Under/over payments

Hi
I have an issue with under and over payments and writing off dased on a reason code and gl account.,  I have configured a reason code and defined the relevant gl's,  however when I try and post a payment,  it will only allow me to put the differance as a residual item.  Does anyone know what I have missed.  This difference is within the relevant tolerance's setup for the customer and the tolerance group is assigned to the customer.    I am also assigned as a user to the employee tolerance group.  I have seen other posts regarding this but cannot see a resolution.
thanks

yes it is defined as P&L account.it is posting now to gl account for over payment only. when i do an underpayment like $99 and invocie amount is $100, it gives message "difference is too large for clearing". I have configured tolerances, still it throws this message for Under Payments only. Is there any separate place where we configure the under payments for customers. we have only one gl account to whcih we want to post both over payments and under payments

    Hi Experts,
What are the configuration settings and entries for making under/over payment of vendor/customer   Please give example.
    Thanks and Regards

If the difference is immaterial, you usually clear the receivable and post the difference. You can define how payment differences should be posted. You have the following options:
    · If the payment differences are within the tolerance limits, the system automatically adjusts the cash discount or posts the difference to a separate gain or loss account. You have defined the amount to which differences should be posted in this way. Specify tolerance amounts and percentage limits.
    · If the payment difference exceeds the tolerance limits, you can process the payment as a partial payment or enter a residual item for the difference. When you enter a partial payment, the system does not clear the original receivable, but posts the payment with an invoice reference. When you create a residual item, the system clears the original receivable and posts the outstanding difference as residual item to the customer account.

  • System did not post Under/Over payment entries

    Hi,
I have setup for the Over/Under payment Amount allowed in Document Settings --> Incoming Payment / Outgoing Payment and I have also setup for the Overpayment and Underpayment GL Accounts to be posted in the GL Determination Sales / Purchasing tab.
When I run testing, for example I have an Sales Invoice for 350.08 and my payment amount is 350.00 (I've set the allowed underpayment amount to 0.10), I did not see the journal posted for the Underpayment, though the system prompted a message indicating the amount does not match upon posting. I might have done the payment incorrectly. Can anyone advice me what is the correct way of making the payment so the journal will post the 0.08 as underpayment?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ching Sean

    Hi Suda,
Sorry for the late respond. What I have done is:
    Highlight the Invoice - 350.08
    Go to the Payment Means
Manually type the Actual amount Paid - 350.00
    Click Ok
    Click Add
I have just run the testing again and now it works! I do not know what happened last week that causes the system to not allowing the posting. Anyway, since now that it is working, I will do a few tests more, just in case.
Thank you so much for your help.

  • Over payments/Under payments for customers

COnfigured the foll for over payments/underpayments for customer:
    OBA3 - Maintained toerlances
OBBE - Configured reason code -check marked "charge off difference via separate GL account
OBXL- Assigned reason code to GL account XXXXXX
Ran F-28, still the over payment does not post to the GL account XXXXXX. All it does is it credits the customer for the overpayment amount in new line item.
what am I missing here. we want the over payments and under payments to go this GL account XXXXXX, not to customer account.
The gl account created also has been "Post automaticallyonly" check marked.

  • Subcontracting under Full Payment of Duty

    HI
Subcontracting under Full Payment of Duty
Creation of Excise Invoice w.r.t. Transfer Posting Document (J1IS)  --
Capture Excise Invoice at the time of GR of Finished Goods (MIGO or J1IEX) 
    Post Excise Invoice (J1IEX) 
in order to process the abve prcess , pls advise what are the preequiestes???  where we need to use JEXC cond type?

    Hello,
You create a subcontracting PO. Create a Transfer Posting document for 541. This 541 doc can then be used to create an EI through J1IS.
On receiving the goods back from the subcontractor you have to use the option "Only part 1" or even no excise entry at MIGO. the reason for this is to avoid wrong updation of 543 O movement in part 1 table.
You may then update part 1 for 101 through J1I5 and then create Excise Invoice with reference to the GR document. If you see two line items one for the output and the component, you should delete the component from the incoming EI creation screen in J1IEX.

How do I ensure i have cancelled all auto renew apps to avoid over payment?

