Unable to get a connection to the WebLogic server
After reinstalling WLS and SP it still didn't work, however, after a 3rd
reinstall in
the DEFAULT directory of c:\weblogic, it finally worked! It would NOT work
from c:\tools\weblogic. Who knows, maybe i didn't update a magic variable
somewhere.

Pablo, how did you fix your problem? Same thing happening here on Win2000,
WLS5.1 SP4.
Thx,

Trying to use the statelessSession EJB example. When attempting to run
the client, I get the following message:
Beginning statelessSession.Client...
We were unable to get a connection to the WebLogic server at
t3://localhost:7001
Please make sure that the server is running.
The WebLogic server is definitely running, though. I am able to access
it using port 7001 from a browser. What could be wrong?

I have seen other related posts on this site but really no answers, the users seem to be left hanging.
Anyway, I am trying to run the statelessSession example, with the WebLogic server running and listening
on port 7001 on the current machine (i.e. localhost).
Here is what I am seeing:
c:\weblogic\myserver\clientclasses>java examples.ejb.basic.statelessSession.Client
Beginning statelessSession.Client...
We were unable to get a connection to the WebLogic server at t3://localhost:7001
Please make sure that the server is running.
System Configuration:
Win2000, WebLogic 5.1, WL Sp2, Java 1.2.2, weblogic home==> c:\weblogic
I have attached the weblogic.log.
Regards,
JohnHello John,
When I first install "weblogic", I am successfully able to run the examples, but after some time which I completely forget how I make them run, I install it again and encounter the same problem as you.
After spending nearly a whole day on restarting computer, viewing ports etc. :) :(, I remember that I make weblogic run from the command line. First, in a console run setenv and startWebLogic tools which are located under weblogic directory and in an another console run setenv again(for possible errors, I want to be sure that it is correct again) and run your client as explained in the tutorials html pages.
As seen, in computer science, simple things, not hard things, always cause you to lose time :)))
Best regards
Banu

Workshop never connects to the WebLogic Server
When I start WLS 7.02, the Workshop product with 7.02 does not show connected.
Therefore, from Workshop, I can not deploy to or shutdown the WLS server. What
am I missing?
Thanks,
DLGDavid,
Deleting the .workshop file would cause the IDE to connect to the sample
server. Which is what happened in your case.
If you need to connect to a different server, the settings must be changed
on the IDE.

After changing the domain from samples, I am able to start up WLS,however, Workshop
does not register it starting and maintains the disable status. It didcreate
a new .workshop file.
Now, when I first went to start WLS, it worked (start & stop), however itwas
using the samples server domain.

I can't get past "connecting to the update server" when I try to update.
I have received the "update now" notice on my computer for several weeks, but when I click the go ahead button, I get as far as "connecting to the update server" but it never progresses (even after 1/2 hour of waiting). What shall I do?
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
* Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

Edited by: user5838027 on Dec 9, 2009 9:01 PMMost of the time this error is coming from a wrong psservername parameter definition in configuration.properties of your Webserver. Be sure you can ping the servername or IP address defined, and the port is the Jolt port of the AppServer domain.
Please, show us what's the value. And also your PTools, Weblogic, Tuxedo version and OS used.

Unable to connect to the report server 9iAS
I have a similar problem to the FRM-41213 when trying to initiate a Report_Job_Id := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(Report_Id, pl_id) through a form.
I have tested everything on my LOCAL 9iDS environment which goes through a LOCAL report server (rwserver -install myserver) and it works.
Now, I am trying to deploy it to the 9iAS server on a Windows 2000 server. When I call my form everything appears to be working fine, however, I never get a connection to the report server and the applet hangs.
Any one have any idea what I should check to insure that I have my 9iAS server setup to run Reports though 9iAS or what this problem might be?
Thanks
HymanCheck if the reports server on 9ias is up and running. You might check out metalink note 212551.1 if it is not. The "Second Solution for Issue 1" solved the problem for me.
Begin quotation:
"This can be accomplished by removing the <security> tagging from the <repserver>.conf file, where <repserver> represents the reports server name. This file is found in the Developer ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf directory."
End quotation.
Hope this helps

Unable to connect to the Linux server - getting a message - username and pa
Hello,
I am unable to connect to the Linux server - getting a message - incorrect username or password . I have used this number of times and I am sure I am using the correct username and password.However, I tried to log in this time after few months to the Enterprise linux server and got this message. I have the VMware version 2.5.0 build-122581. I am using the Enterprise Linux 2.6.9-89.0.0.0.1.Esmp OS to use the Oracle EBS R12 off it. When I click the console in the VMware it starts the Linux. While it is at the 'Network starting, stage it shows 'Determining IP information : Failed' and few lines down the line 'starting smartd': Failed as well, while others are ok. I suspect these are cause of the message 'Incorrect username or password'.
What may be the issue? How do I resolve it?
Any urgent help would be highly appreciated.

