Ugrading EBS 11i to latest JRE

Up to now we are still using old browser (firefox 2.2) and jinitiator to access or prod EBS.
We want to migrate it to using JRE - https://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/jinitiator_13_to_be_desupporte
By using this docs > Deploying JRE (Native Plug-in) for Windows Clients in Oracle E-Business Suite 11i (Doc ID 290807.1).
My problem is our DEV and TEST instance shared the same server. I want to test upgrade the JRE for TEST instance first
and not DEV because there are lots of developers using this instance. Is this possible?

This is the docs I read:
Upgrade JDK version on HTTP server node
Per JDK vendors, JDK versions 1.3 and 1.4 are desupported.
Thus, a minimum JDK version of 1.5.0 is required on HTTP server nodes.
Please refer to Oracle MetaLink Note 304099.1 “Using J2SE Version 5.0 with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i”
to upgrade JDK on all application tier server nodes.

I need to make sure that once we upgrade, OA forms will still be available to our Win XP users. The note doesn't make any explicit statement about this.The certification matrix for Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) and Windows XP/Vista can be found in (Note: 285218.1 - Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite 11i). So, there should be no issues if you meet the minimum requirements in this document.

Cant Open Oracle Apps 11i Forms after installing latest JRE

We are currently on Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2. I had to install latest JRE 1.6 Update23 to be able to work on BI Publisher Templates and now I can't open any of the Oracle Forms under eBusiness Suite. IE just crashes, doesnt show any message on JInitiator Console either. Same issue with Mozilla Firefox browser.
FYI..I have a colleague who is able to work on both...BI Publisher Template Mgr and Oracle Fin Forms with latest JRE installed..So dont think its a server issue, its just my client setup. Any help is appreciated.

What is the difference between your client and your colleague client (in terms of client OS, browser, installed applications, ..etc)?
Do you meet the requirements in (Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite 11i [ID 285218.1])?
Can you reproduce the issue with Firefox?

How can I find out in EBS 11i whether application has been configured to use JRE or JInitiator when using Oracle Forms on Client's Desktop?

Opatch error while applying Windows patch 6 (9.2.0.8.0) on EBS 11i Database

Hi,
I am upgrading our EBS 11i database (9.2.0.5.0) to 9.2.0.8.0 by following note : 216550.1 (Interoperability Notes Oracle Applications Release 11i with Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0)).
I have installed Opatch 2617419 and then installed 6880880 (p6880880_101000_WINNT.zip) (OUI patch).
While applying Windows patch 6 (5916268) ,using opatch I am getting the following error:
OPATCH_JAVA_ERROR=OPatch Exception while trying to check for Mini Patchset
Cannot check bug/file conflict and component prerequisite checks.
ERROR: OPatch failed during prerequisite check.
OPatch returns with error code = 150
Any help to resolve the issue is appreciated.
I saw note +'OPATCH_JAVA_ERROR=OPatch Exception While Trying to Check for Mini Patchset' while applying patch using opatch 1.0.0.0.x [ID 971783.1].+
There are no '&' in the inventory file. There are a lot of '<'. I dont know if this note is applicable.

I am following section 2 only.
In Section 2, # 7 we have to apply latest Oracle Patching Tool (OPatch) patch 2617419 and in # 8 we have to apply additional 9.2.0.8 RDBMS patches ( in our case it is Windows patch 6.
I am getting issue while applying Windows patch 6 using opatch.

Upgrade Linux Server for EBS 11i

EBS 11i
RHEL 4.6
Our EBS 11i is currently running on HP server with RHEL 4.6 OS and a single node only. This server was bought 6 years ago and lately it is showing performance degradation. We want to migrate/upgrade to a higher end latest model of HP and make it a multi-node. But the latest HP model only support a minimum RHEL 5 version.
My question is, is cloning EBS 11i from RHEL 4.6 to RHEL 5 supported? How do I migrate EBS 11i with this kind of scenario?

We have an on-going (UAT) user acceptance test for a new setup EBS 11i on Aix 5L, for FINANCIAL MODULES(GL,AP,AR,CE,FA).
Currently, we still encountered error or bugs and need to apply some patch one by one.
What I want is a proactive way, which is a one time application of all the patches needed to run EBS 11i error free.

