Unable to just "select" the whole clip.
Every time I click on a clip in the Event Library the default range selection appears on the clip. As a result I am unable to just "select" the whole clip. The "Select" tool has been selected from the Dashboard. How do I get back to being able to just select the whole clip?

What you describe is normal behavior for HDV capture using FCE.
DV captures as one clip or may split the clip if there are timecode breaks on the tape.
HDV always breaks clips at the shot changes using FCE.
HDV cameras can downconvert to DV even if HDV was used to record the footage so it's important to know what the camera outputs during FCE capture.
Maybe this is why you have had mixed results with the differing capture windows?

Clicking on the green line does not select the sub-clip
I have marked sub-clips and marked them as Favorites, producing the green line at the top. However, when I click on the green line in the clip, it selects the entire clip, rather than the Favorite sub-clip. Is there some setting I have missed which produces this behavior? I want to click on the green line and select the Favorite sub-clip. Thanks very much.
This could either be a software problem, or maybe you are not hitting the right spot to click.
First, make sure you are actually clicking on the green line. It is not enough to click the region below the green line, you have to click ON it, or rather have the tip of the mouse pointer going just a little above the green line.
A little below, and the whole clip gets selected - just as it is if you click elsewhere.
My guess is that this is just a matter of aiming at a small target.
But in case it isn't: the usual troubleshooting tricks may apply: delete preferences, and do Window->Revert to Original Layout.
But, again: first of all, practice your aim
The keyboard shortcut Alt-X is your friend, too. It DEselects the clip, just in case you missed your mark and it all got selected. -
I can't crop/edit a photo in Facebook because when I touch the screen it just zooms the whole screen in and out

This happens because the iPhone that went bad, when reading those emails, did not remove them from your email provider's servier. -
I can't edit any photos. Try to crop but just moves the whole picture?
I can't edit photos. I select the crop tool but the mouse pointer just drags the whole image rather than create a box for the crop area? Even the in built photos/projects can't be edited. Nothing seems to work. I select the folder in the projects inspector but the folder contents don't apear in the browser, although individual images appear in the main window, eventually. Begining to think the software is dud or not compatible with the my mac operating system? I've tried re-installing the software.

i am trying to download firefox onto my computer and it goes through the whole run setup download thing and when it gets to where it should start the download wizard it pops up a window that says you may not have access to use all the programs on this computer , either stay as it is or use a different user and when i click on either one it just stops the whole thing . like i never did anything at all .

How to import logo to the clip and display it during the whole clip

I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.
I am doing a project now from various DVDs I've already made from a while ago.
Now I will use these them in a commercial things so I want to add a logo to the clips to keep my rights ...etc.
Here is the situation:-
1) Importing the clip file into Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.
2) Importing the logo image file I want to use.
3) Right click the clip file and choose insert.
Now I want to know how to import the image file to the clip so it is being there during the whole clip?
I've tried several times to import it but found it displayed seperatey after or before the clip or in the middle while I want to be displayed during the whole movie.
Also it is big when I displayed while I want to resize it to be in the top right of the clip.

Some of my rotation animation is stepping at about one degree increments instead of tweening smoothly. I'm using classic tweening. I see that if I select the whole interval and use F6 to convert every tween frame to a key and then select the object at the different frames, that I see under transform that the skew values are changes from frame to frame aroung that same one degree range. Is there a solution to this?

Magic Wand selects the whole picture
Hey, i tried using the Magic Wand Tool to select an area before and it works. But yesterday idk what happened and whenever i used magic want tool to select a specific area it keeps selecting the whole picture. How do i get this fixed? Please reply asap. Thanks!

I would try looking at Charles' suggestions. It is most likely that you have an empty or solid layer selected, which would select everything for you:
Or that you have a sample size that is too large, make sure you have it set to a small enough point sample. One is recommended. -
When I play one of my clips on imovie it shows up black even though I can see the whole clip on my menu of movies when I'm not playing it. Does that make sense and can someone help me with this problem?
Long standing problem, much discussion on the forums. Typically it has to do with incompatibility of Microsoft Exchange email client. See the links on "More Like this" at right.
Two solutions:
One is to zip compress the file and send the attachment that way.

Select the whole field (of a JTexField) in a JTable's cell
I succeed to select the whole field of a JTextfield contained in the cell of a JTable, adding a FocusListener. It works with the mouse selection.
Unfortunately this process isn�t efficient while moving from a cell to another with the TAB key.

Editable columns in table don't select the whole row
I am new to the forums and posted this to the wrong one the first time and I am not sure how to move it so I am just reposting it here. Sorry.
I have a table with 7 columns. 2 of them are non-editable and the rest are either radio buttons or check boxes. When I click on the 2 non-editable columns, the whole row gets highlighted. When I click on any of the editable columns, the button is selected, but the whole row is not highlighted. If I made the editable columns non-editable then the whole row gets highlighted when the column is clicked on. I want the button selected and the row highlighted when the editable columns are clicked on. Here is some relevant code:

Thanks for your help. I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the thumbnails folders - I looked inside those and found a miniature of the whole movie - obviously it refers to that when showing you the previews etc. Thats why nothing seemed to have changed. Im sure that when I finalised or exportted it would have referred to the full version.
While I was waiting for an answer I just went ahead and reimported the whole thing and found that I could replace the existing video with the new one and all the titles etc styed in place.
I will be interested to see some other time if it is possible to simply switch and and delete the thumbnails.

Unable to lead select the table

i i have some requirement something like this i have three table side by side in a view when i select the row of the first table the data in the second table should be dislayed and similarly for the third table as well .
Now my problem is when i am lead selecting the first table i a able to fetch the data and display but i am unable to lead select that rows in the table to display the lead selection i used Lead selection by Index then is is displaying properly BUT when i click on the second row or the third row or so...... It is not getting lead selected. I am Surprised i tried to check but did not found a single clue please help me with this.......

Quicktime and Playing Audio CDs - Why Can't I Select the Whole CD to Play?
I unfortunately agreed to update my Quicktime software when prompted by Apple. Since then, when I try to play audio CDs while working on my Mac, I have to select one song at a time and then select "play" in order to hear it. Now, only 48 hours ago, all I had to do was double click on the audio CD and the whole thing would play with no problem. This is why I am so wary of this so-called "convenient" and "user friendly" update alerts because you never know what the update actually contains and how it is going to change the behavior of your computer!

Would assume most people now use iTunes to import/convert audio files for playback/storage on their computer/iPod and/or burning of custom MP3 CDs which hold on the order of 10 times as much music and are compatible with most current generation CD/DVD players.
