Hi Patrick,
Thanks for your reply.
We've done a restore, but its a file system restore of db2 of /db2/db2qas/sapdata1...6.
Hence after the restore, im able to db2start but not "db2 connect to QAS"
If you have any restoration experience, pls do share with me the necessary path of /db2 need to be restored? Pls find my server's file system structure below:-

Unable to Start UCM Content Managed Server (UCM_server1) due to LDAP issue
Hi,
Brief of Steps followed so far -
1. Installed Oracle WebCenter in Weblogic Domain 1, created the relevant schemas using RCU and able to successfully start the managed servers for WebCenter middleware apps - Spaces / Portal server etc.
2. Installed Oracle Content in Weblogic Domain 2, created the relevant schema for the middleware app using RCU.
3. Weblogic Admin Server starts successfully and am able to launch the 'console' and 'em' app, successfully.
4. When I try to start the UCM_server1 managed server, with command
startManagedWebLogic UCM_server1 http://<my localhost ip>:8001/console, it throws below error.
NOTE - I HAVE TRIED THE EXISTING response to similar problem available in the forum -
a. Tried deleting the LDAP files from the C:\oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\content_base_domain\servers\UCM_server1 directory and re-starting
b. Tried checking the windows host file and updating for localhost.
Plausible Error Statement
Have highlihgted in bold, the first exception is thrown by getDNForUser search statement.
Error Traced on UCM_server1

Has anyone encountered a similar problem, and report a plausible fix for the same.

INDIA-8805019989Got another thread - Unable to start managed server. for the right answer.
Solution In all-
1. Start your admin server
2. Change the Listen Address of both Admin and Managed Server to "localhost" and save the settings
3. Re-start the Admin Server
4. Change the host file to cover "localhost" resolving address with an entry - 127.0.0.1 localhost
5. Start the managed server - startManagedWeblogic UCM_server1 http://localhost:7001/
There is no problem in the boot.properties file, so no need to delete the existing security files.

UdayI will just copy/paste my post -
I was going through another similar problem thread, some of the suggestions were -
Check the permissions of /var/db2/global.reg file. Also, you can try command 'db2iupdt instance_name to update the permission problems. Command should be executed by root user. db2iupdt program should exist in DB2DIR.
Also, what's the DB2 version and fixpack level ?
Thanks -

Unable to Start Install 8i/9i on Solaris
I have downloaded the Solaris version 8i (8.1.7) and 9i
(9.0.1.1) with a PC machine from the web site. Then I transfer
these files to another machine with Solaris 8. When I run the
gunzip command, it states that the file is not in gzip format!
Please advise how to fix this problem. Thanks.
SKDid you FTP them to your Solaris box using ASCII or BIN mode?

Done.Solved the problem myself. Had to stop and restart cache agent using the timesten software installation account and not as root.
Documentation is not clear as to what happens when you install timesten using a "non root" account. Per documentation, we have to run setuproot script to create startup / stop scripts under init directory. With a non-root installation these scripts are created and on reboot agent process inherits the root account privs. This is a problem. For a non-root install the agent process should inherit the privs of the account that performed the installation and not root's.
May be a documentation correction is needed here. -

ChidamDear experts, As i have updated as per yours inputs and still unable to start sap. Kindly help.
1. SAPDBHOST is now accepting and there is no issues on "SAPDBHOST unknown."
2. dscdb6.conf file is available and it has all permission (including login userlevel)
3. dscdb6.conf was recreated new and tried, still dev_w0 shows

Sp6 - unable to start weblogic server
hi,
I have weblogic 5.1 running in solaris 2.6 & service pack 3. Weblogic is
fine
with these environment settings. I tried to install Service pack 6. I
included
weblogicsp6.jar & weblogicsp6boot.jar instead of weblogicsp3.jar &
weblogicsp3boot.jar.
Now i am unable to start the weblogic server.
error while starting the server is :-
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
weblogic/common/T3ServicesFinderDef
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass0(Native Method) .....
I checked my startup script, its fine with weblogicsp6boot.jar, the
first entry
in the java classpath & weblogicsp6.jar, the first entry in
-Dweblogic.class.path.
anyone has the answer? is there any issue in servicepack 6.
regards
Arun.
reply to [email protected]This is almost always a result of not installing the service pack correctly.
You should check the documentation on the service pack to doublecheck that
you have the correct settings.

Problem in starting Weblogic 5.1 with Solaris 2.6
Hi all:
I am getting the following errors when I run Weblogic 5.1 on Solaris 2.6. I
am going to the prompt and
executing startWebLogic.sh command. Do we have to write a KSH for this. I am getting
the following errors. My first question is that do we need
Java version 1.2 or above to execute WLS5.1. My license file has the valid license
entries in the file. Please go
through it and give me suggestions.

Hi all:
I am getting the following errors when I run Weblogic 5.1 on Solaris
2.6. I
am going to the prompt and
executing startWebLogic.sh command. Do we have to write a KSH for this.
I am getting
the following errors. My first question is that do we need
Java version 1.2 or above to execute WLS5.1. My license file has the
valid license
entries in the file. Please go
through it and give me suggestions.
My License file entries:

AD4J: Unable to start Heap Dump due to OS Error
When Java 'Heap Dump' is requested, the following message is shown:
Unable to start Heap Dump due to OS Error.
Details of the monitored JDK and application server are given below:
JDK: Sun JDK 1.4.2_08 on Solaris 9
Application Server: WebLogic 8.1 SP4
1. What could be the possible cause? No errors are logged in jamserv/logs/error_log. Is there any way to enable detailed logging?
2. Each time the heap dump is requested, a file of the format heapdump<n> gets created in /tmp (e.g. /tmp/heapdump12.txt). If you see the file, it contains the following:
a) a line containing summary of the heap usage, and
b) stack traces of all the threads
