Unable to import core flash, fl packages

I recenlty installed Flash CS3, and yesterday, everything was
working beautifully.
I'm not sure what happened, but I can no longer import any
package starting from "flash" or "fl". Here's what I'm trying:
1) New Flash Document (AS3).
2) Create an action for Layer 1, Frame 1.
3) In the action, write "import fl.controls.ComboBox;"
4) Test the movie.
I'm getting an error:
1172: Definition fl.controls:ComboBox could not be found.
I've checked my ActionScript 3 Classpaths, and both "." and
"$(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/Classes" are listed.
What's really driving me nuts is that FLA files that I wrote
yesterday that do the same thing will work--I just can't make any
new ones that do!
I might be missing something obvious, but any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Gah, no. And adding one (by double-clicking in the component
pane and then deleting the instance from the stage) clears up the
issue. I haven't touched Flash in about 2 versions or so, I assumed
the verbosity of and updates to ActionScript 3.0 negated the need
to manually manage native assets (like components) within the
library. (It'd be lovely if the "import fl.controls.ComboBox" took
care of adding the necessary assets to the library at compile time,
or, at the very least, if the Help examples and the "Using
examples" section mentioned this requirement. *Glares in Adobe's
direction.*)
Thanks for the suggestion kglad.

  • Unable to import oracle.jdbc.oracleresultset package

    hai
I had a problem importing oracle.jdbc.oracleresultset package to my jsp page.
I am using oracle 10g, and tomcat 5 as web server.
    I did set the classpath
    to these
    C:\Documents and Settings\MULLAPUDI>set CLASSPATH=C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\
    jdbc\lib\ojdbc14.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\ord\jlib\ordim.jar;C:\oracle\
    product\10.2.0\db_1\sqlj\lib\runtime12.jar;
when i am executing it is saying that package not available.

    1) If you are using a "thin" connection ("thin" is in your DD URL), then you probably only need ojdbc14.jar
    2) J2EE applications don't respect the external CLASSPATH, and aren't supposed to; instead, you normally copy the jar to the right location.

  • Unable to import CRM Business Packager in the Portal

I have downloaded the Business Package for CRM, but it was in Zip file.
I was unable to import it in the Portal since EP6 format has to be in epa not zip?
    Please advise.
    AA

    Hi,
CRM 4.0 Business package is available for EP 5.0 and above. When importing the business package do pay attention that you import a zip file that contains objects that are EP 5.0 version compatible such as files ending with the "PKG" extension. "EPA" extension is acceptable from EP 6.0 on.
The package content will be available at "migrated content" in your PCD, after the import process is done.

  • Flash CS5.5 unable to import sounds and massive animation lag

So, having reached a point where I want to add sound to my animation (which is extremely laggy for no particular reason), I find myself completely unable to import sounds of any form into Flash. "Oh, crap" I say to myself, and come onto the forums looking for a solution. Apparently importing the sound into a sound editor (ie audition) and then resaving it works, except it hasn't in my case and I'm still stuck with this stupid "Couldn't import [filename]" error.
(and my animation is extremely laggy for some reason in case you hadn't realised from the hints above. Does this have something to do with the fact that I am using blurs in the animation and then animating them with tweens, or is flash cs5.5 (and 5) just not good at rendering blurs efficiently?)

In Flash, all of the animation is done at runtime, not during authoring. This means that a blur, for instance, is done when the user is looking at the movie. This is completely different from the way that video is played on a computer. All of the animation workload is on the user's processor.
If you have a normal bitmap image that you are blurring with a blur filter and then animating that bitmap on the timeline in a tween, then you are giving the processor a lot of work to do. If you import a blurred bitmap and animate that, the processor has much less work to do.
That may or may not describe the problem that you are seeing.
I have no idea what the problem is with the sound files. Can you post one of the sound files so that someone could take a look at it?

  • Unable to import package. This file is not a Business Components XML file

    Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper 9.0.3(Build 1325) and trying to extend a VO. Project > Import Business Components and select the VO, AM or EO xml because Sourcing Negotiation creation does not have a server.xml and I am getting the following message "Unable to import package. This file is not a Business Components XML file.". Should I make something else to enable extension?? Does a patch required to make extensions. Any help would be appreciated.