Unable to get a connection for pool - ResourceUnavailableException
Hi
I have a BPEL process which starts a child instance of another asynchronous BPEL process for each message in an XML file. The child BPEL process makes a call to the Oracle Apps JCA Adapter to push the data into E-Business Suite.
All works perfectly except when the number of messages exceeds a certain limit (15 or so). The error received is as follows:
"Exception occured when binding was invoked.
Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'SyncPersonRecord' failed due to:
JCA Binding Component connection issue. JCA Binding Component is unable to create an outbound JCA (CCI) connection.

Please also make sure that the physical connection to the backend EIS is available and the backend itself is accepting connections. ".
The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception.
Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution."
Obviously what is happening is the connection pool maximum is reached (currently 15) and this is throwing the error.
What I need to do is to implement the suggestion of "specifying a time period to wait" and I was hoping someone could tell me how I do this?
I have tried setting the 'Connection Creation Retry Frequency' parameter to 30 seconds which made no difference and also have checked the documentation on "Configuring and Managing JDBC Data Sources for Oracle WebLogic Server".
Does anyone know if this is something that is implemented directly in the BPEL process/composite or in the connection source itself.
Many thanksOpen the jndi : eis/Apps/Apps in /console - config tab - increase the initial and max conn capacity and save it. Retry the scenario

Tecra A10 - Refurbished - unable to get it connected to my home network
I just got this Tecra A10-104 refurbished Laptop...before I take it back I am asking here just in case theres something I have missed as I am unable to get it connected to my home network.
I am running a Belkin Wireless Router that has 2 main PC's directly connected (LAN), and another PC wirelessly connected.
This is my router: http://www.belkin.com/uk/support/article/?lid=enu&pid=F5D8233uk4&aid=9238&scid=0
All PC's working fine and connected.
Now I'm trying to setup this laptop to connect.
I uninstalled the Vista Business and ussed the XP Pro Product Recovery disc that came with the Tecra.
My WiFi card is: Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 5100 (Driver Date: 27/04/2008 - Driver Version: 12.0.0.73)
It sees the network but no matter what i try just won't connect.
What I have done so far (read before suggesting stuff I have already tried):
Reconfigured routers WPS to Shared Key system.
Made sure the wireless adapter has settings set to 20/40hz (auto)
Restarted router, cable modem & laptop several times
Wireless button on side of Laptop is ON.
FN + F8 to enable WIFI (ON) BLUETOOTH (OFF)
Added wireless network to Auto Connect settings along with SSID and passcode end encryption method.
Clicked connect when network appears in network viewer dialogue and retyped passcode.
Not working.
I should add the Laptop has no problems connecting via its Gigabit LAN port.
Anything else I'm missing?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Dual post removed.UPDATE:
The next thing I tried was to reinstall Vista Business from recovery disc to see if this suffered from the same problem.
The wireless connection worked fine on Vista and, despite the updates that I was being offered, worked without needing to update any drivers.
This made me think...so the issue is probably XP DRIVER related.
What I have done now is backup all the driver updates I was told to download by TEMPRO (BIOS & wireless manager updates included).
I think part of the problem is that TEMPRO only works in Vista (not XP) so you are not informed of any updates that may be required if you downgrade to XP straight after purchase (which is what I did). -
How do I get the WebLogic server to use the XMLRegistry?
I'm using WebLogic 7.0.2, and I want to use the Apache TransformerFactory and DocumentBuilderFactory
instead of the default weblogic.* classes. I've found the documentation, where
I define an XML Registry as follows (snippet from my config.xml)...
<Server ListenAddress="####" ListenPort="####" Name="myserver"
NativeIOEnabled="true" ServerVersion="7.0.2.0"
StdoutEnabled="true" StdoutSeverityLevel="8"
StuckThreadMaxTime="14400"
XMLEntityCache="XMLCacheMBean_myserver" XMLRegistry="CT XML Registry">
<COM Name="myserver"/>
<ExecuteQueue Name="default" ThreadCount="15"/>
<IIOP Name="myserver"/>
<JTAMigratableTarget Cluster="" Name="myserver" UserPreferredServer="myserver"/>
<JTARecoveryService Name="myserver"/>
<KernelDebug Name="myserver"/>
<Log FileName="myserver/myserver.log" Name="myserver"/>
<SSL Enabled="true" HostnameVerificationIgnored="true"
ListenPort="###" Name="myserver"
ServerCertificateFileName="democert.pem"
ServerPrivateKeyAlias="demokey" ServerPrivateKeyPassPhrase="{3DES}gAuVwsR68oAlLdIfO1PAtw=="/>
<ServerDebug Name="myserver"/>
<ServerStart Name="myserver"/>
<WebServer DefaultWebApp="DefaultWebApp"
LogFileName="myserver/access.log" LoggingEnabled="true" Name="myserver"/>
</Server>
<XMLEntityCache Name="XMLCacheMBean_myserver"/>
<XMLRegistry
DocumentBuilderFactory="org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl"
Name="CT XML Registry"
SAXParserFactory="org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl"
TransformerFactory="org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl"
WhenToCache="cache-on-reference"/>
I've played aorund with xercesImpl being in and out of classpaths, etc. But no
matter what I do, calls to TransformerFactory.newInstance creates an instance
of weblogic.xml.jaxp.RegistrySAXTransformerFactory and DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance()
creates an instance of weblogic.xml.jaxp.RegistryDocumentBuilderFactory.
I don't want to use these classes, and supposedly I can control which classes
I will use, but it's not working for me. Has anyone been able to get this working?
Is there anything else that I'm missing?
Thanks,
EdI was unable to use the XMLRegistry touse the Xerces2 libraries with WebLogic 7.
I did find in WebLogic 7 doco that the latest release of Xerces that it would
internally support was 1.4.4 (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/xml/xml_admin.html#1066271).
If I wanted to use this version of Xerces, I would need to use WebLogic 8. This
is not an option for me at this stage.
So, I used this approach. When starting the WebLogic server, you can assign ClassPath
entries to an environment variable called PRE_CLASSPATH. This will prepend the
class path used by the App Container's JVM with the values in the variable. I
added the xercesImpl and xalan jars to this entry.
Because the WebLogic class loaders will always defer to the parent class loader,
it will check this class path first. So now I can directly instantiate the apach
implementation classes (typecasting them back to their API interface definitions)
and use them within the container.

