Unable to zoom

So I never played with the trackpad options yet I was able to pinch with 2 fingers and zoom text on webpages (when it's too small) but now I'm unable to pinch and zoom text size. What happened?

System Preferences>Trackpad. Check the box Pinch Open and Close.
Hello Sig,
I have "Pinch Open and Close" box checked in the Trackpad option menu. The problem is I CAN pinch and zoom with two fingers (text/web pages/news articles) while using Safari but am UNABLE to do so while using Firefox 4. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Did you enable scroll wheel zooming in the PSE preferences?

    I am unable to zoom in or zoom out unless in full screen mode. I have tried using my scroll mouse and also using CTRL - or +. This is only in Firefox. it works in IE.

    Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4 and later.
    You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.
    browser.gesture.pinch.in -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReduce</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.in.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.out -> <b>cmd_fullZoomEnlarge</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.out.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.latched -> <b>false</b>
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />

All worked well during the trial but now I have subscribed to the plan and downloaded the latest LR version I am unable to zoom into the images and just get a constant 'loading' box and spinning circle. Also, the whole system is very slow - very frustrating! Any ideas? I am running it on Windows 8.

  • Unable to zoom in or out...

    Unable to use trackpad for zoom in or out with pinch gestures. Only happens with Firefox. I am not a programmer but can do very basic fixes only! Thanks for any advice. Shall be using other browser till it is fixed - I have just recently tried Firefox and like it apart from this.

  • IPhoto 6 Unable to Zoom in Full Screen Mode when using projector

    When in full screen mode in iPhoto 6 I am able to zoom quite nicely but when I attach a projector I lose the slide for zooming. How do I zoom in full screen mode when using a projector?

    Given that the zoom works normally, this is not an iPhoto issue. The problem lies in the interaction between your MacBook and the Projector. You might have more luck posting on the MacBook forum

  • When reading print on various websites, I am unable to zoom in and have print wrap so that the entire article, etc. remains in view, on screen.

    Often I read the articles on line; I would like to have the font size not only zoom in, but also automatically wrap so that the entire width of each line of the articles remains within the horizontal viewing area of the screen.

    Firefox has two kinds of zoom: full page or proportional zoom, and text-only zoom. The full page zoom can expand the layout beyond the screen, so that might be the problem. You could switch to text-only zoom and see whether that works better. Most sites do have some layout breakage with text-only zoom, however.
    Alt+v (opens the classic View menu) > Zoom > Zoom Text Only
    If that doesn't help, perhaps look around for an add-on that fixes the layout?

  • Unable to zoom in for videos and pictures

    Hi
    I have a blackberry curve 9300 and I used to be able to zoom in for pixtures and videos by justing moving the trackpad but when I do move the trackpad I can't zoom! Does anyone know what the problem could be?
    Thanks so much
    Solved!

    I had this problem on my phone.  The Orange support people got me to take the battery out while the phone was still switched on and then replace it.  Once the phone booted up again then the zoom worked once more.

  • Upgraded to Lion, Mac, but with firefox browser, unable to zoom out/in with pinch gesture

    installed Lion 10.7 for Mac. I have a MacBook Pro, 2.53 GHz intel core 2 duo, the pinch gesture for zoom in/out doesn't work on the firefox 5.01. For the Safari, the gesture DOES work.

    .... is there a way to downgrade back to lion 10.7.3 since that' worked fine.
    The only way would be to revert to 10.7.3 by using Time Machine or by cloning from a previous 10.7.3 clone.
    Hence, the importance of always having a backup, even more important with a slow Internet connection.

  • Why is a video displayed in FF zoomed in and I am unable to zoom it out?

    When I play a tutorial video produced by NovaMind (http://www.novamind.com/tutorials/novamind5/mac/#sgVideo2), the visual field is zoomed in, showing only a small portion of the complete image. This doesn't occur with Safari. I have checked the zoom controls and preferences and can't find a resolution. I don't know what media player is being accessed when I try to play the video. The players I have installed are (1) MovieNetworks Quantum Media Player npmnqnp 07103007, (2) QuickTime Plug-in 7.6.6, (3) RealPlayer Plugin.plugin 0.0.1d1, and (4) Shockwave Flash 11.0.1.98. Perhaps the problem is that FF is trying to play the video file with the wrong player. If that's true, how would I determine which player is being accessed and how would I try playing the video with a different player? Thanks!

    Thanks for your replies. Yes, I did press the reset button. For now I'm letting this issue go, because I've decided not to use Firefox until Mozilla resolves its problems in running with Lion. I am not that committed to Firefox and so continuing to try to work out this and other problems with the software just isn't worth it. But thanks again for posting to help me resolve this. Cheers.

  • Unable to Zoom out when in "Help Topic"

    I'm using MacBook Pro 10.6.2.
    I am able to zoom in by pressing Command plus "=" but once I zoom in I can not zoom out. This seems to only happen when I'm using "Help". I tried pressing Command "-" but doesn't work. I can not use the two fingers to zoom in nor out.
    I do not have any problems in Safari.
    This seems to only happen using the "Help Topic". Weird thing is, after waiting a few minutes, I would press Command "=" and the page would reset to actual size. I can zoom in to max and it would stop. Then wait a few minutes and reopen "Help Topic" and if I'm lucky the zoom in would reset to screen to actual size.
    I believe this may a bug. Is there any fix?

    It doesn't happen here, so either I'm not understanding correctly what you're doing (I'm assuming that this is in Safari, from your Safari comment, and that 'using the "Help Topic"' means that you have the Safari help window open) or it's a problem unique to your machine.

  • The images and words are magnified and I am unable to use the phone.  I cannot zoom out either.  Please advise.  Thanks.

    On my iphone 4S, the images are all magnified and I am unable to zoom the images out and use the phone.  Any suggestion to prevent this from happening and correcting this?

    Double tap on the screen using three fingers to get back to normal.
    Turn on/off accessibility features using iPhone: Go to Settings > General > Accessibility.
    Zoom in or out
    Double-tap the screen with three fingers. By default, the screen is magnified 200 percent. If you manually change the magnification (by using the tap-and-drag gesture, described below), iPhone automatically returns to that magnification when you zoom in by double-tapping with three fingers.

  • How do I delete time machine backups if I can't zoom back in time?

    Hi,
    I'v been backing up my 250GB HD using time machine very successfully over the years. I store additional home movies that aren't on my HD on my time capsule machine in a seperate folder from the backups that are made daily. My 250GB HD is now full and it has been duplicated and placed on a much larger 1TB HD drive back inside my iMac. Because it is a new HD, time machine is wanting to do a new 250GB backup of it (which is ok), BUT there is not enough space on my time machine drive to do a 250GB backup. I need to delete the prior time machine backups to make space. However, because the HD is new, I'm unable to zoom back in time with time machine and delete backups from the time capsule. When I open time capsule in finder I see a .sparsebundle folder which I assume must contain all my old HD time machine backups. To free up time capsule space, can I simply delete the .spersebundle folder? I'm nervous to do that and don't want to mess anything up, so I'm asking for advise. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thx.

    That's a problem, as you now see.  When you get this sorted out, see #Q3 in Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule for an explanation and some workarounds.
    because the HD is new, I'm unable to zoom back in time with time machine and delete backups from the time capsule.
    You can see and delete individual backups from an old drive, per #E3 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.  Deleting a lot of them will take a very long time, of course.

    Yup, that's an option, too but will also take quite a while.  See #Q5 in Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule for details.
    Whatever you do, by all means, connect via Ethernet cable if at all possible.  It will still be slow, but be 2-3 times faster than a good wireless connection.
