UN/EDIFACT and ASC X12 Templates in Java CAPS 5.1.3

Hi,
I wonder whether we have the OTDs for UN/EDIFACT and ASC X12 messages in Java CAPS 5.1.3;It is not found in sun documentation after CAPS 5.1.0;Those were available earlier in ICAN too.
If we don't have these in 5.1.3 it is very difficult for migration from earlier versions as well as for new development in EDI.
Please let me know if any one of you are using the above OTDs / templates in 5.1.3 or if you have any idea how to process them in CAPS.

They are now part of the B2B suite documented here: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/coll/1650.2.
However the libraries are essentially the same, therefore the upgrade should be easy.
Note that B2B2 Suite 5.1.1 runs on Java CAPS 5.1.3.
Please contact SUN Support: if you have the libraries for a previous release of ICAN of Java CAPS, the upgrade should be part of your contract.

Business Rules and Business Intelligence in Java CAPS 6

Dear All,
I have two doubts.
1. Is there any way to add a Business Rule component and write Business rules in Java CAPS 6? As you may know, this is possible through eInsight in JCAPS 5.1.2.
Is this feature readily available in Java CAPS 6? If yes, can you please let me know where it is?
2. Are there any Business Intelligence tools in Java CAPS 6? If yes, what all things we can do with that?

It sounds like you are talking about a Rules Engine - not necessarily a Business Process Manager..
Also it depends on what you mean with "rule".
The approach I mentioned previously about IDS-Scheer's Aris meant that a Business Process is modelled in Aris - that is the focus is on the business developer. However the actual implementation of the business process would need to be developed by a Developer. Likewise if a change is performed in the Business Process it would need to be retrofit into CAPS for implementation.
When it comes to Rules Engines, Sun has a partnership with Yasu. Yasu have implemented their Rules Engine as a JBI SE, which would work with the JBI part of CAPS6, OpenESB or Glassfish ESB. More infor can be found at:: http://www.businesswireindia.com/PressRelease.asp?b2mid=12735.
I am not aware of any explicit "business intelligence" functionality in the CAPS -suite.. Looking at the Jasper Suite however, the CAPS suite does have ETL functionality, no built in reporting, but a Master Data Management System (http://developers.sun.com/docs/javacaps/products/sun-mdm-suite.jsp), which I belive could assist decently when it comes to data quality and data source prioritization concerns.
When it comes to Jaspersoft there are examples of how to build a CAPS6 JBI BAM solution using Jaspersoft's IReport (Netbeans Plugin), which in turn uses JasperReports.

Passing Values to a BW Template through Java - Dynpage

Hello All!
-I have one Java-Dynpage Application. I have created an
Iview from that PAR file.
-This Dynpage accepts some input from user(say his employee number) and displays some data from SQL server.
-Now I want that when the user enters the input and clicks submit button, these values should be passed to a BW template to execute the BW report based on this input.
-In other words, i want to display another Iview which will display a BW report based on the values passed from my Dynpage.
<b>Is it possible to pass the values to a BW template from java?</b>
If yes, how do i do it?

You can have two Iviews:
1.Your existing Java Iview
2. Standard BW Report as an Iview.
when submit button is hit on Iview1. Use EPCF to pass values to Iview2.Then build your new bw url based on the values you get from iview1 thru EPCF.
Search for EPCF on sdn.
So , yes it is possible to pass values to a BW template from Dynpage or JSP using EPCF.

if the data is multiple i.e. line items choose table.
if the data is single i.e. fixed choose template.
Create table
> Draw u r no lines
> choose option select pattern
> select display framed patterns
Choose u r required one.
out lined, or full lined. u can choose option.
same procedure to be followed for template also.

Error while opening supplier/customer forms and payment manager templates

we are having 11.1.0.7 database and 12.1.1 E-business suite with 10.1.2.3 forms
user is getting

while accessing supplier/customer forms and payment manager templates and this gets resolved after bouncing the application. the current instance is a staging one and this will be replicated to production so please help or suggest any solution or work around

There should be a link on the error page for further details about the error. Can you post the contents of that error link page ?
Pl also check the Apache logs for any errors - see MOS Doc 419839.1 (How to enable Apache, OC4J and OPMN logging in Oracle Applications R12) for name and location of the Apache log files.

Allow "Signing" and "Creation of Template Pages" in Reader XI

Hi.
I have created a form in Adobe Pro XI that allows the (Reader XI) user to insert additional templates pages by clicking "button X". The form also provides the user a Digital Signature field to sign the document.
In order for the user to be able to use the Digital Signature field the file must be saved as a "Reader Extended PDF" with the "Enable More Tools" option. This however, disables the addional templates option.
Is there a way to allow for both "Signing" and "Creation of Template Pages" in a Reader document?

What do “document assembly” and “creation of template pages” mean?
I am a print graphic designer who usually handles the printing for a particular client who does long reports. I also give them a low resolution PDF for email circulation and posting on their website. They are now want to use the PDF for other purposes such as creating PowerPoint presentations that they will do in house. Therefore they have asked me to unlock all the security options -- that quite frankly I never even dealt with. Specifically they want to “allow document assembly, commenting, signing, and creation of template pages.” Assembly, commenting and signing seem innocuous, but will document assembly and template pages have significance for me as a graphic designer? I'm not sure what these two functions are.

“creation of template pages” is for the creation of template pages for forms

Editing and changing a template in Dreamweaver

Hi,
I'm using Dreamweaver, v.11.0 in Windows 7. I have a template with a bunch of web pages that use it. When I edit and save the template, it resaves all of the pages that use it (as it should). However, when someone who has used my site before opens one of those page, they get the page that has been previously cached, and they don't see the updated page or template. Is there a way to save the pages so that users will always see the up-to-date template and content?

You don't mix them. Pick one or the other.
However if you want to have a text version and an HTML version, so that mail readers that don't handle HTML can see regular text instead, then you could produce a "multipart/alternative" message. There's an explanation of how to do that in this article:

I would like a user to upload a text file to a webpage and have a pre-existing Java application I created process the text file and return the results to the user. The Java application is fairly memory intensive. It is expected that multiple clients will be uploading at the same time. What is the simplest or most efficient method to achieve this?

As done in this example, processing the uploaded file in the JSP itself may not be a good idea though. You're better off handling it in your controller servlet or action class.
