Unable to disable Kerberos prompt

Hi all,
I have a problem that has been driving me nuts for the past few days. I am connected to my corporate server and my internet traffic is routed through a web proxy.
I use both Chrome and Safari web browsers for my work. Safari connects to the net with basic https proxy authentication, asking my domain user name and password. But Chrome on the other hand asks for the normal https proxy authentication and KERBEROS identity! I have no clue what Kerberos is, I have never used it before, never configured anything whatsoever. So this pormpt pops up every second that I use Google Chrome. For example, while doing a Google search the prompt pops up profusely asking for some "identity". The prompt pops up at least 6 - 7 times while doing a google search and I have to keep hitting cancel every single time! There are no "identities" configured so there is no selection to be made in the prompt and without hitting cancel my web page doesn't proceed to load.
I have searched online for solutions and I read somewhere all I got to do is "destroy the tickets" in this app called Ticket Viewer located in the CoreServices folder. But in Ticket Viewer there is NO "identity" nor are there any "tickets". All the app permits me to do is create a new identity. Another solution posted on this forum was to run the following commands in Terminal :
sudo rm -R -v /Library/Preferences/DirectoryService
sudo rm -R -v /Library/Preferences/edu.mit.kerberos
sudo rm -R -v /Library/Caches/*
sudo reboot h now
This hasn't fixed the problem either. Kerberos keeps popping this prompt for both Chrome and mac corporate messenger.
This issue started just 3 days back. I've never faced this problem before and I am clueless to what triggered it. There has been no changes in security settings or whatsoever in my corporate servers and proxy so I am pretty sure this problem is local.
Kindly help.

IOS 7.0.4 Messages not working, unable to disable iMessage

After upgrading to IOS 7.0.4, I am unable to send Messages from my iPad2. I have the same issue on my iPhone 5s but I was able to disable iMessages in Settings and it works in SMS mode. I tried to disable iMessage in Settings on my iPad 2 but each time I do it then prompts me for my Apple ID password everytime I launch Messages. When I enter my password it accepts it but it enables iMessage, which will not send a text, I get the "not delivered". Since I'm unable to disable iMessage as described above, I'm completely unable to send any text messages from my iPad. Luckily I do not get the same results on my 5s, it allows me to disable iMessage and does NOT prompt me for my Apple ID/password and therefore does NOT reenable iMessage.
I've tried closing Messages and power cycling my iPad2 but the same issue occurs.
Both devices are runing IOS 7.0.4.

Thanks for the replies from all. The first issue was that I don't have a cellular iPad (I forget) so of course I could not turn off iMessage as I did on my 5s.
The real issue was that when my Wife's 5s was upgraded from IOS 7.0.3 iMessage was disabled. This did not happen on my 5s or my Daughter's 5s so I didn't expect it.
So, check to make sure that iMessage is enabled after upgrading from 7.0.3 to 7.0.4.

Unable to disable root after solving login issues

Having followed the steps to regain access to my macbook pro after upgrading to OS X 10.5, I am now unable to disable root as an account or remove the "Other" account from my login in screen.
I have tried using Directory Utility, but this doesn't show root as enabled. However, when I click on enable root, nothing happens so I cannot even enable and then disable.
I can still login as "root" and I am concerned with leaving this active.
Can anyone suggest a method of disabling the root account?

In case anyone else is having this issue, I've found a fix that's worked for my configuration.
In my usual account, which is also and administrators account, I opened Terminal from Utilities and typed:
dsenableroot
at the the prompt. I was then asked for my account password
I was then asked for a root password - I entered the root password I created when I reset the password from the installer password reset utility, and then confirmed the same password.
I then entered the disable command:
dsenableroot -d
followed by my usual account password.
After shutting down and rebooting, I only had my usual account login left and the mysterious "Other" had disappeared and root was disabled.

Might you have a newly acquired iPad that is still locked to someone else's Apple ID? If that is the case, then you will need the former owner's Apple ID and password to proceed. That feature is called Activation Lock and described here:

If you cannot get that former owner's Apple ID and password, you will never be able to use the iPad.

If you mean. Settings> General>Restrictions>Allowed Content>Websites, then disable the restrictions and you should be able to do what you want to do.

