Unable to TFTP files in Solaris 10 running LMS 3.2

Hi everybody,
I have a tac case open on this and can't seem to get a solution for my problem.  I am running LMS 3.2 on a solaris 10 box.  I am able to manually tftp files to the box by logging in the the remote router and isuing:
copy flash:vlan.dat tftp
Ofcourse I have to manually create the file in tftpboot first so it can be copied over.
When RME tries to archive the vlan.dat file it fails and I get this error.
VLAN
CM0151 VLAN RUNNING Config fetch failed for x.x.x.119 Cause:
VLAN Config fetch is not supported using TFTP.
Couldnot determine the tftpboot directory.Couldnot determine the tftpboot directory.
VLAN Config fetch is not supported using SCP.
What could cause RME to fail to determine the tftpboot directory.
RME is able to log in to the device and issue:  "copy flash:vlan.dat tftp"  becasue if I check the incoming connections on the box I can see the TFTP attemps.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks

Permissions.  Check the permissions on /etc, /etc/inet, and /etc/inet/inetd.conf.  Make sure casuser can read and search each directory, and read the inetd.conf file.  That is, /etc and /etc/inetd should have 0755 permissions, and inetd.conf should have 0644 permissions.  Make sure the inetd.conf contains an uncommented line:
tftp    dgram   udp     wait    root    /opt/CSCOpx/bin/in.tftpd        in.tftpd -s /tftpboot

For the benefit of anyone who experiences this error in IIS7, the IUSR_xxx user no longer exists. You must grant permissions to "IIS APPPOOL\hfmAppPool" instead (select the local machine as the "Location" if Windows Explorer complains).
Similarly, for the benefit of those who get the error in HFM 11.1.2.1, security must be applied to the Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\product\FinancialManagement\Web folder.

Microsoft Office 2004 (Word) unable to save files
I have been running Office 2004 on my Intel iMac with Snow Leopard for some time and all of a sudden I cannot save a document. Word just stopped responding and I have to force quit. I can open Word and create a new document but I cannot save it. I reinstalled Word but that didn’t help. Then went to the Internet and found at least one other Mac user having the same problem which it suggests is caused by a recent Mac Security Update:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2004-macword/word-2004-wil l-not-open-or-save-documents/b04eb870-9b0d-4f3b-bb47-b122301e36f6
So I check for a new Mac Security Update and sure enough there was one. I downloaded it and now Word seems to be working, as it should. I can both open and save files. The only problem remaining is that when I open Word I get the following error message “An unexpected error occurred while trying to load the Microsoft Framework library”. I contacted Apple but they were unable to help.
How can I get rid of this error message?

Look, I realize you might have to get your machine working, so this is how you revert back.
    Restore proceedure to pre-Security Update 2012-001 v 1.0 & v 1.1
#1 Backup your personal data off the machine.
Backup files off the computer (not to TimeMachine). If you don't have a external drive, get one and connect to the USB/Firewire port and simply drag and drop copy your User folder to the external drive, it will copy all your files. It's best to have two backups of your data off the machine when trying to restore.
Disconnect all drives now to prevent any mistakes from occuring.
    #2 Reinstall OS X 10.6 from disk
Get out your 10.6 install disk and make sure it's clean and polished (very soft cloth and a bit of rubbing alcohol, no scratches) If your disk is borked, you'll have to order a new one from Apple with your serial number.
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk (wired keyboard, internal optical drive), use Disk Utility First Aid to >Repair Disk  of your internal drive  (do not format or erase!!), Quit DU and simply re-install 10.6.
Note: Simply reinstalling 10.6 version from disk (without erasing the drive) only replaces 10.6.8 with 10.6.x and bundled Apple programs, won't touch your files (backup anyway)  or most programs, unless they installed a kext file into OS X itself. (only a few on average do this)
    #3 Update to 10.6.8 without Security Update 2012-001 v1.0 or v1.1
Reboot and log in, update to 10.6.8 via Software Update, but EXCLUDE THE Security Update 2012-001 by checkinig the details and unchecking the blue check box.
#4 Reinstall any non-working third party programs
When you reboot, make sure to reinstall any programs that require kext files installed into OS X, you'll know, they won't work when you launch them or hang for some reason as they are missing the part they installed into OS X.
If for some freakish reason you get gray screen at any time when booting (possible it might occur when you reinstall older programs), hold the shift key down while booting (Safe Mode, disables kext files) and update your installed third party software so it's compatible with 10.6.8.
    https://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570
    That's it really.

