UNAVAILABLE ITEMS- ORDER PROCESS MESSED UP

Let the customer know that the item is unavailable when it is put in the cart for purchase. I order a lot of stuff on the internet and this always happens on other sites. I just ordered three of one of your daily specials, reentered my expired credit card, entered my gift certificate numbers and codes, verfied shipping instructuctions, clicked to purchase and only then got a  SORRY UNAVAILABLE DUE TO HEAVY DEMAND as the absolute last step. WHAT A DOWNER AND WASTE OF TIME. ONLY item I wanted today, so I had completely wasted my time. This is incredibly inconvenient, I understand that there may be limited quantities, but let me know when I try to purchase it - not at the end of the process. Seems like a no brainer to keep a running inventory against the orders.

I think Allan has touched on that.  I think a key of what you wrote answers the issue.

The Daily Specials are limited quantities most of the time and Best Buy sends out thousands of emails every day showing the daily specials.  
There have been times when I was trying to get a pre-black Friday special from my elite status and I have put things in the cart but by the time I got to checkout they were sold out.

    Mi client is asking me if it is posible, once created a Process Order, upon modifying the order (COR2), that the user can not change any of the cuantities and batches of the material list (BOM) updated in the Process Order.
    Is there any way one can protect the material list from being modified once created, or once liberated the order?
    Is it posible, moreover to just protect the BOM ítems updated in the Process order but let the option open to add exta BOM ítems manually.
    Is there a userexit or a Badi one can use to acomplish this?

    Yes, you can use BADI to protect the BOM items from not to change the BOM items in Process order.
    In one of our project we have taken the help from the ABAPer, has has done the same thing.
    Then we have acheived the same requirement.
    You check with the ABAPer, he will help you for the requirement.

    is there any settings to copy document items to process order?
    I have added item categary D in master recipe (BOM of material) of material.
    But when i create process order for that material, documents items is not getting copied.
    is any setting is there to copy it?

    If my understanding is correct,then I think document items does not gets copied into process order and further to this there is
    no key's to view the document as like that is available in a production order.
    If you check at the header - general data in a process order only operation/component overview keys will be available,where
    as in a production order in addition to these keys,you can check for document overview and sequence overview key's
    available.
    I'm unable to get any link in SAP help related to the same.Correct me if my understanding is wrong.

    In the Third Party processing,
    You refer the Sales order for creating the Billing document to the end customer
    In the Item category level of the Third party, one field which control the Billing relevance
    If you check the BILLING RELEVANCE for TAS item category, it is F which says, the billing will be based on the MIRO ( vendor invoice)
    In general for Third Party, Vendor will directly send material/Goods to the customer and that notification will be sent to the company.
    If say, out of 10 PO items, Vendor has send only 5 quantity to the customer and we have to bill the customer for only 5 quantities so once the billing is generated it will refer to the invoice quantity of the MIRO

    When you enter vendor invoice then you come to know that vendor sent qty. same will be billed to customer(Billing relevance in item category should be F)

    If you see the document flow of the particular sales document, you can see the status.
    If you want to know where the control is, go to VTLA, for the combination of your order type and delivery type, select your item category and execute.  There you can see a field Update document flow.  You have to check this box for status updation.

  • Repair Order Process - o/b delivery from PO, need copy routine

    Hi Experts,
    We are configuring repair order process and while creating o/b delivery to Vendor from PO, need to check for GTS message and should be blocked that document for further processing in ECC. For SO to o/b delivery working fine using include program RV50B901 (routine 901, document type OR to LF, item category TAN). It is copy of 101 routine and added GTS code to block the documents in ECC if GTS is blocked for compliance checks.
    For o/b delivery from PO, document type NB with item category L (subcontracting but in copy control, I don't see LB to NB rather LB to DL. Is it correct? I put a break point in routine 901 but it is not hitting that routine. Where can I look at to find correct routine to include GTS code?

