Unable to install Runtime.apk to Android emulator

Using the AIR 3.9 SDK and running Android emulator (any):
     call adt -installRuntime -platform android
     Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES]
Does this mean that the Runtime.apk included with AIR 3.9 was packaged without a certificate, rendering it useless? Or am I doing something wrong?
I know captive-runtime apks are preferred, but they don't seem to run on Android emulators prior to armeabi-v7a.

Are you trying to launch via Flash Builder?

  • Cisco Network Setup Assistant Unable to install the certificate on Android KitKat

    Greetings,
    I'm having issues with deploying the CA. Although the Cisco app fails, the user cert (but no CA) appears to install and is accessible during wifi setup. I am running the latest version of Cisco Network Setup Assistant 1.2.42. The phone is running Android KitKat 4.4.4, not rooted, running stock T-Mobile rom. I'm able to authenticate with the guest side, and get as far as Installing Certificates... Reference the screen shots attached.
    Error message cisco Network Setup Assistant: "Unable to install the certificate. Exit the application and run it again to continue to the installation."
    I have ran the application several times, it keeps returning to this same message.
    After failure of the Cisco app, I noticed there is a certificate manager with CA cert and key, and than subsequently one new key continues to loop after until I cancel (also in screenshots).
    I have tried decryption, removing all security, and clearing credentials, yet the problem persists. Any help is appreciated.

  • How do I get Air runtime for the android emulator

    All the links I have found say you can download it after signing up for the pre-release; however, that is no longer viable as it is not pre-release anymore.  I cannot find anywhere to download the apk file anymore...  and I need to get it on the emulator.

    I am still digging ... means I still look for the best way to install a Flex/Air combo that will allow me to develop Air Apps for Android (using a Maven based dev env - flex-mojo), means I actually do NOT want to install or use Flash Builder or Flash Professional CS5 or ... whatever.
    So here is what I found out (the result of 3 days of work (elapse time)).
    To get a Flex/Air SDK up and running you need to ...
    Download the Flex SDK (e.g. 4.1.0.16076) from http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+4This will NOT contain an/the AIR SDK (and that means also no runtimes)
    Download the Air SDK (e.g. 2.5.1) from http://www.adobe.com/products/air/sdk/
    Copy the Air SDK over the Flex SDK as described here http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/495/cpsid_49532.htmlNote: Make sure that the Air SDK is newer than the Flex SDK. Otherwise the Flex SDK might use features of the Air SDK that are not present in the Air SDK and that might result in compile or runtime errors. I was not able to find a definition of "newer", but assume that Air 2.5 is newer than Flex 4.1
    ... or ...
    You download the Flex SDK 4.5.0.17689 from http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+HeroThis actually contains (means is already merged with) an Air SDK (don't know which version)
    Right now, I am stuck to make this work with flex-mojos 3.7.1, but will report back, if I find a solution.

  • Cannot install runtime or my app to my android device - Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_APK]

    Hi,
    I get the following error if I want to install the AIR Runtime that comes with the SDK or my app that I compiled to an APK file.... I get the following message:
    Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_APK]
    adt -installRuntime -platform andrid -device HT0BSPY06247 -package Runtime.apk
    Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_APK]
    My custom app runs in the emulator... but it is not a problemn with that - because the AIR Runtime won't even install!
    Help!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Unfortunately adT install runtime.apk does not work
    adB install runtime.apk does work, but it comes up with the same error. Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_APK]
    I managed to install the sample app apk found here for a sample app... http://coenraets.org/blog/2010/05/sample-application-using-flex-and-air-for-android/
    but when I try to install the runtime, did not install properly... Neither did my flash custom app.
    For my app, I created a simple SWF animation with Flash 8. It runs with ADL, but when I try to install it on the device, it doesn't work.
    Help with both the Runtime and the custom app. Here is the XML for the custom app below.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.6">

            <content>test1.swf</content>
        </initialWindow>

    Thanks in advance....

