[UI Shell] Tab Iterators being refreshed un-necessarily

Hi,
I have a noticed a strange but a grave problem in the UI Shell. When I open BTFs in my UI shell implementation say BTF-1, BTF-2 ,BTF-3; and I try creating a new record(any actoin) in BTF-3, then I notice that the iterators/bindings of BTF-1, BTF-2 along with BTF-3 to be refreshed.
Any recommendations to stop this propagating behavior.

Hi,
There are some attributes for iterator refresh and refresh condition did you try with them.
(Select bindings tab in your page then you can see available iterators)

EP 7 UWL - TAB is not refreshed on first check

I have customized my portal UWL so that only tasks are shown. I did this by deleting the navigation node entries alerts, notification and tracking in the file com.sap-pct.erp.mss.001. Of course I uploaded my new XML file with a new name. The relevant section now looks like this

Unfortunately I have the effect that new tasks are not directly visible when a user clicks on UWL.
Bevore changing the configuration, a user was on tab alerts and an automatic refresh was done when he changed over to the tab tasks - so that new tasks where visible. Now the user has to choose completed tasks from the dropdown and then go back to new and in progress tasks bevore new tasks are actually visible.
Can someone tell me how to change this behaviour.

Ok, I solved the issue with the task list not being refreshed, but it's an ugly solution that involved changing the SPA standard iView and UWL configuration.
I really can't suggest this solution but would recommend using the newest patch level available. As far as I heard, this issue should be fixed in SP16, but I can't verify this as we are stuck with SP14 till January 2009

The xml is not being refreshed

hello
i am trying to build an online calendar in which the user can
save his massages.
the problem i have is that once the user saved the messages
the first time, the next times he logs in the messages are not
being refreshed. meaning that the user will always see his first
messages and it does not refresh.
the way it works is that after u press save, it creates an
xml file that is loaded the next times.
if you delete the cache than the correct info appears.
i tried to research it but havent really figured out a way to
solve it. maybe its something to do with http headers i dont
know...

You can do this multiple ways, As you mentioned using conditional ibot also. You should have flag or indicator in your database saying that ETL load was done. Then based on conditional request run a ibot. But the trick is after completing this ibot you need to turn of the flag.
Other easiest way is Create a report which runs ibot, Make sure you checked Oracle BI Server Cache feed check box, save the ibot. At the end of ETL execute a command which runs the ibot job for you. There is a command mode application available in Oracle BI called SASchInvoke.exe. This application will run the ibot for you.

Open Firefox -> Go to View -> Toolbars -> Chechmark on "Navigation Toolbar"
this will bring back your address bar (where you type links to go to websites :P )

App tab doesn't refresh after restart of FF

I've added a new app tab.
I close browser and reopen after some time.
After browser open tab is not refreshed (displaying old content).
Is it a bug or intentional behaviour?

That is intentional. If you want fresh pages then use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the cache if you close Firefox.

Everytime I open a new tab, Firefox automatically refreshes the currently open ones.

When I attempt to open a new tab, Firefox automatically refreshes the already opened and loaded websites in other tabs.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Error : database is being refreshed

I am getting this error:
com.hyperion.planning.HspCubeRefreshInProgressException: Cannot complete your request because the database is being refreshed....when I try to do anything to the system.
I think the application is stuck in this mode because I tried to refresh it yesterday and the system crashed while it was being refreshed. It has since been rebooted but I'm still getting the error. The whole problem goes back to trying to delete an Enity member. I got the warning that all data and planning units would be deleted...etc., but I want to delete it anyway. I then tried to refresh and it crashed the system. Any ideas?

The application is probably locked you can use HspUnlockApp utility to unlock the application, it is in the \planning\bin directory

Switches to email tab without being clicked when i recieve new email

So far a D for FireFox.
Chrome was SLoooooow. But FF does things without being told to

I like to keep my email tab onscreen so I can look at email when it arrives. But now FF switches to that tab without being clicked. when I get new email.
How do I stop this very very aggravating issue? Can't type, cant even click, Nothing will work until the message is seen in "new mail". THEN I can switch back to the tab I'm using.
Also how do I have FF open Adobe reader to view PDFs . All I get is a blank background.

If Safe Mode solves the issue, the behavior will be related to an Add-on.
Just disable all of them and start activating one by one until you replicate the behavior. The last one that you have activated will be the one that is causing the behavior.

Pinned google+ and facebook pages opens new tab instead of refresh.

Using pinned aps for facebook, clicking 'facebook' icon to refresh sometimes opens it in a new tab. Clicking refresh in pinned google+ tab ALWAYS opens in a new tab. Don't want a new tab, I want refresh current tab.

Just to add, this only happens when the ap tabs are pinned. When they're out in the field, they always refresh normally.

I created provisioned one user in Shared Services and then assigned to a group. After this I went to workspace in advance mode in order to manage security filters, the user does not appear and when I try to "create" an existing user, an error appears: Cannot complete your request because the database is being refreshed
I'm not running any refresh in the database and my EAS does not show anything. What could be happening? It is Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3

because the option [Don't load tabs until selected] dose not work with it, and it keeps starting every time when I restart Firefox.

Firefox 32.0.1. Win7. When I click on a tab Firefox immediately refreshes the page. Before this the last copy of page stayed until I manually refreshed.

In the last couple of days since the last upgrade to Firefox I've noticed a major change in behaviour.
It used to be that when I started Firefox and clicked on one of my tabs I would be presented with the web page as it looked the last time I looked at it. I then had the option to refresh the web page either by forcing it to load again or by selecting an option within the web page.
Since the last automatic upgrade in the last couple of days ago when I click on a tab after starting firefox it's immediately going off and reloading the web page from the html address.
This has two problems:
On some sites I have configured information within the page about my preferences. Normally I click buttons within the page to go forward or back a page. With the new bejaviour I'm takne to default page and have to manually re-enter all my preferences and filters again.
Second problem is on many sites I can a list of where I was at the last time. I then know which articles I;ve already looked and can then remember where I was at the last before updating. With the new behaviour I don't know where I was.
How can I get the old behaviour back ?
I'm running Firefox 32.0.1 on up to date Win7 .

I've kept investigating this further.
I've now found that this is a cache management issue.
I found that the cache options (Tools-Options-Advanced-Network ).
The Cache file on Firefox was set to a limit of 350 MB and the Cache was using 350 MB of storage.
I tried clearing the cache.
After I cleared the cache I found that when I had loaded a web page after I shut down Firefox and restarted and went back to the tab it loaded the web page as it had been the last time I visited.
This suggests that the problem I was encountering was that the cache was full and that rather than clearing out old content from the cache that once the cache filled up Firefox stopped writing new data to the cache.
I also note that the button labelled "Override automatic cache management" was ticked. That would tend to suggest that Firefox was being told not to delete old content when the cache filled.
I've now unticked the "Override automatic cache management" box and will see how I get on.
