Unable to print Quicken Checks

I work on a Mac 10.8.4. I have VMWare and Windows 7 installed and Quicken 2013. I can print reconciliation reports and check registers on my HPC3180 printer, no problem. But I cannot print checks. My printer is selected, I have followed all directions, but no luck

Hello,
I'd suggest you to install the Deskjet 6980 driver under Win 7 that should resolve the issue.
Below are the steps..
( if the printer is connected with USB )
Click START > Device and Printer > Add a Printer > Add a local printer >
Select "Use Existing Port " then Virtual USB from drop down , Click NEXT, in the Manufacturing list , select HP / Hewlett packard, and from the right pane , select Deskjet 6980 and complete the wizard
OR ( if printer is on Network, )
Click START > Device and Printer > Add a Printer > Add a local printer > Select "Create a New Port" > type in the Printer's IP address Click NEXT, in the Manufacturing list , select HP / Hewlett packard, and from the right pane , select Deskjet 6980 and complete the wizard
Now try printing from lotus and hopefully it should work.

Unable to print AP Check with MICR on AIX. The PDF output displays the MICR

I have peculiar situation here and I would really appreciate any help I can get.
The issue:
The requirement here is to print an AP Check with the MICR. Using XML I have defined a template and when I preview the output in PDF, the MICR string displays fine. The same template also works fine from within Oracle Applications.
However, when I specify a printer and set the number of copies to 1, nothing is printed.
The issue that our DBA noticed was that the PDF to PS converter is dropping the MICR string and as a result nothing is getting printed. The client uses GhostScript for PDF2PS conversion and they have not been able to resolve this issue.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue? If so, what can be done to resolve this issue.

I think that means tool is either not installed or not in path:-
"The Xpdf language support packages include CMap files, text encodings, and various other configuration information necessary or useful for specific character sets. (They do not include any fonts.) Any or all of these can be installed by simply unpacking the tar file and adding a few lines to your xpdfrc configuration file (see the README file inside each package for details).
have you seen what needs to be changed in xpdfrc configuration file?

HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m unable to print ("check printer documentation")

My printer is: HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m
My computer is: Mac (Mac OS X system)
After removing a jammed paper (probably the incorrect way), I now receive a message to check "printer documentation" and then press "okay". Tried everything I could find, including uninstalling and reinstalling. Still receive same message, and still unable to print.
Can anyone tell me in very simple terms how to fix this?

How to print partial pages of Quicken checks to my Canon MX860?

My iMac and Quicken 2007 will only print checks from the bottom tray. This works fine for 3-check pages, but when I have one or two checks to print, the option which other printers use of printing these checks using the rear tray is not available. I have to Scotch Tape the single or double checks to a piece of blank paper.

I did try using the printParams feature and it worked, but since I need to be able to print sets of non-consecutive pages, I end up having to bring up the print dialogue multiple times and have the user set watermarks each time.
I decided to just create a new pdf in a temp directory containing the selected pages and open this document in a new window. This works well and allows them to use the print button on the window to print, bringing up the print dialogue just once. However, since I need to open the document in a way that shows the print button, I am using OpenInWindowEx, with AV_DOC_VIEW, and the option PDUseBookmarks or PDUseThumbs, rather than PDUseNone. This displays a toolbar which also includes icons for creating a new pdf, deleting pages, etc. I do not really want to include these icons on the toolbar. Is there a way to remove unwanted icons from the toolbar, or make them invisible?

Looks like Apple did the same thing with Lion that Microsoft did with Vista. Brought it on the market before it was ready.
I run a MacBook Pro and upgrading to Lion caused me two days of trouble and computer crash. Router settings removed and router blocked. Dongle not recognised, you name it.
In the end, I gave up and using my Snow Leopard installation disk and a Time Machine Backup finally got my computer up and running again. Thanks to Lion, I think I'll stay with OS X 10.6.8 at least it's reliable.