  • Despite having AIR3.0 and FlashPlayer 10.1 installed on android emulator,  not able to show a SWF

    a) I tried to view a SWF in a HTML file using  WebView. I see a message asking to get Flash Player. Somehow, the emulator is not able to find Flash Player it is installed in the emulator.
        BTW I am using Android SDK 2.3
    b) I create a mobile app using Flex 4.5.1 and installed the apk on android. The app has one view that shows SWF in a local HTM file using StageWebView. I was able to test the app using Flex's emulator.
       But in the android emulator, when I get to the view that shows the local HTML file - it asks for FlashPlayer to be installed.
    Any leads??

    It seems Flash player does not work Android Emulator. We can test it only on actual devices

    I tried different ways to fix it, changing the version android-8, android-9, android-16 but all without success.
    Thanks,
    Paulo.

    please remove AIR runtime.apk first. and then find a correct runtime.apk for emulator and install again.
    and check the adb logcat carefully. if you find the log containing 'native abi mismatch', this apk is not suitable for your emulator.
    another way to check is that get buid.prop by adb pull /system/build.prop. you will find the device or emulator abi, it should be armeabi or armeabi-v7a. different devices have different abi.
    and then use jar tvf runtime.apk to check the abi in your package. you could lib/<abitype>/lib/libcore.so or similiar.
    the thrid way to check is that for example on my pc, my ari apk is 8mb. after install, check in the devices, the install size is about 20m. if you see about 8mb, install failed.
    good luck.

  • AIR Runtime on Android Emulator

    Greets,
    I've a problem with AIR Runtime on Android Emulator: after I installed the runtime apk  (everything goes fine) i try to install the helloworld.apk compiled with Flash CS5 + Andr ext.
    Well, i receive this message "INSTALLED FAILED INVALID APK"
    Anyone knows causes?

    >>Only one more question: can you explain me why everytime I compile i got this messsage back?
    >>"No libraries were linked as Runtime Shared Libraries (RSLs) because of your publish settings: AIR Android"
    Flash CS doesn't let you link Libraries as RSLs in Android. Probably you are using a standard library that, by default is linked as an RSL. The warning is just to let you know that the link setting is being overridden. (The Text Layout Framework is the most likely library.) If you aren't intentionally using RSLs, or don't even know what an RSL is, you can ignore the warning.

  • 1607:Unable to install InstallShield scripting runtime

    I can't install iTunes, I get the error message saying:
    1607:Unable to install InstallShield scripting runtime.
    Need help... PLEASEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

    Hi iFriend,
    try this, it worked for me:
    1) first of all, uninstall QuickTime and older versions of iTunes from your PC, using the "remove" button in the "install applications" tool that you find in the windows control panel.
    2) reboot the system
    3) turn off the windows firewall application; go into the windows control panel, double click on windows firewall and disable the firewall option
    4) if you have one, disable your Anti-Virus application; i mean its real-time protection.
    5) probably it's not necessary, but for being sure... download and launch the standalone installer of QuickTime (latest version)
    6) download and launch the iTunes + QuickTime installer from this web address
    7) as an option, i suggest you to download and install also iTunes Art Importer. It's a nice application, that allows you to import from the internet directly into iTunes the album ArtWorks of the selected tracks in iTunes. I installed it, and it works very well with iTunes 6.
    8) after all the installations, remember to enable both firewall and anti-virus previously disabled!
    as i said, probably the 5th passage is not necessary, but i did it and it worked!
    if you have any questions or feedbacks, just relpy to this topic. stay iTuned!
    bye, bye,
    Marco

  • "1607: Unable to install InstallShiled Scripting Runtime"

    i had iTunes 5 for awhile because the newer version had bugs in it. I tried to update to iTunes 6 and installation froze while downloading the Quicktime portion. I tried installing iTunes 6 again but the error "1607: Unable to install InstallShiled Scripting Runtime" came up. I tried to uninstall iTunes completely but i could not find it on add/remove programs. Now I cant use iTunes or update my iPod.

