Unable to establish Visual studio load test connection with Test Controller

When i try to add test controller in visual studio  error message shown "can not communicate with controller version mismatch "
can any one please tell me its solution ??

Thanks for
M.Radwan's help.
Hi Fahad5388,
According to your error message,
I agree with M.Radwan's opinion. If you used TFS, I think that you’d better make sure that you
used the same version for VS and TFS.

As far as I know, if you want to used test controller or test agent for VS, you need to sure that you used same version test controller or test agent
for VS.

  • Problem creating a repository in Oracle from Visual studio Load test

    Hi,
I have an issue which will be greatly appreciated if answered soon. I have created a load test using Visual studio 2010 Ultimate in Oracle 11 g environment . I just want to create a load test repository in Oracle db to store results of the load test results. I have read on MSDN the method to do so for SQL server(at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms182600.aspx) but not Oracle. Please respond asap. Thanks

I could be wrong, but I believe to achieve this you will need to buy a third party tool that supports the Load Testing project with Oracle like "Toad Extension for Visual Studio".

  • SCOM 2012 - Visual Studio Web Test - Cannot retrieve downloaded test results / share not configured

    Hello-
I am trying to get my Visual Studio web test to work in SCOM 2012. I have configured the run-as account, and set the correct overrides for the Alert attachment file share discovery. I followed this guide to the T: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj899889.aspx
When I Select the site that I want to download the test result file for, The results pane shows the following error:
"The share does not seem to be configured in the Alert Attachment Management Pack"
When I attempt to download the result file without manually entering creds, it fails. When I do enter creds, in the "task history" it shows as succeeded, but I get no results. All subsequent automatic "Retrieve previously..." fail. In
the "task history", the "Run As" column is blank (unless I manually enter the credentials, which doesn't do me any good, anyway)
My "Alert Attachment" MP is inside another MP I created, along with the "System Center Global Service Monitor VS Web Test" MP and two other System Center MPs. This created MP is the one that my Alert Attachment Overrides are attached
    to.
My Run-As account has the needed permissions to the file share, so I am lost as to why this isn't working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you followed the steps here to configure the share location http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj899889.aspx ?

  • Visual Studio Express Community 2013 with Update 4

I'm in college, and the class I am in is programming, so in order to do my work, I need C++ (which our required work is through Visual Studio Express). Unfortunately, after every single time I try to download Visual Studio Express: Community 2013
with Update 4, it gives me these error messages: "SETUP FAILED! Install cannot continue because some required components failed.", "Visual Studio Core Features: Fatal error during installation", and "Visual Studio Core Features - ENU:
User cancelled installation". Obviously the last two errors popped up, because of the first error message, but why would it say that some components failed? What exactly does that mean? If someone can please respond quickly, I would be really happy, because
I need to install this ASAP, in order to do my classwork, homework!!!!

    Hello Eadsele,
I think the problem is pending on your network. Please try download the ISO and verify its checksum before install, refer to here to verify:

  • Hidden, Dynamic parameters in Visual Studio web test - debugging

Hello! I am trying to debug a web test in Visual Studio and I'm running into the issue of incorrectly bound dynamic parameters.
Here is the error I am getting:
Request failed: Context parameter '$HIDDEN1.j_id71:_link_hidden_' not found in test context
I have looked at many blogs and websites that tell you how to fix this bug. (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/edglas/archive/2010/03/24/web-test-authoring-and-debugging-techniques-for-visual-studio-2010.aspx) However the websites haven't helped, my error is slightly
different from the one they outline.
This website in particular tells me how to find the place where the parameter is defined earlier in the code, but in my case this parameter never seems to have been defined. I can't figure out what extraction rule to use (if any).
Let me know if you have any suggestions/useful websites I can look at! Also let me know if you need more information. Thanks in advance!
    -Danielle