Print single Quicken check

I want to print a single Quicken check on my P1102w. I select the centered option in Quicken for partial page printing and the single option for number of checks. I use the paper feed with the slides set to center, but checks print blank or not where the print should be. Can't figure what I'm doing wrong. I use Win 7 on my pc. Thanks for all replies

The printer specifications (see http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c04268294 ) show which standard paper sizes are supported, and the minimum and maximum custom paper sizes supported. They appear to suggest that some media shorter than 4.5 inch length is supported; for example:Index card: 101 x 152 mm (4.0 x 6.0 inches)).custom media sizes (101.6 x 127 mm (4.0 to 5.0 inches) to 215 x 309 mm (8.5 to 12.2 inches) for Simplex printing). In all cases, I assume that use of any particular paper size, or custom sizes, is dependent on the relevant support in the printer driver (and application?) being used.I have no access to a printer of this model, nor to any Mac system, so cannot confirm this.

Unable to print batch of checks

Banking -> document printing -> Check's for payment -> To Be Printed...A list of checks populates the screen. Each is selected with a check box, system asks which printer is being used, system confirms the physical check number is the same as what is in the printer, select print.
Typically, the cursor will flicker a few times as the system sends the individual checks/documents to the printer. Now, only a single check prints and the confirmation window does not appear.
This user is a superuser -
I log in using another superuser, same workstation, and follow the same process, and the checks print as they normally have, as a batch.
There are no authorizations to adjust as this is a superuser and i have checked document settings / check for payment, print preferences, and confirmed that both users are using the same form.

Yes we did. The issue seemed to be something with the overridden name and address on the check. Whenever we tried printing the check or a batch containing the check they would not print. We determined that the user was somehow entering a control string that the printer/SAP could not handle.

After Upgrade to SLES11SP2, we're unable to print checks in PRODUCTION

DB - 11.2.0.3 - s390/System Z - SLES11SP2
APP - 12.1.3 - Linux x86_64 - SLES11SP2
This past weekend, we upgraded our PRODUCTION operating system from SLES10SP3 to SLES11SP2.
Ever since then, we've been having issues with our printing.
Check printing is all messed up........garbage is printing and it appears that Doc 761566.1 is not updated/current for SLES11SP2.
This O/S upgrade has been a total bummer.......
If anyone (including Hussein) has any ideas or has been down the SLES11SP2 upgrade path, I would love to hear from you.

Check printing is all messed up........garbage is printing and it appears that Doc 761566.1 is not updated/current for SLES11SP2. This OS is supported as per the doc " 11 - SP2 or higher (64-bit)1" however you need to do additional upgrades as mentioned in (After Installing or Upgrading) section in the same doc.

Please run the test as per (R12.0.6+ : Oracle Application Object Library Pasta Printing Health Check Test [ID 732270.1]) and see if it returns any error or warning messages.

HT4356 unable to print from my ipad mini

unable to print from ipad1 or ipad mini. tried all suggestions in support. This problem has been highlighted before is there a a problem with an software upgrade. I have hp 5510 that works fine fromPC.

I rebooted my BT router, Switched printer off and on, Checked printer on same wifi as router. closed ipad wifi to forget this network and reselected.
Printer worked OK on my ipad1 up until a few months ago it has never worked on my new ipad mini. works from my PC.

1) Checked with all the elements in STD program for printing multiple items in main window but unable to get all the items we are able to fetch only 1 item .

I am unable to print color photos from i photo using a Brother Printer

I am unable to print color photos from i photo using a Brother MFC-6490CW all in one. The photos appear to be in grayscale. I have checked the printer settings, but for some reason I am not able to access the color management on my printer from printer set up. It only gives me the standard option. I have spent hours checking Bother's website and Apple's and I am not able to come up with a valid answer. I know that the color print works. If I print something from the internet of from outlook it will print in color. I know all of my cartridges are in working order, I have cleaned the print head on my Brother, but I am still not able to print photos in color!!!
What puzzles me the most is why I am unable to really access the color management menu on my printer? It just does not come up. I have the option from paper handling to print photos, but this has nothing to do with the quality. I have also tried printing the photo from an Adobe PDF file and I still have the same problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you.

