I checked for invalid objects but I couldn't find any. So given the "NO Method getPortletList" I thought it would be fine if I just reload the the "prohttp.jar" . I thus ran the following command:
loadjava -thin -resolve -user portal30/portal30@dbs-resources:1521:portal F:\oracle\isuites\portal30\admin\plsql\lib\prohttp.jarit ran fine , after what I tried to register the provider again but I got the same error
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
My configuration:
AS: 9iAs 1.0.2.2
DB: 9.0.1.1.1 EE
portal 3.0.9.8.3
patches applied: 3.0.9.8.3, 81711, 81715
Thanks,
Rene

Works fine!
I ran loadjava again with the force option( -f) and everything went through successfully.
Tread closed.

  • Cannot register the Web Provider Sample in Portal

    Hi,
    I downloaded the PDK-Java Framework and Samples to install in portal. The Portal version 3.0.9.8 on NT 4.0 platform.
    I followed the instructions all the way to testing the Web Provider Sample set up. I can execute the sample from the Oracle HTTP Server. The test page is displayed correctly. Then I try to register the web provider in Portal. And I encountered the following error:
    An unexpected error occurred: ORA-29531: no method getPortletList in class
    oracle/webdb/provider/web/HttpProviderDispatcher ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception
    ORA-06512: at "PORTAL30.WWPRO_HTTP", line 2684
    ORA-29531: no method getPortletList in class oracle/webdb/provider/web/HttpProviderDispatcher (WWC-43000)
    An unexpected error occurred:
    ORA-29531: no method getPortletList in class oracle/webdb/provider/web/HttpProviderDispatcher (WWC-43000)
    Can anyone tell me what I need to do?
    Thanks;
    Kelly.

    Kelly,
    You want to take a look at the following to try to debug your situation.
    1. Make sure that no tags in the provider.xml say <getPortletList> this tag should not be in there are would not be in there unless altered.
    2. You may have some invalid Java classes in your portal. You may want to check the status on your packages.

    plan is getting delated because of this problem

    Hi Sharmila
    I appreciated your help but I cann't yet figure out the problem.
    First of all the listener is up.
    The datasources.xml file is like that:
         <data-source
              class="com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource"
              name="OracleDS"
              location="jdbc/emulatedPortletPrefs"
              xa-location="jdbc/xa/portletPrefs"
              ejb-location="jdbc/portletPrefs"
              connection-driver="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
              username="portlet_prefs"
              password="portlet_prefs"
              url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:tcp:1521:infraDB.localhost"
         />
    where ifraDB.localhost is the Global database name
    and the 1521 is the port of the listener
    If you can point out any mistake please let me know!
    Thanks alot for the help!

    Check correctness of provider.xml, by typing

    This should display Test Page with provider_name.
    The same download is working fine for me.

    I is till throwing error after changing <wsdl:service name="AVCadDataFeed">Because still there are problems in WSDL. Error description gives the detail -
    Deployment Failed: Unable to find a WSDL that has a definition for service {http://oracle.com/sca/soapservice/ORTDWS/ProcessData/AVCadDataFeed}AVCadDataFeed and port livefeed_pt.
    Make sure that port attribute has right value.
    Also, what should be the value of the <soap:address location attribute in the service elementFrom Web Services Description Language (WSDL) 1.1 specification (http://www.w3.org/TR/wsdl#_soap:address) -
    The SOAP address binding is used to give a port an address (a URI). A port using the SOAP binding MUST specify exactly one address. The URI scheme specified for the address must correspond to the transport specified by the soap:binding.
    <definitions .... >
    <port .... >
    <binding .... >
    <soap:address location="uri"/>
    </binding>
    </port>

  • Unable to register web service in CF 7

    I am unable to register a web service on admin without providing a username/password. the ws works well enough on other systems without even providing the username/password.
    Any replies will be appreciated. thanks!

    Wow, that's interesting (that you can invoke the web service without a username/password in CFML, but can't register it in the Admin).
    Still, I want to understand what makes you want to do that (register it in the admin). You say, "I have a pool of web services to manage so I assume admin to be the best place to maintain them seeing on a broader perspective." I'm not sure what you mean by that.
    Besides a little more explanation, I'd still ask: if you can't get around this (not saying that it should fail, but just if it can't be resolved), do you at least agree that you don't NEED to define the web services this way to use them. In fact, the opposite is true: if you invoke them in CFML (whether with createobject/cfobject/cfinvoke) that will populate this Admin page for each web service that's invoked, so you could "get around" the problem and have all your web services listed this way, for whatever value that offers.
    But yes, it seems it should work the way you want to. I'm not denying that.
    Just trying to help.

    Hi Partner,
    Thank you for your post.
    From your description, I see that the current issue is you notice Event ID 4358 error (source: Microsoft-Windows-MSDTC) logged in Application log.
    Please let me know if I misunderstand anything or you have any additional information.
    Firstly, could you help clarify that what operation you are performing while the issue occur? It would be nice if you can provide a GUI error message if any.
    Currently, based on the error message and my research, some incorrect register key about RPC dynamic port resulting in MSDTC behaves unexpectedly might cause such symptom.
    If that is the case, let's take the following steps to check our issue.
    [Note: As the operation is related to the registry key components, I suggest we backup the entries firstly before performing the steps]
    1. Delete all the register keys about RPC dynamic port you inserted manually.
    2. Configure the ports via UI.
    3. Reboot the server.
    Please let me know if there is any update. Thank you for your time.
    Best Regards,
    Sophia Sun

  • PDK samples

    I installed the PDK to a standalone oc4j according to directions at http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDK/jpdk/v2/installing.pdkjava.v2.html#testingDeployment.
    When I test deployment at http://localhost:8888/jpdk/providers/sample, I get "Can't read deployment properties for service: sample" I looked through forums for info and checked that the sample.properties file is there, the sample provider xml is there and I added the library paths in the config/application.xml file:
    <library path="../../../portal/jlib/pdkjava.jar"/>
    <library path="../../../portal/jlib/portaltools.jar"/>
    <library path="../../../portal/jlib/ptlshare.jar"/>
    <library path="../../../portal/jlib/tidy.jar"/>
    <library path="../../../jlib/ldapjclnt9.jar"/>
    <library path="../../../jlib/regexp.jar"/>
    <library path="../../../jlib/share.jar"/>
    <library path="../../../jlib/uix2.jar"/>
    <library path="../../../webcache/jlib/jawc.jar"/>
    <library path="../../home/jazn.jar"/>
    What else can go wrong?

    I checked that the sample.properties was pointing to the provider.xml in the sample folder. I also set up and tried to run the urlsample with no luck.
    Here is the error:

  • Need help to register HFM sample applications in Shared Services

    Hi all,
    I have installed HFM 9.3.1 on the server and I have issues in locating the sample application in the HFM console. I want to register the sample application with Hyperion shared services. But when I tried opening the application, I do not see the sample application and also got an error saying,"cannot connect to server".
    When I tried creating new application I got an error saying,"there is an error retrieving the user management project list.Please verify that the project exists".
    All I want to do is, to provision the shared services users to the HFM sample applications. Could you provide some suggestions to overcome this issue? I'll appreciate your quick response.

    Try using the server name instead of the cluster name.
