Unable to count nodes

Hi,
In a BPEL process I am working on there is an assignment activity where I assign the count of nodes as a result of a database query. This assignment is failing and am not able to figure out why.
Here is the bpel fragment for the assignment
*<assign name="Assign_1" bpelx:validate="yes">*
*<copy>*
*<from expression="ora:countNodes(bpws:getVariableData('Receive_1_receive_InputVariable','VvwshFmsHeadersCollection','/ns3:VvwshFmsHeadersCollection/ns3:VvwshFmsHeaders/ns3:vvwshFmsDetailsCollection/ns3:VvwshFmsDetails'))"/>*
*<to variable="FMSDetailCount"/>*
*</copy>*
*</assign>*
I am polling the database for some parent-child records. The intention is to count the number of child records in the collection.
Thanks in advance for your time and help. Please let me know if additional information is required.
Harish

Hi,
Just to be sure, my first solution is different from your solution, this is the one you tried ?
Mine : ora:countNodes('Receive_1_receive_InputVariable','VvwshFmsHeadersCollection','/ns3:VvwshFmsHeadersCollection/ns3:VvwshFmsHeaders/ns3:vvwshFmsDetailsCollection/ns3:VvwshFmsDetails')
Yours : ora:countNodes(bpws:getVariableData('Receive_1_receive_InputVariable','VvwshFmsHeadersCollection','/ns3:VvwshFmsHeadersCollection/ns3:VvwshFmsHeaders/ns3:vvwshFmsDetailsCollection/ns3:VvwshFmsDetails'))

Hi Sasmit...
i was facing a same problem recently...i can see the B2B adaptor giving the file as input to my BPEL process but the count is coming as zero...then what i did was..i tried copying the value of an element in the input variable...i cannot copy the value too...So, then i figured out that when i defined the document definition in B2B console, we will be giving the XSD file right...that schema file is not in sink with the file being picked up...may be i might have done amistake while generating the XSD file for a particular document in B2B Editor...then later i created the document definition i mean the xsd file in B2B Editor and used that new XSD file in my document definition...then i could access all the data in my BPEL process...
Just try this..,may be it helps.
Thanks,

• Unable to create node /home/ SID adm with type directory

I am currently experiencing a problem when trying to install a Java Stack onto my new SCM 7.0 EHP1 server.
I receive the error:
System call failed. Error 89......mkdir..../home/djdadm....
(djd is the SID of my new Java AS)
This is followed by an error:
Unable to create node /home/djdadm with type directory
We have Solaris v10 (SPARC), and the ABAP stack has already been installed successfully.
The user djdadm was created manually on solaris before starting the installation (assigned to groups sapsys, dba, sapinst + oper) and the home directory "/usr/sap/DJD/home" was specified.
Note the difference in the home directory that it is trying to create to the one that we set against the new user djdadm.
This error is experienced quite early in when SAPINST is performing the tasks (and it stops at the Create users for SAP system stage).
I was experiencing a problem where SAPINST crashed completely for a while, so I've downloaded the latest version of SAPINST today. Also, I've set a new TEMP folder and am running SAPINST from there, but am stuck at the problem mentioned above.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello,
It looks like a Solaris issue. Check if the home directory /home is reserved in the Solaris configuration.
You may try this in that case:
1. modify /etc/auto_master file to change the entry for '/home' to say
'/autohome' instead
2. reboot
3. rmdir /home
4. ln -s /export/home /home (make sure /export/home exists)

• Unable to set node credentials...

I have setup the server as an OD master, and up until now it hasn't had problems binding, although I haven't been able to get any users to authenticate for any services, other than my local admin account.
I haven't made any changes, but now when opening ServerPrefs, I get the following error:
"Unable to set node credentials for /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 with the record name server.mydomain.com$ There may be a problem with the Open Directory service."
Any ideas where I went wrong?

It isn't something that a patch is going to cure.
I believe it does have something to do with the network and probably therefore the ip address / naming as the authentication does seem to be tied to the network location.
I've managed to move things on a little in that I have bound user accounts on other machines such that when someone logs onto their laptop it will tell them they have an account on the server and provide a logon after which their account is bound and (I think) marked as 'managed' in their Preferences | Accounts. This provides additional sections in iCal and Address Book although these don't work. The only person who can log into the web stuff such as the wiki is the server admin and I still can't access the Server Preferences or authenticate the Server Admin so can't make much in the way of changes.
I've submitted my application to Apple for support using the card provided with the Mac Mini. This was last Thursday and I've not yet received confirmation that this is live. As soon as it is I'll be having a long conversation with Apple Support.
I sort of sympathise with Apple as the server is clearly at least an order of magnitude more complicated than the admin involved with just a desktop. Having said this, however, they do need to get this sort of thing sorted by making it slicker, providing more online support for these problems if they have any aspirations towards the smaller office or even home environment which don't have dedicated IT support staff.