Unable to use runtime prompts in calculation manager

Hi All,
I am unable to use runtime prompts in calculation manager (11.1.2.0).
In Variable Designer I have selected global and created a Replacement variable with name "Entity" and selected Type as "Member" and Default Value as "Entity" from dimension list, checked the check box "rtp".
In FIX (i.e., Member Range) I’m selecting this variable for Entity dimension, and validating this rule without any errors. And during deployment it is not prompting for Entity and directly a message appears that deployment was successful.
My requirement is i should select a Entity member during runtime. Please help me out.

Are you accessing workspace url remotely on client machine?
Can you try accessing the url on the server and check whether you can see the app in the Calc manager?

Disabling Kerberos After Setting Up an Open Directory Master - Mavericks

I am attempting to setup the "magic triangle" and one of the steps is to follow KB: Mac OS X 10.6 Server Admin: Disabling Kerberos After Setting Up an Open Directory Master
However, the command mentioned to disable Kerberos does not work on Mavericks as I get remove parameter not found. What is proper way to disable kerberos on a mavericks open directory master server so that Active Directory takes over for kerberos properly?

Also, is Apple's best practice in a "magic triangle" situation to join the client computers to OD and AD?

Mavericks server seems to be smart enough to disable its Kerberos for you if you bind the server to AD before you create your OD Master.
if you want to use Workgroup Manager in Mavericks to manage preferences then yes you need to bind clients to AD and OD. We are doing this with Mavericks. it works.
however, Apple has now deprecated Workgroup Manager in favor of Profile Manager. If you switch to Profile Manager then you enroll clients to the server instead of binding them to OD.

Please let us disable update prompts

Forgive me for my frustrated tone (or don't)...
I'm getting so tired of this **bleep**. Why on earth isn't there an option to disable update prompts? Every single time I start up skype I get an update pop-up. Twice. I've searched for solutions, but none of them worked for me. This should just be an option within the client itself, even if hidden under an "advanced" tab to stay in line with how dumb you assume your users are. Possibly the most mind boggling part is how other people on the exact same version don't seem to get any update prompts, nor do I get them on my laptop.
I just do not want your **bleep** update. Why are you trying to force it down my throat? I'm all for security updates but I'm not on board with following the trend of catering your UI to four year olds. I like an interface that's clean and clear and doesn't try so hard to look "hip". The least you could do is add options to use the old interface/disable new """features""".
P.S. While you're at it, stop automatically capitalizing brand names like "Always" in my sentences. And stop making my asterisks bold **bleep**, they already have a different purpose... *sigh*

and add 127.0.0.1 download.skype.com to your host file if you want to go for certain.
Also worth noting that C:\users\youruser\appdata\roaming\skype\shared.xml -> go to <EnableWiki> and turn 1 to 0 to disable the **~~__@@!! thing.

Creating OD Replica: Unable to locate kerberos services for localhost

The only thing I can derive from this is that the issue is related to kerberos. Any suggestions?

SSH is enabled for all users on both Macs. Manually added diradmin aswell just to make me feel better.
Additionally, here's what I get when I try running preflight on either Mac:

Interactive report - unable to disable save report option

I am using an interactive report and unable to disable "Save Report" option... Although the option is unchecked under "Include in Actions Menu" section... Others' are working fine, I just can't disable "Save Report" option...

When you are logged in as both a Developer and End User, you will ALWAYS see the Save button, even if it is disabled. This is so that you can save the Defaults for an IR. Thus, if you click on the save option, you should only see one item - Save Report Defaults. You will not be able to save a custom report.
Your end-users are not logged in as developers, and thus, won't see any save icon at all. In fact - if you log out of APEX and run just your application, neither will you.

How to disable security prompts on OS X?

How do I disable securty prompts when installing new programs? Below are some examples of what I mean. Also sometimes it asks for my password. It's very annoying. I want to turn these warnings and password promps off completely.

HP Pavilion g6 Notebook unable to disable Touchpad or access Synaptic to configure it

Recently, I have been unable to disable my Synaptic Touchpad on my HP Pavilion g6 Notebook and, me being a gamer, it is quite annoying fore I always end up moving the Touchpad with my wrist which will, in turn, move my Cursor.
I have done research on this problem and all the answers I have found, I tried and they proceeded to fail. I am quite infuriated and do wish someone knew what was going on and will help me.

Step 01. Turn OFF the Notebook
Step 02. Un-plug the Power/AC Adapter and also remove the Battery too

Step 04. Now let's re-insert the battery back in and plug back the Power/AC Adapter
