UIX Table: Very complex (?!) data presentation

Hello,
I will define this problem using HR schema object on Employees table.
What I need is to present the data from this table in the following fashion:
DepartmentId-> | 10 | 20 | 30 | ...
EmployeeId | 200 | 201 | 114 |
| | 202 | 115 |
| | | 116 |
| | | 117 |
| | | 118 |
| | | 119 |
I did see something similar done i JSP using tree but I really need this in UIX.
Furthermore, I would need to provide a user with the 'select' button on the top of each Department Column that will then select the current DepartmentId which is later needed to add new employees.
Any idea? Best Practice?

Actualy I don't think you need HGrid. A simple table would do since you can bind tables to DataObjects too. You don't have child nodes so a simple table would be more apropiate.
I don't know about the button on top of each column though. I don't know how or even if it is possible to do this.
I have never used a table bind to a DataObject and I have to look into it but I beleive it's working.

Not sure I understand what you are trying to do.
If you have a table and a form based on the same data on one page you see the already existing data in the table. If you don't want to see the existing data in the table while entering a new row, the simplest solution would be to
a) hide the table after the use hits create new row or
b) navigate to an other page which only shows the form

Trans Code to check the Date of Termination in Setup Tables-Very Urgent!!

Hello BW Gurus,
I need to check the date of termination I have given while filling up the setup tables to verify when my delta loads would stop running. NPRT transaction code just gives me the time it took to fillup the tables but the date of termination is given as zero's, so please can someone let me know how to see that.

If I understood it right, you wanted to predict when the actual date of termination would occur or you wanted to know what parameter you did input on the job that is now running?
Case 1:
As far as I know, that Info cannot exactly be determined since it will depend on various factors e.g. CPU speed, I.O. Speed, Amount of data to be process etc. etc. which I dont think SAP could predict as exact as possible (if ever an option was provided).
During the early stages of our project, we did that but we base the run time from history. Meaning, we always log (on top of existing SAP Job Logs) the run times in Excel and we somehow use that data to predict the actual Date of Termination.
Case 2:
In case you wanted to see the parameter while its running, I have no suggestion but for you to debug the currently running program.
In SM51, click the Active job and choose menu Program/Mode->Debugging. On the fields on the lower left portion, type RMCSNEUA-DATUM (got this value when you execute the Table Setup, say OLI9BW; Press F1 on the date of termination field) this would give you the actual date you have provided.

Column / Row Spanning in UIX table

Hi There,
Anybody know how to achieve column/row spanning when using the uix databound table?
For example, i would like a table which looked similar to the following:

I get the impression that spanning can be done from looking through the BLAF standards at http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/blaf/specs/tables.html#banding_group_colrow, although maybe this just related to the table layouts (where spanning of this type is easy enough) and isn't applicable/implemented for the databound table itself?

BEx query design: defining VERY complex filters

Hello to everybody,
I have to build a query with a very complex filter and need some help.
I got two main characteristics (Cost Center and Cost Element) and I want to list all data in my InfoCube EXCEPT when theres certain combinations of this characteristics.
It can be resumed as follows:
   If     Cost Center = A   AND   Cost Element = Z
      OR
     Cost Center = B   AND   Cost Element = Y
   dont show results
   Else, show results
Ive tried using hierarchies but it adds the results in only one line per hierarchy listed and I havent been able to unfold data.
Ive tried using conditions but :
If I use only one structure (the one with key figures that Im already using), it requires all the cells to include a key figure, and I need some cells to define the filtering values that will be exceptions; those are defined as characteristics, hence the problem.
If I use variables instead of fix values to define the exceptions, I havent been able to enter a text as predefined value (Cost Center is alphanumerically codified).
If I use two structures, the second one is a characteristics structure, so the problems listed above are solved, but then I have to define a condition based on both structures... and havent found a way to make it work!
Ive been thinking on using exception cells but it wont work, will it?
Maybe creating more simple queries and glueing them together would work, but can it be done?
And last, maybe I could create a new InfoObject concatenating Cost Center and Cost Element, and a table with the filtering values to serve as reference, but I dont know how to do it and if it will work.

Hi A, how's it going?
In the rows I`ve put Cost Center and Cost Element. In the columns a lot of key figures (about 8).
I think excluding the exception values in the filtering area is not possible because the requirements are so complex It's necessary to use a estructure and It can't be placed in this area.
Excluding those values from selection... well, I've tried everything I could think of! Any idea?

UIX tables and RangeSet

Hi to all;
Let's suppose that we have an view object with 100 records and we are browsing at an common UIX table lets say (1..6 lines) iterator rangeSize = 6;
Some event where called and that view object changes the CurrentRow to the 50th record;
Just like an Browse and Seek records page;
How can i tell to UIX Table that the CurrentrangeSet was changed ?

But i think that i do not make myself clear;
The problem was when we have an UIX Table browsing records and we change the underlined ViewObject CurrentRow to some row that was not between the actual rangeSet.
Uix table behavior was just not making self refresh of it's data;
Just few hours after posting here i came to this code; and seams to have solved the problem;

Table not showing data after refresh

Hi gurus ,
A unique problem We have added a field in the custom table . once moved to quality system it is not showing up the data whwn when we do a select query on that table in se16 . say total entries are ten thousand four of them are checked and when display not checked i.e eq space we get just 100 entries on number of entries ..i asked to regenerate the table in quality system but it did not help .The Quality system was refresh 1 month ago and we see it not working after it ..please suggest the correct steps we need to perform to recover the data . Adjust database with keep data has already been done ...

