Unexpected error occurred :concurrent access to HashMap attempted

While runnig the ALBPM 5.7 we got this error. This looks like the ALBPM workflow engine is using HashMap in a unsynchronized way. is this a known issue and is there a work around for this?
This error happened shortly after a possible blip in the database server, with exception message which said:
Message:
The connectivity to the BEA AquaLogic™ BPM Server database has been successful restablished.
Any thoughts/insight/past experience....
Looks like we should be using Hashtable instead of a HashMap (or atleast a Synchronized HashMap)
This is best done at creation time, to prevent accidental unsynchronized access to the map:
Map m = Collections.synchronizedMap(new HashMap(...));
See Exception message below

Hi BalusC,
I forgot to tell one thing, the exception what I mentioned is coming very rarely. The application is in Production and they getting this Exception once in 3 months. Is there any way to re-produce the same exception number of times to check whether it has been fixed or not after installing the updates as you said. If you have any information regarding this exception please send me.
Thank You.

  • Error in Remote Web Access - "An unexpected error occurred. Please try again. If the problem continues, contact the person who manages your server."

I have set up the RWA and I can log in to the web console with my server account. However when I click on any of the shared folders I get this error:
An unexpected error occurred.  Please try again.  If the problem continues, contact the person who manages your server.
Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?
    Regards,
    Maciek

I had this very same issue with one of our customer's servers that was running Windows Server Essentials. I ended up calling Microsoft about the issue. I hope this helps someone. This originally appeared on my blog: http://techspeeder.com/2014/01/14/remote-web-access-error-an-unexpected-error-occurred/
    Troubleshooting Steps:
    1.  We were getting unexpected errors while accessing shared folders remotely
    2.  The tech found IIS handlers were missing
    3.  She went to IIS > server level ( parent level) and added managed handler mapping  :
    Name: svc-Integrated-4.0
    Request path: *.svc
    Executable: System.ServiceModel.Activation.ServiceHttpHandlerFactory, System.ServiceModel.Activation, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35
    4. Added script mapping:
    Name: svc-ISAPI-4.0_64bit
    Request path: *.svc
    Executable: windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_isapi.dll
    Name: svc-ISAPI-4.0_32bit
    Request path: *.svc
    Executable: windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework32\v4.0.30319\aspnet_isapi.dll
    5. Ran IISreset.
    6. We were able to access resources in Remote access, then.

  • An unexpected error occurred attempting to prepare your library

So I'm trying to use the new photos library,  and I keep getting this error no matter what i do when importing my iPhoto library in:
An unexpected error occurred attempting to prepare your library (1,114)
Ive rebuilt the library in iPhoto, fixed permissions, and I'm almost to the point of just exporting everything, but i can't say I'm a huge fan of what Ive seen in photos so far, so I'm currently just using iPhoto.  Is anyone else having issues importing their library from if to photos?  I haven't even attempted to move apertures.

Same thing has happened to me. I'm using a MacBook Aluminum (Late 2008) upgraded to 8GB of RAM and 1TB HDD running Yosemite 10.10.3. I successfully set up the photo app on an admin account that has no photos, but had the same error on my main user account.
    Troubleshooting attempted so far:
    1. Closed the app then tried again - did not correct the error
    2. Rebooted then tried opening Photo App - did not correct the error
    3. Rebooted in "Safe Mode" and repaired disk permissions - did not correct the error
I'm currently copying all my photo's to an external HDD with the intention of deleting my iPhoto library (once complete) then setting up the Photo App with no photos in my library. I'm hoping it will allow me to set it up at that point like it did with my admin account, then import all my old pics. I still have about 2 hours to go until my photos have copied over to my external HDD. I'm hoping someone will come along with a better solution. I really don't want to spend several hours/day re-organizing my photos.

  • TS4597 AirPort base station not seen or "An unexpected error occurred" appears in AirPort Utility 6.3 - It did the above steps and cannot get airport utility to allow access to the Airport extreme in order to reconfigure please help

I tried following the article's instructions by going into System Preferences / Network and changing the configure ipv6 tab to Link local only and I STILL am getting the same error. Can someone please advise how to get this ariport extreme back online and configured