  • How can I edit /etc/mnttab file of a running Solaris 10 Machine?

    Hi All,
How can I edit /etc/mnttab file of a running Solaris 10 Machine?
    Any ideas, solution, suggestions.
    Regards,
    Rahul.

    Hello Roach,
First, thanks for your quick response.
I am using a Solaris 10 (Sparc ) machine , I want to make sure that no set uid programs get executed in /tmp partition.
Currently I am modifying the value in /etc/vfstab to and adding the value in Mount Options as nosetuid, and restarting the system as a result when the system is rebooted the /etc/mnttab entry is populated accordingly and setuid programs are not executed in /tmp partition.
But I want to avoid the reboot.
I am planning to update the /etc/vfstab as well as /etc/mnttab file directly so that the reboot can be avoided.
I found some function related to /etc/mnttab i.e
    (i)getmntent
    (ii)resetmnttab
I will go into more details about it now
    Regards,
    Rahul.

#"zoneds" does not exist, so I am guessing that is the problem. I'm wondering if it is safe for me to delete them.

Hmmm... I haven't run into this with ZFS.
    For UFS, this should work:
    luumount -f sol10_1008_SAPC20090813
Alternative to that, you could do a force delete of the BE (ludelete -f sol10_1008_SAPC20090813) and remove the ZFS entries manually.
I have also resorted to hand-editing the zone configuration files, but that's not exactly a recommended practice ;-)

Hi Richard, did you ever get this issue resolved?  We are having a similar issue on XI R3 SP4 using NAS/CIFS shares for our File Stores.  We see this issue mainly after our servers are patched and a full environment restart is initiated.  Like you, our event logs fill up with so many error messages I cannot pinpoint exactly when the issue starts happening.

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 RDS: RDS Users are unable to delete files from their desktop

    Hello,
We are working with Windows Server 2012 R2 RDS. We also implemented User Profile Disks. This is all working fine without problems. The only issue I have is that normal users are unable to delete files from their desktop. They are getting a message:
you'll need administrator permission to delete this file, with the prompt for administrator access.
They can edit, copy, rename, cut and paste files. But they cannot delete a file from their desktop.
I checked the security permissions of the files on the desktop (for example a normal self-created PDF file) and the users are owner and have "Full Control" over the files.
I checked the file permissions and took a look under "Advanced", selecting the specific domain user and checked the "Advanced Permissions" and the user has the "Delete" option checked. So he should be able to delete the
    file.
I am guessing this is UPD related issue, or something in GPO. But I already unlinked the GPO objects, that I felt could be the source of this problem, but without results.
Could someone give me a hint on where to look? It's kinda annoying to users, that they can't delete their own files.

    Hello Bria,
What you should check first, is the NTFS permissions on the User Profile Disk to begin with. See if the user has full control over the items that are in the UPD.
Also check the GPO's that are enabled for the user and computer account. You can check that by running: gpresult /h <path>\gpresult.html
There are two GPO settings that could prevent the user from deleting his/her own items:
    User
    Configuration\\Policies\\Administrative Templates\\Windows Components\\Windows Explorer\
Hide these specified drives in My Computer
Prevent access to specified drives in My
    Computer
There might be other GPO settings, that block deleting items on the UPD, but can't think of any out of my head.
I can only think NTFS and GPO settings that might prevent the user from deleting items. In my case it was a GPO setting, that I didn't suspect.

  • Unable to download file from FileDownload UI Element - Java Web Dynpro

    Hello Experts,
    I am facing a strange issue.Scenario is:
I created an java web Dynpro application (Please note that it is just a standalone WD app, not integrated in portal) with just one FileUpload UI Element ,one FileDownload UI element and one button (for triggering an action).
I browse a file (e.g. text, pdf, doc etc.) and click on button. It uploads the file and when I click on download, there are two cases:
         1) Simply click on download does not downloads the file and shows error: "Unable to download <file name> from <server name>.  Unable to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later." Though it is opening the file, showing the content.
         2) I opened that portal URL in a new tab in same session and logged in with a portal user. Now if I click on download link of same WD app opened in different tab of same session, it downloads the file without any error.
    I am using portal 7.0
Can somebody point what's going wrong with case 1?
    Helpful pointers will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kirtiman

    Hi Sid,
I did not gave any authentication of WD app as it is anonymous app. There is no parameter set in application properties.
As I run the app, it is showing the initial screen with UI elemtns and till upload works fine,.It has to be an anonymous app, so cannot ask for credential from user.
    Thanks

