Unable to assign name the fast way

Hello,
Switching over to Aperture from iphoto and having a little problem with the face recognition part. When I am in a project on a selected picture and click name (N) the face label comes up. I then have to click the box (with mouse) and write the name, then move over to the next picture and do the same thing.
My question is how do I select the label via keyboard so I can quickly type the name and move to the other pictures. I remember in iphoto it was tab, but I have tried everything and this is not working for me. Any help would be great since this will save me lots of hassle and time.

I am not able to get your technique to work, also in Aperture 3.0.2.
I've just now tried it in v3.0.2 on my laptop and find that I share your problem. When I responded earlier, I had been using it on my iMac (my main machine) which is running Aperture v3.0.1. (The alternative explanation of the difference in OS's - 10.5 and 10.6 - is probably less likely.)

Sorry. I realise in hindsight that this was a poor description. I was meaning for you to click in the border around your photo (probably either left/right or top/bottom) but still inside the viewer. This was rather than clicking on the photo itself, although I've now established that this should not cause any problems. I was thinking of situations where the current tool might not have been the selection tool (the arrow) and perhaps have led to unexpected behaviour. However, it seems that when you press N it cancels Crop, Straighten or whatever tool might have been selected.
I can't see this change in behaviour being deliberate, so the more people that log it as a bug, the better the chances of it being fixed in the next patch.

I really understand the definition and usage of Alias created in the Hierarchy & Taxonomy.
But is there any reason that am unable to assign or use these Alias Nodes in the referencing tables.
for example: Sales representative hierarchy by Region:
USA
- TX
     Agent1
- WI
     Agent2
- MI
     Agent3
- CA
     Agent1 [Alias]
Product table am using the above hierarchy and unable to assign/use the Alias node.

Hope you must have seen the below explanation about Alias
Sometimes, you may want a group of products to appear in more than one location in the hierarchy tree, so that they can be found in various ways using drilldown search. A node alias provides just this ability, and allows products assigned to a single node to appear in two or more locations in the tree. For example, in a repository of gifts, you may have a hierarchy that lists all of the holidays, and you may want u201CChristmasu201D to be found in the tree under the node u201CChristianu201D (if navigating by religion) and the node u201CDecemberu201D (if navigating by month).
Add Internal Leaf cannot be used for Children because you can directly use child nodes in the reference table and for parents you have Add Internal Leaf option if you want to assign parent node to the reference table record.

How can I change the text layers to a specific color at the same time and in the fast way?

Dear all!
I am using Photoshop CS5. I typed 65 text layers in my file and wish to change their colors to a specific Black Color, but I don't know how to select all the layers at the same time so that I can change all the text layers from Red Color to Black Color in the fast way. Now I only select one layer and then change. It means I must select and change 65 times for the text layers. Hope you can understand what I mean.

One way is to select all the text layers, select the type tool in the tool box
and set the color from the tool options bar.

Moved Songs, Need Help Matching them up the fast Way

Hi,
Recently i organised my "ITunes Music Folder" with different genre's of music to help me keep it organised because i seemed to never be able to find anything. Once i had moved all my music into various genre folders and then artist folders within them i knew what i dreaded was coming. I didn't wanna have to inport all the files again from the new location because then it would lose "The Play Count" and have ive named them in ITunes. So i have been doing this.
Clicking on song then right clicking "Get Info" then Yes. then My Music > ITunes > Compilations > House > Artist Name > Then eventully finding the song.
This is a extrememly slow process when you have over 2000 songs to match up and i remember a long time ago although i forgot say if your matching up a album instead of going into My Music > ITunes > Compilations > House > Artist Name again it would allready be in the last place i was at so i could just click the song so matching a album would be much faster then going through the long way.
The problem is when i match up the song now i have to go through My Music > ITunes > Compilations > House > Artist Name every time.
Any Advice or help is greatly Appreciated.

There is not a fast way to match them up when you have changed the folder structure that iTunes uses to organize its database folder of iTunes songs.
However, if you reimport them, while you will lose play count, the names you have assigned the songs in iTunes is written to the file's ID tags, and should be retained.

Update JTable model col through header name in fast way

old day, i update my JTable model through the way :
tableModel.setValueAt(aValue, rowIndex, jTable1.getColumn("HeaderName").getModelIndex());now, i am adding a feature to my table, where the user can remove column.
when user remove the column, is just the JTable GUI column being removed,. the underlining TableModel column is still there.
my new feature will broke my above code.
hence, i change my code to :
for(columnIndex=0; columnIndex<columnCount; columnIndex++) {
     String name = tableModel.getColumnName(columnIndex)
     if(name.equals("HeaderName"))
          tableModel.setValueAt(aValue, rowIndex, columnIndex)
}instead of looping through, is there any way i can retrieve the column model index in a fast way?
a way i can think off, is inherit from DefaultTableModel, and add a map member, so that it can directly map the header name to col index.
is there any better way?

i don't know why but the KeyListener does work fine with another application that i have also created Not a good solution. First of all the column still exists, so the user will tab from one column to your "hidden" column and wonder whats happening.
The correct solution is to remove the TableColumn from the TableColumnModel. You can still access the data in the TableModel:
table.getModel().getValueAt(...)
No need to use the convertColumnIndexToModel.

