Unable to setup HP 2015dn printer on windows 7 64bit

I have configured HP 2015dn printer in windows xp machine. we are using that shared printer on another desktop on which windows 7 32bit OS is instlled. I am not able to setup printer in one all of the machines on which I have installed windows 7 64bit.
I think it's a problem of driver. This printer driver is availble in windows 7 but only for 32 bit. So there is any other solution to installed that shared printer on windows 7 64bit machin.
Note- All systems are brand new and geniue OS.

Hi ashokp,
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .

  • Unable to create DSN using SQLConfigDataSource on windows 64bit

    Hi all,
I have a 32bit application that needs to be ported and installed on to 64bit Win2k3 server.
During installation of the product, Install script is failing to create a DSN using SQLConfigDataSource API on 64bit windows2k3 server.
I installed 32 bit Oracle client(10.2) on the 64bit m/c, despite this, I am getting an error "ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified, Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed"
But when I invoke odbcad32.exe from "C:\windows\syswow64\", I am able to see all 32bit drivers and I am able to create the DSN and Test the connection successfully to a 64bit ORACLE 10g DB installed on the same m/c. I am even able to connect to the same database from the COMMAND PROMPT through the command "sqlplus" with same credentials and SID.
Based on observations from the debug, I feel the Installer is picking up odbcad32.exe from "C:\windows\system32\" folder. Hence what I did was, I copied the 32 bit odbcad32.exe from "c:\windows\syswow64" folder into the above folder. At this juncture, the product Installer was able to create the DSN, but it is still failing to TEST the connection successfully and my Installer quits giving the above error.
Can somebody help me out in this regard, about how I can overcome this problem. Is there something that I am missing ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Murali.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.
If I access the SQLPLUS from the below 3 locations and connect through the same user credentials(test/test@orcl) and same SID, the connections are successful.
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\BIN\sqlplusw.exe(64 bit DB server)
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\BIN\sqlplusw.exe(64 bit Client)
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_2\BIN\sqlplusw.exe(32 bit Client)
The TNSNAMES.ORA file in all the below 3 locations have the same content !!
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\NETWORK\ADMIN (64 bit DB server)
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\NETWORK\ADMIN (64 bit Client)
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_2\NETWORK\ADMIN (32 bit Client)
Hence my concern turned over to the error details which point to " Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed".
When I debugged my code, I could see the SQLConfigDataSource() is getting called with params (NULL, "ODBC_ADD_SYS_DSN", "Oracle in OraClient10g_home2", "DSN=DSNTemp;UID=test;PWD=test")
The above values suggest, Oracle 32bit driver is used to create the above TEMP DSN. I think my setup's runtime is picking up 64bit ODBC DATA SOURCE ADMINISTRATOR from "C:\windows\odbcad32.exe" by default, which cannot find the specified 32 bit driver !!
Do you think my assumption is valid/true ? If so, how can I make my SETUP's runtime to pick up 32 bit ODBC DSA from "C:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32.exe"?
Can you suggest me what might create the above error(Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed). Do you think there is some problem with the Connection string ?
    Thanks for you help,
    Murali

  • Universal Printer Driver for HP LaserJet 2015dn & 64-bit Windows 7 Lacks Many Features

On my new computer with 64-bit Windows 7 Professional, I tried installing the drivers from the LaserJet 2015dn's CD in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode.  It produced error messages, but one time it got far enough to print, but it did not provide all the feature functionality present on my XP machines.  (Such as Print On Both Sides, Correct Order for Straight Paper path, selectable customized settings I can save, etc.)  When I went to the HP site directly, for my specific printer with "Windows 7 64-bit", I was directed to a Universal Driver file (the only choice) that gave essentially the same result -- except that Print On Both Sides is now available, but not any of the other features I use regularly.  (For example, on my XP machines I am able to set up multiple Print Task Quick Sets in the Printing Preferences "Finishing" tab so that I can quickly select one with the features I want for a specific print job.  That feature is not available with the Universal Driver.)
Please tell me how I can get the full functionality of the P2015dn to be available in 64-bit Windows 7.
I hope there is a specific driver set available for that printer that accesses all the features.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
If you wish to keep print both sides as default, pleae try:
    (a) Double click (or touch) "HP Photosmart 5520" icon (should be one on desktop,
    (b) Click Set Preferences
    (c) In "Lay out" tab, there are 3 options in print Both sides, select "Flip on Long Edge" (normally for Portrait printing)
    (d) Click "Apply"
You can overwrite this default when printing from applications using Printer properties.