  • Free of charge Order Process/ Release Delivery block

    i am new to Workflow.
    i have a issue to be done in wrokflow.
    The work flow has to be incorporated with Free of Charge order process.  The work flow process will allow a delivery block / credit block to be released only based on  authorized user.

    As I am still not clear with ur requirement, so provide these details...
    1)  When should ur workflow trigger..?
    2) Do u want the credit/delivery block to be released by a particular person??
    For (1), U should look for an appropiate Business Object related to ur scenario, which u can find in SWO2 (BOR) and thus by using a particular event of ur BO, u can trigger ur WF.
    For (2), U should assign that particular user as the Agent for the step so that  he only receives the work-item in his Inbox and thus process it.

  • Third party order process- tolerances

    our client is facing a problem.
    Normally a SO will be issued and then the PO is created with ref. to
    SO (and with same quantity). GR and IR-L will be booked, then SO will appear
    in billing due list  and customer
    invoice will be created.
    But now If PO quantity and GR quantity are not identical, SO is not appearing in billing due
    list. do we set up any tolerances for these in custozmizing.
    what would be the probable reason for this
    can any one please throw some light on this.

    Hi GP,
    Check the billing relevant of Item category used in Sales order item  . This should tell you what is happeneing in your scenario.
    If PO qty and GR qty missmatch occurs , MM config has to be checked to see if any tolerance has been set.
    If SO is not appearing for billing , then you need to check is SO dependent on your GR or IV for billing.
    Assuming it as TAS item category and BANS item category group and third party ordering process.
    Billing Relevance:
    F     Order-related billing doc. - status according to invoice qty  ( Bill after IV done with IV qty)
    G     Order-related billing of the delivery quantity       ( Bill after GR with GR Qty)

  • Third Party Order processing in case of multiple vendors

    Hi,
    With the third party order processing; purchase requisition gets created automatically based on the scheduling item category. This process works fine when there is only one vendor. In case if we have multiple vendors for the same product; purchase requisition gets created with out any vendor reference. These orders needs manual intervention to assign the source of supply.
    In stead of this; we would like to automate the process of the selecting the vendor automatically? Is there any by means? Currently we do populate the corresponding vendor partner function in the sales order item level. Can this be used as reference vendor during purchase requisition creation process? Is there any configuration or customitization?
    Have any one come across this?

  • Third Party order processing- PR creation

    In Third Party Order processing , system creates single Purchase requisition for the all line items in the Sales order. Our requirement is to create individual PR for each line item in the sales order. For Example , if the sales order is having two lines items (10 and 20) with item category TAS, system should create two purchase requisition against line 10 and 20. Is there any customization available to control this ? if not how can we achieve this functionality.

    1. First you need to maintain ZTA1 and ZTA2 two item categories.( Replica of TAS)
    2. Proceed with Item category determination for ZTA1 and Keep ZTA2 as Manual Item Category both the item category should have same details.
    3. Proceed Creating Schedule line categories ZTA1 + MRP type = C1 (Replica of CS - LEG)
        Similarly create another ZTA2 + MRP type = C2 (Replica of CS - LEG)
    Now when you raise a third party order enter the material ( 2 line items) and price and press enter. The first line item will have ZTA1 and second line item also will have ZTA1 change it manually to ZTA2.
    save the document.
    Try this i hope it should work
    Note: But like one of our friend likely pointed out what if it were to be more than 2 items.... just check it out. Does it sound perfect....

    1. Create Vendor XK01
    2. Create Material – Material Type as "Trading Goods". Item category group as "BANS".
    3. Assign Item Category TAS to Order type that you are going to use.
    4. A sale order is created and when saved a PR is generated at the background
    5. With reference to SO a PO is created (ME21N). The company raises PO to the vendor.
    6. Vendor delivers the goods and raises bill to company. MM receives the invoice MIRO
    7. Goods receipt MIGO
    8. Goods issue
    9. The item cat TAS or Schedule line cat CS is not relevant for delivery which is evident from the config and,   therefore, there is no delivery process attached in the whole process of Third party sales.

