Ultrasonic fogger humidifinder vaporizer fogger

Hi. I want to make an ultrasonic fog generator.I have an special ultrasonic piezzo(whitch give out 1,6-2.4 mhz), so I have to make an cirtuit which give ultrasonic signal. I sure know it is 1.6 mhz or 2,4 Mhz its need for the ultra sound crsh water and made real cool (37 degree celsius) fog.
If you have Idea please write me........
so the quetion again ...: how can i made an oscillator circuit which give out 1.6-2.4 Mhz signal (like RLC oscillator).
Thanks....

in addition to JK answer:
Of course you can use a NI signalgenerator card (plus poweramp if needed)

  • How this light rays and fogg blue impression can be made in Photoshop or in illustrator?

    Hi All,
I am in dire need of your help, How can this special effect in attached image  can be produced. To be precise, I mean light rays coming from dj player and if  you notice there is blue foggy impression on tshirt , How these things can be  made in Adobe Photoshop CS3 or in Adobe Illustrator CS3?

    • create a vertical Gradient Layer black to nothing
    • create a horizontal Gradient Layer nothing to white to nothing
    • apply »Create Clipping Mask«
    • add black background
    • convert that whole stack of layers to a Smart Object or flatten it (being as CS3 will not support perspectival transformation of SO)
    • invoke Edit > Transform > Perspective or Warp
    • create a Gradient Map Layer blue to cyan (or whatever) and clipping mask it to that layer
    • set the Gradient Map Layer to Color and the Layer with the Gradient to Screen (that way it should work on all backgrounds)
    • if necessary apply some Gaussian Blur to the gradient layer

Oddly enough I just read about ultrasonic testing last week (I dont use it but was looking into it for an unrealted issue)  And a c-scan is a scan over an entire surfece at a specidied depth.  Where an A-scan is a the raw ultrasonic data and a B-scan is a line of A-scans.  A double check of my memory might be needed.

  • Acquiring data from an ecoder and Ultrasonic sensor

I have a controller card PCI-7340 and UMI-7774, connected to my PC, I want to implement an autonomous vehicle through mounting a quadrature encoder for velocity and position feedback and an ultrasonic sensor for obstacle determination and avoidance, and I am implementing now a fuzzy controller to make a control system capable for moving the vehicle, but my problem that i don't know how to acquire the data from the encoder or the U/S sensor in order to enter it to the Labview code, knowing that I am using a PWM circuit for speed control and amplification of analogue voltage out from the UMI-7774, if u have an example or u can give me a guide to how implement this on Labview.

  • Need urgent help to use or modify the "ultrasonic starter kit"

Hi, I am a french student, and I am working on an ultrasonic table with Labview 7.1.
On the one hand, I have done the control of the table that moves the "probe?", and on the other hand I have done the program that read the picture given by EPOCH (an ultrasonic system that detects interfaces into metals).
So, now my goal is now to mix them to make a map of those interfaces (one gives the position (x,y) of the probe and the other a graph with intensity peaks).
I have found the "ultrasonic starter kit", and I would like to modify it, but I need help to remove the part that simulates the graph of intensity in order to replace it with mine and to remove the part that simulates (x,y) position to replace it by my positions that are controled in the same order. (y decreases each time x>constant).
In case you would like to help me and need my work or a better description, please contact me to : [email protected]
    François-Xavier MAYAUD.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I think it would be easier for you to start from a blank VI, than modifiying the example you found which is quite complex. Try to use an intensity graph with inputs as your data.

  • Water damaged iPhone - Ultrasonic cleaning?

Hi, I have managed to kill my 16GB iPhone G3, it might be smart but unfortunately it can't swim. I have emailed a few repair companies. ipaqrepair.co.uk has offered me free diagnostic and said they can repair some water damaged units using an ultra sonic bath.
Does anyone know if ultrasonic cleaning could possibly repair my phone? Anyone have any experience of using this company.
Any advise on this matter would be much appreciated, I love my iPhone and am totally gutted, I kept it in a bag of rice for about 4 days to dry it out, it won't respond at all, when I plug it into my computer it detects it but gives an error message.
    Thanks, Nev

Ultrasonic cleaning of iPhone components in DI water and alcohol might remove some corrosion and contamination, which theoretically could solve your problems, but it will certainly not repair any shorts or other electrical issues. If they will attempt to clean it and only charge you if it works, it might be worth a try. Doesn't sound like you've got much too lose since it sounds like it's a brick now. Another option is to take it apart yourself and attempt to clean it, perhaps with alcohol and/or a spray electrical cleaner.

