Unable to connect to Admin Server from second machine using WLST

Hello,
PROBLEM
Can't get WLST to connect to admin server from 2nd host to register the domain.
SETUP
I have 2 Centos VMs running on Oracle Virtual box in a single laptop. Both the VMs use "Bridged Networking".
VM-1 CONFIG
cat /etc/hosts
192.168.1.17
dom1 dom1.my mac1
192.168.1.51
centos2 mac2
VM-1 hosts admin server & one managed server
VM-2 CONFIG
192.168.1.51
mac2
192.168.1.17
centos1 mac1
VM-2 hosts just one managed server
I can start up admin on VM-1 fine. The node manager is reachable too. Both the VMs are can be pinged from each other. I can also telnet to the admin server's port ( telnet 192.168.1.17 7001) from the second server.
My HOST OS is Windows 7. I can ping from windows to both the VM IPs too. The reverse is working fine as well.
I've tried both mechanisms of copying the whole domain from machine 1 over to machine2 & also using the pack.sh/unpack.sh combinations to transfer the domains.
When I invoke WLST, this is what happens
./wlst.sh
CLASSPATH=/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/patch_wls1036/profiles/default/sys_manifest_classpath/weblogic_patch.jar:/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/patch_ocp371/profiles/default/sys_manifest_classpath/weblogic_patch.jar:/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.25.x86_64/lib/tools.jar:/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/wlserver_10.3/server/lib/weblogic_sp.jar:/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/wlserver_10.3/server/lib/weblogic.jar:/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/modules/features/weblogic.server.modules_10.3.6.0.jar:/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/wlserver_10.3/server/lib/webservices.jar:/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/modules/org.apache.ant_1.7.1/lib/ant-all.jar:/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/modules/net.sf.antcontrib_1.1.0.0_1-0b2/lib/ant-contrib.jar::/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/utils/config/10.3/config-launch.jar::/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/wlserver_10.3/common/derby/lib/derbynet.jar:/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/wlserver_10.3/common/derby/lib/derbyclient.jar:/apps/prod/appservers/weblogic/wls_10_3_6/wlserver_10.3/common/derby/lib/derbytools.jar::

Please could you help me fix this? I've spent 3 days now trying numerous things without much luck :-(
Kind Regards

Hi Raj,
Issue is with NM registry with domain home. Please follow the below steps and let us know the status.
1 . Check whether the node manager port ( default 5556 ) is opened for communication on both Admin and Managed server.
2 . After opening the port - We would need to enroll the node manager home with domain home to establish the communication between Admin and Managed server.
   a .  Start the Administration Server.
   b .  Using the Administration Console update the Node Manager credentials from the Advanced options under domain_nameArrow symbolSecurityArrow symbolGeneral.
   c .  Invoke WLST and connect to an Administration Server using the connect command. See Using the WebLogic Scripting Tool in WebLogic Scripting Tool.
   d .  Run nmEnroll using the following syntax:
        nmEnroll([domainDir], [nmHome])
Running nmEnroll() ensures that the correct Node Manager user and password token are supplied to each Managed Server. Once these are available for each Managed Server, you can use nmConnect() in a production environment.
Note:     You must run nmEnroll() on each machine that is running a Managed Server. Additionally, you should run nmEnroll() for each domain directory on each machine.

  • New install issue-unable to connect to DB server from a remote client.

    Hi experts,
    I am new to setting up oracle server so pls bear with me...
    I setup a db server (11g on top of 64bit Oracle Linux) at home (static 192.168.1.90). I verified that db, listener are up and running. However, I tried to connect to the server from a different client machine (192.168.1.108) within my home network but the server cannot be reached. I was able to ping both client and server using the IP addresses and hostnames. I followed the following steps to perform troubleshooting but was unable to move on beyond step 3, telnet-ing the server on port 1521. Can someone help me out what I should do make the port # (1521) is reachable by the client?
    1. Check with "ping" using the IP address ("ping 198.11.34.43"
    2. Check with "ping" using DNS name (e.g. "tnsping uranus")
    3. Try telnet to the IP on port 1521 (telnet 1.2.3.4 1521)
    4. Check with "tnsping" using TNS service name
    5. Invoke SQL*Plus from the OS command line "sqlplus fred@flintstone". If this fails, check to ensure that your listener is the flintstone service defined.
    6. Sign-on to SQL*Plus and connect with the TNS name ("connect fred/flintstome@service_name"
    7. Within SQL*Plus, try a select from table@remote_db_link
    thanks a lot in advance.

    Is COPY & PASTE broken for you?
    It is really, Really, REALLY difficult to fix a problem that can not be seen.
    use COPY & PASTE so we can see what you do & how Oracle responds.

  • Unable to connect to WSUS server from the console

    I am not able to connect to WSUS server from WSUS console any more suddenly! "please verify that IIS on the server is correctly configured and is running'. I find out that Windows Process Activation Service is stuck in starting.
    I killed it with taskkill command but I am not able to restart it. It gives 'Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion'.
    There are some suggestion online but I am not comfortable with those solutions, I prefer to be guided by Microsoft TechNet, thanks.

  • Cannot expand IDM cluster due to unable to connect to Admin Server

    Hi everyone.
    When I was configuring HA on IDM node2 for ODS managed server and ASinstance, I met the strange situation:
    - I choose expand cluster on IDM configuration wizard windows (oim_11.1.1.7.0)
    - I entered the admin server address, port, username, password, all of them is correct because I tested them on all nodes and from my remote laptop
    - when I hit the Next button, that error occured:
    INST-07242 Unable to connect to Oracle Weblogic Middleware Administration Server
    Make sure Oracle Administration Server is up and hostname, port, user name and administration password are correct.
    I don't know what the reason of that error. On the Metalink I watch the doc ID:1324425.1 but the solutions mentioned to earlier verions than mine. So that I cannot apply that solutions.

    I am using Oracle 10g Jdeveloper and I tried to setup a database

    (I had no problem to set up a connection to an Oracle Database using the
    Oracle JDBC driver).
    When I am testing the connection throughout the wizard, I do receive
    this error message: "Unable to find driver:

    I m not understanding from last 3 days where to place the corresponding JAR files so thaI may not get the Error.

    Obviously it can't locate the Micrososft JDBC driver but I can't
    figure out why.
    I tried all kind of things without any success. Is somebody can help
    me and took me beyond this.
    I m trying to build DataSource connection from JavaBeans.
    Please make me out of this cave. I m not finding any of the way to do this.
    The last code I tried is
    try {
    Class.forName("com.inet.pool.PoolDriver");
    com.inet.tds.TdsDataSource tds = new com.inet.tds.TdsDataSource();
    tds.setServerName( "local" );
    tds.setDatabaseName( "bluff" );
    tds.setUser( dbUserName );
    tds.setPassword( dbPassword );
    DataSource ds = tds;
    Connection con = ds.getConnection(dbUserName,dbPassword);
    Statement stmt;
    ResultSet rs = null;
    Thanks,

    you are confusing me at least as your error is discussing the microsoft driver yet you are configuring the inet datasource.
    I do not use JDeveloper, but you need to make sure that whatever is servicing your web app/JavaBean has access to the driver. Not sure why you are not doing a JNDI look up of the resoure, but because you are not you can stick the driver jar in the lib directory within the WAR bundle. I would suggest that you add the driver to the lib/ext or the lib directory which is loaded at boot time for your web container and then use JNDI to look up your DataSource to reduce your coding maintenance headaches.