HT3180 unable to restart in the above way

I have read several articles but am unable to restart my Apple TV 2.
My nephew updated it for me I now have a black TV screen and when I attach it to my computer it is not recognised by ITunes

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

I am unable to use adobe, the only way is through adobe chrome

There's no software called 'Adobe Chrome'. I think you are referring to 'Google chrome.'
Simply click on the 'Cancel' button to cancel the download, if that's what you are referring to.
In order to download another software, you can go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads
Please be specific as to what OS you are using and the Adobe software you wish to cancel / redownload as it's difficult to make out what you are referring to.

What is the best way to get my bank (small bank) to participate in this program (Apple Pay)??

I also would like to know the faster way to do this, I tried to call the bank and according to them they don't know anything, so at this point I'm like who do I need to talk to about this great program? Nobody knows....please help thanks!!!

System Center Virtual Machine Manager SC VMM 2012 SP1 Installation fails: Unable to assign the name NO_PARAM to this host because this name is already in use.

I'm trying to install VMM 2012 SP1 on a Windows Server 2012 machine and it fails with this error,
the scenario is as follows,
Old database (from 2012 RTM) exists on remote SQL 2012 SP1 server
Server was 2008 R2 SP1 so I decided to make a fresh installation of 2012 with the same name
installed ADK
specific error: 01:42:13:VMMPostinstallProcessor threw an exception: Threw Exception.Type: Microsoft.VirtualManager.Setup.Exceptions.BackEndErrorException, Exception.Message: Unable to assign the name NO_PARAM to this host because this name is already in
use.

I had a similar problem today when upgrading from SCVMM 2012 RTM to SCVMM 2012 SP1 RTM. To re-create the issue you describe originally you can actually just uninstall SCVMM 2012 SP1 RTM with "retain data" option and re-install the software on the same
computer (with the same name of course), attaching it to the retained DB. If you change the SCVMM server name I believe it will make some things go wrong after your install, like missing VM template passwords for example as the data gets encrypted in
the DB. Maybe it didn't but I didn't risk it. I definitely know if you change service accounts on a scenario like this you will be without the encrypted DB data which isn't much fun. To avoid changing the computer name, if you look in the setup log
files in %systemdrive%\ProgramData\VMMLogs\, specifically the SetupWizard.log file. You will see details on it failing because the same computer name is in the DB table "dbo.tbl_ADHC_AgentServer" and until it is removed from that table I wasn't able to get
the install to complete at all. The error in my logs looked something like this "InnerException.Type: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException, InnerException.Message: Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'unique_ADHC_AgentServer_ComputerName'. Cannot insert duplicate
key in object 'dbo.tbl_ADHC_AgentServer'. The duplicate key value is (computername.is.writtenhere). The statement has been terminated." In the row data in the DB it also seems to suggest that the computer name had "Virtual Machine Manager Library Files" on
it which is strange since I always remove the local SCVMM server as a library server after I install it and use an off box library server.

Webservice Directory API - Unable to Assign Folder name to the Objects

I am trying to use Directory API to create ID Objects through API. I have referred blogs of Bill Li - /people/william.li/blog/2008/10/20/directory-api-development--part-1-of-3
We are able to create ID objects using this API but unable to assign an object to a folder.
I have Folder Structure like
\IBM\ - for IBM
\HARTFORD\ - for Hartford.
So we are trying to create all the ID object under the vendor folder like IBM. When we run the program the objects are getting created but those doesn't show up in the specified folder and we have no errors/warning in the logs. We can still see them created in Object View.
Interesting thing is that there is no folder issue in our older system PI 711_00 but in new system 711_06 has this problem. I am not sure what casing this issue in our new system.
Please let me know if you have any idea on this issue.

We had the same issue here (EX 2010, 2008R2 DCs).
This is my solution:
I found out that after putting the user into the group that gets full access for the mailbox, I have to log off and log on the user from his/her workstation, then resart the exchange information store and voila -> access granted !
Logging off and back on the user seems logical, because group membership will only change after the next log on.
Restarting the Information Store seems logical, if , as I guess, Exchange only does group expansion on a periodically basis (I didn't had the time to check and wait..)
But if you restart the Information Store before the user has logged off (even with outlook closed) and then log off/on he user, access will not be granted. I really don't understand this behavior.
Maybe there is someone out there with deeper knowledge of Exchange/AD that can explain this.
The solution with "Read Members" didn't work. I think the Exchange Servers already get the "Read Members"-Right through their membership in "Exchange Trusted Subsystem". That group has the right in question.