  • Error 'Unable to open file' when downloading SAP Query to Excel

    Hi all
I'm running a SAP Query which is set to download straight to a spreadsheet (Pivot Table / Microsoft Excel).  Intermittently it does not work -  apparently at random (at least, I've can't recreate the error at will).
It does one of the following:
    - Works ok, and creates the pivot table
    - Gives an Excel error message 'Unable to open file', then returns to the 'save the data in a spreadsheet' popup when enter is pressed on the error.
    - Does not issue error message, just goes to the 'save the data in a spreadsheet' popup.
In the last two cases, the excel pivot table sheet is not created.
Has anyone seen anything similar, or have any idea as to what is causing the problem?
    Any help gratefully received!
Not urgent as I've found a way round -  further testing seems to show that I don't get the error is Excel is already open - but in the past I've run many SAP query downloads without needing to open Excel first.  I suppose it's possible that this is just something to do with the Excel setup at the user site

  • Unable To Open File.......... The system cannot find the file specified

    hi all.
    First time poster.
i have a windows VM running on my macbook...
have had no troubles for the last 2 months using hourly...
have just restarted the mac, and have come up with the unable to open file error...
i'm confused (extremely new to mac)
is there anything i need / can do to fix? (had a heap of stuff i needed on the windows VM)
    thanks

    Welcome to the Community,
I can't tell you what was causing this, but according to the support bundle you provided, three of the required .vmdk files are missing (Virtual Disk-s001.vmdk, Virtual Disk-s002.vmdk, and Virtual Disk-s003.vmdk). These files however still existed when you used the VM at "2015-05-23T12:29:04.017+10:00" (see vmware.log).
Since the VM is running on a snapshot and the base .vmdk files have a time stamp of April, 14th, you should be able to recover these three files from a recent backup (assuming you are regularly backing up your system). You may also want to check whether there's a lost+found folder on your system which contains the files!?

Can somebody help me.. If any configuration related help, path setting ??

I have had issues with reports failing to run. My solution was to change settings on the Report App server. I changed the engine parameters to:
    initial engines=2
    maximum engines=5
    minimum engines =2
    maximum job before shutdown (englife)=1
    maximum idle before shutdown=30
    JVM Option= -Xms512m -Xmx512m
When in the report App server, you should see a page with settings similar to above. Make sure you try these settings in the test environment first (you can change them around then to see what works best).

    In short:
    ============
My permissions were all fine, so if anyone has trouble resolving the issue after sorting permissions then make sure you try fully disabling your anti-virus / anti-spyware / firewall applications, because that was the cause for me.
    In detail:
    ============
    Problem:
    Failed to install this application
    - http://www.ssware.com/cryptoobfuscator/download.htm
    - on Windows 8.1 x64
    - Get error message "Unable To Execute Files In The Temporary Directory. Setup Aborted. Error 5: Access Is Denied."
    First Candidate Solution
The issue turns out to NOT be security rights on the Temp folder
ESET Smart Security HIPS Advanced Memory Scanner is the cause

Instead, I went and turned off all the ESS protections one by one and it turned out to be HIPS that is causing this false positive.
In fact, it is the Advanced Memory Scanner option under HIPS that is causing the error, while the application in question is legit (using Inno Setup and presumably trying to write to the user temp folder, not sure whether just logs or to execute from there)
Furthermore, Smart Security logs have no entries under HIPS even though I ticked "Log all blocked operations" under the HIPS "Advanced setup" - it was quite a journey to find out the cause :)
Thank you. I have the same OS and installed ESET Smart Security as well. And it is resolved now.
I just want to add, that by "Temporarily disable protection" and "Temporarily disable firewall", it doesn't work. You have to disable HIPS, as KristjanL said.

  • "Unable to read file" error in Excel 2010 when downloading .xls file from IE11

We have lots of reports that have links for our users to be able to download report results in Excel format. We accomplish this by using the Excel mime type in our .asp pages. Sporadically, we are seeing "Unable to read file" errors in Excel 2010
after choosing Open from the IE11 save dialog. Choosing Save/Save As and the file will open just fine.
Also, we can sometimes cause the error to occur more frequently by switching windows during the time when the file is downloading.
If the file is opened directly from /Temporary Internet Files then it opens just fine.
    Window 7 64-bit
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
I found you replied in a similar thread, did you try the workaround (Reset the IE) that provided there? Did you change a browser to test?
Then, I suggest we use Process Monitor to do further troubleshooting. Please collect all the actions of IE.exe and Excel.exe, and check the if there are some
error message/code during you open XLS file from IE 11.
    Hope it's helpful.
