Ugh Surround mixer/CTSYSVOL.exe file is PHYSICALLY missing

Hi,
I'm really going nuts here. After I've installed the newest Audigy 2 drivers (2 Jul 08) ,I've discovered that the Microphone slider was missing from the Mixer control panel. So I decided to revert back to the 2006 Audigy 2 drivers. I uninstalled, rebooted, installed the old drivers, rebooted and BOOM ! What do I see ? No more friggin' CTSYSVOL.exe and by that I don't mean that it's not AUTOBOOTED at start but that the FILE itself is MISSING : I went into Program Files/Creative/SBAudigy2/ and and even did a HDD search but no sign of it anywhere. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck so I retried installing the 2008 drivers and it still won't come back ! I spent 5 hours just doing that, trying in SAFE MODE etc.... I'm using WINDOWS XP SP3 32 bits btw. If someone could send me CTSYSVOL.exe ,I would be grateful.

I did this already and even after I install the newest 2006 driver after that, it keeps the OLD ctsysvol.exe from the Installation CD because for whatever reason, it just won't install that **bleep** executable. And how do I know it's the old one ? The icon's graphic...

.exe files appearing on MAC in mixed network environment

I am working in a mixed PC/Mac network environment. Soon after plugging the MAC into the network, I started noticing '.exe' file appearing on my MAC.
Almost every folder on the HD now has a .exe file with the same name inside it. For example the Libray folder has a file called "Library.exe" in it now.
I have one folder on the MAC shared, and mapped as a network drive on a PC. The PC's anti-virus software keeps flagging a virus on the folder. However, I am running Intego's anti-virus on the MAC and it does not find anything.
Anyone have any ideas here?

Finally figured it out... PC Network volume (shared folder) had the W32.rontokbro@mm virus. EXE file appeared anytime the PC connected to the MAC. Reformatted the PC and deleted all of the EXE files from the MAC and now I have no troubles.

Installing surround mixer T

I just reinstalled XP. I have an Audigy 2 ZS. I downloaded the drivers and everything works fine except that I'm missing the Creative Labs tray icon with surround mixer, speaker settings...etc. I'm assuming it just wasnt included in the driver download. Where/how can I get this installed? Any help is appriciated.
By the way, the driver file I installed was:

I have renewed my primary HD.
I have installed OS Windows XP Professional and reinstalled sound card drivers (everyone and up to date).
My sound card is (again) Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum.
I inquiry to test (Creative diagnostic, System in Control Panel, ecc ecc)....
every answer tell me that's all ?OK? but ...<only Wave Studio work fine!!!
I attempt a lot of solution but "control fader" show me only a red cross in tool bar, "surround mixer "don't march, ecc ecc

Surround Mixer doesn't keep setti

This a problem that occurs every day. When I choose a speaker config and EAX Advanced EQ setting, the speaker config sticks but the EQ setting doesn't. Rarely it will stick from day to day. This has been happening since I purchased the product - a couple years ago. I'm just tired of it and would like a fix. I have the latest drivers - which are pretty old anyway (any updates coming?).

Now I tried it with the Cleansweep. Still didn't work. On my CD, the file CTZAPXX.EXE was located in \audio\common\ instead of what was posted. It also crashed again.
I also tried "Creative3" for the folder name this time. Yes, I deleted the other one. After installation, I ended up with two folders again. Creative and Creative 3.
I need this **bleep** Mixer back. Can't do anything without it.
Please post a solution for this ASAP. Thanks.
UPDATE: Tried to install the Surround Mixer separately, but again it said it found the same version on my system. This is most definitely a registry problem.

How do I get my old Surround Mixer recording sources back?

I recently had my computer repaired where I basically had a complete overhaul. In the process they installed a second soundcard (the one that went with the new motherboard) alongside my original Creative Sound Blaster Audigy card (Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum eX). Before, when I would record audio into my computer, I opened the Surround Mixer software and in the record pulldown menu it showed all of the inputs as they relate to my Audigy interface (SPDIF, Aux In 2, Line In 2, etc.). Now when I open the Surround Mixer software, I only get generic options such as Analog Mix, CD Digital, Microphone, etc. and therefore I can't get any outside audio into my computer.
I figured the computer?was defaulting to the?new sound card so I disabled the onboard audio in my BIOS and then installed the Creative Sound Blaster Series 2 Driver. I clicked on the driver and it said that it needed to uninstall another driver that was already there. The install went a little funny and it got hung up a couple of times. Then, I couldn't get Surround Mixer to work at all so I went to the Creative website and installed Software Auto Update. I downloaded and installed all the critical components?but that also went a little funny. It took about three tries and it didn't seem like it actually finished installing, but when I checked on Auto Update again, it said that I was up to date and that everything had installed. I noticed at the beginning that it installed a new version of Surround Mixer but when I opened it later, it still had those same generic options, not the the ones that match my external interface.
What do I need to do to get my original settings back?

