Understanding the app.batch method is CS2 JS scripting
Hi,
I'm a press officer in a fairly busy press office and I'm trying to automate my image-processing workflow for the images we put on our website...So far I've been using photoshop's (CS2) batch command to do this but it's not as performant as I would like it to be.
For each of the pictures I have I need to produce
- 'large'(1024px wide),
- 'frontpage'(240px wide),
- 'rollup'(85px wide) versions.
I put all my original pictures in a source folder and the processed ones go to a destination folder. The only problem I've got is that I need to run the batch command three times for each format, plus photoshop asks me for JPEG options for each picture, so I can't really press a button and get away from my work station..
So I've looked into scripting in javascript and have managed to automate some of my sipmle tasks but what I need to do here (producing images in three different formats with a specific file naming conventions) is obviously complicated.
Now, reading the CS2 javascrip reference guide, I found that the app.batch method and all the options that go along with it (destinationFolder, fileNaming especially) might be what I'm looking for. The only problem is that i can't seem to find any examples (I've spent the last week searching) to help me using that method...
Can anyone share an example of how you use this method so I can get my head around it?

Finding a version that works with CS2 might be a problem.
xbatch may work. I haven't run it on CS2 in years.

Using the app.setTimeOut Method
Ok, I really need help here. Ive been trying to get the app.setTimeOut method to work to no avail. Ive tried accessing a script object that I have many functions in with no success. Then I just tried to place functions into the script where I editing thinking that maybe because the script object is part of the xfa form object I couldnt access them through the app object,(or I was just using the wrong syntax) so that maybe if I placed the functions onto the same script and called them from there via:
app.setTimeOut(myFunction(),3000);
No dice. Ive tried all kinds of arrangements in quotations, (single quotes, double quotes, no quotes, etc.) and nothing. What Im trying to do is have a web service perform a query and bring back a string from the database if an object is found, then Id like for Acrobat to wait for a prescribed time before checking if the database actually returned a string value, or if it did not and display a message indicating that either it did return something or it did not.
I know that the app.SetTimeOut can see the function call Im making, because when I wasnt using quotes around the function (in the setTimeOut method) It was immediately displaying the messages. But when I put quotes around it nothing happens. Can someone help me?
MikeOk I just tried that, but it still didn't work. I've also tried writing the function code, under and above, the app.setTimeOut method and have had no success. When I do this the function runs, but does so immediately, no timeout. Thanks for your help on this.

After a logic board failure and the repair by Apple I tryed to restore my MacBook Pro from my Time Capsule.
It worked at least, but for some reasons I don't understand the App iCal was not restored and is missing now.
I searched for a manual way to install the app but did not find a file to install iCal.
What may I do?

ChristianJust to confirm, does your Firefox hide the .js extension on previous.js and the various upgrade files? In that case, you would be looking for a file named recovery with a type of JScript to rename to recovery.old, and similarly with any sessionstore file of type JScript.

Can not do anything on the app store ( need to update my payment method)
Ok, so i got my ipad about a year ago, and for the first three months, i have been using itunes cards to download stuff from the app store. Soon after this, i realised that since i dont really go out, it could be a bit of an inconvenience for me, so i decided to use my debit card instead. Things were great, until i reslised i had no money left on my account, which apple notifies you of by saying "your payment method has been declined". At first i was confused, but after trying to buy things from amazon and steam and getting the same error, i realised that i had no money. This is where the problem began. The fact that i couldnt buy apps didn't bother me, but what DID bother me was the fact that i couldn't update my apps, download free apps or even install apps i have already payed for without getting that **** error message. This lasted for a little while before i got more money on my account and it worked again. But that isn't the end of the story, about a week ago, i could no longer do anything on the app store without getting that error, EVENTHOUGH i have money on my account. I knew this because right after that error messaged popped up for the trillionth time, i brought a book from amazon with absolutely NO PROBLEMS.

While trying to change my Credit Card info: The app store tells me that my payment method information does not match my bank records and to try again or enter a new payment method. My CC is valid and its the same CC ive had for a while. This CC info works for iTunes but is not being accepted for the App store.I have changed this info online but cannot change it on my iPhone. Trying to understand the getResource method

I'm writing a simple game and I'm using a game framework for java. The framework uses the getResource("path") method on creating every texture. The constructor only accepts the relative path. My problem is I don't want image files to be placed in the build folder. I would like to create textures from an absolute path. I don't want to modify the framework code.
In the Class Loader javadoc I've found that getResorce method executes the findResorce method if it fails on finding the resource. The findResource method should be overriden in a Class Loader implementation. How can I do it?

Thanks.It does this so you can JAR your application, which gives you the ability to distribute an executable with all of your resources included. So your buds will not have to worry about if they have the support files installed to run your application or not.I understand the intention, but it's rather an opposite of what I'm trying to do. In my idea the game on it's first running aks the user for a path. The path points a place where the sounds and images should by downloaded i.e. from an ftp server. On the later runnings the game already know where the images, etc have been downloaded and uses them. -
Trying to understand the Music app... Genre question
K... There are so many problems I have with the Music app, but this question is the focus on one.. I understand that I cannot play an entire Genre of music in iOS7 (without creating a Smart Playlist for each Genre from within iTunes), and I've come to terms with that....but I just realized I can't even see the specific songs that genre has.
I dunno how to explain it, but I'll try...
I have all of Adam Lambert's albums in iTunes and I have right clicked songs and set them to specific genres, some are pop, some are rock, and I have one lone Adam Lambert song in my "Dance" genre. On my iPhone, with iOS7, I go to the Music app...tap Genres...tap Dance...and it shows Adam Lambert...so I tap on it and it shows me ALL 70 songs, NOT the one single song I have listed in the Dance genre. Now, if I go to Genres on iTunes and go to the Dance section, then that one single Adam Lambert song shows up. This occurs with every artist, not just him. If I go to Rock, it shows all of them as well. It's as if...if you have an artist with a song in multiple genres it decides all of the songs should be in all of those genres. What's the point of it?
I don't understand the point of the Genre section on the iPhone if I can't even sort my stuff correctly. Am I missing something or is this just how it is now?Have you read the manual for this plugin?

No. Only apps purchased from the App Store can be re downloaded for free including updates. -

Then contact your bank and find out why the authorization is being refused.
Note that debit cards are not accepted in all markets. You need a valid credit card with a billing address in the country of the store in which you're trying to set up an account. You must also be physically present in that country.
You can not, for example, set up an account in the US or UK store if you are in Russia. -

Apple doesn't answer questions here. Everyone here is a user so we wouldn't know about why there is an issue with your account. If it is a bank card, then you need to check with the bank.

Dear all, I have just bought a MacBook pro with osx lion on 25th last month. I wanted to know if I can use the methods described above to update to osx mountain lion or I have to buy osx mountain lion from the app store?

Ok I don't understand why this sign that says "Terms and Policy of App store has changed!" So it tells me to go agree the new terms and policy. After i did that it returns to the App Store where i was before. And only like ten to five seconds it appears again! I just dont know what to do! Can anyone help me?!
Sign out of iTunes and sign back in and try again. The issue is being reported as being solved....

my ipad is connected to my wifi but the app store and itunes store never open, the internet never works and it is always loading but never working. I dont understand why as my computer works for my wifi and my brand new ipad should too.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