    My customer is bright bar manufacturer,They just buy the steel bar & process it & sell it to the customer.So there is only one RAW MATERIAL.
    Their all the activities are mainly based on raw material.So customer wants.....when we enter the finished good system should check the RM stock,based on RM STOCK,sytem should do the availability check...& confirm the delivery date
    I have mapped customer requirement,after modifying item category & assignment......
    Sales BOM explosion & delivery group is maintained for header material.availability check is on at component level & header level.So now system consider the raw material stock & it conform the dates when  i do availability check combinely.
    I would like to know how it will affet the MRP incase of alternative BOM....FURTHER PROCESSING
    Is it the right practise.....Please reply...............

  • SAP R/3 to External System RFC issue during Sales Order Processing

    Hi Experts,
    We have one Peculiar issue in our SAP R/3. Request you to help me in resolving this.
    Order Processing:
    During Sales Orders Processing, for every line item a RFC is being initiated from SAP R/3 to an external system called Trilogy Pricer to get the Pricing data. 
    Trilogy Pricer sends the Pricing data to SAP R/3 and the respective Orders are being processed in SAP R/3.
    Current Issue:
    The issue we are facing is that, once the Pricing data is sent to SAP R/3, Trilogy Pricer expects an acknowledgement (RFC_OK) from SAP R/3 in order to release the RFC connection.  Intermittently, Trilogy Pricer is not receiving this or any kind of acknowledgement from SAP R/3 causing the connection to hang which is causing several problems.
    For example:
    On every business day, there will be 50,000 Sales orders.
    So, 5 or 10 sales orders are getting hanged every day.
    We tried to simulate this issue in Dev and Stage environments by processing 30,000 to 40,000 sales orders.
    But we were unsuccessful, which means all the RFC connections were being closed as the external system is able to get the acknowledgements for all those orders from SAP R/3.
    We are having this problem only in Prod.
    Any thoughts to solve this issue is highly appreciated.

  • Bottom/base price check in Sales order processing

    In my company we are using process Sales Order > DO > Billing. Same pricing procedure for sales document types and billing types. No pricing procedure for DO. Our management wants to implement bottom price check in sales order processing e.g there must be one sale price on which sale invoice will be booked and there must also be one static price maintained and system will check after all taxes and discounts calculation that net value should not be less then bottom price.
    Currently we are using user exit in enhancement MV45AFZZ. Our ABAPER has written logic in this of following scenario. We have maintained commercial price in ZCOM condition type and bottom price in ZBAS condition type. Lets take and example
    ZCOM = Sale price= 500
    ZDIS = Discount = 100
    Net value/Amount for credit check 500-100 = 400
    ZBAS Bottom price = 450
    In above scenario system should not allow to save sale order/billing document and give error "Sale price is below bottom price" Then user will change the discount from 100 to 50 and Net value will be then 450 and system will allow to save sale order/billing document.
    I want to to do this in Pricing procedure pricing routines. Please tell me is it possible with calculation types? Im wondering if we can do this in enhancement then we must write the same logic in VOFM pricing routine and we can control this from there too. In our current ABAP check everything is working fine but I just want to minimize the use of ABAP checks and enhancements and control the things from functional side not from ABAP.
    Please let me know if someone need more clarification or someone have any productive suggestions in this regard. If there is any other solution it will be highly appreciated.

    Similar functionality is already there, where if the net price of an item differs from "Customer expected price" (conditions EDI1/EDI2) then SAP automatically pushes the order into incompletion. You can ask the developer to see how EDI1 is used in the pricing logic.
    However, the condition EDI1 is used to check if the item value is different to Customer expected price in case of EDI orders and is not standard for your requirement. But you get my drift, that you can have your own condition in the pricing procedure that will fetch the base price value and can be used in the logic to show an error message (to stop order processing) or push into incompletion log similar to condition EDI1
