Unicode support for QT text tracks?

Does Quicktime NOT support unicode text? Is it not possible to create a text track with Chinese, Korean or other subtitles? I have a unicode file, but the text gets garbled when I try to open it in QT Pro. I have tried the language descriptor {language:23}, but no luck, and putting {textencoding:256} does not help either. That is for UTF-16, but it does not display correctly. There does not seem to be a descriptor for UTF-8. I tried {textencoding:64} but no luck either.

hi,
Use atinav.com driver. I hope it will solve ur problem......

  • Unicode Support for Brio 8

    <p>Does Brio 8 (or any of the subsequent Hyperion versions)provide support for Unicode characters. If no, how do wetackle reporting from databases containing non-English characterslike German, Japanese etc. Thanks..Cheers..</p>

    It's not what you describe, but here is more detail on what I'm doing.
    This an example of the value string I'm storing. It's a simple xml object, converted to a unicode string, encoded in utf-8:
    u'<d cdt="1267569920" eml="[email protected]" nm="\u3059\u3053\u3099\u304f\u597d\u304d\u306a\u4e16\u754c" pwd="2689367b205c16ce32ed4200942b8b8b1e262dfc70d9bc9fbc77c49699a4f1df" sx="M" tx="000000000" zp="07030" />'
    The nm attribute is Japanese text: すごく好きな世界
    So when I add a secondary index on nm, my callback function is an xml parser which returns the value of a given attribute:
    Generically it's this:
    def callbackfn (attribute):
    """Define how the secondary index retrieves the desired attribute from the data value"""
    return lambda primary_key, primary_data: xml_utils.parse_item_attribute(primary_data, attribute)
    And so for this specific attribute ("nm"), my callback function is:
    callbackfn('nm')
    As I said in my original post, if I add this the the db, I get this type error:
    TypeError: DB associate callback should return DB_DONOTINDEX/string/list of strings.
    But when I do not place a secondary index on "nm", the type error does not occur.
    So that's consistent with what Sandra wrote in the other post, i.e.:
    "Berkeley DB never operates on the value part of a record. Values are simply payload, to be stored with keys and reliably delivered back to the application on demand."
    My guess is that I need to add an additional utf-8 encoding or decoding to the callback function, or else define a custom comparsion function so the callback will know what to do with the nm attribute value, but I'm not sure what exactly.

  • Support for Arabic text and Direction:rtl

  • Unicode support for Nokia 5233 and the like device...

    Hello. I'm just a lurker on the forums but i recently made a switch from my old 6500 slide (Series 40) to a 5233.
    When i got my new device, i wasn't exactly happy due to they (The salesmen) didn't inform me about the lack of 3G compatibility but my bigger problem is lack of Unicode support.
    I cannot browse my Japanese files on my mSD nor can i browse my Japanese forums and sites on my 5233. I've been using my 5600 slide at the moment and was wondering if there is an avaliable language pack, character set pack or font pack?
    Thanks.
    EDIT: Fixed a few typos. Hope anyone can help me.

    You need to visit a Nokia care center for language packs,they may charge a small fee for it.
    If a reply has solved your problem click Accept as solution button, doing it will help others know the solution. Thanks.

  • MultiLanguage support for Oracle Text

    Hi,
    We are providing multi language support in our application. So, we are using the NVarchar datatype. And we want to provide the search option for that text. So if i tried to create an index on that column it is giving the error and unable to create the index on that column. Same if tried to create an index on Char and Varchar datatypes it was successfully created the index on those columns and search is working fine.
    But according to our requirements, we should provide the multi language support in our application.
    Please suggest me how to create indexes on NVarchar datatype and providing the oracle text search features on that datatype.
    Waiting for your favourble reply.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Anil.