    Hello Jack,
Thank you for your detailed response. I had already gone through the first blog you recommended to no avail, but the second one seems to be leading me more in the right direction.
I have a few more questions for you after looking through this advice.
I added a validation rule like that second blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/slumley/archive/2007/11/19/debugging-errors-in-load-test.aspx) says to, and I am seeing that my form parameter "j_id71:_link_hidden_" doesn't exist.
However, I noticed when I right clicked on this parameter name in Response tab of the request that is failing, and selected "Quick Find", it searched for the value that the parameter has been assigned. It found this value in a QueryString parameter
named "_" in the previous request.
After studying my web test, I noticed also that this variable "_" is in many QueryStrings, and it always seems to match these hidden parameters that are not being found in the test context. I believe this query string parameter is the main source
    of my issue.
The validation rule I added from that blog post is trying to validate the existence of a Form Post Parameter, however the value I want to extract is in a QueryString parameter. Is there a way to extract a value from Query Strings? I only have found ways
to extract from Form Post Parameters.
What do you recommend? Here are some things I've tried that have failed:
    1. I tried renaming the parameter "_" to match the hidden one, that didn't work.
    2. I tried creating a new Form Post parameter that matched the Query String parameter in name and value. Furthermore, I tried to use the Validation FormFieldExists rule from the blog to validate that the Form Post Parameter "_" exists, and that
failed. Why isn't it seeing the form field I create?
    3. I tried to set the value of j_id71:_link_hidden_ Form Post Parameter in the failing request to {{_}}, so that it finds the value from the correct variable. This didn't work either.
Any other options you can suggest? I know this is a lot of information, I figured the deeper context may help you to help me debug this issue. Thanks again!!
    -Danielle
[UPDATE] -- I tried to validate existence of a form post parameter that is obviously there and was there from the beginning, that also failed. Maybe a bug in the validation rule code...
[UPDATE 2] -- I have started to solve my issues by changing the value of these Form Post Parameters to certain QueryStringParam values. By looking in the Properties panel when I've selected a form post parameter that wasn't working, I can change the value
to one of these values using the dropdown. The dropdown menu has about 7 different options named "QueryStringParam11810.ct", for ex. Each param has a different number and ending associated with it, and by trial and error I've been finding matching
QueryStringParams to go with each hidden parameter. So far this is working... Not sure how to choose which value matches in a more specific way besides trial and error.
So I guess this is resolved, although if you have an explanation for all of this that would be very appreciated!

    Hi Dqzz,
According to your description, you encounter the "Unable to establish server mode" error. Right?
In Analysis Services, this issue has been reported and it has been fixed in the later services pack. Please see: SSMS
raises "Unable to establish server mode" error if SSAS encounters errors during startup. However, it also can be related to running out of memory issue which will cause this error. Please refer to a blog below:

    Hi,
    1. Please check if the Site URL is right in Visual Studio 2013 project.
    2. Try to use the administrator account of the developer site to connect.
    3. Reinstall Office Developer Tools.

  • AppV 5.0 - Unable to Sequence Visual Studio 2012 - Unresolved

    Hi there,
Would you be so kind to assist me with the error which is reported when my sequencing of the Visual Studio 2012 fails?
    Here are the details:
    App-V 5.0.
    Sequencer: Windows 7 SP1 Pro x86. 1.5 GB.
    Visual Studio 2012 Premium MSDN.
Error: occurs at "Create Package" step. There is 9.3 GB of free space available at that time.
Error message: The virtual package could not be saved because an internal error occurred. For details, consult the sequencer event log. Typical reasons for save failures include:
    1) Package size is too large.
    2) Sharing violation - another application is blocking access to a file in the package.
An error was encountered while trying to finalize the package. Please check the event log for more details.
Thank you very much for your help and time in advance!

If you are using the 4.x version of the Sequencer, the potantial cause message points to the right direction: App-V 4 only supports package sizes of 4 GB max, and it might be that your VisualStudio installation is larger than that.

  • Visual Studio/ Oracle set up with both local and remote database

Hi, I am developing a database application in Visual Studio 2010, and have installed Oracle Database 11g Express on the same pc - (Windows 7, 64bit).
Now I am faced with what I need to install next: I've seen that Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio is required/recommended, but as it comes as part of the ODAC suite, it asks if I want to install the client or server version. Which should it be?
And would the situation change if I also needed to connect to a remote (Oracle 10g) database? I'm keen to avoid having tnsnames files all over the place, if at all possible, but would I need a separate Oracle client installation in either case?
    Many thanks,
    Nick

