Unable to reflect changes to UME group in Rooms

Hi ,
I created rooms using template creation .
How ever when i add some groups to Room admin / members and when the group changes in LDAP the new set of users not able to see rooms. Is there any way through KM permissions or KM permissions owners can i reflect new group changes to room.
The same behaviour happens for all rooms created through any default template comes with SAP.
I am using custom template which has DiscussionsPage and Room Admin Page.
Please advise.

BizTak SSO - why I cannot change the Windows Group

For some wired reason I an unable to add / change the "Windows Group" for "SSO Administrators" "SSO Affiliate Administrators(s)".
SSO worked, but stopped working after one of the reboots. I'm sure "Windows Group" was there but now those fields are empty and unable to be edited.

That you don't see anything filled can be caused be the fact that your account hasn't the necessary privelleges.
Are you a local admin on that computer?
You can check in de SSO database what is filled in by the query:

Checking WBS elements when changing WBS element group

Dear Gurus,
Well I am a technical consultant, I use to dwell in the ABAP forum, so maybe I am going to say things without much sense, if so please tell me.
I have a problem. One of our customers uses transaction KJH2 to change WBS elements groups and they have asked us to check the WBS elements that the users can put in the transaction.
If a user adds a new WBS range both the WBS elements have to exist in the system, we have to check it somehow, probably using a user-exit or a BADI.
The problem is that I have been looking for a BADI or a USER-EXIT for many hours and I have been unable to find one which allows us to check this, same when the user inputs the WBS element as when we save the changes.
Somebody has some help? Any advice would be apreciated.
In the while I will keep trying to find it and if I succeed I will post it here anyhow.
So long I have put a break-point in the 'CL_EXITHANDLER' class and I have checked the BADIs that can be used when I make the process, none can be useful I think. I have tried to find a USER-EXIT and I have foud none.

Maybe you are right and we can't use a BADI for this. But we have a customer which has requested us to code this data check so I have to try.
I agree that this is master data but it is a simple data check without many consecuences (at least it seems so to me), maybe there is a way to do this.
Right now I think I am going to stop this until Monday as the FI consultant is now on vacation.

When I am trying to upgrade it SP 16, I am getting following error:

Change a Wiki group name?

Hello.
We've had a wiki set up for a certain group and I'm now required to change the name of said group. I set up a test group called "Test Group", created a wiki for them, then I changed the group name/shortname in WGM, but this new name isn't reflected in the wiki.
So, wondering, how do I go about making a change to the group name and have it reflected in the wiki?

i had the same problem, and found a solution which worked for me. some of these steps may not be necessary, but i'm not sure which, so...
1. in workgroup manager, turn off the services and save the group.
2. then, change the shortname (and long name if you wish), and save the group.
3. then, re-enable the services and save the group.
4. stop and restart the webserver and the wikiserver (see below)
5. use a browser to view the brand new, empty wiki for this group, which also creates the folder for the wiki in /Library/Collaboration/Groups
6. on the command line, become root and change to the /Library/Collaboration/Groups directory. in there, rename the new group folder to something else
7. rename the old group folder the new group name
8. inside the old group folder (with the new name), remove the index.db file
9. change all the plist files in this directory and any subdirectories to update the file locations to the new directory... (see below)
10. stop and restart the web and wiki servers (as #4)
11. use a browser to see the old contents under the new name
for items 4 and 10, i created the following script to make it easier for me...

for item 9, as my wiki had nearly 150 pages, i didn't want to edit every file by hand, so inside the group folder i used the following command
sed -e '/oldgroupname/s//newgroupname/' -i .bk `find . -name \*.plist`
obviously, i didn't use "oldgroupname" and "newgroupname", and that command needs to be run as root.
that will use the find command to get the names of all the plist files, and sed will edit each file, changing all instances of the oldgroupname to the newgroupname, and keep a backup of the original plist file with a ".bk" added to the name.

