Undeploying EARs from Netweaver 7.1 SP5

Hi there,
We are running into troubles here because we need to deploy an ear that was already deployed in the application server. Is there a (simple) was to completely undeploy an EAR in Netweaver 7.1 SP5.
I come from a Glassfish/Jboss world where undeploying an app requires one click or simply deleting the ear from the auto-deploy folder and I'm sure such a feature exists in Netweaver 7.1 SP5.
I checked the thread how do you deploy and undeploy a J2EE application to web App server but that does not really help since it talks about an older version of NW.
Thanks a whole lot for your kind help,
Dom

Hi Marcel,
Thanks for your reply however, this folder does not seem to exist anymore in Netweaver 7.1.
I found a way to undeploy my applications using the admin console:
1) Log onto the physical machine holding the AS.
2) Navigate to: C:\usr\sap\SP5\J00\j2ee\console (or replace C: by anywhere you installed you stuff).
3) Double click on the guiconsole.bat
5) Now login with the credentials that you use for accessing the AS (e.g. Administrator, s... in the case of KA).
6) With "man" you get a summary of all functionalities.
7) Using LIST_APP you can list the apps deployed on the server.
8) Use UNDEPLOY name=FULL_APP_NAME (e.g. SII_application_service_catalog).
9) Wait a while and check using LIST_APP again to see whether it was undeployed.
Hope that helps the next ones,
Dom

Both the oracle as well as the jdev/lib/oc4j_remote_deploy.jar are of the version 10.1.2.

    I think you need:
    <arg value="-undeploy"/>
    (notice the -)
    Have you had any luck?

  • Help!! Undeployed async.ear from by mistake

    Hi everybody,
I have installed 9iAS 9.0.2.0.1 and applied patch 9.0.2.6.0. I mistakenly undeloyed the async.ear from OC4J_Wireless. Can anybody send me the fiel to my email [email protected] Or advise How can I get it back? Thank you for your cooperation.
    Abdullah

    Abdullah,
    You have the following options:
    - File an iTAR on metalink. Oracle Support should be able to help you with this.
    - In wireless/j2ee/applications in your installation, there is the async.ear file. This file is also in the j2ee/OC4J_Wireless/applications directory. I presume you know how to re-deploy .ear files. Just make sure that your patches are being applied properly after re-deployment.

  • Can't undeploy EAR via both SDM and VA

    Hi All,
I can't undeploy EAR via both SDM and VA. SDM starts undeploying and then hangs up. When I try to redeploy (update) I can't reach the final deploy page too. The same is when execute "Remove" action within VA in Deploy service - it reaches 99% and then hangs up. Netweaver trial 7.0 SP12.
How can I manually undeploy EAR?
    Regards,
    Alex

    Hello Mike,
Thank you for delay response and sorry for our delay answer. In SDM log there is nothing. In defaultTrace the next records appears after near 20 minutes wait (mentioned RunRulesQueue is JMS queue for MDB):

  • Migration from EP 5.0 SP5 to EP 5.0 SP6

    Hello
We have upgraded our Enterprise Portal from Sap 5.0 sp5 to sp6.
After losing our layout style(we have to re-customize that) we have also loose the definition of the icons.
In channel Km Admin but also in Java Iview (class com.sapportals.km.navigation) we can see and reach the folders and the documents but the iview do not upload the images of documents, folders, pdf files, shortcuts, etc. It is showed a white box image (like the red cross error image loading).
    What can we do?

    see if this works:
    Please try the following first:
Adjust the settings of the etc-Repository manually using the
configuration UI (System Administration -> System
Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management).
The parameter 'localroot' has to be replaced by the path to
the filesystem directory serving as root for the etc
    repository. Usually, this is
    <drive>:/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/config/cm/etc where <drive>
and <SID> have to replaced by values fitting your environment

    Hi All,
After following the SAP note 757692 to change the hostname for J2EE Engine 6.40, we are getting error message " Error: There is no control instance running in the cluster" in the SDM log when trying to deploy an app from netweaver studio. We have change the setting in netweaver studior to point to the new server etc ...
    1. We noticed that in the SDM log, it seem to still looking at the old hostname (clttst1) instead of the new host name (apple)
    2. We have to change the hostname because of the cluster environment.
    3. I checked the trace file dev_ms and found the following messge "  MsHttpInit: full qualified hostname = clttst1.rta.nsw.gov.au" , i.e. still pointing back to the old hostname.
I have made all the neccessary changes base on the SAP note 757692, i.e. message server name etc ...
Any advices / help are greatly appreciated.

  • BAPI Function module : Unable to search from Netweaver Studio

    Hallo,
I developed a small BAPI Function module GetCarList etc using the tutorial <a href="http://www.sappoint.com/abap/bapiintro.pdf">Introduction to BAPIs</a> . This ofcourse is also available in help.sap.com for GetFlightList etc.
    Steps Followed :
-o developed RFC based Function Module. (BAPI supported)
    -o activated it, released it.
-o created a alias in the BAPI explorer, added API methods, parameters and released all of them
After i activated and released the function module, i could see it in the BAPI Explorer (Transaction SWO1) as released( ready to be used). But when i tried to search it from Netweaver Studio (to import it as a WebDynpro Model) i could not find it.
-o checked if the BAPI method is available or not in the BAPI Explorer list. (it is available and released)
-o Tried to import BAPI Func.Module - like 'GetFlightList' of Table SFLIGHT (comes with SAP examples), [ but could not] .
I have no idea what the problem could be. do let me know.
    thanks
    Sreenivas.

    Hi all,
i did check the SE37 or SE80 transaction to find out whether the current module is Remote call enabled or not. Adn well it was already RFC set. I have no idea what had happened in the last week, today it works. Now i can import the function module into netweaver. anyways thanks Achim for the support.
    Sreenivas.