Is the external Audigy Dri've properly connected? Does the Plat Ex have the rear jacks? If so, can you record from the rear LineIn or mic jack and play sound files through headphones or speakers? What happens when you run the Creative Diagnostic? What does Device Manager show? Otherwise, yes, uninstall and reinstall the Creative software. If your install CD has a repair option, try that first. However, you may find you need to remove the Audigy from your PC, reboot without it, and then reinstall everything. Some Soundblaster cards don't play well with some integrated soundcards, so you may also want to disable the integrated soundcard in BIOS.

Live!Surround speaker setting not showing in surround mixer for SB Live Platinum

Installed the speaker preset for li've!surround but the only headphone, 2 speaker, 4 speaker, and 5. speaker shows up on speaker configuration of the Surround Mixer
i've played the AC3 files on the cdrom and Dolby pro logic surround, I get sound from all fi've speakers on my Denon D-850 w/ Dolby surround pro-logic
I can't use the surround mixer to test all the speakers, only front left and right speakers work on the test, i have to open to wav files directly to test the center speaker, the rear speaker test doesn't work from the wav file
My Denon system only has analog stereo inputs, so this is my only option for letting Sound Blaster know I have 5 speakers.
I've uninstalled all SB Li've software and drivers from the unipack, and reinstalled the orignal drivers and apps from the CD-ROM SBP5-CDSD-W-US MID : 32680 5-Sep-2000 and the Li've!Surround speaker setting reappears in the Surround Mixer.
Is the Li've!Surround setting no longer available in the new Surround Mixer in Li'veDrvUni-Pack (English) SBLW-XPWEB-W4-US 28-Feb-03 ?

....so what would be the best setting to play ac3 files or DVD's through my receiver with only 2 analog inputs (left and right) available w/ Dolby surround prologic. Should I set it to 2 speaker or 4 speaker setting in the Surround Mixer in order to send the best signal to the prologic decoder on my receiver with 5 speakers (2 front, center, 2 rear)

An .exe file is a Windows program/app. It displays as a jumbled mess because you're trying to view binary machine code as text.
As already noted, it's malware intended for Windows. Fortunately, it can't do a thing to your Mac. Also, FedEx never, ever sends any email to anyone about an undeliverable package. They don't know yours, or anyone else's email address. If it really were FedEx, they'd leave a note right on your door if they couldn't leave a package (required a signature).
Just delete the email and the attachment. It's garbage.

Have Tips On reducing .EXE File Size?

Hello,
Captivate exe file sizes are huge compared to comparable exe files produced by competitor software. I set my slide quality to Low, set swf conversion to 16 bit instead of 32 bit, set swf Size And Quality to 50%, and the .exe files are still huge. In fact, changing these settings made no difference to the file size.
Anyone have any tips on reducing the file size of the Captivate Exes, or do you know of any utility that can make .exe files smaller?

So far as I know, this blig post from the Adobe Captivate Blog explains what is meant to work

Check the list at the bottom of the page:-
1. Security Setting:   Ensure that the SWF you
published is in Flash Player's trusted path. If you are publishing to
default folder (%My Document%\My Adobe Captivate Project) then you do
not need worry about security settings as captivate automatically adds
that path into trusted path of flash player.
                               2. Disable accessibility: In order to make Right-click work you will need to disable Accessibility from
                               Adobe Captivate 4-> Preferences->Project->Publish settings->Enable Accessibility
                               3. Right-Click will not work in stand-alone SWF file.
                               4. PDF and AVI publish: Right-Click doesn’t work in PDF and AVI publish.
                               5. EXE publish: Right-Click work for AS2 EXE publish but not for AS3 EXE publish
                               6. Preview (F4/F8/F10): Right-Click work for AS2 movies but not for AS3 movies
                               7. Preview (F12, in Web Browser): Right-Click works for both AS2 & AS3.
                               8. SWF Publish (the standard one) : Works for both AS2 and AS3.

If you are complying with the suggestions here (AS 2 EXE?) then right-click is supposed to work. But I have a feeling I've missed something in what you've said ... or you said it in another post which I've not read.

There is no need to install the Oracle Forms runtime engine, neither your application files (Forms, Reports, etc.) on each client machine.
You can install the Oracle Forms software on a share file server where each client access the Oracle Forms engine and your application files. In that setup, you still need to configure the client Oracle registry to tell it where to find the files. You would not do that kind of setup on a WAN or slow client connections because it will take ages for the Oracle forms files to download to the client machine.
You can't create an exe with Oracle forms the same way you would in VB. Oracle Forms is a runtime engine and you need it to run your application.
The command line for your application will look like:
If installed on client machine:
C:\Oracle\forms6i\BIN\ifrun60.EXE <name of your main application form>
If installed on File server
F:\Oracle\forms6i\BIN\ifrun60.EXE <name of your main application form>
The deployment vehicule can be any of
- You physically go to the workstation and do the installation
- You provide a Web or server link (or through Microsoft SMS) where they can download and install the application files with instructions (this can be a batch file which will extract and copy all of the required files, Oracle Forms + Application files + update the registry). Don't forget that some Oracle files are installed within the Windows\system folder when you install Oracle Forms from the installation CD and are required to properly run any Oracle Forms application.

