Unknown Apple ID appears on device(s)

Everytime I restore my phone this random same email contuinues to pop up. I don't know if its come soft of software, or account corruption issues but it is wierd. The email that pops up for a Apple ID is [email protected]" then it asks for the password as it usally does with my ID....... No matter which computer I am restoring this email is coming up on my devices including my new 4S that I got a few days ago. Any one ever experience this issue? Please Help...

Your Mac, OS X and the iLife apps are registered to the Apple ID of the original owner. You need to have the original owner call Apple Care and have the Mac release from their Apple ID. Then you need to use OS X Recovery to erase the Mac, and do a new install of OS X and the iLife apps. Afterward you can accept the iLife apps into your Mac App Store account.
AFA the advice to buy the iLife apps with your own account. You will likely find that isn't possible on this Mac. At least not until Apple releases a new major paid upgrade of the iLife apps.

  • Unknown Apple ID Appears When Connecting Remotely

    Background:
I often have a devil of a time remotely connecting my home iMac and my work iMac.
Both run up-to-date Yosemite.  Both have Remte Desktop installed.
I often turn to LogMeIn Pro to make the connection (works every time), but I also just want the simplicity of clicking on my remote iMac in Finder and linking the two Macs.
    Issue:
Today I was using LogMeIn to view my work iMac (screen sharing) and using the remote iMac I decided to see if I could connect to my home iMac.
I could see the home iMac in my Finder window under "Shared", clicked the home iMac and chose "Connect as" as my option.
That opened the window where I could chose how I wanted to connect; "Guest", "Registered User", or "Using an Apple ID".
I can't say why, but I elected to try connecting using my Apple ID.  I normally use "Registered User".
An "Apple ID" dropdown gave me the option of choosing my regular Apple ID and another ID that I have never seen before.
Because the unknown ID contained the word "testing" I have a suspicion that it may have belonged to an Apple tech who had done some work on my iMac but his/her ID was never removed from that iMac.
    Question:
Do you have any idea how an Apple ID could have been "planted" on my iMac, and how can that ID be removed?
    Thanks for any advice.

  • IPod appearing in Device Manager as unknown device

Hi, I'm currently using an iPod Nano 4th Gen. and it is appearing in Device Manager as an unknown device. I found this out after the error message "USB device not recognised" or something, and followed instructions. I'm currently clueless on what to do. My OS is Windows 8. When I go into properties of the unknown device (iPod) the device status is: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). And in details, I get: USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE
If you need any more information to help me, please do not hesitate to request it. I just really would like this issue to be solved. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the update, passionflower
I think next would be a good idea to shutdown the computer, and disconnect everything from it. Let it sit for a minute or two, then plug it all back up and turn the computer on, then try again.
Next I would start troubleshooting the USB ports on the computer. I would start with this troubleshooting.
On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
    Double-click the System icon.
    Click the Hardware tab.
    Click Device Manager.
Scroll down the list of devices to the Universal Serial Bus controllers
Click the plus icon next to the Universal Serial Bus controllers.
Double-click one of the indented USB Root Hub entries.
    Click the Power Management tab.
Deselect the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option.
Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
    Restart the computer.
From: iPod not recognized when connected to Windows laptop over USB
              http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1401
    And then this troubleshooting
Plug the device directly into a high-power USB 2.0 port on the computer. If possible, use a USB port on the back of the computer.
Avoid plugging the device into a keyboard, display, or standalone hub. The USB ports on these accessories may be low-power or only offer USB 1.x connections.
If you are using an accessory, remove the accessory and connect the device to the computer using only the Apple 30-pin to USB Cable or Lightning to USB Cable.
If you have access to additional Apple 30-pin to USB Cable or Lightning to USB Cables, try testing with another if the first one doesn't work.
Restart your computer and device. To restart your device:
Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the Sleep/Wake button to turn it back on.
Disconnect all USB devices from your computer, except for your keyboard and mouse. Then reconnect the iOS device. If the issue is resolved, reconnect other USB devices, testing after each connection.
    From: iOS: Troubleshooting USB connection
              http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1286
If you have another computer you can also test the iPod Nano there to help isolate whether the issue is with the iPod or the computer.
And just in case the issue is still not resolved, I want to thank you for using the Apple Support Community. Due to the nature of your issue you may find more information by using another one of Apple's support resources - https://expresslane.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action.
    All the very best,

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Navigate to Settings > Computers > Your Library on the Apple TV, you may be told you will lose all synced content, but you can't doing anything abouty this, you won't lose any purchased content that has yet to be transferred. Then select Settings > Computers > Connect To iTunes, note the passcode that appears on screen, click on the device in iTunes and enter the passcode when prompted.

  • HT3965 I got what appears to be a reconditioned (pre-owned) iPod Touch 4 for Christmas.  How can I change the Apple ID on tis device so I can use it with my iTunes Acct and Wi-Fi network?  Thanks.

I received what appears to be a reconditioned iPod Touch 4th for Christmas.  How do I change the Apple ID on the device to my ID so I can use my iTunes account?  Thanks for any help/

It would probably be best to attach the iPod to a computer and restore it. This way you'll know it's wiped clean. Then, when you start up the iPod it will ask you for your Apple ID.

  • My apple tv gen 1 no longer appears in Devices on itunes.  Any ideas?