I am trying to implement device modification in the background.
I'm using ISU_S_DEVICEMOD_PROVIDE to get data for a device
and
ISU_S_DEVICEMOD_CHANGE to change data for the same.
I want to change the register group of a device. I am unable to implement this.
Has anybody ever used these function Modules to implement device changes in the back ground.
I would also like to know how would we fill the meterdoc structure.

The main purpose that i want to accomplish is Change register configurations, multiplier, number of dials, allocated register group, unit of measure.

Unable to created users through UME on portal with AS ABAP as its data source.
I have assigned SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION to the user SAPJSF but this only helps in editing the already existing users but not in creating new users on portal.
I have checked that that the role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION is properly generated and has * in all authorizations. I have even assigned SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW to SAPJSF and another ID.
DO we need to make any config changes to make the database writable from portal. Please advise.

If your system is a AS ABAP + +JAVA System,, you have to do the following
1. Login to Client 001 using SAP GUI
2. Create a user id
3. Login to portal and you will be able to see the user.
4.Assign him the portal rights
If you want the portal to use seperate Database for USers, there is a setting in Visual admin, that you can change for the same, but i dont remember that

There is no system Fields for it.
But your requirement can be done with 'AT NEW' and 'AT END' statement.
Refer this sample example,

Change customer Account Group

Hi Experts,
We have two different account groups with different number Ranges. When i try to change the customer account group from one to other through XD07 system given the following warning message.
Customer 600021 not in External Sold-to-Party
- number range 0000100001-0000199999
Message number F2691
We have tried to change this warning message in to Error message through OBMSG and OBA5
after that also system showing warning message.
Where we do mistake? is there any other process to do the changing message?

If You are trying to change the account group of a customer whose partner function is Sold-to-party.
Changes to the account group and the relevent partner functions only made from lower level to higher level.
Example:
Sold-to-party cannot be assigned the function of a payer(Higher level to lower level) because you are trying to change the higher level partner function.
Your can assign sold-to-party function to a payer (Lower level to higher level) because you are trying to change lower level partner function.

How do i use WGM or dcsl to change the primary groups of users, defined by another group?

i've got a ton of users, whose primary group is "current student". they all belong to the other group "year 13"
they've left school, so i thought it would be easy to do a search of users with GID equal to or containing the GID for "year 13" (in this case 1121) and then change their primary group to "left school"
except that doesn't work. i can only search for them in WGM by primary group, it seems. therefore i cannot do any batch operations on a secondary group.
so. how do i do this? is there a way of scripting dcsl to find users by 'other group' and then change the primary group attribute?
i'm going to need to be doing a lot of this (changing the other gropus of a school full of students). bit stumped.

How can we change the purchasing group which it is maintained in R/3?

In case of MM, purchasing group is assigned to material master.
It means purchasing group is maintained based on material code.
But SRM has different maintenance level.
As you know that purchasing group has the responsibility based on material group (Product category).
So we should change the purchasing group from R/3, when end user create shopping cart.
How can we change the purchasing group which it is maintained in material master?

I am not a technical guy.
But for your requirement i am building a logic.
I am not sure whether it will work.
You need to check with your ABAPER.
It is as below:
When the SC is approved and the other configuration is correct ,
PR is created in ECC by the virtue of BAPI.
You want that the pur grp should be populated on the base of matl code and not on matl grp.
Hence in SC you will not fill up pur grp.
In the programme for BBPSC01 i.e. SC creation you will add modification that it will call a custom FM.
This custom FM will get the matl code from SC and will find the value of pur grp from R/3 MM01i.e. matl master(you may get in MARA).
Now in the BAPI you need to incorporate this additional value of yr pur grp field.
So the desired pur grp as per yr R/3 matl master will be populated in yr R/3 PR.
Again: this is all hypothesis.

I changed my wheel group properties to no access at top disk level. I messed up, how can I change back in single user mode "command s" as I am now in Thailand and not able to access startup disks?