  • Unable to Print in Windows with Vmware Fusion HP LaserJet 1006

Prints fine on the Mac with 10.6.1 and HP driver updates.
Printer worked flawlessly with Leopard 10.5.8
Will not print in windows. Open the print queue and it says it is printing (it isn't), sometimes the message is that it is waiting for the printer to become available, (printer is available).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Alan

The print job gets sent to the printer, but it wont print. It says waiting for printer to become available. When this happens I am also unable to print from the Mac side and have to restart the computer to be able to print from the MacBook. Simply turning off the printer and then turning it on doesn't help.

  • Unable to print finder window

Back in the days of MACOS 7, 8 and 9.0 operating systems, one could print any finder window (dailogue box) by simply holding down the "apple" key and hitting "p".
How can I print finder windows with Mac OSX? I want to make lists of what is in certain folders.
    Thanks.

Not like it used to be, but still possible.
    1) Drag the folder to any printer icon (Printer Setup, a Desktop printer or a printer in the Printer Setup list, for example)
    2) Get the free utility Print Window (www.versiontracker.com)
    3) Drag the folder to the free Text Wrangler for a better hierarchical view, then print.

  • Unable to load Canon MP160 printer driver

I've had the hardest time using my Canon MP160 printer on my iMac (Mac OS 10.5). In fact, I'm not able to print at all.
I have the printer connected via USB. It always has been. However, it only stopped working recently.
I downloaded the drivers for the printer and scanner from Canon's web site. However, when I attempt to load the printer driver, the "Installing Canon IJ Printer Driver" window appears. It gets to the "Finishing Installation" part in the process. But it "hangs" at some point and does not complete. I've tried it twice. It hung at two different points in the process. I tried letting it run overnight. That was no good.
I've also looked for the "Printer Setup Utility" and can't seem to find that anyplace. I'm wondering why I can't find that.
If anybody could help me solve this, I'd be so thankful.

Hello marconi10. Welcome to the HP Forums. I understand you are unable to install your printer on one computer, over a wireless connection. I'm going to suggest a very simple workaround, which if it works, will remove any complicated troubleshooting that would be necessary:
Please try installing the printer with a USB connection. If this does not work, you know that there is an issue occurring with the computer.
If this does work, the printer will be successfully installed. At that point, you can change the connection type from USB to wireless. For more information on how to do this, please reference this HP document: Convert from a USB connected printer to wireless
If the printer will still not connect wireless, this will point out a computer issue. For additional information and troubleshooting, relating to the inability of installing the printer over a wireless network, please reference this HP document: 'Unable to Find Printer' Error Message Displays on the Computer During Wireless Network Installation
Please respond with the results of your troubleshooting. I'm only here to help!

  • Print to windows attached printer

    Hi!
I am facing a "small" problem here in my home lan. I have to computers connected. One is running Windows XP and has attached an Epson Stylous C60 printer. The other is running redhat 9 (2.4.8-20smp)
I have managed to make thw two boxes "talk" via samba.
    $ rpm -q samba
    samba-2.2.7a-7.9.0
I can read/write from one box to another without problem. The windows can see the linux through the lan and the linux can see the windous after mounting the share. But the thing I cannot do is print from linux to the windows attached printer.
First of all I checked if the printer is supported redhat and I found out that it is.
    http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_p...pson-Stylus_C60
So this eliminates the obvious question: Can you print with this printer from linux in the first place?
I've read many things about how to print to windows, like
    http://www.idevelopment.info/data/U...tLinuxSMB.shtml
    http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/...mb-printer.html
as well as many stuff from google search But there is no way I can solve my problem. I follow the instructions but still I can't print
    I also tried cups
    $ rpm -q cups
    cups-1.1.17-13
But there too I faced the same proble.
Can someone help me out here because I need that printer. I attach my smb.conf file. Any other information I will be standing by to submit.

This easy to follow procedure (5 web pages with screen shots) worked for MacBook Pro 10.6.8 via Wireless-N to Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64 using USB Cable to HP Officejet 7210 All-in-One.  This configuration had worked with Windows XP.