I'm in a frustrating predicament with this error, so if folks have any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated...
A few days ago my internet stopped working as best i know out of the blue (3rd gen Airport Extreme with a couple iPhones, iPad, Apple TV's, Mac's (one with Mavericks) on it).  In trying to fix it, I powered down everything and reset the router.  When the router is initializing (seen through the Airport utility), the internet starts working again on the Mac in which I'm running the Airport utility. (a browser in background loads a previously unloadable webpage).  I'm then left with a screen where the Airport utility is waiting for me to enter set-up info:
If I leave the Airport Utility in this state and don't hit next, my internet works fine on my Mac.  If I set-up this info, however, my internet no longer works (in Airport Utility the Internet globe has a orange circle saying internet disconnected) and I get a screen saying "An unexpected error occured.  Try again."  I've tried toggling a number of router settings, restarting the router, but nothing seems to fix it.
I've taken the router to Apple, where they were able to create a network fine with the router.  I also bought a new AE router, and tried an old AE express router, but all attempts get the same error.  I've also tried using the iOS Airport utility, but that doesn't seem to help.  I've tried the older version (5.6) of Airport Utility run on a non-Mavericks Mac, but that didn't help.
I had a ISP technician come out, but they basically said the plug (we don't have a modem, but just a ethernet plug in our apartment)  in which you're getting the internet from us is working, and it's your router.  They're diagnostics said the router is 'throwing off a bunch of errors.'  That being said, they've confirmed the setting on the AE are okay (as far as they know...).
Any thoughts here?  I'm not especially network-proficient, but searching around has pointed me to potential issues with mavericks, IPv6, and the latest version of the Airport Utility.
    I'm desperate - please help!
    Much thanks in advance.

  • ARD 3.1 - "An unexpected error occurred..."

I'm attempting to "Change Client Settings" on our managed OS X clients, but keep getting the uninformative error "An unexpected error occurred while creating a custom installer". This error occurs every time and on every system. The only change I'm attempting to make is to "Enable directory-based administration". I never had this problem on version 3.0, but haven't been able to verify whether or not this is a version specific error. We don't have any images with the 3.0 client, so I haven't been able to test this yet.
I've checked the console and see nothing relevant. This is definitely a global problem, and not specific to a single machine. It's hard to pinpoint the issue given the error message and lack of logging. I've made a few changes (firewall, permissions, etc), but nothing has had any positive effect. Hopefully I'm just missing something obvious. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check the console log, not the system log, for log messages from the admin application.
I recall previous posts where the errors like this have been due to write access issues (i.e. wrong privileges to write out the installer).

  • Windows 8 - Right Click Network Connection Properties - An unexpected error occurred

    Hi,
I'm encountering an issue with a relatively new Windows 8 Pro x64 install (Been running about a week).
When attempting to right click on the Network Connection and select "Properties", I receive the following error:
    "An unexpected error occurred"
The error also occurs when trying to disable the adapter. The network connection DOES work though. I have received an IP from my DHCP router and have network/internet access.
I have tried the Windows XP/7 "fix":
    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\netshell.dll, and then click OK.
    3. In the RegSvr32 dialog box, click OK.
Test to see if you can open the properties of the network connection in the Network Connections folder.
    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\ole32.dll, and then click OK.
    3. In the RegSvr32 dialog box, click OK.
    4. Restart the computer.
Both did NOT work. I have also attempted uninstalling and reinstalling the Network Driver. I have also tried "SFC /scannow".
    Neither of these worked either.

We have recently installed BPC 51 (SP2). This been working fine for months until yesterday. Now we are getting errors on OLAP Database. Following is the problem description. Any help would be appreciated.
Received error "The underlying connection was closed:  An unexpected error occurred on a send." while processing dimension. This message appears during 'Create Dimension' sub step( step 2/5). After this BPC server crashes.
The same error appears while deleting appset during 'Delete OLAP Database' sub step (step 2/4). We are also not able to restore an appset since the process hangs during OLAP Database stage.
Software version: BPC Version 5.0.102 SP2

Yes we did that several time, but did not solve the problem.
Finally, we processed all the dimensions, applications, appsets within SQL server studio and the problem is resolved. I am not sure if this would surface again.
    Thanks

  • External hard drive networked via AirPort Extreme gives "The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)" roughly every two days

My lab has about 10 Mac computers.  We all access a central hard drive by the way of wifi provided by AirPort.  It's just a regular external hard drive (Seagate Desktop Drive) that I turned into our central storage space by plugging it into AirPort (USB).  It works pretty well.  We seem to be fine with viewing the file directories, opening files, saving, deleting etc., for a day or two.  But then after a day or two, when when trying to modify files or move new files onto the central hard drive, we get the error message: "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)"
Any suggestions as to what may be causing this problem?
All of the computers are 2011 iMacs & MacPros.  The AirPort is 802.11n WiFi.  The hard drive is a Seagate USB 3.0 Desktop Drive.
    Thank you for your insight/suggestions.