I messed up, I changed my "Wheel group" properties to No Access ( or something other than the default) at the top level of my startup disk "Macintosh HD". Now my computer won't start up, I just get the spinning wheel of death. I also am in Thailand right now, so I cannot go to a Genius at an apple store, nor do I have startup disks available.
So I was hoping there was a way to change back the properties of my disk (Volume) in single user mode (via Command +s) during startup, i.e. can I do a chmod command on the Macintosh HD listing under the Volume Directory. Or where do i fix this? Is it fixable without startup disks, etc...

Yes I changed the sharing "Wheel Group" permissions on my hard drive via Get Info. But that's all I did. And then most of the apps wouldn't respond with anything. So not knowing I did something stupid, I decided to re-boot, and then nothing but the Wheel of Death at startup.
I was trying to limit access to my computer on this network, changed my public folder settings, and then I thought why not the whole hard drive, but at that time I had no idea what the "Wheel Group" was... so I shouldn't have touched it, BUT IT DID ...... argggggg....
I managed to go to an internet cafe & research the problem yesterday. I used the command +s single mode to get in, and then did the necessary steps to mount the drive so I could make changes. I basically did this:
Boot into single-user mode (boot while holding down CMD-S)
Follow the on-screen instructions to mount the file system as read-write (a fsck command followed by a mount command)
Type the following: "chmod o+r /" followed by "chmod o+x /"
Type "exit" to leave single user mode and complete the boot sequence.

It worked... thank God!!! Well so far so good.
I was going to try my own fix by chmod on the Hard drive listed under Volumes directory, but that doesn't seem to match the info under Get Info Window. So I just used the fix above. I probably should now go and do "Disk Utility - repair permissions", however I am a little gun shy right now, so I will probably wait until I am back in the States so I can go to an Apple store if it messes up. Right now I'm following the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" MOTTO...

Need to change the targeting group of a Rule or monitor after a alert is created.

I have created many alerts and they are working fine. Currently due to business requirement we have installed Windows server 2012 operating systems in our production environment. But we have targeted the
"Windows server 2008 r2 full operation system" group as per the below screen shot. As we now have to import the management pack for Windows server 2012 as well.
What we have planned is to change the targeting group from "Windows server 2008 r2 full operation system"
to "Windows server operating system group" so the alert / monitor or rule will target all windows server which has been discovered in SCOM rather that only the servers running Windows server 2008 r2.
I was also not able to set overrides for this as that server was not coming under Windows server 2008 r2 full operation system as it was a Windows server 2012 agent.
I can also go ahead and create new alerts but i have created custom of 1000 alerts and i cannot go ahead and re create them.
Is there any way to change them. If yes Can i do a bulk change via powershell ?

You can't really change the target class of a monitor in a sealed vendor pack. If this is your own custom pack, then you can change the target class no problem, but this would need to be done on the unsealed XML (using VSAE or some other authoring tool).
Then you can seal the pack and re-import (should be upgrade compatible, since you are just changing the target).
I'm not familiar with this particular monitor in your screenshot, but it looks like this should probably target Exchange? If this is the case, then I would recommend targeting the closest typed class that the monitor should run against. In this case, some
type of Exchange class that is already in the Exchange management pack.
Otherwise, you can also create your own custom class for targeting, which I describe in detail on my blog.

Error in CIF while change in Material Group in R/3

Hi,
I have assigned Material Group Description as an external field in Extra Tab in APO. When I create a material the CIF updates the filed correctly.
When I change the material group the CIF gives and error "Location does not exist for external location FR02, type , and BSG BSG1" where FR02 is my Plant.
When I delete the queue and re execute the IM the change is updated in APO.
Can someone tell me why the above CIF error appears for every change done.

It is common for experienced ABAPers to be able to determine this on their own. Normally all you should have to do is explain in business terms what is happening, and the ABAPer should be able to troubleshoot the problem without you first discovering the code details for him.
There are a couple of ways to populate the aux fields in the SCM product master. The first userexit I would look at would be CIFMAT01 on the R/3 side.

The system connection is maintained, with the user management as UIDPW and user,admin.
User mapping is possible with my user but not for a group.
