Unicode and databases support urgent help
Hello!
i want to know that how we can store the unicode characters
in a database.
is this necessary for a database to support unicode or is there any
other way to do this.

From example of Oracle I belive, that your RDBMS has to support Unicode. Another option is to store your Unicode as binary object. But this has to be hard :(

}The compiler is probably complaining about the lack of a try/catch block.
The fact that you can't understand the compiler messages, and didn't read the javadocs enough to know that you needed a try/catch block, suggest to me that you need to learn a lot more about Java. This is pretty fundamental stuff.
When you have problems, it's best to include information about what the compiler or runtime is telling. Error messages and stack traces are helpful.
In your case the error is so elementary that more information isn't necessary.

Samsung illusion not worth it and verizon support no help
I bough a Samsung illusion a few months back and just want to say it has been nothing but problems . When i turned it on for the longest time it beeped over and over till i pulled down the drop down menu with my finger . now the phone asks to activate every time the phone dies or resets . the only way i can use it is if i enable soft-keys through the emergency dial pad . also my mobile web wont work at all... Now having said all the issues with the phone let me state I have been on customer support phone calls about a dozen times by now they have suggested everything from going to get a software update to a factory reset . we have gone through all the steps of checking all the phone settings . Finally customer support said to call Samsung for a replacement phone and gave me the number . I called and they said they don't know why i was told to do that since they don't offer replacements or loner phones . but they could re-flash it to factory settings for me . well called customer support again and then i was told to take it to a retail store and see what they could do . I have been there twice now and can get no help because there are no cleaner phones available . So tonight which was the second attempt to try i was given a number for warranty and was told that i might could get a different phone since they had more leeway . so i called and all i got was ... customer support who then gave me the number to Samsung. ..... I am honestly at this point so fed up with customer support gone wrong and being ran in circles with no real answers that i am simply tired of it .
ok.. i missed that memo. clearly stated where? the micro sim is not the problem. i'm loyal to apple because previously i have had great service and products. i guess i didn't research enough. getting my money back will not make me happier..having a sexy iphone 4 that pwns other devices will. right now my 3gs is running circles around the 4 as far as phone- ability is concerned. the other functions are without doubt upgraded. camera..look and feel...capacity...retina display..mmmm

CraigApologies, I resolved this myself. Was not obvious and no error logs indicated what the problem was.
Turns out that the initial configuration of tablespace data files was incorrect. Even though it matched the correct size it tried creating them as 1 file and subsequently ran out of file system space.
After realising this I changed the values and adjusted the tablespaces post creation.

varchar2 is a null-terminated string. Use Pro*C extended type VARCHAR. Manual Reference

Use alter session to set tracing on for your session:
alter session set sql_trace = true ;
this will create a trace file in the user dump destination
(select value from v$parameter where name = 'user_dump_dest'). Use tkprof to format the trace file.

"Installer failed to initialize" and Adobe Support Advisor HELP!
I have tried downloading a trial of Photoshop Elements 11 and previously a trial of Adobe Photoshop CS6. Each time I get to the step where I launch the installer for the application, a box shows up saying, "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Suport Advisor to detect the problem."
I have downloaded the Advisor and it just says, "Inspection could not identify any issues. Please contact Adobe Support for further assistance."This is what my PDApp.log file looks like, can you detect what the problem is? None of the information in the troubleshoot page was helpful to me. Hello everybody, and how are you all doing on this wonderful Friday?
Today after doing research on the support website for Adobe ShockWave flash player, I'm here as a last resourt.
Allow me to explain the issue!
WARNING:
THIS IS GOING TO BE EXTREMELY LONG, BUT I NEED HELP VERY VERY BADLY!!
I've waisted people's time because of this issue.
I'm using an HP Windows 7 Laptop with latest version of Windows 7!
I have Adobe ShockWave 11.7 the LATEST VERSION and It is a great program.
However in one of my simulators which is a V500 Evita Ventilator simulator from the company Drager, the performance is HORRID, and when I say horrid, I mean HORRID TIMES 30 and then some.
Keep in mind that this has been tested by the company on other computers, and it works just fine, however on mine the waveforms and data is choppy, slow and what it will do is it will be working smoothly one second, the next second It lags and then catches up, then lags again, and It basically drags along miserably. I used this program online and then when I contacted Drager the owners of the simulator, they thought I get a DVD of the simulator. THEY GAVE IT TO ME FREE OF CHARGE. I got it, and It was still slow and Jerky. I had used Google Chrome to use the simulator online HOWEVER, when I used the DVD, It was still slow. I have a LOAD of computer space, and have tried uninstalling Adobe Shockwave, Reinstalling it, then doing that several times. NOTHING. NOW WHAT??
I'm desperate right now. When I say DESPERATE, THIS HAS GOT TO BE FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLY POSSIBLE.