    hi indolence!
    "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes."
    ouch. by any chance did you do a System restore "over top" of the date of a fresh itunes install, without uninstalling itunes/QT first? that's a known cause of that error message ... what the system restore does is strip out some of the installation registry entries for the recent install. here's a good reference on what system restore does and doesn't do for you:

    it would probably also be a good idea to head to Windows update if you did a system restore, to make sure you're still thoroughly up to date in that regard. (the restore may have stripped out recent updates.)
    Microsoft Windows Update
    the "hang" during the QT install has sometimes been caused by having Cygwin running during the install:
    iTunes 5 and QuickTime 7 for Windows: Installation won't work if Cygwin is running
    ... but other packages have also been implicated in this sort of thing. so prior to any installs, uninstalls or upgrades, it would be prudent in your case to switch off all background applications (including "terminate-and-stay-resident" applications):
    Close Applications Running in the Background
    to set up for the next attempt at an itunes install, it would be best to first uninstall your existing itunes/QT. use the complete uninstall instructions given here:

    if you run into trouble on the uninstall, try using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility:
    Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
    once you've got everything stripped out, try downloading and saving the itunes installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.)

    if you run into the the 1607, try the general and 1607-specific advice given in this document:

  • What is the Dir location of the "Firefox or Android" APK on Android Phones? I can see most of the installed APK's with a different file mgr but not Firefox.

    I am not sure where the installation dir is for "Firefox for Android" on my Motorola ATRIX HD phone. Most of the the APK's can be found but I can't find where Firefox is installed. I am trying to put a previous version on but the one installed thru Google's App Store app on the phone doesn't provide info on type other than version number. As such, the Mozilla's FTP site provides various archived versions for mobile devices but trying to find the APK to ensure the proper archived version is used makes it impossible to do. I'm guessing it installs from the app store but doesn't put the APK on the phone. Or is something else at work here?

    Hi endyuser1233, the official build can be downloaded and installed from the Google play store. However the apk directory depends on the build:
    * /data/data/org.mozilla/fennec for nightly
    * /data/data/org.mozilla/firefox for release
    * /data/data/org.mozilla/firefox_beta
    */data/data/org.mozilla/fennec_aurora

    Could be possible that Samsung Galaxy Fit Processor doesn't match with the system requirements of AIR. It should be ARMv7

    VGA: Dedicated Cortex A8 (ARMv7) 550MHz App Processor with Neon for A8 only; Hardware Vector FPU

  • How to use the Google Android Emulator in Flash Builder on Windows 7?

    I want to try out Flash Builder to create an app, but I cannot find out how to use the Google Android Emulator in Flash Builder. The simulators in Flash Builder work, and the android emulator is installed correctly and can run. I just can't seem to connect them. How do I do that?

    Hi Pahup,
    Thank you for your reply!!
    I adapted an Android App using Flash CC on a Mac. I already published this App for the Apple App Store. When I published the App for Android I chose Air 3.7.xxx for Android. I also created the p12 certificate using Flash CC in the publishing settigns for Android. So my App is theoretically finished and ready for Upload.
    When I went to the Google Play Store Developer Console I had the options to
    1.) Upload APK
    or
    2.) Prepare Store Entry
    ...so I prepared the Store entry first. When I go to "APK"-Tab in the console it looks like this:
    ... it says "Upload APK" and the Button below "Get Licence Key". When I click on the license Key Button it looks like this:
    So I think I should enter this RSA-Key somehow into my App BEFORE uploading it to the Google Play Store. This is recommended when an Ap is set to be paid. My Application is set to paid.
    I did not use any kind of licensing API (until now - cause I don´t know how and what it is for)
    This is all new to me. It is the first App I want to bringt to the Android market. I really hoped it would be as easy as getting an app into the Apple App Store. I found so many step by step instructions for dummies on "How to get an Flash iOS App into the App Store plus creating all the certificates needed", so I thought it would be the same for Android. But there is no help at all at the moment. I am totally confused.
    So any help, hint or instrusction would be great!!
    By the way - this is the App I want to get into the Google Play Store