Post installation Error while installing EBS 11i on Win server 2003

Hi All,
can soembody give the guidens to resolve the below error please....!!!
I have done the below steps while installing
I have been following the below steps to install the EBS 11i,
1.installed in Win20003 server edition
2.VC++ and copyind the link file into windows\system32,
3.GNU make done the path set everything,
4.MKS tool kit,
5IP config and installing MS loopback,
---------->I have not installed the JDK<--------
started the installtion direct from the DVDs,
Pre-Installtion everything was OK,
but after done everything I got struck last min, where the popup window appeared as login page responding but i did wait for 30 min and nothing has
happened.
So closed and I restarted the System and I have restarted process putting 1st DVD and given the command rapidwiz -restart.from command prompt.
and Again its started as a new installtion, and preinstatltion wizard has came.

after above message nothing was happened and I closed this window and restarted the PC and giave the commance rapidwiz -restart from command window from rapidwiz directory from 1st DVD.

Error after an ebs 11i installation

Hi,
Could anybody tell me why I receive this error ("DAC-405: SessionInfo: Application module creation failed; className: AbmSessionAM") when I what to opne a forms in Oracle APPS EBS 11i ?
What I have to do ?

How could I start/check if ABM is started? If using JDK 1.1.8.x on the ABM middle tier:
$ ps -ef | grep -i osagent
$ ps -ef | grep -i jre Verify there is one osagent process and two jre processes (one for ABM and one for Gatekeeper).
If using JDK 1.3 on the ABM middle tier:
$ ps -ef | grep -i osagent
$ ps -ef | grep -i jre
$ ps -ef | grep -i java Verify there is one osagent process, one jre process (for Gatekeeper), and one java process (for ABM).
You also can sometimes search for the ABM process by looking for the Osagent Port number:
$ ps -ef | grep -i 14000 Where 14000 is the Osagent Port.
What I want to run is ABM Manager -> Activity Based
Management. However other forms are working well.
This error appears after a single tier installation.What do you mean by "other forms"? Do you mean other modules? If so, then this is normal.
Could you please verify ABM Installation by checking the following note:

Runaway Processes in our EBS 11i Server

RHEL 4.6
EBS 11i
I am confused with was is happening to our EBS 11i server.
I usually clear everything by shutting down all apps and db tiers process.
then I check ps -ef| and I see that there is no more appsmgr and oramgr id running.
But after a while....there will start some appsmgr process but no oramgr process I do not know if someone has triggered this process in crontab? but I can not idenfy which process starting it. I can see <defunct> status in the "top"
monitoring and it is consuming cpu and memory resources. I just can not understand why this appsmgr process can run without a database?

Oracle EBS 11i Installation issues

Dear All,
I am trying to install Oracle EBS 11i on Redhat Enterprise Linux 4.5
[oracle@machine1 /]$ cd /Stage11i/startCD/Disk1/rapidwiz/
[oracle@machine1 rapidwiz]$ ./rapidwiz
Note: i have started the installation logged as user oracle which is member of groups oinstall and dba
the installatio starts without warning but suddenly installation aborted by giving the message check the log
/u01/oracle/proddb/9.2.0/appsutil/log/PROD-macnine1/021804050.log to see the errors
when i checked the specified log file ,some errors found here described below

So at least I can install or clone it on the new server first because the Old server has now more space. Then I will upgrade

Can you give me link on how to upgrage the Apps 11i database 9i to 11g? Does it affect the Apps tier? Do I need to run autoconfig on the Apps tier? Or it only affects the database tier?I already did in your other thread! -- Big Problem in Cloning to Latest HP Server
You need to run AutoConfig in both tiers.

EBS 11i java error during clone.

Hi,
I am getting following error during the clone EBS 11i on IBM AIX 6.1.
applmgr@PROD11]/u01/oracle/prod11comn/clone/bin> perl adcfgclone.pl appsTier
ERROR: cannot find jre or java under /u01/oracle/prod11comn/clone/bin/../jre/bin
Please verify that you ran adpreclone.pl successfully

Hi,
check if any softlinks pointing to the source path under $COMMON_TOP/clone/jre/bin.
if not delete clone directory under $COMMON_TOP/ on target node
rerun adpreclone.pl on source node,
copy the $COMMON_TOP/clone fro source to target and retest the issue.