Thanks for your reply.  I agree about the communication issue. Let me explain my setup and what I am trying to do and perhaps you can answer my questions or make suggestions.
I have a MAC Mini with a Sony TV for the video monitor.  The  Mac Mini is hard wired to the AE (Airport Extreme).  The AE has a 2 TB HD hooked up to the USB Port.  I have a 17" Mac Book Pro on the WIFI Network.
I am trying to use the MAc Mini as a "Media Server" of sorts.  Once I get iTunes running the way I plan I am goign to hook up my Apple TV (2nd Generation) to my television downstairs.
What I am trying to accomplish is have iTunes on all my computers look to the External HD on the AE for the files.  This is why I am having my (-50 errors).
So far I have noticed that if I go and try to download from iTunes purchased videos that are not ont he computer (to the external HD) it will also occassionaly give me teh -50 error.
Is there a way to change where the files go when I download them?  Say I want to download videos to the computer but not to the external HD?  However I would want to still be able to move them to the External HD.

    Hi SThiyag,
Based on your error message, it may be related to the “SecureConnectionLevel” in the RSReportServer.config file. Please go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer, use Notepad to open the RSReportServer.config,
    modify <Add Key="SecureConnectionLevel" Value="0"/>, change the value into "1" or "2".
(Note: Please backup the file before modify it.)
    Acceptable values are:

  • Picture services failed to load - An unexpected error occurred

Just uninstalled Desktop 5.0 and installed Desktop 6.0.
Everything else seems to be working fine.  It's just that when I try to access "Media Sync-->Pictures". I get the following message:
"Picture services failed to load  - An unexpected error occurred"
I especially need to access my pics b/c my media card is out of room.(perhaps itself a clue?)
    I have a Curve 8350i  from Nextel/Sprint
I would happily post the "log" entry, but I don't know how to find it and/or turn logging on.
    Please help.

This is a portion of the Desktop Log.   It is strange because the Blackberry Desktop Software 6.0 works fine on my laptop but not on my desktop computer....

  • An unexpected error occurred processing your request. Check the logs for details and correct the problem.

    Hi All,
I am configuring RSS Viewer webpart to SP 2013.
But i am getting an error "An unexpected error occurred processing your request. Check the logs for details and correct the problem."
I looked for solution of this error. i got to know, we need to set proxy server in web.config file.
So, in order to resolve this i put the following set of code in web.config and save the file
    <system.net>
        <defaultProxy>
          <proxy usesystemdefault="True" proxyaddress="http://myproxyserver" bypassonlocal="True" />
        </defaultProxy>
      </system.net>
But, still i am getting the error.
What could be the problem now.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rakesh

    Hi Rakesh,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you used RSS viewer web part in SharePoint 2013.
The RSS viewer web part uses authentication delegation and is using the current user's credentials to access the proxy. However, the RSS viewer only supports anonymous and Kerberos authentication. So if you are using NTLM authentication, the RSS viewer will
not be able to authenticate the user through the proxy. More information, please refer to the link:

    Also see:

    I hope this helps.

  • "An unexpected error occurred (error code -43)" when launching Time Machine

Hi! When attempting to launch Time Machine, I get the following error:
The operation could not be completed
An unexpected error occurred (error code -43)
My machine is a 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon running 10.5.8
What's strange is that Time Machine DID work just the other day. It would launch automatically when I plugged in my external HD (Maxtor One Touch) though I didn't set it up to back up yet. After I reformatted the drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled), Time Machine started giving me this error and won't launch. Any ideas here? Thanks!

When you reformatted, it got a new UUID (Universally Unique IDentifier), which may be confusing Time Machine. Try just reselecting it, per +Time Machine Preferences.+
If that doesn't help, try a "full reset" of Time Machine, per #A4 in [Time Machine - Troubleshooting|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/Troubleshooting.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).