In the Print dialogue box click on the little triangle to the right of the name of the printer. That will expand the dialogue box.

Unable to print the report after SP2 (CR 2008 / VS 2008)?

I'm developing an ASP.NET application using VS 2008 (Framework 3.5). I have installed CR 2008 with SP (0, 1, and 2).
I created an invoice report and I printed it as test for the report and it works okay. I needed to change the page size of the report to a user defined size and reset all of the margins to zero.
After I did that I was unable to print the report again and every time I tried to print the report nothing gets printed.
I checked my environment to find the cause of this problem but I found nothing except that I'm using CR runtime for SP1 and I'm currently using SP2. So I did remove CR runtime for SP1 and install CR runtime for SP2.
The problem didn't go away and I faced one more problem.
Usually I'm using a dataset as a data source for my reports. After installing the CR runtime for SP2 I couldn't see any date column in my report data source (Dataset). All other types of columns appear except date fields! Why I have no Idea?
After I do some more testing regarding my issue I found out the following
1. When I add a new report to my web application and I don't change the page setting the report work fine.
2. When I change the page setup settings (Page Margins, horizontal width and vertical height) the report show up okay but never gets printed.
Why I don't know?
Addition to that the report dataset (Data Source) showing in the field explorer never shows any date type field?
All of the above issues happened with me after installing SP2.

CR 2008 (SP 0, 1, 2)
VS 2008 SP1
Please I need your help.

Unable to print anything after upgrading to Leopard, Ilife 08 and iwork 08

After installing these upgrades I am unable to print anything even test pages. Anyone got any ideas?I have tried deleting the printer and reinstalling checking for new drivers etc.

When I click on the Print menu item in Excel, there is a flash in the background like it is trying to open the print window, but nothing else. I am able to print from other programs like TextEdit, Mail or KakeidaGraph. As far as I know I have the latest Epson print driver.
Also, I am also unable to open an existing Excel or Word file from the open menu - both programs lock up and do not respond. I have to force quit. After I restart Excel or Word I can open an existing file by double clicking on the file, but if I again try to open another file from the open menu, Excel or Word lock up.
Any similar problems?

Apparently some are reporting that this causes the older PowerPC (PPC) applications that are supported in 10.6 via 'Rosetta' to crash upon attempting to open/save/print using any dialog box, or fail in other similar ways such as simply not printing or quitting, or freezing/hanging/crashing of the application.
I have read of some companies that have indeed submitted proper bug reports to Apple, but that is not a guarantee of a bug-fix being issued.

If you are unsure if you are still using PowerPC apps, if the application is currently running, look under the 'Activity Monitior' (in Applications -> Utilities), or alternatively you could check in the System Profiler, Applications. Check the column "Type".
Here is a fairly simple way you can restore you system and restore you applications functionality again, if you don't have a recent clone or good Time Machine backup that you can restore from. If you do, restore from your backup prior to having installed the Security Update 2012-001.

If you are restoring a backup made by a Mac to the same Mac
With your backup drive connected, start up your Mac from the Lion recovery partition (Command-R at startup) or Mac OS X v10.6 installation disc. Then use the "Restore From Time Machine Backup" utility. Select the backup prior to your issues, and it will be restored back to the state it was in at that time.
If you can't easily restore from a backup, you can instead do the following:
- You first start by reinstalling your OS X 10.6.x, this will preserve all your user data, your applications, no worries there.
- Then install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 (links provided below)
- Make sure you're printers are showing up correctly in your system preferences, if not, re-add the printers
- Then finally, run the Apple Software Update (by pulling down the Apple Menu), and install any and all remaining updates, except do not then re-install the Security Update 2012-001. It is possible that you may have to reboot after installing some of the updates, and you may even need to run it a 2nd time to make sure that you've got all updates, except NOT the Security Update 2012-001.