    No place in the standard docs very well. There was a note I found on it at one point, but I can't find the number at the moment. 10g new features for Text note has some info on it though. I'll look again tomorrow.
    I did a lot of research on the world_lexer a few months back (wrote some info on IR & Oracle Text our newest Oracle Press book), and got some good info from the product team. One of the chapters covering Text will be made available for free and there is a diagram in there of how the world_lexer processes text. I'll post the link to the forum when it is available.
    Since it doesn't require a language column, it attempts to auto-recognize the text...but not really the language. More like...the type of text it is. White-space delimited languages like English or Spanish are easy to break into tokens. Japanese & Korean are another story...no white-space delimiter. Arabic is yet another story. Those are essentially the buckets that text is thrown into for breaking into tokens when using the world_lexer.
    So, where does German fall? It will be broken up similar to English. But what about the special features (like alternate spelling) that are available? Nope - sorry. It doesn't know German from French. With the multi_lexer you defined sub-lexers and told Text which records were German or French. This means that you can use more of the lang features with it. The world_lexer is much easier to implement and maintain, but it is a trade-off.
    Hope that defines it a little better.

  • Bfd support for vrrp interface tracking query !

    Hi All
    I have a requirement in my typical LAN scenario whereby my LAN server connects in a dual homed fashion to two different LAN switches from a third party vendor. We are using vrrp for the server LAN. The two 3rd party vendor switches are uplinked via L3 links to two c6500. We are tracking the uplink interfaces under vrrp such that no traffic blackholing occurs if the uplink connectivity from master is broken. Now customer has asked to use bfd support in the vrrp uplink interface tracking which is supported by the vendor switches. This topic is confusing to me as what configuration would be required on c6500 to achieve this as the requirement is not to configure bfd for routing protocol but for vrrp interface tracking. As per my understanding BFD works only in integration with routing protocols and there would be no session formed by just enabling BFD under Interface Config. If anyone has any prior experience with implementing such setup please guide me on what needs to be done from c6500 side to achieve this. We are using static routes on c6500 for server LAN reachability and default route on vendor switches towards junos but no bfd for static routing.
    Regards Varma

    Hi Varma,
    your understanding is correct, initially we were supporting BFD in conjunction with BGP/IGPs. Nowadays there's BFD support for VRRP in IOS XR and BFD support for HSRP in IOS. Since you're in multivendor environment, I don't think these options are feasible. You may instead apply subsecond hello timers in VRRP, provided you don't have lots of instances, you should not face a performance burden.
    HTH,
    Ivan.

  • Unicode Support for PDA

    We are trying to Localize PDA using J2ME toolkit. Do the PDA's support unicode? Could you help me which models do and which don't? Is is possible to install Unicode fonts in a PDA device? Any tutorials would be praised. We have various emulators including Palm OS emulator.

  • Accented Characters Support for External Text Files

    Hi there! I created a site which imports external text from a

  • Unicode support for ServletRequest

    Hi everyone,
    I am hoping that weblogic 6 will support Non-ASCII character encodings for http request parameter values. Has anyone heard any news about it lately ?
    The problem with previous versions (4.5.1 and 5.1.0) was tat ServletRequest.getParameter() method always returns String encoded in ISO-8859-1. (I believe this is a known problem at weblogic)
    To work around the problem, we either had to perform string-conversion, or read the request content manually using BufferedReader (this is not an option when parameter is passed in query string).
    These work-around are not acceptable because they depends on the encoding that clients use (which we never know absolutely), and depends on the jsp / servlet containers.
    Yoshi

    Even I am having the exact same problem. Please help.

    Hi,
    In WLS510-sp8, the new property is called weblogic.httpd.inputCharset and I put the following line in the file weblogic.properties :
    weblogic.httpd.inputCharset./*=Big5
    Then, you don't need to add the charset-conversion logic to your request.getParameter() function call.
    Well, my application setup is that. My application is running on Solaris7 (default charset is ASCII) and I code everything in request.getParameter() only, without any charset-conversion. Then, the phase 2 is to support Chinese and hence problem comes. I need to add the conversion logic to my code, but sp8 feature can save me a lot of time.
    But, when I get the data from Oracle, since there is no such "outputCharset" and hence I get the ascii code of the chinese code instead. Then, all of the content in the page are "ascii-code" things, not real Chinese characters.
    Any advice to set the property? At least, set the default charset of the Weblogic server/jvm as "Big5" and save me a lot of work on adding the charset conversion logic to my jsp/java code.
    Please advise.
    Cheers,
    Frank