I don't know if this addresses my concern about losing app data on the iPhone, as there is no mention of this in the tech note you liked to.
However, I think these threads may have provided me with a solution:

  • Installment Loans - Over Payment

    Hello all,
The requirement from the business id as follows:
If a customer makes an over payment on an installment loan (tcode EK25), then the payment should be applied only to the principal amount.
It should not be applied to the interest document. The interest should become zero on these documents.
Please help me understand this. How can I apply the over payment amount only to the principal. I am not able to modify the interest amount on EK26 screen, Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you all in advance.

    Hi,
Regarding the first part of your question, have you tried configuring clearing variant 20D (Loans) in Open Item Management configuration? You could use the combination of transactions there and the clearing lock for the interest items to solve this issue.
    Hope it helps.

  • $700 over payment... now past due?

ten year customer.... i made my $70 payment, but fat-fingered the amount, and actually paid $770.  so my account showed a $700 credit.  fabulous!  so the following month when the statement printed, they deducted my following month's charge of $70, and i had an account balance of $630; a credit owed to me.  i get my statement and think "$630 credit.  i'll call them and get that refunded"
ya know, i could totally pay the rent with that, so i called and said, hey maybe cut me a check for the remaining $630.  sure they said, we'll send that $630 check right out!
then, less than 5 days later, i get the calls from collections saying my account is two months past due and i need to pay another $160 NOW or they will cancel my service.
so i call in and find out they haven't sent me a check for the balance ($630), but they HAVE reversed the entire payment instead.... they think.  the phone reps at version really can't tell me what form of payment the refund was made or where it was sent.  they don't know if a check was mailed.... they can't tell if an electronic payment was made.  they don't know how and they don't know the amount.
what they DO know is that they will cancel my account in 7 days if i don't pay them another $160 immediately.
my bank says it will take 8-10 days to credit back IF they receive it due to the large amount of the refund.
my question:  when a person makes a $700 overpayment to their account, what is the correct question to ask to get the balance refunded WITHOUT throwing one's account into collections?  if the representative would have said "hey, i see you made an overpayment, if we refund you, we'll turn you over to collections , we'll cancel your account before you have money to pay your bill and you'll have to shop for another account with sprint" i wold have at least been prepared to shop around.
what really should have happened?  i can't pay (my new) balance because the money hasn't been sent to my electronic account yet.  verizon wants to cancel my account because they say i'm past due since they refunded too much money, they say.
after being with verizon for a decade,  i can't imagine shopping for another plan, but i'm looking at less than a week before i need to port my number.  how can i resolve this situation?
and i still don't have my $700 back...... and i'm the bad guy.
    what to do?

No, the poster noticed it on the next billing cycle and not at once.
Based on the $700 overpayment Verizon took the $70 out for that next month.
When they asked for the overpayment of $630 Verizon in their error refunded $700 which then threw them in arrears for $70.
Additionally Verizon now jerked them around not to refund the credit balance. But instead demanded payment for an error on their part via refunding too much back.
This is not the original posters problem. However 9 days later no refund back to her bank because Verizon is once again shining the customer on. It does not take 10 days to electronically place money back into an account that was charged instantly. It is just a reversal of overpayment.
Could the customer contact their bank and had it reversed instantly more than likely. That is what I would have done. My Amex credits me in seconds this way no messing around pulling teeth to get your over payment from Verizon.
For right now I would simply call the bank for a reversal credit, pay the balance owed to Verizon and be more careful in the future.
    Good Luck

  • Under & Over Delivery Tolerance.........

    Hi there ,
I have maintained the Under & over delivery tolerance of the material in the work scheduling view....... but when I am creating the Process Order of the material...... in the goods recipt view in Process order it is still showing me zero percentage as Under & Over Delivery Tolerance
Do I have to mention the same tolerances some where else also ....... what can be the reason behind this abberation .......
    Please help me .....
    Thanks
    Kaushik

    Kaushik,
I dont think it is possibel to check all the persons who have changed. But if table logging is active in your system you could check the changes from transaction SCU3. In this transaction choose evaluate logs, choose Evaluate for tables, enter the table name AFPO. In output options choose Only actual changes and append table changes and Also evaluate check boxes. Enter the start and end date/ time. And then execute. You would get the user name, change date/ time, old and new values.
If table logging is not active in your system, for future you may ask your ababp/basis team to activate it for the important tables you require and create a report query to find the changes made.
    Hope above is useful.