  • Deskjet 3050 J610 Wifi Printing on Windows 8.1

So I've successfully Connected my printer wirelessly to my router. Its an HP Desjet 3050 J610 Series.
    Steps reproduced.
    - Installed Drivers (Run as admin)
    - Setup Printer over Wifi via HP setup. Success. I'm even able to ping my printer!
    - Print a test page Over wifi...Error!
    - Used WPS Sync Button on both Printer and Wifi Router..Failed
    - Reset PC.
    - Uninstall/Re-Install Drivers. Still Failing.
    End
Priting works fine Via USB but not over wifi. I have a Linsys E1200 Router. I've also checked Printer/File sharing is enabled, & ran the Windows Auto Troubleshooter. But no dice, status displays "Error" on Device and Printer Settings.

    Hello LL_01,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see you have been trying to setup the Deskjet 3050 on Windows 8.1 over WiFi, it will allow you to ping the printer but not print.
See if the Print and Scan Dr is able to locate the printer over the network and print with it.
If unable, try reconfiguring the printer via USB, these steps removed from this guide: Installing the Printer Software for a Wireless Network Connection.
Optional : If you previously installed the software for a USB connection and now want to change to a wireless network connection, follow these instructions to remove the USB installation before you continue.
Right-click the Start button ( ) or the lower left corner of the screen, and then clickSearch .
In the Search box, type HP , and then click the icon for your printer. The printer software opens.
Click Utilities , and then click Printer Setup & Software Selection .
Click Convert a USB connected printer to wireless or Connect a new printer (the phrase differs depending on the version of software your computer is running).
Follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing the software. Once the printer has been set up on the wireless network, there is no need to continue with the steps in this document.

  • On an M425dn, I am unable to setup scan to network folder on a home wireless network

On an M425dn MFP, I am unable to setup 'Scan to Network Folder' on a home wireless network. The network folder exists and has been set to share with full permissions for everyone. The OS is Windows 7. The printer IP address is 192.168.1.104. I have used this in a browser to access the setup tab called Scan. I have established a network folder and have attempted to test the setup folder multiple times. The tests end in one of two ways. The attempt spins endlessly which requires a cancel action or it ends with the following error: "Cannot connect to the network folder. Ensure the shared folder name is correct." The network folder does indeed exist.
The computer name is Delta. The shared folder name is Images on my A: drive.
So the network path entered is \\DELTA\Images. By the way, printing to this network printer is always a succesful operation. Any guidance to solving this dilemma will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Can't print to Windows 7 shared printer from Mac OS Lion

    Dear all,
I would like to share my experience battling to figure out how to print to Windows 7 shared printer from Mac OS Lion. Myself had this problem and looking throughly in internet without success. But finally I figured out the solution by myself, hope this can help other Mac user with similar problem.
OK, when I try to setup my new MacBook Pro with OS Lion to connect with my Canon MX308 printer attached to desktop with Windows 7 Ultimate,
    1. I simply select System Preferences>Print & Scan.
    2. Then looks for the + sign just below the box to add a new printer.
    3. From the option toolbar above, I select Windows. I have connect this MacBook with my Windows Network, so the workgroup will appear to the left column.
    4. After I select this group, the computer list will appear in the middle column
    5. Then after I select the computer which my printer connected to, my printer sharename will appear in the right column
    6. Last step is to select the printer I want to use.
    7. After that it will automatically put your printer sharename to the "Name". And then I select my printer driver at "Print Using" and find my printer manufacturer which is Canon MX300 series from driver lists. Finish!
My printer appear in the Printers List. But the problem is everytime I try to print there will be error message saying "ON HOLD Authentication Required".
This problem start to kill me, I search all around for similar problem, but the solution was never worked for me!
Until just now I figured out accidentally for the solution.
THE PROBLEM LIES ON MY PRINTER DRIVER!!!! Although I have downloaded the most update driver from Apple site and Apple Software update said there is no more update for my system!
The solution for my problem is Gutenprint Printer Driver! You can download this driver at http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php, then select for the latest driver gutenprint-5.2.7.dmg. Install this driver!
Then back to Print & Scan in System Preferences, then right click on Printers List box, then choose "Reset Printing System..." to clear the previous failed printers.
After that, repeat the above step 2 - 7. Only for the last step I need to select the Printer Driver for my Canon MX308 for the driver name : "Canon PIXMA MX300 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.7"
Now I can sleep as a baby knowing that my printer make a friend with my new Macbook Pro! Hope this will help others!

I have the same setup but with a Canon MX850.  This did not fix my problem.