  • An Unexpected error occurred.(Error: WIJ 44444)

    Hi
I am using BO 6.5.1 whilst accessing Webi reports from Infoview I am getting below error message.
u201CAn Unexpected error occurred.contact your administrator with details of actions you performed before the error occrred.(Error: WIJ 44444)u201D
I am using data in my universe from Teradata. and my application server and business objects are installed on UNIX box. can any body advise me what is the root cause and what kind of check can explain me the root cause of the same.
    Cheers,
    Jacks Arunkumar LouisMartin

    Hi Arun,
Following solution might help you to resolve the issue.
In case the solution doesn't works for you then test the issue on SP2 under test environment as some of the WIJ44444 errors are resolved in SP2.
Apache web server does not start after "./wserversctl start" command on UNIX.
    WebIntelligence version 6.5
    UNIX
    Apache web server
    Tomcat application server
You execute "./wserversctl start" and Tomcat starts, but Apache fails to start. You look for the web server process with the following command, but get no results:
    ps -ef | grep httpd
You execute "./wserversctl stop" and receive the following response:
    httpd (pid ?) not running
You change directories to "$APACHE/bin" and execute the "./httpd" command, and you receive an error similar to the following:
ld.so.1: ./httpd: fatal: libaprutil-0.so.0: open failed: No such file or directory
    Killed
    *********CAUSE*************
The default configuration for Apache is not correct for this server.
The "httpd.conf" configuration file has the wrong entry for Group.
Here are the steps to follow:
    1.Change directories to "$APACHE/conf".
2.Open the file "httpd.conf" in a text editor such as vi.
3.Locate the following line in the configuration file:
    Group # -1
4.Modify this line to read as the following:
    Group nobody
5.Save the file and exit the editor.
6.Rerun "./wserversctl start" command to restart the processes.

  • 'An unexpected error occurred' using AirPort Utility to configure an Extreme

Hi all, I've been fighting with this problem for a while. I have a 2011 Mac Mini running OS X 10.7.5 and AirPort Ulility 6.2. I also have a new-ish AirPort Extreme A1408. They've never really seemed to work properly together. The only way to configure the device is to manually launch the AirPort Utility, go "file > configure other" and enter the password "public" to log in and manually change the settings.
If I hard-reset (which I've been doing to troubleshoot another issue) and simply choose "Other AirPort Base Stations (1)" I can see my router in the drop-down. It goes through the process of gathering information and joining the default wireless network (I'm using the unsecured default right now as a matter of fact), but then the process ends with 'An unexpected error occurred'. Even with that message displayed, the default wi-fi connection stays up (clicking cancel kills the wi-fi connection immediately).
I can always go back through the "file > configure other" process and set it up manually, but then it never appears in the AirPort Utility as a connected base station - all I see is a green light for Internet and a "No configured base stations have been found" message.
Here's what I'm seeing in the Console:
13-05-25 11:12:27.000 PM kernel: MacAuthEvent en1   Auth result for: 20:c9:d0:20:4c:10  MAC AUTH succeeded

13-05-25 11:20:29.806 PM configd: network configuration changed.
Looks like after I open AirPort Utility, the connection to the default wireless network is established, the system goes to probe the base station, says "nope I know this guy already", then the process spits out the 'An unexpected error occurred' message, I click "cancel", and the link is dropped.
Does anyone know why my AirPort does this? Is it a network configuration setting somewhere in the Mac? I've had this thing for a while and of course decided to dive into the Apple ecosystem entirely dropping to a single Windows gaming rig, only to find that the special magic doesn't work for me

Read this please, before assuming your AirPort Extreme is broken. The links at the end will likely resolve your issues. First try to rollback your AirPort's firmware to 6.1.1, which should restore your Internet connectivity. If it does, but you'd rather have the most recent upgrade available, follow the steps given in the following links, 6.1.3 should work fine for you then.
After numerous attempts by apple IT reps to persuade me that my modem was somehow the cause of my AirPort Extreme broadcasted WiFi network suddenly losing connectivity after the 6.1.3update, I found the truth that helped me to correct my own problem, and successfully use 6.1.3 rather than the rolled back version 6.1 i had been forced to resort to.
If rolling back your Airport's firmware fixes your connectivity issue, or your dns server has been erased by the update to 6.1.3, I speculate that these links will help you out greatly.
It turned out, that this was A KNOWN ISSUE to Apple! With an actual fix Published by Apple themselves! They've just got it hidden away because they must have wanted to drive me to the brink of insanity. . Luckily for Apple I worked with an amazing rep *(Thelma) who at least acted as if she didn't think I was a crazy person. I found the fix on my own after 16 grueling, redundant and fruitless, hours of troubleshooting (time wasting) with "senior" Apple techs.
Let me tell you, 'I told you so' has never sounded so sweet. (Thelma) was ****** that no one in the company bothered to fill her in on this issue or solution and had her support send me a new AirPort just before I discovered the fix. After the discovery, she told me not to bother sending either back, and apologized for the run around that took up weeks of my life.
