UDP Communication....Server waiting for packet indefinitly.....!!
Hi i am a beginner in Java. I was just trying out a UDP communication between a server and client. but what happens is that the server wait continuously but never receives the client's packet. Could some one help me out plz!! Thz !!
CODE - THE CLIENT
public void Client () throws Exception{
public void trial()
System.out.println("I am Trial");
try
System.out.println("Intizlizing client");
clientSocket=new DatagramSocket(clientPort);
String strData = "Message from Client";
byte[] data=strData.getBytes();
clientSocket.send(new DatagramPacket(data,data.length,InetAddress.getLocalHost(),serverPort));
clientSocket.close();
System.out.println("Data Sent");
catch(Exception e)
System.out.println(e);
THE SERVER
public class Server {
public static int serverPort =998;
public static int clientPort=999;
public static int buffer_size=1024;
public static DatagramSocket serverSocket;
public static byte buffer[]=new byte[1024];
public void receive(){
try{
serverSocket=new DatagramSocket(serverPort);
while(true)
System.out.println("Socket Intialized");
DatagramPacket p=new DatagramPacket(buffer,buffer.length);
System.out.println("Packet Intialized");
serverSocket.receive(p);
System.out.println(new String(p.getData(),0,p.getLength()));
catch (Exception e) {
System.out.println("Server Error: "+e);
MAIN
public class UDP_ClnSer {
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
// TODO code application logic here
try {
//ds =new DatagramSocket (999);
ClientPack.Client cl=new ClientPack.Client(); *\\This is Client Object*
cl.trial();
System.out.println("Client Intialized");
parser.Server ser=new parser.Server(); *\\ This is Server Object*
ser.receive();
System.out.println("hai done");
System.out.println("I am Main");
catch (Exception e)
System.out.println(e);
}
You start the client, make it send a datagram and only after this you start the server.
Why do you expect the server to receive something sent a few milliseconds ago?
And other mistakes. Here is a link to a simple example [http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/networking/datagrams/clientServer.html]

Cannot Connect To FTP Server (Waiting For Server)
no matter what I do, I am unable to connect to my FTP server. In dreamweaver when I try and connect my site, it just keeps saying waiting for server. I have also just recently downloaded filezilla to see if it was dreamweaver that was messing up, and it turns out, it wasn't! because I am having the same problems on there too, when I try and connect to my site in filezilla, it just times out. I have disabled all my firewalls, played around with every setting possible (turning mt FTP from passive to active etc) whats going on? is the server playing up? someone help me please! I have had no problems like this before, it only began yesterday.
Could it be a signal? Have a look here http://suite101.com/article/2012-end-of-the-world-predictions-by-nostradamus-a148071
On a more professional note, I think it is best to contact the host, he/she is sure to help you.

Have you tried starting the phone in safe mode,see if there is any app acting up messing around with your phone?A backup should not take that long,but if you do have a lot of media,it is better to copy it directly to your pc and backup only small packs of data(messages,contacts,settings etc).I suggest using myphone explorer for messages and contacts.

Wait for undefined amount of time
Hello All,
I have a requirement, where in I would want my activity in the workflow to wait for an indefinite amount of time. Then when a certain activity occurs, I would like to complete the 'waiting' activity.
So lets say I have the following process with 2 activities(A and B)
----------> A ----------> B(wait for undefined amount of time)------------->End
B needs to wait for some time, which I do not know.
Then when another event( PL/SQL activity) occurs, I need the event to trigger of the waiting activity B, to completion.
How can I acheive this?
Thanks in advance.
PHKLuiz,
Lets say I have the following:
-------->A---------->B(needs to wait)-----No------>D----> END
\ Yes
C-------------->END
B is the activity which needs to wait. It has a PL/SQL function assciated with it.Lets say I have a result type of YES/NO associated with activity B. As soon as the workflow engine encounters activity B, it will execute the function associated with it. Lets the function ends with a result_out => YES, then immediatly C will be executed.
So setting a result type will not help. I need to wait at step 'B'

