Unable to use external compiler support in CVI 2009 with VC++ 2005

The compiler gives me this error message:
cvisupp.lib(setprec.obj) : fatal error LNK1103: debugging information corrupt; recompile module
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Well, I do call InitCVIRTE  in my main, but it doesn't find it in cvisupp.lib, it finds _InitCVIRTEEx@12   this way:
00404808      _InitCVIRTE@4                                    initcls.obj
00404818      _InitCVIRTEEx@12                              initcls.obj
004048FC      _CloseCVIRTE@0                                initcls.obj
The identifier  cvisupp.lib is no where in the map of my project.
I do see this library in the NI folders on the PC however.
I think we may be crossed up here in what we're doing - I am building the application from the LabWindows 2009 framework in release mode using the VCPP 2005 compiler as an external compiler ... are you building from Visual Studio or from CVI 2009?

  • How to use CVI 2009 with CVI 2012 installed

    I have TestStand 2012 / CVI 2012 installed.
I need to also test using teststand 4.2.1 / CVI 2009.
I installed teststand 4.2.1 / CVI 2009 and can activate teststand 4.2.1 but I cannot access CVI 2009.
Is there any way to have CVI2009/2012 both available on the same computer?
Is there a way to compile CVI 2012 to work with TestStand 4.2.1?

    Hi HMRJ,
You can have multiple versions of CVI installed on the same computer. Can you explain in detail what you mean when you say that you cannot access CVI 2009? Do you mean that you can't open it or can't activate it?
I am not sure I understand what you mean by compiling CVI 2012 to work with TestStand 4.2.1. You should be able to create a DLL from CVI 2012 and call this code module from TestStand. Are you receiving any errors when you try to do this?

  • IChat using external iSight on iMac 24" 2009

iChat using external iSight on iMac 24" 2009
I'm trying to use an external iSight camera in iChat instead of the built-in one but when connected iChat just gives a beach ball. Searching for similar issues mentions that both cameras should be available in the prefs. I wonder if this is still the case with a current iMac. I'm using a Lacie FW 400 to 800 cable.

Here are some options you can consider, m4rtin
    (1) If your Firewire port doesn't see any Firewire device with any cable, reset your Mac's Firewire using the process in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1317
    (2) When you get your System Profiler showing your FW devices again, if you still have problems and are daisy chaining your external iSight with another FW device, remove the intermediate device(s) and test external iSight again when it is connect directly.
    (3) As explained in this post, your LaCie cable may be the problem:
      http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9496353&#9496353
The simplest way I can suggest to test this is to try a different brand of cable. The search that Ralph suggests will show you that both Belkin and NewEgg have been reported as working to connect external iSight with FW800 Macs.
    (4) Alternatively, you can use your old, known-working FW400 cable if you use a 800 -> 400 adapter
like one of these to connect your new Mac to your existing cables:

  • Unable to use external display native resolution

    Dear all,
Here is the current setup I'm using :
MacbookPro 15", hi res, Mid 2010 with Mac OS 10.6.6, software up-to-date
Apple MiniDisplayPort to VGA Adapter Firmware 1.03
    IIYAMA Prolite E2607WSD, a 26" monitor with native resolution of 1920x1200 @ 60Hz
When connecting the MiniDisplayPort to VGA adapter to the VGA cable, the MBP doesn't enable me to set the external native monitor resolution of 1920x1200 with extended desktop. The maximum available resolution the macbookpro is able to diaply is 1920x1080.
    What I tried :
-using high performance graphics in the energy saver settings
    -using clamshell mode
    -using mirroring mode
    -reset PRAM
    -reset SCM
    -delete com.windowserver.plist
-use SwitchResX.app and DisplayConfigX.app to force the native resolution
To make sure that the monitor was correctly behaving, I tried with a PC with WinXP, and I was able to get max resolution of 1920x1200 without an issue. I also tried with a Macbook 2008 with 10.5.6, and with it's own DisplayPort to VGA adapter (the "normal size" one, not the "mini" one I'm using with the MBP), and it worked as well with the native resolution of 1920x1200.
I 'm coming to the conclusion that either the minidisplayport to vga adapter doesn't accept any resolution higher than 1920x1080 or that the one I bought from Apple is not properly working, or that I should use the minidisplay port to DVI adapter (no HDMI here as an input for the monitor)...
I also browsed the forum and found a lot of similar issues, so I guess it's pretty common, but no workaround seems possible.
Does anybody in the community had the same issue and know how to solve it ?
    Thanks in advance.
    PolCls

    Hello BSteely,
I actually tried to get the EDID information and to replicate them as much as possible but everytime I tried a custom resolution, after reboot, SRX will say " the system didn't accept this setup"... and the proper resolution is not available..