No surround mixer!!! soundblaster audig

Hello everyone,?I'm from Holland and i have a problem with surround mixer. I have a Creative soundblaster Audigy 2 with no install cd's. I have downloaded the newest drivers and my sound works. The onlything i can not use is the surround mixer. There is the mixer off windows but there i can not change the front, rear and center speakers. The EAX console i can use. I looked offcourse for solution and there is one. See http://www.tymes.net/swenum/fix-swenum0.htm. The problem is that i must install the Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator. The thing is, i dont know what Enumerator is or do. Can somebody try to explane this or translate this. I think this is the problem. What i have to know is the dutch for "Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator"?Can somebody help me please?Greatings,?Fred

Just select custom install and only install the apps you want, and make sure to uncheck the driver.

Stereo to 5.1 Surround Mix

How does one convert a stereo file to a 5.1 surround mix.
I've read through the various discussions & searched the web but have not been able to get help about this topic specific to Logic Pro.
I've got a 5.1 setup with all the panning done & I know about the bouncing of files for export.
My question is how does one actually convert the stereo file into 5 seperate files that sound right when played out together. What filters & setting must I use (delay, phase shift, levels) so as not to create an echo effect.
Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

depends on what you want to do by using surround.
talking about a music recording you can't simply convert a stereo recording into a 5.1 recording since you'd have to record to 5.1 in the first place. that means if you're recording an orchestra you need a 5.1 main system such as oct or oct2 or decca tree plus two mics to the back...that's necessary to capture the room's response.
of course you can always use digital (reverb) processing to beef up a stereo mix and add an artificial room response. but the results might be less than satisfactory.
and if you're into film sound you might want to have that airplane over your head...so you'd simply pan it.
i think you need to give us more input according to what you really want to do to get a useful answer...

How to enable Volume Meter in Surround Mix

This file "Mixer_LevelMeter.bmp" is in theme for Surround Mixer.

What sound card do you have? I don't have a sound meter option in the surround mixer for my Audigy LS or ZS cards. However, for the ZS card, I have a volume meter in WaveStudio. Also, the Creative MediaSource Player has meter bars. Have you tried those?Message Edited by Katman on 0-27-2006 0:08 PM

SCARBEE sample library only has .exe files. How do I install on PowerMac?

I've just got the SCARBEE J-Fingered Bass Library in Giga format. On the CD however, there is only a series of .exe files which I cannot get to work on my Mac.
Note, I do NOT have an Intel Mac.
How do I install the samples in OS X? - Do I have to install it on a Windoze PC first and physically copy the samples? - That wouldn't be ideal though would it, surely there's an easier way??
I'm a bit annoyed now. Nowhere in the requirements did it specify a PC was necessary. All help is appreciated.

If there is only a series of .exe files, an .exe file is a Windows executable file which is not compatible with Macs and requires Windows.
SCARBEE should have either presented a Mac installer

Can run .exe but cannot use .exe file with 64 bit operating system

I built an application in labview (32 bit) in xp. The exe file generated from the labview 2009 is able to function well in windows vista (32 bit). For this i installed run time engine and since my application requires vision tools so i also installed the vision run time engine 2009. The application reads values of a device (from microcontroller) from the virtual com port (through USB).
Now the problem is the .exe cannot response in Windows 7 (64 bit). For this i installed Run Time engine 2009 (for 32 bit) and also vision run time engine. The exe runs but does not read any value from the COM port and does not response any thing.
This is somehow related to 64 bit operating system.
Further to mention, the control input for 'VISA resource name' input of 'Visa Configure Serial Port' block generally detects the COM Port where the device is connected (e.g. COM1, COM2 etc) and used to display the choices (on drop down menu) but with 64 bit operating system this is not happening.
What could be the possible problem? I would be happy to know if someone has come across this problem or if someone can help me to solve this problem.
Simply i would like to run an .exe application build in 32 bit to run in an operating system of 64 bit. This application has VISA and Vision motion tools.

NI VISA is a software abstraction layer for different physical interfaces (e.g. RS232).
I understood that your application is working with this in order to select and communicate with COM interfaces.
MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer) is the tool to configure and test NI drivers, in this case VISA.
So if no COM shows up in MAX, you have a malfunction (or missing) installation of VISA.