  • Under/over absorption

    Dear experts,
We did cost center assessment and COPA assessment. But our financial profit is not matching with COPA profit. We considered all the cost elements except Increase/decrease of WIP, Inc/dec of FG and COGS. Actually the difference between Finacial profit and COPA profit should be under or over absorption. But that amount is not matching with under/over absorption in cost centers(diff between debits and credits in cost centers after excluding assessment cost elements and COGS elements). Vast difference it is showing. How to match this financial profit and COPA profit. Please help me.
    Regards
    Jay

    Hi Piet,
I would need some inputs regarding matching of FI vs Costing Based COPA reports on the following issues:
    1. Costing based COPA reports are normally build on Billing.
1.a How would production variances be mapped against qty billed.
1.b How would production variances related to SFG be mapped against FG qty billed.
1.c How would material purchase related price variances be mapped against FG qty billed.
1.d How would material valuation related price variances be mapped against FG qty billed.
    2. There would be certain incomes or expenses which may not be allocable at all to the product for determining its contribution. I presume, here we can build some logic for allocation.
But the prime concern is issue no.1, for which, I have at least not been in a position to arrive at a logic.
Would appreciate, if you can suggest on the above issues.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Over Payments for foreign currency

    Hi
We placed a message, that over payments and underpayments does not work for foreign currency business partners. See SAP Note 1068260.
The SAP Support gave us the feedback, that we can not place a "Missing Funktionality Request" in that case.
What should we do that our customers can use the SAP Business One properly?

    Hi,
When the revaluation program is run (normally during month end), the foreign currency transactions will get revaluated and the loss/gain gets posted to the B/S adjustment account.
If the program, in the above step, was run with the "Reverse posting" indicator marked, the documents created in the above step would be reversed automatically on the 1st day of the next month. Thus the adjustment account gets set off.
If the "Reverse posting" indicator was NOT set, then during the invoice payment, the adjustment entry (from the first step) gets reversed. In the payment document you can find an additional entry that sets off the B/S adjustment account.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Mike

  • Bill Over-Payment

I paid my bill on line, and it somehow posted twice, so that I overpaid by $443.57. I have spoken to customer service several times over the last 5 days, and was told that my refund request was "sent via TOPS form to the treasury department". Having received no remimbursement in 5 business days, I called yesterday and was told by customer service "supervisor" Kimberly that "Verizon's treasury department is working with my bank". She could not explain exactly what that meant, and refused to let me speak to anyone in the "treasury" department, and that she would email me daily with updates. So far, no update. What does it take to have the obvious overpayment reimbursed to my bank account? Or, does Verizon think it is their right to hold these funds, even though they acknowledge the overpayment?

I am a mite confused here. If paying in person you can use cash or credit or debit card. Also a check.
All of which you have total control of.
If you paid by credit or debit card the screen that flashes up before you sign shows the amount.
If you paid by check the correct amount would be on the check. If you paid with cash which if I read correctly you did not do then all the other methods would have been under your control.
You are shown the amount to pay *before* you swipe the card or Verizon swiped the card.
Now if you have an account setup with a saved card or bank information and asked the Verizon person to just use the card on file again you would have seen the amount prior to authorizing it.
I cannot see how your missive holds up in light of how payments are made.
If you used the payment kiosk in one of the corporate stores the error if made would still be done by you.
If credit or debit call the bank and have them reverse the payment. They will by law. But will need proof of what you claimed occurred.
    Good Luck

  • Over payment by vendor

    hi friends,
    just had a problem....
One of our vendor has over paid invoices and would like us to return these funds to their New York Bank account.
However, I'm not able to register Bank details on this item - the only available field is "House Bank". Do you know why??
    regard
    charlie

Go to the customer master (FD02) and enter enter the new bank details in the "payment transactions" section. If there is already a bank there, then enter the new bank on the second line and enter a value in the Bk.Typ field, to distinguish the two. You can enter "1" for the first bank, and "2" for the second bank, for example.
Then go to the invoice in question (or the residual item from the overpayment), double click and choose "Additional data". Then enter the Part.Bnk.Typ for the relevant bank.
Then go to F110 payment run and choose the customer and dcument yoou want to pay. This will send it to the correct bank.
