HI SAP BPC Experts,
I check the table UJA_SVR_DEFAULT in our BI system for BPC and i noticed that it contains a 'strange' record only in development system. The record's value for field is UJT_CHKPT.
can someone help me on this? Can you explain what is the means of UJA_SVR_DEFAULT table?

That is related to a "Checkpoint" in the BPC transport framework. It is used to make sure that certain steps are completed during the import of a transport request.

Page 23, Section 3.4 Item number 10 of the BPC 7.5 NetWeaver Installation Guide says to do the following:
2. Go to transaction SE38 and run program UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS.
This updates the settings in table UJA_SVR_DEFAULT with the Planning and Consolidation users defined earlier (step 2).
3.Assign a single domain user to each user type:
Planning and Consolidation System Administrator User - Enter <Domain>\<user name> in AD mode, or <CMS enterprise name> in CMS mode

If I use UJA_WRITE_SYS_USERS and then go in and assign a domain user for each user type, won't this overwrite what UJS_WRITE_SYS_USERS has updated? What would be the purpose of the defining AD users in this table? The .NET server install for BPC only needs the domain account for BPC Sys Admin, and the three ABAP users for BPC Sys Admin, BPC Admin, and BPC User.
My question is why do you need to "Assign a single domain user to each user type"?

I am not sure that you have answered my question. Let me try to add more detail.
No where in the installation do you enter the passwords for the <domain\Admin> or <domain\User> domain user accounts. In fact the installation guide only asks for the following in section 3.4:
6. Enter the System Administrator ID and password for the Windows Server that you are logged on to, then select Next.
11. Enter the System Administrator, Administrator, and User user IDs, together with their passwords, for the ABAP service users that were created during the ABAP server component configuration. For more information, see Configuring the ABAP Server Component [page 20].
So again, my question is why do you need to specify the <domain\Admin> and <domain\User> accounts in the UJA_SVR_DEFAULT table in NetWeaver?

BPCNW 7.5 SP7 - Unable to connect to backend after installation

Hi Experts,
I have installed the BPC NW 7.5 SP7 with CMS authentication but when i launch the BPC server manager, it ask for user id and password. But when i enter the password for the bpc_sysadm, it gives the error "unable to connect to backend Abap system"
I am stuck and urgent help is required.
In backened, entry in the table UJA_SVR_DEFAULT is the hostname of of CMS.
I dont have sapmsg.ini file under c:
Windows as shown in the below log. Does it matter?

Thanks for your reply. I tried using "BPC_SYSADM" and "BPC_ADMUSR" but for both the users I am getting the same error. i checked the servername in the connection wizard it is correct. I am doing this for first time after installation.
In the backend, i checked the table UJA_SVR_DEFAULT and the entry for all the 3 fields are as below
ADMIN    -- CMS hostname
SYSADMIN - CMS Hostname
USER -- CMS hostname

Cannot connect to abap server, please check your abap server connection

Installed new NW BPC 7.5 system on windows 2008 server but get the error as follows
when logon to BPC server:
"Cannot connect to abap server, please check your abap server connection".
"define system user group tab" is inactive in server manager also.
Server Diagnostic errors for SAP Server Connection:
Database Connection
Status Connection Error
as per note 1385864 but this note has not helped get past this status with installation.
User Type value is either set to Communication Data for all three users (BPC_ADMIN, BPC_SYSADMIN, BPC_USER).
and these accounts are not locked.
Any ideas for these errors?

Hi Aidan,
"Your logon id (domain\user) does not have SystemAdmin rights; some functionality
is disabled."
This is caused by the fact that the user you are logged in as isn't in the UJA_SVR_DEFAULT table, the SYSADMIN field needs to have a value that contains your user id (i.e. DOMAIN\USER) . You can set this up with the UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS program.

Aidan, sounds like something went terribly wrong during your activation process. Do this, Clean the appset with the UJS_ACTIVATE_CONTENT program and make sure that everything is completely deleted. Make sure that there is a lot of memory available for the activation and try it again.
It should work.

BPC cannot connect to ABAP server

Hello Experts,
I'm facing the following issue when installing SAP BPC NW 7.5 SP04
When the installation is done (succesfully) I try to login to the server manager and get following error message:
"Cannot connect to ABAP server; Check your ABAP server configuration"
In the diagnostic, it is also the SAP ABAP Server connection that fails.
I'm installing this with a domain user called BPCADMIN.
In the ABAP system I added this domain user to the UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS program.
When I check the table: UJA_SVR_DEFAULT I see 3 times the domain\BPCADMIN user.
In the log file I get following error:

I checked the 3 BPC SAP ID (BPC_SYSADMIN; BPC_ADMIN; BPC_USER). They are not locked.
And all of them are communication users. I set the rules according to inst. guide.
I run the UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS program too.
The UJA_SVR_DEFAULT table contains these lines:
ADMIN -> BPC_ADMIN
SYSADMIN->BPC_SYSADMIN
USER->BPC_USER
I tried to login manually with these users, it is OK. (they were dialog users )
(the .Net server and the SAP BI system are not the same machines. I think this is no problem isnu2019t it ) Firewall are off on both machines.
Can I create these users at the .Net server side and login to win server with them?
I set these SAP users to BPC server .BPC_ADMIN is the BPC_ADMIN and so on. Is it OK ?
I have no idea what can be the problem.
How can I check they are BPC specified users or not?