  • My APE11 gets an Unable to use plug-in It's not compatable with this version of Photoshop

My APE 11 will read my Canon 70D raw file since I used the 8.3. In the organiser but as soon as I got to Edit the Raw file it just come up " Unable to use Camera Raw Plug-in" " It is not compatable with this version of Photoshop" No photo in the screen at all just a blank area with the raw sliders. And the box with the wording unable to use etc.

I downloaded it and looked at it.  Even Graphic Converter can't recover any pixels or meaningful data, just some general information:
In my experience, if GraphicConverter can't open it, nothing will.

  • MOVED: msi s270 series unable to use external HDD casing

This topic has been moved to Other MSI products.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=92843.0

The one question many of us are asking ourselves with the new and much vaunted USB3 ports that come in this year's Macs: do they also have the miserable 0.5A current limit of USB2 or not? Back in the day, that seemed an awful lot, but with modern monster drives it really falls short. Imagine trying to drive a 3TB HDD, which is virtually available in any corner store nowadays. And Hitachi promised reaching an 8-10TB record on a single spindle before the year is out.
As for the memory, been enjoying the following for the past three weeks, can't believe how fast the Mac has become. Cost me about the same and from the same place. Only difference is mine IS Mac-certified, although the specs appear to be the same, in speed and CAS timing. Go for it!

  • Unable to load external swf which has runtime sharing with another swf.

    Hi,
I am getting issues on loading external swf say "importer.swf" file into another swf file say "loader.swf" for second time like
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable testSymbol is not defined. VerifyError: Error #1014: Class testClass could not be found.

In the external swf "importer.swf", i am trying to import the symbol "testSymbol" from another swf file say "exporter.swf", which exports through runtime sharing option for the symbols.
I am having some buttons in loader.swf file and on each button click i am loading different swf files into the loader.swf after unloading the previous one.
I am able to load and unload different swf files but unable to load the importer.swf file which is sharing symbols from external swf and that too for the second time i.e., when i click the button twice.
When trying to debug with flash debugger, all the other swf files are being unloaded before loading of another swf but the swf which is sharing symbols/classes with another swf is not getting unloaded.
Output when i am trying to load two files example and importer files into loader.swf file on two different button clicks. On first button click example.swf is loaded. On second button click , example.swf is unloaded and importer.swf is loaded which is successful. On first button click again importer.swf is unloaded and example.swf is loaded. On second button click again, example.swf is unloaded and importer.swf is loaded, here i am getting issues shown above.

  • Using External Equipment that is Firewire equipped with MBA

I have an original MBA. USB port and DV port. But no Firewire.
The webcam on this machine is broken, will cost a lot to fix etc. etc. You know, to fix it I need a new screen, half the cost of the MBA etc. etc., and all very sniffy about it at the Apple Store ! Attitude seems to be, what should I expect of a machine that is 18 months old, and perhaps I should buy a new one and pay them another £1300. Methinks no !
So, for the occasional time that I want to use a webcam I want to resurrect my original eternal iSight. But it has Firewire connection.
So, is it possible to find a connector that will turn Firewire to USB so that I can use my Firewire iSight through the USB port on my MBA ?
Simples ? Probablies not, I am guessing ? Never is with Macs.
    Thanks.

No. The technologies are completely different.
Consider an external USB webcam: http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/
Get one that supports the "UVC" standard, UVC will work without adding any software to your Mac.

  • Using external HD from a WinXP system with MBP - can't reformat external HD

    Hi,
I have an external hard drive that I've been using with my Windows XP desktop computer. Before I got my MBP a month ago, I stored my iTunes library and all my digital photos on the external HD. I'd like to use the same HD for my MBP, but I can't reformat the HD when I connect it for the first time, as all of my music and photos are on it.
Will this be a problem? If so, what, if anything, can be done to ensure that I can use the HD with my MBP while maintaining the integrity of the existing content?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks.

    USC2000
If you have enough space on your MBP, of course, you can simply copy the stuff on to it from the external, then reformat.
Your MBP should be able to read the drive without it needing reformatting regardless. If the drive is formatted as Fat32, then Leopard should be able to both read and write to it. If it is formatted as NTFS gthen it will be able to read, but not write.
One thing to be aware of, though, is that USB 2 drives are much slower than Firewire ones on Macs (and also a little slower than when connected to USB on most PC's) . If this is a USB drive you might want to think about getting yourself a good FW drive instead for use on the new computer.
    Cheers

  • I am unable to use the Live View function when working with JavaScript in Dreamweaver.