  • A-Scan from the Ultrasonic Starter Kit

    Hallo,
I've a problem concerning the USonic_A_scan.vi from the "Ultrasonic Starter Kit" downloadable at the VI-Website
    (http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niepd_web_display.display_epd4?p_guid=F248370C3F141D78E0340003BA7CCD71)
My task is to measure and detect the amplitude and delay of an
ultrasonic signal, for this purpose the functinality provided within
the "USonic_A_scan.vi" would serve perfectly, but yet I'm not able to
determine how the ampltuide measurement exactly works.
    Here's my problem:
When a change the vertical position of my gates, the value returned for
the amplitude changes (The horizontal position and the width of the
gate stay constant). Why? Is there any other (comfortable) possibility
to measure the amplitude within a certain "gate"?
    Thanks in advice!
    Benjamin Brück

The backwall echo measured amplitude is stable WRT gate height in the example. The front wall amplitude jumps around a lot. Assuming that you are looking for a single echo then there is a lot of noise in the signal in relation to the peak detector.vi width setting. The width is set to the default value of three which means that it will look for inflections based on three sample points. If you set it to 8 then the front wall echo amplitude stabilizes, even for changes in gate height. Whether that makes sense in terms of an ultrasonic measurement is another issue as the peak detector width, the transducer frequency and the sample rate are all tied together here. The peak detector vi is not going to return the sample within the gate that has the maximum amplitude, it is going to return an interpolated value based on a curve fit over a certain number of points, where the first derivative of the fitted curve is zero, indicating an inflection.

  • Ultrasonic c-scan using LeCroy LT342 scope and NI motion controller

I imagine this may seem simple, but can anyone help me get started trying to set up an automated ultrasonic c-scan rig using a NI stepper control card and a LeCroy scope hooked up via a NI GPIB card? I have some knowledge in wiring up motion control hardware, but not so much in setting up any software. I would like to be able to use an interface to pick the x and y axis scan space and step size, and also control the scope a little. The data display and storing features would also be something I haven't yet worked out. I have used WinSpect software, and something of this sort (except more configurable on our part) would be good if you have ever seen this software. Is there a good example piece of code I could possibly start and build from? Thanks!

    denyart,
You might get more responses by posting to either the Instrument Control board or the Motion board. We do have an instrument driver for the LeCroy LT342 for LabVIEW and CVI here:
    LeCroy LT342 Instrument Driver
That should get you started off on the right track as far as the instrument control is concerned. As far as Motion is concerned I would recommend posting to the Motion board! Hope that helps!

  • Help in the programming of the Hc-sr04 ultrasonic sensor

Hi im new in labview, i have to connect the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to the SensorDAQ, and i have to measure the distance betwen the sensor and an objetc, i have done a little program but the distance is very erratic, and i have seen an example but i dont underestand all the code in the example, so i dont know how to change it to do what i need, later today i will put the to vi's, the one i did and the one i have found, my code is very short adn the code i found i terrible long.
If my program is bad, can you tellme where adn why? or is not the code the sensor requieres please tell me.
If the example i add the code i really need can you explain me all the parts, and how to change it in order to function with the sensordaq.
Can you tell me how to wire the sensor to the sensor daq? i will add my connection diagram and photos so you can help me.
I have to make a tank sensor with the data of this sensor, and control a stepper motor with it, if the level is less than 20% use the stepper to open a valve, is its gratter than 80% close the stepper.
Other thing i need is when the level of the tank is gratter than 80% another mottor, non steper have to be turned on and must be running for a set time. when this set time is over a signal of "empty the tank" must be displayed.
I think is a lot of help what i need, i have wired the stepper mottor(bipolar 4 wires motor)  and i make it run, i dont know how to make it run in either direction so I have to fix this.
I'm going to add photos and my vis later today, please helpme, the most important thing is to make the sensor to work.
    THANKS FOR THE HELP.

    Hi nmerzul.
There are two ways to perform DAQ tasks. One is with the DAQ assistant (the one that you are using) and the low level steps (the one of the example). Basically they both work the same. The difference is that you can configure all the settings in one step with the DAQ Assistant and with the other method you can do it step by step. I modified the example with a lot of notes so you can understand the functionality of each step.
Now, to help you with the wiring of the sensor and the DAQ, could you tell me what DAQ you are using?

  • How to create a voltage output based on an ultrasonic sensor input

For a school project we are trying to use an ultrasonic sensor to control the voltage sent to a group of leds. We calibrated the sensor and determined six different voltage levels that we wished to output to the leds based on the voltage input to the sensor. We set up a labview program and were going use one of the mathnodes that allows code to be written to send a signal to a case structure to send the output voltage. Each case has a different output voltage associated with it. We can't seem to get the math node to work with the case structure to get an output. I have attached a screen shot of our block diagram and a copy of our .vi file. If anyone has any input it would be appreciated.

    Hello,
Have you used highlight execution or probes to confirm the output of the Mathscript node? Also, though LabVIEW is coercing your output, it is not best practice to wire a double (floating point) to a case structure (discrete cases). I would recommend changing the data type to an integer.
Please let me know the results of the probe steps.

