Unable to stop/start SIA Agent - BOBJ XI 3.1 on RedHat Linux

We have the BOBJXI 3.1 installed on the Red Hat Linux Machines(Custom Installation across Two Red Hat Linux Servers).
Node 1 - Linux BOX 1 - Tomcat and all the BOBJ Services except CMS
Node 2 - Linux BOX 2 - MySql and CMS
Problem Description :
We have two instances of the CMS running on the Linux BOX2.
I have assigned the port 6401 to the CMS2 through CMC,The CMS1 is running with deafult port 6400.
CMS is stopped thorugh the CMC.
Through the command line ccm.sh tool on the Linux BOX2,We tried to stop the CMS.
        ./ccm.sh -stop all or sia agent .The Script is not doing anything .
Unable at start/enable the servers on Node2-Linux BOX 2
        ./ccm.sh - start all
        Message on the Command Prompt:
        Starting all the servers...
        Failed to Register Name Server:Reason:A Server of this name already exists( STU00188)
        ./ccm.sh - enable all
        Creating Session Manager
        Logging into CMS
        err: ERROR could not logon to CMS ( STU00152).
        err: ERROR Description:The System ..can be contacted but their is no CMS running at port 6401.

This looks like an issue with your pid file which is created whent he server starts and should be deleted but may not have been.
Look in <bobj home>/serverpids directory for the pid file that relates to the server process. If you find that file, delete it.
What I think is happening is the system is checking to see if the pid file exists which should tell it if the server is there. The pid is there so it says it can't start. But the actual program isn't there so when you try to use it, it says it's not up.

Thanks for your answer friend. My admin has successfully killed my session forcebully. And he doubted that i may not have enough rights to Stop/Start application and he provided me the required rights. After that also the error is repeating as below. we two are not getting where we went wrong.

Unable to print from 11.5.9 on laserjet 2600n on Redhat Linux 4.0 AS

Dear Experts,
We recently purchased HP LaserJet Color 2600n. After we bought and installed it in the office network, I was supposed to add this printer in our Redhat Linux 4.0 AS server. While adding this printer, we realized that it is not present in the standard list of printer drivers. And none was available on HP.com for Linux OS!
After some research, I downloaded and installed driver from the following site - http://foo2hp.rkkda.com/
The test printout came but in black and white.
I went and registered this printer in my 11.5.9 apps
All details same as another working HP Laserjet 4050 printer.
I cannot print anything from my application!
I get the following error:

Also, I could install PL/SQL Web Toolkit using the same DAD. But Cartridge server just refuses to come up. If anyone has a solution for this, it would be a great help!!

We had the same problem with the PL/SQL cartridge (OWS-04764 ...). We solved our problem with a new kernel. Its important that you have a kernel with symmetric multi-processing support (SMP) enabled, independent if you have a one or two processor machine.

Not able to start the concurrent Managers in Release 12 on Redhat Linux 4

Hi,
I was able to successfully install Release 12 Vision on Other than Linux.. Every thing is working fine but concurrent managers are not active except the Internal Manager. Rest of the Managers has no value in the node name field and the status is "Target node/queue unavailable".. I also ran adcmcmtl.sh to manually stop and start the managers but still facing the same issue.. Other than the install, i have not applied any patches..
Please tell me what i'm missing..

Check the CM log file for any errors.
Have you tried to recover the CM from OAM? Shutdown the CM first and run this step.

Unable to stop agent / start agent!!!

one of the process emagent is running. Even when I issue command kill -i PID. that is not getting killed.

When I try to stop. start and status of emctl this is what am getting.. I am giving emagent.trc as well.

You will need to go to the server that has the OMS and unregister this agent. Sadly I don't remember the command to unregister an agent of the top of my head.
This also means you have a configuration error with your agent.

Stopping/starting BO4 via scheduled script (SIA enough?)

We are wishing to implement a backup stratgey for our new BO4 deployment running on 2 windows servers against Oracle 11 CMS database.
Wish to have cold backups in addition to hot ones.
In order to implement cold backups will need to bring the BOE services down via script.
Just wondered as to best practice.
1) Is it sufficient to simply stop the SIA via script and what would command be. In old XIR2 we have net stop and net start server names.
I'm assuiming fine to leave Tomcat up and running during this time - will be for up to 1 hr during night when nobody using system.

Create a file C:\Windows\reboot-script.bat and put the following command string in it:
shutdown /r /f /d P:4:1
/r = reboot
/f = force running applications to close (this shuts down BOE and Tomcat)
/d P:4:1 = the reason for the reboot (P=Planned)
     the numbers are Major and Minor reasons for the reboot
     4:1 = Application:Maintenance
     4:2 = Application:Installation
(The /d and it's following parameters are not really necessary but I put them in there so that my Wintel support team can see the reboot is planned and executed by me)
With that one command string in your *.bat file, you can then use Task Scheduler to "Start a Program" at the specified time you need.
CAUTION: If you set this up and run it under your own ID, that can lead to inconsistent results. It's really much better to run it as SYSTEM (your Windows Admin has to get involved) or a Service Account. This is on the General tab of the Task Scheduler.

