Unable to install the netweaver 2004 slim edition

Hi,
i am new to the netweaver. i am trying to instal the netweaver 2004 slim edition.
my system config:-
   OS: windowsXp
   jdk version is jdk1.5.0
   ram 1GB
i am getting the below error.
please help me---
i need the jdk1.5.0 only

Hi,
JDK 1.5 is not supported for NW installs. 1.4.2_10 is supported, but 1.4.2_08 is recommended. You can download the older JDK from the Sun website.
If you still have problems with the older JDK, post the contents of your jload.java.log for us to view.

Error when install the NetWeaver CE trial edition

Hi experts,
I tried to install the NetWeaver CE Developer Edtion. In the phase 2 "Define Parameters", there's a screen which asked me to input the "Database ID (DBSID)" and "Database Host", the value of "Database Host" is "48D26CA0500E46A", and it was in the unchangable status. When I click the next button the following information occurs:
"This computer's host name is '48D26CA0500E46A' but a reverse lookup returned 'cedev'. This will lead to problems later on when starting the Web Application Server. SOLUTION: Insert a line: '10.10.0.10 48D26CA0500E46A' into the host file 'C:/WINDOWS/system32\drivers\etc\hosts', and then continue with the installation."
I found only insert the '10.10.0.10 48D26CA0500E46A' into hosts would also cause this error, so I removed the "10.10.0.10 cedev" line and tried to continue the installation, and following error info occurred in the "Prerequisites Checker Results" with Severity "HIGH":
"The host name has to be an alphanumerical string of characters [A-Z] and [a-z] and digits [0-9], and the hyphen (or minus) character "-". Although the newer RFCs permit host names beginning with digits, we recommend that host names begin with an alpha character. Maximum host name length is 13. Current host name: 48D26CA0500E46A. See also SAP Note 611361. (Updated 2005-06-24)

As described in the mentioned SAP Note, the hostname should begin with an alpha character and must be max. 13 characters long. Your current hostname does not fulfill any of these requirements. Please change it in the System Properties (Computer Name tab).

Unable to install SAP Netweaver 2004s in Solaris x64

I am trying to install SAP Net2004s in solaris x64 and it has JDK1.6.
For some reason the SAPINST keeps giving error "JDK version 1.5.0 and above is not supported by SAP.
I downloaded and installed j2sdk1.4.2_24_b06 as per note 716604.
Created environment variable as
export JAVA_HOME=/opt/j2sdk1.4.2_24
export PATH=$PATH:$JAVA_HOME/bin
export SAPINST_JRE_HOME=opt/j2sdk1.4.2_24
now if i execute java -version, again it is showing as Jdk1.6
which java
/usr/bin/java
i am able to execute xclock.
I renamed the softlink in /usr/java to java.old and created new one as /usr/java pointed to /opt/j2sdk1.4.2_24
after this if i execute java -version, it gives an error "Error occurred during initialization of VM
java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object"
Now i checked the java executables, it is located in /opt/j2sdk1.4.2_24/bin/amd64/ (all java executables)
Now i set the env PATH /opt/j2sdk1.4.2_24/bin/amd64 before the variable /ur/bin/java
I tried creating env as "export PATH=$PATH:$JAVA_HOME/bin/amd64". But no luck.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me to pass through this error.

install a fresh JDK just need 64 bit version
and set the environment variables accordingly,
i did install java64bit and out put java -version is j2sdk1.4.2_24 64bit

able to execute xclock
But got the same error when i try to execute ./sapinst
error "GUI not Connected......."
i wonder that in java 64 bit,the executables are located in /opt/j2sdk1.4.2_24/bin/amd64/(all java executables)
but when we execute ./sapinst, it shows as it is searching the executables in /opt/j2sdk1.4.2_24/bin
i don't know if that matters.
but just want to let you know that, i was able to get the sapinst gui, when pointing to java1.6 version, but unfortunatly sap won't support above java1.5.
path of java1.6 executables - /usr/jdk/jdk1.6../bin/(all java executables)
Please help me resolving this issue.

You can test your TREX server by executing the following step:
Log on to your TREX server and open up the TREX console which you can find in the TREX program folder. Normally you are now inside the python_support folder.
Execute the following script by typing: "python runInstallationText.py" and hit Enter.
The script carries out the following tests:
● Deleting any test indexes that were generated for a previous script run
● Creating a test index
● Indexing documents
● Testing search functions
● Exact, error-tolerant (fuzzy), and linguistic searches
● Search using Boolean operators such as AND and OR
The results are displayed at the end of the script run. You see the tested calls and their statuses (OK or Failed).
When you run the script for the first time, the call Delete Index has the status Failed. This is because there was no existing text index to be deleted. If this is the only cell with the status Failed, the test was successful.
Below you will see the final output generated by the test script. As stated near the bottom of this screenshot our TREX is running very well or not if there is a problem.

How we are installing the Net weaver components in Netweaver 2004s?.
I installed SAP XI 3.0 in SAP web As6.40 as separate component. But I would like to know how we are installing the Netweaver components (BI, PI) in Netweaver 2004s after install the application server (ABAP with Java).
Our Landscape.
Development System (ABAP with JAVA)
SAP 2004s with PI -
windows 2003 / MSSQL Server (standalone system)
SAP 2004s with BI -
Windows 2003/ MSSQL Server (standalone system)
I wend through the 2004s Installation document but I am not very clear about the components installation.
Can any body suggest the step by step installation the above?

We have plan to use 001 for development client as per SAP installation document . Now we don't have any plan to take client copy because of our minimum resources. Still if i need to change in confitool, please explain to me what step i need to follow in configtool.
Now I default client is 001 (not 000). I think In 001 all most all configurtaion predefined.
From this installation document i just follow this

":If you install a new ABAP or <b>ABAP+Java</b> system, in most cases you do not need to perform the client copy for
the ABAP stack. SAPinst creates three ABAP clients during the installation, client 000, client 001, and client 066.
You can use client 001 for production.
The following procedure describes how to perform a client copy manually. We recommend that you use
client 001 as source client, however you can also use client 000 as source client."

I have just installed the SAP NetWeaver 2004s ABAP Edition on my PC and I want to setup some new clients to simulate an ALE model.

I have already tried PASS and pass because I know it is case -sensitive now but it did not work.

Can I install SAP Netweaver 2004s trial on WIndows vista home premium. Please advise.
One more thing is I am not able to download the Trial version from the SAP's FTP site. Because ftp is blocked in our company. Is there any other site from which I can download the trial version. Please advise.

In this Forum it appears that Windows 2000 with SP4 will work as well (haven't tried it).
If you've got VISTA you could consider running the trial on a Virtual Machine. Parallels, and vmware offer commercial vm products for generating Virtual machines whilst Microsoft (Virtual Pc2007) and VBOX offer Free virtualisation products. Vmware also provides a FREE vmware server virtualisation product --this works fine as well although no multi-media support. However if you only need the Virtual Machine to run the Netweaver trial then that's no big deal.
As I've posted elsewhere a Win XP pro Virtual Machine using only 512MB of RAM will give quite adequate performance of the ABAP trial. Don't even THINK of the Java edition unless you've got at LEAST 2GB - even on a Virtual Machine.

Where did you download the plug-in from? I used the link

and it worked well. Did you use a different download site?
After running the installer you will see the plug-in, when you create a book (File > New > Book) and select the book type; set the book type to "Non Apple Books", then Graphistudio should become available.
A message came up saying it can't be installed because it unrecognized. Also saying something about aperture 1. Sorry, can't really remember the exact words.
We need to know the exact error message to be able to help you, if the above installer does not work for you.

I am unable to install Java 2 Platform Standard Edition Development Kit 1.4.2_11 and NetBeans IDE 5.0 on Windows 98. I get the following message:
Java 2 Platform Standard Edition Development Kit 1.4.2_11 cannot be installed on your computer because current account does not have sufficient privileges.
I am trying to install at home, no network, and as far as I can tell, there is no way to give yourself "administrative privileges". Is Windows 98 not supported anymore?

98SE is supported. See configuration requirements for the various versions.
Try downloading Java and installing it, then go to the NetBeans site and downloading it and installing separately.

Yes you can install java engine.Run sapinst from installation master cd and select only java engine installation.There will be check boxes abd you have to choose java engine.Also check the nwo4s installation guide.It will guide you throughly.Keep in mind to use correct jdk required for your kind of installatiom.

Hi for some reason we had to install windows XP instead of windows 7 on a T510 with the NVS3100 video card;

Do you have Nvidia Optimus model or just plain Nvidia with switchable graphics? See this support page, verify and then let us know.
Keep us posted.
Edit: Also, did you change switchable to discrete in the BIOS before installing the driver? I don't believe XP supports switchable graphics, further is your XP updated to SP3? This is a requirement.