I have tested the Ultrasonic sensor using the brick and it works.  However, with the program I have written gibberish numbers appear such as 950 or 150.  I know I'm missing something but I don't know what.  I suspect it's something with the flatten to string like I'm not just flattening a number but the cm or in string value.  Thanks.

  • Distance measurement using Ultrasonic sensors and phase shift method

    Hi,
I've recently started a project where the idea is that we have an ultrasonic transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter will send out a signal at 40 kHz that will hit some object, most likely a book, and reflect that signal to the receiver. The received signal should have a phase difference from the outgoing signal. Now, when we vary the outgoing signal, the phase shift should also change. Likewise, if we vary the distance to the object, the number of wavelengths that can fit in between the object and the transducers should also change. We would multiply the incoming and outgoing signals and measure the beat signal, but I'm not sure how we would do this in labVIEW. We can calculate the distance to the object by figuring out what d(phase)/d(frequency) is. So far, when I am having problems with actually getting an incoming signal and figuring what that phase shift is. I'm not sure how I could use simulate signal to accuately and precisely send out a 40 kHz sine wave, and then vary that signal by steps of 1 Hz. I have also tried using a signal generator, and having once BNC cable go to the input of the transmitter and the other going to input of the DAQ. I have another BNC cable going from the output of the receiver to the input of the DAQ. I had multiple channels on my DAQ, and used split signals to see the transmitted and received signal. But this doesn't seem to be working. I also tried to add gain to the received signal, but when adding an Op-Amp LF356 to the receiver, the signal completely disappears. Attached are some of the VI's I have, but none of them seem to be working. Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you done the basic physics and mathematics? For the speed of sound = 343 m/s and the frequency = 40 kHz the wavelength is 8.6 mm. At 40.001 kHz the wavelength is 214 nm shorter.
So, how do you propose to keep track of the number of wavelegnths if the target moves more than 8.6 mm?
To measure a phase shift you must have some kind of reference. Typically a fraction of the transmitted signal is used as a reference.  Since you probably do not know how much phase shift occurs in the power amplifier driving the transmitter or between the electrical signal at the transducer and the acoustic signal in air, it is usually best to measure both, ideally with the same receiver and amplifiers.
The LF356 should be good for modest amounts of gain. The transducers can look like a capacitance to the circuits. Do you have a DC offset which is saturating the amplifier?

  • IMap Mail Vaporizes

My wife and I run the business with two macs and my iphone all using mail accounts set up as imap accounts. The problem is that they do't stay in synch with each other unless you quit mail and come back and the biggest issue is that emails just periodically vaporize - disappear - vaporive. Nothing in Sent, nothing in Drafts, just gone.

I should switch to a different ISP.
This has not been my experience with MobileMe . I have two computers on 24/7 looking at the same IMAP account and checking for mail every five minutes. I move mail around on whichever is convenient.

  • Parallax ultrasonic

    All,
I'm attempting to use a Parallax Ping Ultrasonic sensor #28015 with a c-RIO robot for the FIRST program. Problem, the sensor sends and receives on the same 5v pin and the c-RIO wants two DIO ports, one receive one send. Can anyone assist with a programming solution to send and receive on the same DIO pin?
    Thanks

    jdam,
I just happen to have used several Ping sensors, and while I didn't have the luxury of a cRIO (just a Freescale HS12 something-or-other) I think I may be able to help.  My first question is:  What DIO module are you using?
For anyone else reading who may be unfamiliar with the sensor:
The sensor waits for a trigger on it's sole I/O line (why they didn't just use two lines, one for In and one for Out, I'll never know) and then starting 750us later returns a pulse who's width is proportional to the distance to the nearest object.
    http://www.parallax.com/dl/docs/prod/acc/28015-PING-v1.3.pdf
So you need to be able to tristate your output to the sensor and start reading back data in less than 750us.  I'm not an expert on cRio modules, but it looks like some of them are capable of being inputs or outputs, so you might be able to accomplish your goal by simply switching the pin to be an Input right after you give it a pulse.  Since the tHoldoff is specified starting when your output goes low, you'll probably have to place a weak pulldown on your IO pin so that when you turn it into an input the sensor sees a 0.  Again, I've never tried to do this with a crio module so you'll have to figure out if you can meet that timing.  I imagine that the code would look something like:
Configure Pin0 as an Output --> Output a 1 --> Wait for 5us (tOut typical) --> Configure Pin0 as an Input --> Start reading Pin0 until it goes to 1 --> Continue reading Pin0 until it goes to 0
Another option (if your module doesn't support bidirectional ports) is to use an external buffer with a tristate pin like one of these ($0.40 for four) which can probably be ordered in DIP form from Mouser or your favorite distributor (I like Mouser because they can get things to Austin, TX in usually less than 24 hours).  This would require TWO outputs from your cRio (one to drive the Trigger pulse and one to control the tristate) and one Input.