I am unable to get SQL Server Agent to run after installing SQL 2012 Standard with SP1. Log message is as follows:

According to your error message, there might three reasons for this issue.
xplog70.dll is corrupt, you need to check if you have any SQL Server running on same file version and same production
edition. If xplog70.dll is corrupt, you can copy it from the new server where agent is running fine to your problematic server.
Native client not installed properly. If you try applying any latest Service Pack or Cumulative Update then check if the SQL Server Agent can start, if that also doesn’t solve issue then try to reinstalling SQL Server Native client from SQL Server setup
files.

Script to Stop/Start Oracle Apps windows services

I am trying to script 2 batch files, one to stop services and one to
start services.
So far I have the folloing for the stop script:
Stop services:
set ORACLE_HOME=e:\oracle\<sid>ora\8.0.6
set ORACLE_SID=<SID>
NET STOP "Oracle Reports Server [Rep60_HPP1]"
NET STOP OracleApacheServerHPP1_spud

However sometimes the concurrent manager fails to stop correctly and I
have to issue a 2nd command to forcefully shut it down. Does anyone
know how I can write this into my script? before it moves onto the
Apps Listener?

The error we sometimes get is that the concurrent manager was unable to stop we have to then use the following command to shut them down:
CONCSUB.EXE APPS/appspassword@PROD SYSADMIN "System Administrator" SYSADMIN WAIT=Y CONCURRENT FND ABORT
I was trying to use net stop in the script and if this didn't work, the script would issue the command above.

Unable to open service BOE120 TOMCAT and Unable to STOP severs in CCM

Hi Everyone,
i have installed business object Edge series 3.0 in windows 2008 server standard edition. I also installed crystal 2008, xcelsius engage 2008 , live office, SAP GUI 7.10. I did not installed SAP Integration yet. The installation has done in 'D-drive' instead of 'C-drive'. The installation has been done successfully for above products.
Now i am facing two problems.
In CCM, both TOMCAT and SIA are in running state.
1. when i try to open tomcat configuration, i am getting an error as below
' Unable to open service BOE120 TOMCAT'
2. In CCM, when try to stop the TOMCAT or SIA, system showing an error
'Unable to stop the service, Access Denied'.
But when i go to windows services, there i can able to stop tomcat.
What could be the reasons for above error? Wait for your reply.

Problem with starting OEM-agent on NT (clustered)

We have problem with starting the OEM-agent (9i) on Windows 2000. The Nt-server is clustered.
I have started the OracleAgent by the service screen. Everyting looks ok.
But, from the server where the OEM-console is installed I can't contact the
agent.
I stopped then the agent and started it by typing;
d:\oracle\ora92\bin\agntsrvc.exe
Than i get the error:
StartServiceCtrlDispatcher Failed with err 1063
Anyone an idea?

Unable to find Workflow environment agent

We are using forte version 5.0.5 on a solaris 8 box. The system was working fine it is been used by different developers. But the system when tried to take a restart, gave the following exceptions.
1) At the FNscript

trc:lo:25, set it and re-start.
Please post the error stack trace you get and I might be able to help you out.

What you have written is the stop order and the reverse is start order.
and wat is HYS9ESBAgent11.1.1.1_Hypservice_1??It is the essbase agent running in the background services and available in
$Hyperion Home\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\bin\ESSBASE.exe

Unable to stop Windows Server Backup

WSE2012. Backup regularly hangs while trying to back up one of our server disks to an external usb drive. Both source and destination drives check out ok - no fragmentation, disk errors, plenty of free space. Tried to Stop the backup gracefully
via the UI by right-mouse clicking the server listed in Dashboard>Devices tab and choosing Stop backup... but this is unable to stop it.
Tried to stop the block level backup engine service exe (wbengine.exe) but it appears to be orphaned and unkillable.
Task Manager shows wbengine.exe is running, so I've tried doing these things from an elevated command prompt:
1. wbadmin stop job -- this returns The process could not be terminated. There is no running instance of the task.
2. TASKKILL /F /IM wbengine.exe - same error message as above.
Short of rebooting the machine or unplugging the usb drive (which sometimes works but leads to data corruption), how can the backup be stopped and restarted?

Thank you but no such luck. We're running Windows Server 2012 Essentials and we don't have 3rd-party software running on the server except for BackupAssist. We started with wbadmin, have moved to trying BackupAssist (BA), now am working with
their support team. Latest suggestion is to go back to native Windows Server Backup. But I have seen this issue before we installed BA. I will wait until we duplicate the problem there before responding here again, but my best solution is
to either unplug the backup drive (forcing a cancellation) or reboot the server. This has really got us baffled.

Starting ssh-agent on login

ssh-agent is a blessing for convenient yet secure remote access, but the standard tool to start it up on login is in my opinion overly complicated. Keychain is a script in more than 1500 lines of code for doing essentially what I do in 8 lines. It does of course have tons more features, but I don't see any reason for all of that. Here's my /etc/profile.d/ssh-agent.sh, I hope somebody finds it useful:
