this article, which can help you back up your entire iTunes library to an external hard drive, so if this issue is recurring, you will be able to restore from that backup and will not have to worry about losing your playlists or music again:
iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