My apple tv gen 1 will longer appears in Devices in itunes and therefore can't synch.  Any ideas?  My ATV1 software is up to date, it connects to the Internet, my laptop iTunes is 11.1.3.8, connects to the internet.  Both connect my WiFi.  Since it stopped showing up in Devices, I reset my Apple TV 1 to original factory settings and updated its software.  Still does not appear.  I tried different laptops, all with the 11.1 version of iTunes.  Any suggestions?

  • My hard drive crashed on my apple computer recently. I have a new one, but it won't sync with apple tv1, and I want to retrieve my photos from teh appletv1. It appears in devices now, but won't let me go any further with it. Help

The hard drive crashed on my apple computer and I lost a lot of photos. I want to recover them from my apple tv1, but the computer won't seem to pair up with the apple tv. The Apple tv does appear in devices, but it won't let me go any further. The 'apply' button is a pale grey colour and you can't click on it. Help!!

there is no facility to recover your photos from the appletv.
the only way to link the appletv to your new "system" is to remove the existing itunes link and then link it to the new itunes - this will delete all content from the appletv though.

If it is a version 2 ATV, it will not appear in iTunes except where you can select it for Airplay. With the new ATV2, you go in the opposite direction (ATV2 to iTunes) after you have enabled sharing. The ATV1 could both store (sync) and/or stream content. The new one cannot. The ATV2 will appear as an AirPlay device in iTunes and in the iPod and Video areas on an iPhone, iPad, etc.
If your ATV is a version 1, you will have to reset it and go through the setup process using iTunes....

  • Apple TV no longer appears in devices list

    Hey all:
I'm having a very frustrating problem with ATV and iTunes. I can no longer see the Apple TV in the devices list. Now, I know that there are two Apple Support KB documents that cover this issue. I've already gone through everything in those. I've reset the Apple TV back to factory defaults. I told iTunes to 'forget' the Apple TV. I have attempted to reconnect the Apple TV all to no avail. I even uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it thinking that all of the plist files would be deleted because I use the Hazel app's App Cleaner function to get rid of the plist. The plists were all deleted as I expected them to be.
As a control, I attempted to have my partner's Macbook sync with the Apple TV. That worked just fine. iTunes on her machine shows the ATV and synching worked perfectly. I quit the sync told her machine to 'forget' about the ATV and then restarted iTunes on my machine. Still no joy. What's even more bizarre is that I can stream from iTunes to the ATV so it's not a network problem. (Plus I can see everything else on the network. My partner's Macbook can see my iTunes library and I can see hers so it's not a sharing issue.)
This leads me to believe that somewhere there is some plist or xml file that controls what iTunes 'knows' about the Apple TV. Does anyone have an idea what file that might be and if it is a plist, what needs to be edited or what file needs to be deleted so iTunes will think that the ATV is brand new?
I want to reiterate that I've already reset the ATV to factory defaults (three times) and told iTunes to stop synching to the ATV as well so it's not something I haven't done. I searched through ~/Library and the system Library locations and didn't see anything that was obviously to do with ATV and iTunes. Any assistance would be appreciated. I've troubleshot this as far as I can go.

No, I don't have Netbarrier X. Ironically, I uninstalled Intego Virus Barrier X6 thinking that might be the problem but it isn't. There's currently no software firewall running on the system at all. The one thing I've been able to discern, so far, is that my partner's Macbook can connect and sync to the ATV and the only difference is that she didn't download the latest security patch (2010-001) that came out on Tuesday and I did. I've let Apple Support know but their response was "we haven't heard anything about this". However, since that is the only significant difference between our two machines and hers can connect at this point I'm presuming that's the issue.

  • I can't get my iphone to appear under devices in itunes and i have followed the directions and support provided by apple-any suggestions?

I can't get my iphone to appear under devices within itunes, my iphone appears as my ipod under devices therefore I am unable to sync my music etc onto my iphone. any suggestions???

iPhone 4S and Windows XP the first thing that jumps to mind is that the iPhone 4S needs a USB 2.0 connection to sync with iTunes. Check your computers user guide to see if the PC has a compatable USB 2.0 input.

  • D-Link DSL-G624T firmware update has resolved ATV not appearing in Devices

I have managed to resolve the issue that many people seem to have regarding ATV not appearing in Devices by upgrading my D-Link ADSL router's firmware. If you are tearing your hair out and have the same model as me then I suggest you visit the D-Link site and try the latest update entitled V3.00B01T02.UK-A.20060621. I am no expert but wonder whether many of the stated issues relate to compatibility with router firmware and if so it may be worth updating it whatever your brand.

    HI WC,
I expected for you to the the 1st one taking a stab at this thanks for the help!
As I verified your question I looked at the clients connected to both the NG router and this is what the router is giving me. And of course the SNM is the same across the board.

  • IPad 3 cannot be synced to iMac but appears in devices

Tonight I have been unable to sync my iPad3 with my iMac (iTunes) either by Wi-Fi or using the usb cable.
Initially I got a window saying  the iPad cannot be synced as an unknown error occurred (1156) and as result
I've  done a complete restore from a backup  on the iMac.
The iPad appears in the devices list and you can view the summary, info, music etc. but when ever I select
"apps" i get a popup saying the iPad cannot be found on the network and the iPad disappears from the list of
    devices.
Before tonight I have always been able to sync without any problems
    Anyone have any ideas?

I don't know if you tried this already ,... Quit iTunes, reboot the iPad and restart the Mac.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
I run into this issue every now and then and restarting and rebooting always works for me. You may want to even restart your router as well.
