Unable to Sync to iphone (WiFi or USB Cable) in iPhoto

I have an iPhone 4s and for some reason it is no longer connecting to iPhoto. When I plug in to manually Sync it just sits there after I click import. Nothing happens. I have WiFi on (all my other apps like bookmarks, ical and notes sync) but not the pictures from the iPhone to iPhoto. HOWEVER, shared photo streams will show up on my phone, although it causes iPhoto to crash! Easy solution is to use image capture to import to the desktop (won't import into iPhoto either) then manually move them into iPhoto. Has anyone got any clue as to what is happening? At the end of the day it's just a distraction and more annoying than anything else.
It just doesn't work.

Thanks Terence,
I took your advice and it turns out it had the same problem under a different user. So, I redownloaded the latest version of iPhoto from the app store, uninstalled the old version and reinstalled. Still have the same problem. Not sure what to do. I guess I will have to wait and hopefully Apple will have a fix. It's really frustrating, but not the end of the world, software problems are known to happen on all computers I suppose. Too bad there's not some super computer out there. Besides, I need to focus on my Photoshop work and not worry about why a non-essential program isn't working. Thanks for your advice.

iTunes is a mess! It couldn't find it's own libraries and I was forced to create a new one. Now I don't know where my music is or if any's missing.

    How crap is that?
    It's not crap at all.
It's not that simple. For example, I've 3500 songs on my MacBook but don't want them all on my phone, so I have to manually select each song again???
There has to be a solution.
Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?
and maintain a current backup of your computer.

You have posted to the iTunes Match forum, which your question does not appear to be related to. You will probably get better help by posting in the Using iPhone forum.

  • Unable to sync my iphone with itunes over wi-fi

This might be me be being extremely dumb, but I am unable to sync my iphone with itunes over wi-fi. I have itunes 10.5 on windows, have iOS 5. When I plug my phone into my computer I have ticked the box on the device summary screen enabling wi-fi sync but when I go into my iPhone menu, the "sync now" box is greyed out and it just says that it will resume sync when my computer is available.
    Any suggestions>??

Sign me up for a "me too"
updated 1 iPad,1 iPod and 2 iPhone4s and sync works on all but my iPhone4
Each iP* device has it's own Windows 7 system to sync with
When I unplug the iPad, iPod or other iPhone, the device stays in the devices list in iTunes
When I unplug my iPhone, it disappears from the devices list (which makes me think it's iTunes being petulant)
Have tried rebooting bot windows and the iPhone, disabling the firewall and 'repairing' iTunes
It's a 64 bit windows 7, FWIW, but the other iPhone 4 talks nice to a 64 bit windows 7

  • Unable to sync my iPhone with iTunes all of a sudden...

I'm presently unable to sync my iPhone with iTunes for some odd reason. It says "Syncing is disabled on this computer." I checked the iTunes settings and it said under "Syncing" in the preferences that it was in fact enabled so I don't see why all of a sudden I'm having these problems. Any suggestions?

I first reset the sync services in the (Applicantions - Utilities) Terminal: killall SyncServer syncuid SystemUIServer
Then I went to *User/Library/Application Support and dragged the SyncServices folder to the Trash.
Then I logged out from the Apple Menu.
    Then I logged back in.
Now all of the syncing services are working correctly.

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
Do you have an iPad 3 as well? And is yours not experiencing any issues close to mine?
    Thanks again!

If you are indeed using 10.5.8 as indicated in your signature you will first need to upgrade to Snow Leopard; this is available in the Online Apple Store. You will then be able to uprade to Lion - again available in the Online Store where you will get a code to enable download from the App Store in Applications. This will enable you to use iCloud and run the latest iTunes.

  • PDF from a MacBook Pro to my iPhone via a USB cable

    Hello!!!!
How can I transfer pdf files from my mac to my iPhone using a usb cable? All I want to be able to do is email files off with my iPhone. I'm going away for a few days so don't really need to get mobile broadband for my mac but I can imagine a client calling to ask if I can send them a rough design layout!
    Hope that makes sense!
    Louisa

    Not a feature of iphone.
You can get an App from the app store to store files via wi - fi, or you can e-mail it to yourself and keep it in your mail until you are ready to forward it on to someone else.

Are you connecting your iPhone directly to your PC or to a USB hub?

    If not why option available
    Thanks!

What Carolyn says is correct. You can, however, share an Internet connection with your iPhone wirelessly by turning in Internet sharing (found in System Preferences > Sharing.) If your MacBook Pro is already using a wireless connection, you can just connect to the same wireless network it is using.
    Best of luck.

After i update to ios7 and also update itunes to last version, i got a message like 'could not back up the iphone, because a session could not be start with the iphone'. does anyone know how to deal with it. I never meet this question before i update to ios7

    Hello Lazyboy7,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you are getting an error message from iTunes when trying to manually backup with your USB cord.
I found this article to help troubleshoot what might be going on here:

  • Unable to sync new iPhone 4s. I have iTunes version 10.6.1. Using Windows 7. My device appears on iTunes but I am not able to select the sync option and it does not automatically start the sync option when plugged in. Ive tried reseting the device.

I am unable to sync my new iPhone 4s OR my iPod Touch 4 to iTunes.(this is the first time I am plugging them into iTunes) I have version 10.6.1. Both devices are up to date with the latest software version. Once I plug the device in, it is recognized on iTunes. The synce process does not start automatically. I am unable to select the sync option. I've tried reseting the device and restarting iTunes and the same problem happens. I have plugged in my husbands iPhone 3gs and the sync process starts automatically. I have also added my computer as an authorized computer for the new devices. What now?

    Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