• Unable to set node credentials for /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 with record name n`.

When starting Server Preferences, I receive a window with the following text:Unable to set node credentials for /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 with record name n`. There may be an error with the Open Directory Service.
This started to occur after I used the command changeip to change the ip of the service.
I've tried (Re)starting Open Directory Service, but that doesn't resolve it.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this error? I'd like to be able to user Server Preferences again!

One of our servers (10.6.8) that had been running for months suddenly started generating that error message when trying to access Server Preferences. Workgroup Manager, which seems to use the same login information, accessed just fine. We tried deleting access information in Keychain, to no avail. What finally worked for US was:
- Via Server Admin, (in Open Directory > Settings > General) change the Role: Open Directory from Master to Standalone
- This (for us) then restored access to Server Prefs
- Use Server Admin to change the Role back to Master
Warnings - 1) backup first 2) you will have to reinstall the master password, and 3) ALL accounts were lost and had to be recreated.

• "Unable to find node..." error

Does anyone have any idea what the error below is trying to tell me???
I'm getting these every time I try to sync this same package file called "personal notebook.ntx".
1) When I look inside the package file there is no such file. There is a file called "req_of.gif", but no file with a "._" preceeding. On top of that this is a standard AFP based home directory (not CIFS, or NFS).
2) Every time the sync runs, the file that gets the error CHANGES! So one time it'll be the file I just mentioned, the next time it'll be this file:
"Documents/NoteTaker-NoteShare/Personal/personal notebook.ntx/Attachments/._s117018.jpg"
The next time I'll be this file:
"Documents/NoteTaker-NoteShare/Personal/personal notebook.ntx/Attachments/.smlogo2.gif"
And so on. There are about 84 files in that directory and if the automatic syncs are let run enough times, it will eventually generate an error on most of the files in that directory (but not all

Hmmm, Ok, this is helpful, however we're now in an area I'm rather unfamiliar with so need some more help (thanks for this by the way).
First what I know...
* Everything below the directory "personal notebook.ntx" is part of a package and not directly under my control but under control of an application called Notetaker. I have however, been having to look into the packages a lot recently due to the fact that the modification dates don't seem to work the same in Leopard as they did in Tiger (I mentioned this in another thread, but no one seem to have any insight on it http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1244035&tstart=0). By looking into the package seemed to be the only way to be able to verify whether or not my files were being sync'ed correctly as I could no longer rely on modification dates.
* Checking the rest of the files in the package shows that a lot but not all of the files have that attribute set. All the files in that directory have that attribute set.
* I don't consistently get the same file to error out every time. If I run the sync two times in a row with no changes what-so-ever a different file will generate the error.
So questions that come to mind since I haven't dealt with extended attributes very much....
* Are you saying that the extended attributes could only have been set by a Leopard client? A Tiger client would not have been able to set them? (I'm syncing these files between Leopard and Tiger clients).
* what is the "com.apple.FinderInfo" attribute? Can I delete it? What would I lose? The fact that not all files in the package have this makes me wonder whether or not it's necessary.
* why would FileSyncAgent have a problem with extended attributes?
Thanks for any help.

• Unable to drop nodes onto a line.

Hello Everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I've got a situation where I'm unable to drop nodes onto a line. I'm having to manually connect them at each point. The Tutorial tells me that when I drag a node over a line the node in and out should highlight and at that point I can release it and it will automatically connect onto the tree. Although this did work with the trial version it is not working with my purchased version. Most likely I've dissabled the option without knowing it. Can't find the solution in any of the manuals. Thanks for any help.

> Man, I STILL do that... then wonder where everything
went!!
Well, now I know you do it, I don't feel so stupid when I do it!
. . . But isn't it great when you hit the space bar again . . . and everything comes back!