  • Feature Request: support for Word's Track Changes feature

    I love the iPad and Pages lets my wife and I use it to some extent for our jobs. However, the most useful feature for me in a document reader/creator would be the ability to track changes and have it be compatible with Word. I am a college professor, and I use this feature almost daily when grading student papers. If this were available on the iPad version of Pages, I could truly leave the laptop at home.

    Why would it need to be compatible with Word? Why not use Pages' Track Changes feature and print the final version, with the comments and markup visible, to PDF? This is what I do. And it works just fine. I get a student once in a while who doesn't have Adobe Reader installed, but I have a FAQ item for that in the online course shell.

  • Adobe Illustrator CS6 MENA (Middle East North African) version with support for Hebrew text

    Hello, I have a questions. I work for Kao USA. Currently a number of of our employees have Adobe Illustrator CS6 (all Licensed). How would we go about getting the Adobe Illustrator CS6 MENA (Middle East North African) version for Mac machines? Also, would this be included within the same license or would it require us to purchase new licenses altogether? Thanks

    In CS 6 this is stille a separate software.
    You better take the international CC, than you have the languages to.

  • MII 12.1 Support for plain text (text/plain) output

    I'm hoping someone can guide me on how to output plain text from an MII 12.1 transaction
    I have three MII systems to test against: MII 11.5.6 b73, MII 12.0.6 build 15, and MII 12.1.5 build 85
    Here's the test files I used on all three systems...
    1) Create a new MII transaction
    2) Create a new Transaction parameter called "Output" of type string and set the value to "Hello World"
    3) Save the transaction anywhere as "HelloWorld"
    4) Create a new Xacute Query and point it to the "HellowWorld" transaction
    5) Map the output parameter to "Output"
    6) Save the Xacute Query as "HelloWorldQuery"
    Scenario - Execute an MII Transaction via URL
    1)Open a new browser window
    2) Type in the following URL (replacing the bracketed params):
    http://[[SERVER]]:[[PORT]]/XMII/Runner?Transaction=[[PATH_TO_HELLOWORLD]]&OutputParameter=Output&Content-Type=text/plain (12.x,12.1)
    or
    http://[[SERVER]]/Lighthammer/Runner.jsp?Transaction=[[PATH_TO_HELLOWORLD]]&OutputParameter=Output&Content-Type=text/plain (11.5)
    3) Both MII 11.5 and MII 12.0 will output the "Hello World" string (no XML). MII 12.1 will return the Output in XML format (text/xml).
    Thanks in advance!

    Create transaction with a SAP MII Document output, where you have inserted the text as a SAP MII message. The output will be in the form:
    <Rowsets><Messages><message>text to output</message></Messages></Rowsets>
    Insert the transaction into a XAcuteQuery
    Create a stylesheet which only output is the message node in the output from the transaction
    <xsl:output method="text" encoding="UTF-8" />
    <xsl:template match="/Rowsets/Messages/Message">
    <xsl:value-of select="." />
    </xsl:template>
    Run the query from the url:
    "http://SERVER:PORT/XMII/Illuminator?QueryTemplate=QUERYTEMPLATE&Stylesheet=STYLESHEET"

    Can Apple comment on their lack of support for burning CD-TEXT?
    I've been getting the runaround from the support people. They said to resolve my issue check out the following kb articles. The articles were aimed at giving me more information about ID3 tags and formats that I care about. I just want my burnt cd's to work in my CD-TEXT capable cd player.
    I've done this using alternate software packages so I know my hardware supports it. I'm really looking for a complete solution for myself (techie) and my wife (non-Techie) to use and make us both happy. I have to admit, this really bothers me.
    I know I'm not the only person asking about this. Please add the support for CD-TEXT to I-Tunes.