i've installed BPC NW 7.5, now i receive the error in subject when i try to logon from server manager, client, web...
Following sap note 1380518 i checked COM+ credential, but never changed.
The system was installed with CMS authentication, i created the user BPC_SYSADMIN on the DC with admin right on local server, the same user has admin rights on CMS also. I tried changing user definition (with domain and without) on server manager, on COM+ application identity tab, and in table UJA_SVR_DEFAULT on the Abap server, nothing happened.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanx for the feedback !! really appreciate it. Here is the response:
The COM components are ok, as well as the MSMQ and every other component you mentioned (also reinstalled it). I reactivated all "dictionary" to the 3 users created in ABAP, changed role to communication, and give SAP_ALL permission.
In the machine, changed the Default web site to port 81 (to let BPC website take port 80)
Reinstalled NET 2.0, set all components for BPC website to Net 2.0
Created the 3 abap users in domain and gave in both systems the same password.
Entered in the machine as the administrator user (also administrator in Netweaver) and started the installation without trouble.
After that, tried to run the server diagnostic but this user was lacking permits, so I added the 3 users (abap) in the local machine as administrators, in a new group called BPC (only giving the administrator role). Entered now in the machine as BPC_SYSADMIN and ran the Server Diagnostic without trouble.
After doing this, I now am facing an issue trying to add users to the 1° appset... choosing the domain users... however someone mentioned that this is related to the NET tier, is it better to reinstall this tier completely or at least try with NET 1.1, but im just about to find out.

BPC 7.5 Clarification on Installation Document

In Page number 23 in SBOP_PC_75_NW_SP03_Install.pdf under step 10
It says.
Define the .NET service user that is needed to log on to ApShell and run Server Manager by doing the following:
Stop the IIS and SAP Planning and Consolidation instances using the stoposoft.bat file. For more information, see Tips [page 41].
Go to transaction SE38 and run program UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS.
This updates the settings in table UJA_SVR_DEFAULT with the Planning and Consolidation users defined earlier (step 2).
When we execute se38 and run program UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS it asks to add system admin user we are giving BPC SysAdminUser as BPC_Admin which is created in step 2 as ABAP Service User,we have also created similar service user on our AD domain is this correct way or we are doing some thing wrong?
Do other users BPC Adminuser and BPC Users has to be created as Service users in AD Domain?
Could some one confirm regarding below step,I.e Is this a seperate step or we have to enter user details for program UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS step in the below specified format?

Users cannot process dimensions

Hi everybody,
We are working on SAP BPC NW version 7.0, SP05 and we cannot process dimensions, unless we use a specific user (the only one that appears at UJA_SVR_DEFAULT table). If we try to process a dimension with another user, the following message appears: Unexpected error in application server
What do we have to change in order a user created at BPC Admin can process dimensions?
Any idea out there?

MEMBER ACCESS PROFILES --> AdminMbrAccPrf, FULL_MBR
As there is no protected dimension for the application, the table at the second step when you modify each Member Access Profile, is empty.
Any suggestion?

Cannot access APPSET with CMS as Userstoren BPC 7.5

Hi everybody
We installed BPC 7.5 with connection to CMS since we have many different domains running. The IIS runs on a Wk8 Server Standard 64 bit.
When we try to logon or via client we get the message that no appset for user.
When we login via WEB /Osoft and click the Admin button we can't see any appsets.
My question is, since we are not using Domain authentication what would be the correct entries in the UYA_SVR_DEFAULT table in the NW System.

I believe you should have the following settings in UJA_SVR_DEFAULT for the SYSADMIN, ADMIN and USER fields:
SYSADMIN: Domain user that was used during .NET tier installation in the form DOMAIN\USER
ADMIN: _SYSTEM
USER: _SYSTEM

See if the table is empty UJA_SVR_DEFAULT, if you run the program and included users UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS Domain \ bpc_sys_Admin, Domain \ Domain and bpc_Admin \ bpc_user.
verify that the notes 1481751, 1448691 and 1479393 are applied.

Cannot find any domain in the add new user screen in BPC NW platform

Hi,
While adding new users in BPC NW, I can't see any value in the Avaialable domains dropdown. Hence I am unable to add any users. I am not sure if I have missed any any step during BPC installation.
Can anyone please help and suggest the cause of this error and also suggest the remedial action.

The BPC Installation guide says:
Make sure that the server is configured on the domain or a trusted domain by going to My
Computer --> Properties --> Computer Name --> Change. Make sure the correct domain is specified.

Application set at Osoft webiste visible only when IE run as COM+ user?

Hi,
we have installed BPC 7.5 SPS08 version for NW to one of our machines and configured it.
When we open IE and try to access Osoft website / Adminsitration - we are able to select Application set ONLY when we run the IE as the COM+ user which is set in Server manager (in our case <domain>\BPC_SYSADMIN).
When we run the IE as any other user we can not see any application set to choose from in pop-out window.
My question is - is this (with <domain>\BPC_SYSADMIN user) the normal and the only way to successfully load application set at Osoft website?

Hi Erik,
Are you able to logon to BPC for Excel or BPC Admin client with any user (not the COM+ user) and see any available AppSets/Applications?
If this is a fresh install and you haven't managed BPC security settings yet then this behavior would be expected.
On a fresh install you set up an admin user by running program UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS. You can check this on t-code SE16 and display table UJA_SVR_DEFAULT values.
Only this user will have access to APSHELL and you will have to use it to create new AppSets and grant new users access to them.

Osoft runtime errorr

Hello Experts,
I am facing a problem in opening BPC web for only one user id : Domain\user5 in all different clients, showing an "osoft runtime error". But while opening BPC web from the server itss showing "*RFC communication for user is invalid".*

Actually I am not facing any problem in BPC excel , the problem arriving at the time of opening BPC web using this user ID.
I have done the below to solve the problem no use :
1.I have chkd the table UJA_SVR_DEFAULT .
2.Ran the programm UJA3_WRITE_USERS
I dont thing this is due to configuration problem pertaining to the conflict in Antixss library as this problem existing only for five user/400.
If you throw some light on this to find the issue it will be great