What I know is that server.xml is not a must. This is the easiest way to import appropriate xml files. My question is, when I am trying to Project>Import Business Components > xxxVO.xml I am getting the above error although the xxxVO.xml is a Business Component. I wanna know that should some patch be applied to Jdeveloper (Build 1325)?? (by the way at first I tried with Build 1312 and the same error raised)

  • BUG: Unable to Import MP3 Files in Flash CS6

I am unable to import mp3 files of any kind in Flash CS6. Tried import to stage, import to library, Drag and Drop... no dice. Receiving a generic error message. Tried closing out and restarting, etc. - still not working.
    Anyone else having this issue?

    Yep that worked!
The "update" in the library would not update the content but the drag and drop worked fine.
Note: The path in the update dialog shows a relative path and after the drag and drop it shows an absolute path to the file
I also had an issue with the audio being changed from stream to event.

Installing the updated Web Toolkit did fix the problem. However, the installer script also was missing the last "end;" statement, which caused it to fail. But is now working. Thanks.

  • Imporing mx.flash.filesystem package

    Hi,
I am using Flex Builder 3 for development. I want to import  mx.flash.filesystem.File  package to write a file.
I am unable to find this package in available packages list ? How to resolve this issue ?
Do I need to add any library to my build path ? Please help me to resolve this issue.

You can't directly write to a file on the server. You need to use HTTPService to transfer the new XML data (or better to transfer as JSON data), and write to XML file from PHP script or some other server-side technology.
These links will show how to transfer data as JSON:

  • Unable To Include Files In iOS Package

    Hi,
I an using the latest release version of Flash Builder, trying to package an app for the iPad. I have an AIR application that I created to run on a desktop, and have modified it to run on the iPad. It works fine, however I cannot package the need resource files it uses, such as jpg, xml, swf, and flv files within the ipa file using Flash Builder. It seems that if I select more than 30-40 of these types of files to include, Flash Builder will not compile the ipa file without some sort of error, the most common one talks about:
"Cannot run program "java.exe" (in directory "C\Users\lee\AppData\Local\Temp\AOT1308010984915"): CreateProcess error=206, The filename or extension is too long"
Now I am guessing that Flash Builder is appending all of my selected files to a command line string or something somewhere, and so it can't handle that long of string on the command line. If I stick to less than 30 files, it works fine, but if I try and the 1000 or so files that I need to, it will not work.
This app would never be in the app store, but rather on internal company iPads. The reason for so many files is the number of products the app covers, and the number of languages it supports. So yes the ipa file would be about 500Mb, but that should not be an issue, since an ipa file is basically a zipped archive. I think this is a bug though in Flash Builder; the program also becomes unresponsive when trying to access the include file list located in Project Properties -> ActionScript Build Packaging -> Apple iOS settings dialog. It make take several minutes before FB becomes responsive again when working with this number of files.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    thanks

    Hello,
Since I first encountered this bug, I have always had my asset files in
subfolders. See the attached screen shot. This is my project folder, and
every subfolder is included except for the com folder, which for some
reason FB copied into the bin directory on it's own.
So I do not think this fixed. In this report, they are not using the same
number of files as I am, so it is possible that this only works with a low
    number of files.
    thx

  • Unable to import large AVI files

I make flash animations and then turn them into AVI files. When the avi file is bigger than 2gb, I am unable to import it to the timeline. If I then go back in flash and cut it in two and make two avi files, I can import them. I seem to be missing a codec or 2GB is the largest file I can import.
Any help on the codec question. I downloaded some codec detectors and it mentioned PCM as a codec. Any help would be appreciated.

You do not seem to be understanding what Neil said and asked
The TYPE of AVI you are creating out of Flash uses the TYPE of codec that only works to 2Gig... so, of course, your files over that size are corrupt
Using the DV AVI codec is a different TYPE of codec... which does allow files over 2Gig
Just because a file ends with .AVI does NOT mean it is the same as any other file which ends in .AVI - one example of this is that divX creates .AVI files, but they are actually a (hacked) version of the MPEG-4 codec and do not work well with Encore
You need to find out if you are able to create AVI files using a different codec

  • TS3230 I am unable to install Adobe Flash and Java. Safari quits unexpectedly. Please Help

Please help. I am unable to install Adobe flash & Java in my system

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. I know the report is long. Please post all of it anyway.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.