  • Connect to sql server from 10g webforms using exec sql

    Hi
    We are embarking on a project to upgrade our 6i client server forms to 10g web
    based. One of our forms uses the exec_sql package to open a connection to an MS
    SQL Server database and execute queries on that database.
    Oracle open client adapter and an odbc driver for SQL Server is installed on
    every client to achieve this. I have read that open client adapter is no longer
    available on 10g.
    I also read that there a feature of the Oracle database called Generic
    Connectivity which would allow us to install an odbc driver on the database
    server and allow us to connect to sql server. However I discovered that this
    feature is not supported on TRU64 - the operating system our database runs on.
    I have read about Oracle Transparent gateways but I have been informed that they are not supported from forms.
    Is there any alternative? How can our webform connect to sql server and execute
    queries against it? The sql we need to execute is already sql server compliant so no translation is required - just a simple pass through
    thanks
    paul schweiger

    I used in the past Forms 6i against DB2 on a mainframe through Transparent Gateway for DB2. So I'm wondering who did you tell such a configuration does not work. And the migration guide states:
    /* Open Client Adapters (OCA)
    In order to provide platform-independent access to a wider range of non-Oracle data sources, use the Oracle Transparent Gateway and Generic Connectivity solutions in place of OCA. */
    At least gateway is mentioned.

  • No suitable driver when connect MS SQL server from Oracle 10g using JTDS

    Hi,
    I have developed a java servlet application connection to MS SQL using jtds-1.2.jar. I have try to deploy this application to Oracle 9ias and it works fine.
    However, when I deploy the same application to Oracle 10g (10.1.2.0.2), I encounter this error - java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver.
    I have copy the jtds-1.2.jar to Ora10g/jdbc/lib, Ora10g/j2ee/home/lib and also the Ora10g/j233/OC$J_GENERAL/applications/sampleApp/sampleApp/WEB-INF/lib folder, and also setup the data source via the EM interface. The data-source.xml entry is as follows:
    <data-source location="jdbc/ess" class="com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource" xa-location="jdbc/xa/essS" ejb-location="jdbc/ess" connection-driver="net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver" username="scott" url="jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://202.xx.xx.xx:1433/sampleDB" inactivity-timeout="30" name="ess"/>
    </data-sources>
    Is there any configuration that I've forgotten to set?

    Is there any configuration that I've forgotten to set?The JAR file needs to be in a place the container can locate it correctly. This is the applib directory for your OC4J instance.
    Which I believe from what you have entered is:
    Ora10g/j2ee/OC4J_GENERAL/applib
    There's a general JDBC 3rd party driver set of documentation here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_11/web.1012/b14012/datasrc.htm#sthref592
    This is not using jtds-1.2.jar but it shows how another set of 3rd party jdbc libs are used with the server.

  • Connect oracle db server from differenet machine

    Hello expert,
    here is my simple scenario:
    computer1 --- oracle 9i database server
    computer2 --- perl script
    I want to user perl (on computer2) connect oracle database(on computer1), how can I implement this?
    Thanks a lot,
    Grace

    You have to have a client in the computer2 in order to access remotely to the first computer. After you install your client you have to create a service name to access to Oracle that is located in the first machine.
    What Operating System you have in your computer2 ?

  • Cannot acess file on server from client machine using java web start

    Hi everyone,
    I am creating an appication using JWS and Apache Web Server version 2.0.54 on Linux. I am trying to access a file on the server that IS NOT inside the jar file. I have given full access (r, w, x) to all users on my server. We also created a FilePermission object and gave the file read and write access as well. But when we deploy the program and try to get this file, a SecurityException is thrown with the following mesage:
    acess denied (java.io.FilePermission filename read) where filename is the file in our local filesystem. Any suggestions on what I can do?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Raj

    It sounds like you are trying to access the file as if your JNLP application were running on the server. The JNLP app is running on the client machine, so you will need to use a URL to open the file. Take a look at the JavaDocs for the following:
         java.net.URL
         java.net.URI
         java.net.File
    You also need to be sure your server is configured to serve the file. For example, you ought to be able to access the file through your browser using something like http://www.myco.com/myapp/myfile.txt. (How you configure your server is a topic for a different forum.)
    You probably also want to look into JavaWS security, and even Java security in general to determine if you need to sign your app or not. Here are some links to get you started:

  • Error calling report FRM-41213 unable to connect to Report Server

    Hi,
    I have installed Oracle Database 10g R2 and Oracle Developer 10gR2.
    I installed it in both Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP SP2.
    I would like to call a Report using a button inside Oracle Form.
    I create my own Report Server, using : rwserver server=repsrv
    A Java-based window appear OracleAS Reports Sevice, and showed that repsrv is ready.
    In Form (inside a button -> WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED) :
    1. Using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT()
       rep_id := find_report_object('REPORT10');
         if not id_null(rep_id) then
           v_rep := run_report_object(rep_id);
         else
              message('Null');
       end if;
       a. If I did not specify the name of the Report Server in Reports node of Form's property object
    (I leave it blank)
    The following error appear :
    FRM-41211: Integration error, SSL failure running another product
    b. If I specify the name of the Report Server : repsrv
    The following error appear :
    FRM-41213: Unable to connect to Reports Server repsrv
    2. Using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT()
    a. If did not I specify the server name in the parameter
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://localhost:8889/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'|| SUBSTR(v_rep,INSTR(v_rep,'_',-1)+1)||'?'||,'_blank');Another web browser appear and the following error appear :
    REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server rep_<computer_name> failed
    b. If I specify the server name in the parameter --> server='repsrv'
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://localhost:8889/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'|| SUBSTR(v_rep,INSTR(v_rep,'_',-1)+1)||'?'||'server=repsrv','_blank');Another web browser appear and the following error appear :
    REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server repsrv failed
    In Report :
    If I try to navigate manually to :
    1. http://localhost:8889/reports/rwservlet using web browser.
    It showed OracleAS Report Services - Servlet Command Help page.
    2. http://localhost:8889/reports/rwservlet?userid=scott/tiger@orcl&report=D:\PRACTICE\FORM\MODULE1.JSP&destype=cache&desformat=html
    The following error occured
    REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server rep_<computer_name> failed
    3. Finally,
    http://localhost:8889/reports/rwservlet?server=REPSRV&userid=scott/tiger@orcl&report=C:\PRACTICE\FORM\MODULE1.JSP&destype=cache&desformat=html
    The following error occured
    REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server repsrv failed
    4. Any attempt to different command (i.e showenv, showjobs, etc) seems failed
    If I did not specify the server then REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server rep_<computer_name> failed
    If I specify the server - 'repsrv' then REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server repsrv failed
    5. I have tried to use rwrun in command line.
    rwrun report="D:\My Documents\form\module1.jsp" userid=scott/tiger@orcl destype=file desformat=pdf desname="D:\My Documents\form\module2.pdf"
    The PDF file created and it looks exactly as the web layout as in Oracle Report Builder (Run Web Layout CTRL-R)
    Question :
    1. What supposed to be done?
    The Report server is ready, but the web browser seems unable to connect to Report Server.
    2. Can we used or call or executed an executable command line from Form (using PL/SQL inside button)?
    Any help would be grateful.
    Many thanks,
    Buntoro

    Hi,
    Problem solved.
    I got the solution from another post.
    Re: REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server rep failed
    Here are the step I did.
    Note : Please make backup for the following file : rwnetwork.conf
    - In file rwnetwork.conf, remove or commented the following
    <multicast channel="228.5.6.7" port="14021" timeout="1000" retry="3"/>
    - And then uncommented
    <namingService name="Cos" host="%NAMING_HOST%" port="%NAMING_PORT%"/>
    - replace the
    %NAMING_HOST% with your computer name or specify an IP address
    %NAMING_PORT% with 14021
    It should look like this :
    <namingService name="Cos" host="blahblah" port="14021"/>
    - I did not change the : name="Cos", since I do not understand what does it for
    - Save you changes.
    - Start the OC4J.
    - Find the location of : namingservice.bat (on Windows platform)
    - execute in the command line : namingservice.bat 14021
    - finally start the report in the web browser
    Note:
    To shutdown the namingservice, use : namingservice.bat 14021 shutdown
    Regards.

    Hi,
    Few things to note:
    1. Are you using Java Admin launchpad or the .NET one and if its Java then is it deployed on the same machine as this custom java application?
    2. Looks like this app is running off JBOSS and JBOSS is unsupported for Enterprise Web application Deployments.
    3. You can trace on the CMS and see if its actually getting the request from the application.
    Thanks