Installing Solaris 7 - timeout waiting for ARP/RARP packet
I'm attempting to install Solaris 7 on and E250. I'm using HyperTerminal connection via a null modem cable. I boot up the server and I see various harware init processes echoed to the terminal and then I receive this error: Timeout waiting for ARP/RARP packet
I have connected the nic card to a network connection.
any help would be appreciated.
SteveThis is because you HAVE a network connection. You can resolve this with 1 of the following 2 methods:
A:
disconnect the network cable and reconnect when the installation process gets to the prompt for hostname.
B:
1. Get to the OK prompt
2. setenv diag-device disk
3. reset -
Timeout waiting for ARP/RARP packets
I am installing Solaris 8 for the first time on an Ultra 5. It has a network card and attached to my 10mbps Hub which is connected to Cable Modem. Problem: While the system was rebooting after the install, the system generated the error trying to link up to the Hub (timeout waiting for ARP/RARP packets). During the install I chose "non-networked" because I could not answer the other questions such IP address name Service etc..
I want to set it up as a server so that I can use 2 other PCs to access the Oracle, mail and other stuff that would eventually run on it.
What do I do?
RenaldTypically the message "waiting for ARP/RARP packet" will only be generated when no other boot device is available or net is set as the primary boot device. First thing to do is check your env settings to ensure that boot-device = disk net. Second, to reenable network support to the system the easiest way is to do a sys-unconfig and enter the requested information. You need to have the following information available. Hostname, IP address, subnet mask, Name service (if any), Name service settings (name and IP address of server). Some of the information may be available from your ISP on what exact address`s you should be using. Since the message came up and if the boot-device setting is correct I would check the connection to the hard disk.

FTP Problem: Waiting for server...
I'm using Dreamweaver MX with the 6.1 patch applied. FTP
appears to connect fine, but then when it starts looking for the
remote folder it says, "waiting for server..." and eventually times
out. While searching the internet for clues to this problem I see
some people say to check off "Passive FTP"....but I don't have an
option to check "Passive FTP". Does anyone have any ideas?You have that option in your Remote Site definition.

Hello,
I am trying to connect to an external MySQL database from within a bundle.
But I keep getting this error:
Could not get JDBC Connection; nested exception is org.apache.commons.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (Communications link failure Last packet sent to the server was 0 ms ago.)
These are the details of my bundle:
1) Spring bundle(using Spring DM)
2) MySQL database is at port 7046 so my bean is as below:
<bean id="dataSource" class="org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource">
<property name="driverClassName" value="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" />
<property name="url" value="jdbc:mysql://instance13550.db.xeround.com:7046/jas" />
<property name="username" value="mysql" />
<property name="password" value="mysql" />
</bean>
My bundle connects to the mysql database from withina local felix installation. But when I put the same bundle within CQ I get the error.
Please help.
KaranI dont know the answer, but if you google for this, some articles listed might help:
re: "Communications link failure Last packet sent to the server was"
Note: I use 're:' which is short for 'reply',
I think you will also be better off using preparedStatements. Dont forget to use preparedStatement.clearParameters() just before preparedStatements.setString() items in the loop
Also, I question why you need to test having 1000 test users all banging away at your application at once. Chances are, most will be staring at your web page and only a few will ever hit the update/insert button
within the same 100 milliseconds or so that your process takes to update. -
Installing SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition or wait for SP2?
Hi everyone,
I just received my copy of SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition I ordered. As usual, before installing, I searched the web for any hint or other stuff on the subject.
I first found that SP1 was already available. Honestly I prefer installing using the last version available instead of upgrading. I found the SP1 install package using the following web address:
http://www.microsoft.com/fr-ca/download/details.aspx?id=35575
Is this the right install package to use?
Now, still reading everything I could find on that SP1, I found stories about major issues with SP1.
Two examples I remember:
http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/770630
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793634/en-us?wa=wsignin1.0
Two others (not specifically related to SP1):
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlsetupandupgrade/thread/a0da3372-ab3d-4af0-b4c4-0d47163e0e03/
http://www.sqlperformance.com/2012/11/system-configuration/2012-cal-problems
My question. Should I wait for SP2? If so, any target date when it should be available?
If not, what would you recommend as the logic install sequence? Should I look for any cumulative update(s)? Any other "manual settings" I should consider?
Finally, can someone guide me regarding what options I should choose while installing. My main goal is to program/build C++, C# applications using VS2010 that will interface with SQL Server for data storage purposes (add/update/delete,
batch update/delete) and reports.
Hope to hear from someone.
Stephane
BTW: My current setup is the following:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU [email protected]
3.00 Go
Vista Ultimate SP2 32bits
Visual Studio 2010 Professional Edition (which will be upgraded to last SP once installed)Hi again,
I proceeded with download of CU7. On Microsoft's webpage, there are several files we can download:
2012_SP1_DAC_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
2012_SP1_AOrcleDes_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
2012_SP1_AOrcleSer_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
2012_SP1_PPExcel_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
SQLServer2012_SP1_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
Which one I should choose?
Also, some people reported having problems installing this update.
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlreleaseservices/archive/2013/11/19/cumulative-update-7-for-sql-server-2012-sp1.aspx
Can you comment?
Thanks again for helping,