I am unable to get a connection with my ipad with my wifi router. Will I need to upgrade my router
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Possible workaround for: Launch Debugger Error "Unable to connect to the RDS server"
I do not yet have a reproducible case for this. *Sometimes* ColdFusion Builder throws the "Unable to connect to the RDS server" error, when attempting to start a debug session against a remote server. However, "RDS Dataview" and "RDS Fileview" views correctly list the servers and their related data/file, and testing RDS connection result is "Test connection was successful". The workaround is:
1. Login to the ColdFusion Administrator
2. Navigate to "Debugger Settings" page (beneath "Debugging & Logging")
3. Click on "Stop Debugger Server" -or- "Restart Debugger Server"
4. Restart ColdFusion Application Server
Notes:
a) Step #3 must be done via ColdFusion Administrator, not via ColdFusion Admin API (stopLineDebugger()|restartLineDebugger())
b) Step #4 can be done via ColdFusion Administrator -or- ColdFusion Builder
c) Note that there is a CF9 Release Note for Bug #78488: "When a server having "Windows service option" ENABLED is added as a remote server, then Start-Stop-Restart operation cannot be done on it." However, I've found that "Restarting" a remote server, that is running as a Windows service, is possible in ColdFusion Builder (at least this is so on standalone developer edition). Like Bug #78488 says, I am unable to "Stop|Start" a remote server that is running as a Windows service. I'm just mentioning all of this, due to my suggestion in "b", that CF can also be restarted via ColdFusion Builder.
It is interesting that attempts to stop|restart the debugger server, via CF Admin API, do not resolve the issue. So, it seems that the "Stop Debugger Server" and "Restart Debugger Server" buttons, in CF Admin, are doing more than calling the corresponding CF Admin API methods.
Attached is an image of the error.
Just posting all of this as an FYI, in case it helps anyone.
Thanks!,
-Aaron Neff
(OH.. I'm unable to attach images at this time *DOH!* ..well, I'll try to remember to update this post w/ the image, once I see that attachments are allowed.)
I'll try to describe the error message window:
- It is 494x452 pixels
- Title of the window is "Error occurred while launching the Debugger"
- Body content of the window is as follows:
Unable to connect to the RDS server 'ServerNameHere'
Ensure that the server is currently running and that line debugging and RDS are enabled. You may also need to check your RDS connection settings in Eclipse to ensure that they are correct.
Error Message:
-1:Error connecting to JVM for debugging at localhost:5005. Could not attach to the VM at port 5005. You must specify this debugger port in the JVM settings of your application server, for example: -Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=n,address=5005. You will also need to make sure that another debugger is not currently connected to the CF JVM at the same port (5005).

I have installed a new server for WSUS on Server 2k8, This is a stand alone server on Internet No client system is connected on this server as I have to copy these updates to my LAN which never connects to internet. (Previously I was using server 2k3. for
online & server 2008 on my LAN , now I have changed the server for Online)
Wsus has finished the synchronization & downloaded updates of around 67GB & its downloading more updates. The server shows me some updates are waiting to approved. but when I click the link for those updates I get following error message.
error code is as follows -
The WSUS administration console was unable to connect to the WSUS Server via the remote API.

First, please check if the RAM is exhausted. When there is not enough RAM, this issue may occurs.
Please try to run iisreset on the WSUS server, then try to reconnect.
Also, please try to run the server cleanup wizard to remove the unused update.
Best Regards.