    Hi,
Are you actually going to drag and drop things from Server Explorer, and or use Sever Explorer to create/edit/debug stored procedures and such? If so, you'll need (32 bit) Oracle Developer Tools installed, and you'll need to install it into a separate home from the Express home.
If you're just going to "hand code" ODP.NET, you can use the ODP.NET that installs in the Express home. Note though that in VS2010, projects default to compile target of "x86", so to run a 64 bit app with the 64 bit ODP/client (assuming you installed 64 bit db home), you'll need to change it to x64.
You can connect from ODP.NET without tnsnames via the EZConnect version of the connect string.. ie,"data source=//serverhost:port/db_service_name; user id...etc.."
You can use 11g client against a 10g database.
    Hope it helps,
    Greg

  • Which version of Visual Studio for Apps created with VS 10 or before

I will be working on an application that was originally developed with VS 2005 and currently maintained with VS2010.
I have VS 2013 installed but the dev lead on the old application says I should be working on it with VS 2010.
His belief is that if I open the project in VS 2013 it will introduce incompatibilities since the rest of the his team is using VS 10.
I would appreciate any suggestions or feedback on this topic.
I do not really have enough experience with maintaining older apps in Visual Studio to know whether this is really a potential issue.
    Thanks
    Matt

    Hi Matt,
I think this document would be helpful for you:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh266747.aspx
It shared us the project which are supported in VS2010 with sp1, VS2012 with update 4 and VS2013.
So you would check whether your projects are compatible between different VS versions.
Of course, if possible you could test it between two versions after you take a backup for this project.
    Best Regards,
    Jack

  • Request for visual studio that is compatible with windows 7

I have installed many visual studio i.e, 2012,13 and they did not work in my system with windows 7 OS.Please kindly guide me with the 2010 or 2008 version so that i can develop my apps using it and please make sure that i contains all the specification
of the visual studio 2010 / 2008.Thank you.

I believe you are confusing an end product with an editor.
All the editors written in the Visual Studio Library will work (allow for the creation of programs and websites on a computer) on Windows 7. The real question is what are you creating for the end user? Which version of .Net does it target?
Visual Studio stopped becoming a .net version specific editor as of Visual Studio 2008, which at that time then allowed for different version of .net to be created, (.Net 2 and .Net 3, 3.5). Visual studio verison 2010 can create .Net 2, 3.5,
and 4.  VS2012 can create all that 2010 can do and create .net 4.5x applications.
So a better question would be which version are you targeting for .Net?
Since Visual Studio is an editor, I recommend going with the latest one which can create programs to target .Net2 - .Net 4.5x. Try the latest Community edition
which has just been released and is free to use as long as you are not a large corporation.

  • How can I get Visual Studio 2010 to work with Crystal Reports?

    Hi,
My office upgraded to Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2010 and now I can no longer write front end programs to Crystal Reports version 10.   Does anybody know if there is a a workaround?   Also, our version of Crystal Reports is 32 bit but the new desktop machine I have is 64 bit so there may be issues accessing the Crystal Reports DLLs which are now located in the Programs (x86) folder.
It's all such a gigantic mess that I don't even know where to begin.   Visual Studio 2008 had Crystal Reports in it so it was real easy.
    Dave

Try searching first before posting. CR for Visual Studio 2010 download is available on the OverView tab. It's a free install, we don't ship in VS now, it's still a plug in so you can't use VS 2010 Express version, MS doesn't support plugins in Express versions.
Runtime files will be version 13 and should update your app without issues.
Install VS 2010/2012/2013 first and then run the first link in the download page. Don't instlal just the runtime redist MSI, it will not integrate into VS.
Also, set your Project for x86 and not any CPU and use the full .NET Framework and not the client version.

  • Unable to Publish Captive 4 into Adobe Connect with Windows 7

    Hello,
I am using Adobe Captive 4 and have previously been able to publish my Adobe Captivate videos into Adobe Connect.  However, I have now had my PC upgraded to Windows 7 and am now unable to do so. When I attempt to publish into Adobe Connect, I received the following message:
Adobe Connect requires Flash Player 9.0.0.0 or above.
I have Flash version 11 installed on my computer so I don't think this is the problem. However, I do notice that the publish option opens in a window that seems to be another program or wizard that is used to publish from Captivate into Adobe Connect; this may be where my problem resides. I had a co-worker on Windows XP try and everything still works fine. It is only with Windows 7 that this problem occurs.
Any help or direction with this issue would be great.
    Thanks!

Odd, I just verified that I could publish from CP4 to Connect. Windows 7, Connect 8.2.1, Captivate 4.0.1 Build 1658.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Captivate? Maybe it didn't hook into the right version of Flash...