Thank you for responding. This is what we are using in a small company a Cisco Switcher, and don't have a router.
If you're getting connections off of the network out to the Internet, then yes, there is a router involved. Somewhere.
MacMini server I have an IP address of 169.254.xxx.xx, before IP address was 192.254.xxx.xx.
That IP address implies that the box isn't getting an IP address from a DHCP server; that's the self-assigned block. (Officially, these addresses are in the Automatic Private Address Configuration Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA) IANA reserved range.)
Which implies that at least two problems lurk.
Mac OS X Server must have a static IP address. Not DHCP-assigned dynamic addresses.
And a DHCP server isn't answering the IP address requests. (Well, not unless the DHCP server is passing out addresses in the self-assigned block, and that wouldn't likely be considered best-practice. More likely an IP address from a DHCP address pool allocated within a subnet somewhere in the 10.0.0.0/8 or 172.16.0.0/12 or (less desirably) 192.168.0.0/16 private blocks.
The Firewall is not turned on. Its purpose is for guest to access files, without deleting or modifying it.
When you're debugging problems, simplify. Divide the problem. With network services, test the lowest levels of the stack. Then work your way up the stack; toward higher-level services and mechanisms. Then add more parts and pieces, and DHCP and related.
IP hosts operating at 169.254.0.0/16 addresses (for longer than it takes to get an IP address from DHCP) usually implies that the network configuration is invalid or the DHCP server is not working.
I did not expect that Open Directory would be a big problem.
If DNS services or IP routing is misconfigured, then the whole rest of the stack will be unstable at best. The configuration order (and debugging order) involves functional IP networking and hardware, first and foremost. Then having functional DNS. Then Open Directory and then Kerberos. Then the rest of the stack.

• Count node issue

Hi,
This is my problem: a process selects some data in tables and returns:

if data exists

or
if data does not exist

I need to count the B nodes. I used countNodes function. It's works if at least one B node exists but returns a null exception if B does not exist !! to my mind, the function countNodes should return 0 ...
I'm wrong ?
So how to count node when data could not exist ? (catch a selectionFailure exception ?)
Thanks for your help,

• Unable to start node manager of WebLogic 12c on OEL 5.9 64 bit

Hi,
I have WLS 12 running on OEL 5.9 64 bit.
The installation ise JDK instead of the default JRockit.
The version of Java that has been installed is from rpm: jdk-7u25-linux-x64.rpm
I have created a domain.
I am unable to start the Node Manager the first time, and thus unable to create the file nodemanager.properties.
I get an error:
weblogic.nodemanager.common.ConfigException: Native version is enabled but nodemanager native library could not be loaded
I have added JAVA_USE_64BIT=true in the commEnv.sh, but it seems not to help.
Does someone know how to get the nodde manager runing on a Linux x86 64 bit?
Thanks by advance for any tip.

Hello, try this:
1. Set the environment to use the 64 bit WLS library:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=
/u01/Middleware/wlserver_10.3/server/native/linux/x86_64/:/u01/Middleware/wlserver_10.3/server/native/linux/i686/
2. Retry the domain configuration:
/u01/Middleware/Oracle_PFRD/bin/config.sh

• Counting Nodes

Noob question.
This statement:
var nTableLength = TableKM.nodes.length;
is intended to count the child objects (rows) of a table which in my case should be a value of 3.
But the value in the debugger indicates that it is counting the children of the rows which are cells, a value of 6.
Is there a way to limit the counting to immediate child objects?
Thx.

You want to count the rows as they are the repeating object, not the table. If you had repeating tables your code would work.
And for .length I think you might need to use resolveNodes() (I'm at home now, just going off the top of my head):
var oRows = xfa.resolveNodes("TableKM.Row1[*]");
var nLength = oRows.length;
You can also use the Instance Manager to count:
var nLength = TableKM._Row1.count;

• How to count nodes?

I'm new to DOM and am trying to understand the node hierarchy structure. I have the following sample XML file.
To understand what constitutes a "Node", I count and print the child nodes that are within the "slideshow" node. The result I get is that there are 5 nodes and the node names are: #Text, slide, #Text, slide, #Text
Can anyone explain to me how--based on the xml file below, there are 5 nodes within the slideshow element?

<slideshow title="Sample Slide Show" date="Date of publication" author="Yours Truly">
<slide type="all">

Wake up to WonderWidgets!

</slide>
<slide type="all">

Overview

Why
WonderWidgets
are great

Who buys WonderWidgets

</slide>
</slideshow>

#Text nodes are Whitespace nodes.