Is there some setting I can adjust?
Or SOMETHING???
The thing is other things that require Adobe Shockwave work just fine. I use a lot of simulators.
Its just this simulator.

New HP Envy 15 wont start and HP Support wont help under warranty
Seems that once you purchase an HP product these days and register it online and show the warranty data that HP will not do any warranty work for you unless you produce the sales receipt. I work internationally and travel the world. Recently purchased an HP Envy 15 in Los Angelas in April 2012. It was a fantastic machine till two days ago when it decided to just quit. Nothing, no indications, no fan, no noise just dead. I troubleshot the cord, the power, the battery and had IT look at it and it appears to be a motherboard issue. So I contacted support only to learn that because I dont carry every purchase receipt I have for all products i have purchased in my life and one of them being this Laptop, they refused to work on it even though it is clearly registered and shows that it has a warranty! Once again HP has let its customers down and put in place a policy that is rediculous and uncalled for to protect themselves from anyone ever using thier service, if that is what they actually have? I suspect it is just a call center and there is not a repair station and they just use the receipt as an excuse because as I tried to go higher up in the management to talk to someone with an intelligence to understand that when travelling you dont carry your lifes receipts with you, I was shuffled to one connection to another until I reached a man that gave me a number to call that didnt have a person on the end of it. This is HP at its best. Sell a product and dont take the time to be there when you need them. I will stop spending my hard earned money on HP once again. They have shown thier true business colors once again. Good bye after a decade of supporting your products. Not again. Disgruntled and angry at your lack of support.

Problem in FPM comp(pcui_gp~xssutils and pcui_gp~xssfpm) (urgently help)

I am working on Floor Plan Managerin which i am using pcui_gpxssutils and pcui_gpxssfpm. Through Syn Archives , I have copied in my Local development .Then I created project in the local development. But when I expand these two FPM components , I am not getting any components, views etc. in it. I need to use FcEmployeeServices of pcui_gp~xssutils through used webdynpro components.
Please help me why any components are not visible in FPM component.

Manish JaiswalI think you are creating a DC with FPM, so you need to add pcui_gpxssutils and pcui_gpxssfpm DC's as used DC"s in you application, and create the webdynpro component and add the used dc's from fpm and utilis or else you may be added wrongly in the used dc's ,check that you have to select all options like runtime, build time and deploy time except design time.

Damaged and Lost Data - URGENT HELP
Can anyone help me. I need to recover some data from a usb stick that has become corrupted. It seemed as though the stick had hung so after a bit i took it out and now it sees nothing when plugged in apart from a weird file. Although if I perform a verify on it with disk utility it says there are 301 files on it, but a repair achieves nothing. I have even tried techtools pro but i can't even switch to the stick. this may be because it is fat32.
does anyone have any ideas as quite desperate. There are 30 people waiting on the data that I have here.Hi JayLex;

I'm new to this thread and require your urgent help in this regard.
I've got a requirement for building a 5000 X 5000 matrix using PL/SQL. My original data tables have 5000 rows each and I need to do a correlation analysis using this data and need to store in a physical table and not in-memory. Is this feat achievable using mere PL/SQL? I understand that Oracle DB has a limitation of 1000 columns(but not sure) and hence I'd like to know whether there is any work-around for such scenarios. If not, what are the other alternative method(s) to achieve this feat? Do I need to use any 3rd party tools to get this done? An early reply from the experts is highly appreciated.

You can do the matrix, but are out of luck with a 5000 x 5000 table because Oracle only allows 1000 columns per table. There are ways to work around this.
How do do the matrix depends on what you want to do. You can do this different ways. You can create a table beforehand and use PL/SQL or simple SQL to populate it, or use the CREATE TABLE AS syntax to create and populate it in one step if you can get the underlying SQL to work the way you want, something like
create table my_table as
select a.*, b.*
from table1 a, table2 bcan populate a matrix from 2 tables with an intentional cartesian join (the WHERE clause was left out intentionally, provided your data is already in the data base.
If not you can use a PL/SQL routine to populate the data.
There are a couple of ways to solve the 1000 column limit. The easiest way might be to have 5 collections of 1000 columns each. A more complicated but more elegant soltion would be to have nested collections, allowing 2 colliections that you can loop through - a collection of collections. Nested collections can be hard to work with. A third way would be to use nested tables in the database but I personally do not like them and the insert, update, and delete statements for nested tables are hard to use.
I'm not going to give a code example because I am not sure which solution is best for you. If you have further questions post them.