I am currently trying to set up my own website with dreamweaver and am very familiar with Java and JavaScript. However, whenever I try to use the Live View function it never lets me. Additionally, I am unable to preview my work in a browser as the option to do so is greyed out.
However, I have noticed that when using html in a project, all these functions are available. Any ideas how I can be able to use these functions?

Is it possible you meant to say you were "very unfamiliar with Java and javascript" in your initial post?
Javascript doesn't do anything without an html page to affect.
Java and javascript are not the same thing, they're really not even related other than browsers can be made to render both. Java is its own programming language while javascript is basically html's helper monkey. I don't think it's even feasible to "understand javascript" without knowing html. My last post still stands, if you are coding javascript, you need an html based page to turn it into anything but plain code to a browser, so the option to view it will never come up. When you preview the page it's attached to, it will function correctly (as long as it has been attached to the page correctly).
Java on the other hand can create programs that run without a browser at all and I've never gotten close to touching that monster.
You may need to explain what you're trying to do and post the code here to get the help you need.

Ever since I received my phone before Christmas I've been trying to use the Check In option in FB to check in when I go places. It doesn't seem to work and I have a few friends that has the same phone and they tell me the same thing. Has anyone been successful in using this option?

In order to use the Facebook Check In feature you must have your GPS turned on. You can turn on GPS by dragging the screen down and selecting the GPS icon.
You can also turn on GPS by selecting Menu, Settings and Location & settings.
    Hope this helps!

  • I am unable to use the disk drive on my G4 with my new MacMini (late 2011)

I have followed the directions RE: enabling sharing on both computers and the G4 shows up on the Mini, but the disk in the drive doesn't show up. I am trying to install some newly purchased software (Adobe Photoshop Elements 10) from the G4 drive to the Mini.

Just for clarity ... are you trying to run some software from the G4 drive on the new mini? That won't work, since Lion no longer has Rosetta emulation, and doesn't run PowerPC code. Adobe Photoshop elements 10 will only run on your new mini.
One way to share your G4 hard drive with your new mini is by putting the G4 into target disk mode. Reboot holding the T key down, and you'll see a firewire symbol moving about the screen. Then connect a firewire cable between the two systems. You may need a firewire 400 to 800 adapter. The one I used when coverting my G4 mini is http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JH3TW8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVP DKIKX0DER

  • Example of using VS2005 as the external compiler

I have seen that CVI 8.1 has "External Compiler Support" and even several questions indicating that users have done this. But I find that the instructions on how to do this are vague. There is nothing quite like a real life example.
I've already seen that in the Options --> Build Option dialog, I need to select compatibility with Visual C/C++ and the compiler for the release configuration is vc2005. But then there is a list of compiler defines. I understand that there are typically many others than just /DWIN32_LEAN_AND_MEAN. What are they? How do I know? Do I need WINVER? Am I going to need to include some specific headers?
In the Build --> "External Compiler Support" the UIR Callbacks has several options, but no explanation of what this is about. The Help page is clearly written under the assumption that the user has done this before and the Help page is just some brief reminders. If I select None, does that mean no UIR? If I select Source, do I have to supply it? Same with Object. Some of the documentation seems to indicate that using LoadExternalModule isn't really an option. So why is there a checkbox? If I check it, what do I need for the Other Symbols?
How do I build the Debug version with the external compiler?
How do I force the linker to produce a .PDB file (which is really the whole point of this exercise)? Even in the release version?
I do I suppress boring error messages? Using #pragma?
Sorry to be so long winded, but there's nothing quite like a working example. Something as simple as a textbox with "Hello, World!" and a button would be very helpful.
    Thanks for your help!

Can you please explain a little bit more on what you mean by forcing the linker to produce a .PDB file?
I am making CVI programs that use a DLL produced by Visual Studio 2005. In that DLL, I can often detect terrible situations and as part of the error reporting, I produce a minidump (.dmp) to be used with WinDbg or other debugger. Mostly to get a usable stacktrace and check variable values.
However, the resulting .dmp file is unusable as there is no program database (.PDB) for the CVI application. I figured I would use VS2005 as the external compiler and remove the "/c" flag so that Visual Studio would perform the link. And I would pass other flags to force a .PDB file to be generated.
It turns out that this is extremely awkward. Apparently the call to the compiler is in a temp file with a temporary filename as the .c to compile.
I wish I could get access to the code that does this, but I know how likely that is.