If I understand well, your issue is that you have a SELECT in your program, saying newfield is your newfield, something like:
SELECT ... FROM ztable INTO ... WHERE newfield = space.
and it doesn't return the records that existed in quality before newfield was added.
It it because, by default, when you add a field to an existing database table, with records already present, they are assigned the NULL value, which is different from space.
They can be retrieved using WHERE newfield IS NULL.
Usually, to avoid this issue, when we add a new field, we tick the "no null value" checkbox for this new field, in SE11 transaction. That will initialize the field of existing records, to the initial value (space for characters, 0 for numeric fields, etc.) Note: maybe it can be counter performant for big tables...
Solution for your issue, run this code once:
UPDATE ztable SET newfield = space WHERE newfield IS NULL.

Maintaining Remote key in look up tables for Production data

SEE in DEV and QA to maintain the Remote key for Look up tables.First i have exported those look up table values and again imported with mapping Remote keys (clone the field and map it to Remote key.). By this i have maintained the Remote keys to all look up tables. Now for Production what should i do. Is it the same process extract all records from production into our desktop and then again import it using IM, clone the field and map it to Remote key.
1. Is this the right process?
2. What happens if there are huge data present in production how to proceed furthr then?

I dont see any problem with this method if I am getting it right
You are updating remote keys by reimporting lookup data, and this way you have multiple remote keys for data in lookup table,right?
This will help you to automap entries in Import process for different Remote systems.

Can "SPML Web Service Complex Data Type field" take multiple values ?

In Generic Technology Connector's -SPML design parameters section, Can we give multiple values in SPML Web Service Complex Data Type field?
If not, how can i call methods directly instead of calling them through a values of the "name" attribute of the "complexType" element in SPML Web Service Complex Data Type?
I need 'SPML Web Service Complex Data Type' to hold multiple values.And based on the request it has to initiate appropriate method of action.
Presently i have three methods add,modify and delete which i am calling through a single value of the "name" attribute of the "complexType" element in SPML Web Service Complex Data Type.
I want to replace this single value with multiple menthods , so that a direct interaction between the method,OIM and target can be established.

You'll need to create your own interface to the webapp database for those kind of data operations
by this, are you speaking of the internal BC database which stores web app schema data? That would be great if it were possible to update that programmatically because I need to use the List (Checkbox List) field type (for the search functionality), but I need to supply the checkbox options from a web app rather than by manually updating the list entered in the Fields view of the web app settings (shown below).
I'm curious if anyone else has tried this?
Again, my reason for needing to use the List (Checkbox List) field type is that the page which processes searches knows to expect a comma separated list for this field type and then appears to be parsing out the individual values for searching out web app items with 1 or more matching values. You're right that text fields (string and multiline) just check for 'string contains' matches, and this would be ok if I was only ever needing to search just one value at a time. Here's an example of what I might do:
Web App item field value (as recorded against the List (Checkbox List) field type:
8294877,8294878
Web App Search value (for this same field):
8294879,8294877,8294885
The search would return this web app item because the field contains 2 (1 or more) individual values even though they were entered into the search field in a different order. If this web app item were just a Text (string or multiline) field, the searched value is not a substring of the web app item's stored value, so it would not find a match. Hence the need to use Checkbox List field type.
The web app will have thousands if not 10s of thousands of records, so dumping them all into one big array or object and searching on the front-end won't be practical (though it works great on smaller datasets).

In database table field enter the following

For customized cube - ie cube names not starting with ' 0 '
Uncompressed Fact table - /BIC/F<infocubename>
Compressed fact table - /BIC/E<infocubename>
Dimension table - /BIC/D<infocubename>
For standard cube - ie cube names starting with ' 0 '
Uncompressed Fact table - /BI0/F<infocubename>
Compressed fact table - /BI0/E<infocubename>
Dimension table - /BI0/D<infocubename>
Click on display.
For DSO,
For standard DSO active table- /BI0/A<DSO name>00.
You use 40 for new table.
Click on display.
For customized DSO use- /BIC/A<DSO name>00.
An easier way is in the database table field, write the name of the cube/DSO preceeded and followed by ' * ' sign. Then press F4 . It shall give you the names of the available table for that info provider.
Double click on the name and choose display.

How to return complex data to PL/SQL pkg from java running in JVM

Hi, I don't know where could I post this question, so I post it here.
In Oracle, we could create object as type, and can pass it to Java (powered by JDBC I guess, but I don't know how to, if some one know, please tell me where could get the good document to teach me about this), but is there any way could return complex data (maybe in Oracle Object Type) to PL/SQL (not using long & seperated by sign string / using middle table)?

So what you should do is to use JDeveloper or WSA command line, to create a service from your store procedure and you will see that most of the work will be done for you.

Changes to master data objects must be captured for the For compliance purposes. The auditor allows you to be able to view and print an audit log of changes to master data objects for a chosen period. It is very common for external auditors to focus on what has changed from one year or quarter to the next to help determine the nature, extent, and population for testing. To configure and access your audit log, perform the actions listed with each of the following utilities.
Audit Trail is used to track the record changes.
The report RPUAUD00 gives all the changes done to the masterdata by any user anytime.
But, before using this audit trial, please ensure that the system hardware is well equipped as the audit trials activation would later become a performance issue as this would occupy a lot of space in the coming time.