EDIT: Now I found out that it has to do with the Kerberos tickets for that user in question. As long as there is a ticket with the old group memberships, the restart of the Information Store doesn't update the access rights. klist purge (on all clients the
user is looged on to) before restarting the information store does the job too. Maybe this is about Exchange SID caching.

if you cannot find with that way or you need to know more than one query in 'one go', you can try
table RSRREPDIR type in queries technical name to field COMPID (use arrow icon 'multiple selection) to get COMPUID, then go to table AGR_HIER SAP_GUID = COMPUID, AGR_NAME is the role name.

HT4009 I'm in Subscription **** on the iPad. Is there an App or faster way to determine current Magazine subscriptions?

How can I easily be sure I don't already have a magazine subscription or a single issue in Newsstand (or Zinio) when confronted with a purchase option. Is there an App or faster way to determine this information? Both Newsstand and Zenio have seen fit to "hide" this data deep in another App or menu, perhaps as a marketing tool to get you to buy multiple copies of the same magazine. I travel for a living and buy and delete digital magazine all the time. Sometimes, I buy them and am unable to download immediately due to slow WiFi or restrictions in airports, this adds to the confusion as what I have bought, deleted, or never downloaded, especially with multiple readers. Additionally, the App store manages current subscriptions on one menu and single purchases in another. I love reading on the new iPad, but the management of subscriptions has been an absolute nightmare. Is there another Newstand App that is easier to use or perhaps a Subscription Management App?

What's The Best Way to Assign Keywords to Multiple Images?

I'm finally starting to organize my photos with keywords, but something about the way it works in LR2 is driving me batty.
I came back from a concert Saturday night with over 1,000 photos (double coverage by me and my wife). I'm trying to use keywords to designate the 14 different performers who appeared on the stage at different times during the evening, when there could be anywhere from 1 to 7 performers on the stage at the same time.
Now, it seems to me the easiest way to assign these keywords would be:
1) select a series of photos in which one or more performers appear
2) in either the "keyword suggestions" or "keyword set" panel, click on the keyword "buttons" I've already created from the performers names.
But this doesn't always work. I note that when I highlight a number of photos, ONE is more brightly highlighted than the others, and sometimes, that's the ONLY one that gets the keywords I just clicked on. Apparently, that one image is more "selected" than the others in the series I've highlighted.
It would not be quite so infuriating if that approach didn't work at all, but the oddity seems to be that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and I don't know what I'm doing different when it does or doesn't work.
What does work universally is to to the "Keyword List" panel and type in the name I need, and then right click when the name comes up and select "add keyword to selected photos." That seems to work every time.
Or, I can type "Click here to add keywords," type in the name I need, and hit return twice. That assigns the keyword to all the selected images. But then I have to do it again for every performer that appears in that series of frames.
Like I say, the easiest scenario would be the 1-2 step I outlined above, but I cant seem to get that to work all the time.
Anybody know the trick to getting that 1-2 scenario to work every time?

Oh, wow. I have exactly the same problem of LR not assigning keywords to all my selected images.
I will try the grid, select the grid and not the filmstrip, and look for the current image metadata checkbox as well.
BTW, Adobe told me to delete the preferences file, which I did.
They told me to optomize the catalog, which I did.
And, lastly they told me to create a new catalog and import all the data from my old catalog, which I did not do.

Wow, that is it. You folks solved my problem.
Library Mode, select in the grid OR filmstrip (yep-but harder to see in the filmstrip anyway),
COULD NOT FIND-look for the current image metadata checkbox as well.

The Best Way to Assign an Enum to the Corresponds value of a String?

I am reading from and xml file configuration file. The data being returned is stored as a String and corresponds to a Enum value. My question is - What is the best way to assign the enum the value that corresponds to value of the string?
public enum Names { BOB, FRED, JIM, SAM }
String name = "FRED"; // This is the data retuned from the xml file.
Names n = // I want to assign n the value of Names.FREDI know I could do an "if" statement. However, this is a contrived example with only a few enum values. In the real world, this enum list could be quite large.
I have looked into reflection, but I don't know whether there is an easier way to achieve my objective?

But in this particular case a simple "note that enum classes have a syntetic valueOf() method that does foo bar baz" in the body of the class documentation would have been a nice guesture (especially since that part is pretty small here anyway).
And yes, I also think that the length field of arrays should find some mention in the JavaDoc. I don't know how and where, 'though.