Certificates issued by communications server for client authentication
Hi,
we ran into problem with those certificates, that are being issued by the lync server itself. In our enteprise we have CX600 and CX3000 phones, and i know that certificate authentication is required for the phones to work (both for registrar and webservice).
However, now that users have lync installed, they have their communications server certificate assigned as well. The problem is when a user needs to sign a document with the certificate from our private CA, for most of the users, word or excel suggests to
use a certificate issued by communications server, not our ent CA. Maybe there is a way for LYNC to trust private enteprise CA and not give out its own certificates and STILL use certificate authentication?
Thanks!Facing almost the same issue, Lync (server) issues ClientAuth certs from "Communication Server", (btw
is not trusted of course), and in turns forces users to make a selection of which VPN cert to use when dialing in, instead of only one ClientAuth cert installed, they now have 2 ClientAuth certs installed, which our internal CA's should care about and NOT
the Lync (server).
Don’t get how an MS product of this caliber can be built without proper PKI integration, how can it NOT utilize internally issued certs for client authentication???
Not the first though, SCCM and OSD is another example....
However, are you saying that Lync communication can’t be used without certificate authentication,
without the user being spammed with credential prompts?
Trying to get clarification on this… -
I get an error message in iPhoto when I click on thumbnails of pictures in certain albums. It reads 'the volume for "(file name)" cannot be found. Insert the disk or connect to the server volume and wait for it to appear on the desktop, then try again.' What does this mean and how do I fix it?
It means that you imported the files in Referenced mode and have now remvoed them from the Mac. Put the disk or card back.

PS2013 - When creating a new instance of Project Server hangs in 'Waiting for resources' status
Hi,
I have one instance of Project Server 2013 fully operational and I tried to duplicate the instance to make some tests. As I know the issue of using the same Content Database of Project Server in the same Server Farm, I used the powershell backup/restore/dismount
and mount the content database to change the site IDs to avoid index duplication. The Project server database was a regular SQL backup and restore in another database.
I created a new Web App in the port 90 as show below.
Then I included the Content database of Project Server as separated DB from SharePoint for this new SharePoint -acme90 and I tried to create the new instance. The creation hanged in "Waiting for Resources" status.
To make another check excluding the reuse of the SharePoint-80 I tried to create another instance both in the SharePoint-80 where is the working instance and in the SharePoint-90, everything default and again they all hanged in Waiting for Resource.
If I try to create the instance using PowerShell I got the following error:
PS C:\Users\epm_setup> Mount-SPProjectWebInstance -DatabaseName Test_EPM -SiteCo
llection http://acme02/epm -Lcid 1046
Mount-SPProjectWebInstance : Cannot find an SPSite object with Id or Url:

All SharePoint and Project Server services are running, all App Pools and sites are started at the IIS. I could not find a hanging timer job.
I cannot stop the hanged process or dismount the instances using Powershell since no instance created.
How should I solve the hanging status of creation of the instance? As they are in Hyper-V I can go back using one snapshot.
Thank you.
Best regards, Ricardo Segawa - Segawas Projetos / Microsoft PartnerHi Eric,
Thank your for your interest in this case.
I checked for running and crashed PWA jobs and deleted all of them just after restoring the snapshot and tried to create the new instance in the new web app in port 90 (besides the existing and working instance in port 80), but again it hanged in "waiting
for resources". There is not any timer job hanging, no error in event viewer or in log. So the error is well before working with cloned dbs.
Answering your questiion, I am working all on 2013. My intention is backup one instance of the port 80 and copy to the instance of port 90, changing of course the url and the index of the content db of SharePoint. The process I used was:
Create a new web app in port 90, creating a new SharePoint_Content_2 on a
http://server:90 site.
Created the top level site called Portal using the Team Site template.
Create a new content db for new instance of Project Server named EPM_Content_2 using Central Admin.
Backup content db from port 80 instance of Project Server and restore to this EPM_content_2 using PowerShell cmd.
Dismounted and mounted this Project Server content db to create new index for existing sites to avoid index conflicts.
Backup the Project Server DB from port 80 using SQL backup and restored as ProjectWebApp2 db for port 90 instance.
Tried to create a new instance of Project Server
http://server:90/pwa on web app of port 90 using the ProjectWebApp2 db and using the same app pool of the other instance. But as in the previous case, it hang out in "Waiting for resources".
