Unknown event - programs in daemon mode cant access resources.

Hi Guys. First of all Im not keen on os stuff, thus not sure what I should look for to solve my problem, Thats why Im posting before getting deeper into forums.
Here is my problem. Im working on academic network - Solaris 7-10. Where parts of configuration is made by students (Im still one). Problem is that recently someone created hardening scripts (this is my first point of createing this failure). Im not sure what was modified but:
WHen I run programs in terminal eveything is fine - program can run as root or other special user (like mysql). Problem arrises when it is run in daemon mode.
Snort doesnt read anything from interfaces - or doesnt dump anything to mysql, ntop cant generate gui, tcptrack doesnt write anything to log files.
Furthermore IPSec doesnt forbids sending packets - configuration is read it is validated, but when I start IPSec no packet is sent to second host which is defined as destination in SA.
Has anyone had such experience?
Or does someone know what should I look for in configuration?
(I have this problem on solaris 9 and 10, however no native program - that was in distribution has this problem while running)

It appears that your files from the other Mac were transfered as an intact User Account. You can try following the instructions below to see if you can remove the User Account, but save the files and access them. These instructions are from Mac Help in the Help menu of the Finder.
Deleting a user account
If you are an administrator for your computer, you can delete user accounts on your computer that are no longer needed.
When you delete a user account, you can choose to save the user's files or delete them.
IMPORTANT: If the user's account is encrypted (FileVault is turned on), turn FileVault off for the user before you delete the account.
1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Accounts.
2. If some settings are dimmed, click the lock icon and type an administrator name and password.
3. Select the user account you want to delete, then click Delete .
4. Click OK to save the user's files on the computer, or click Delete Immediately to remove the user account and all the user's files.
If you saved the user's files, they are stored in a disk image in the Deleted Users folder, which is in the Users folder on your Mac OS X disk. To see the saved files, double-click the disk image in the Deleted Users folder. You can drag the disk image to the Trash to delete the files.

After Installing Oracle Virtual Box and changing the network adapter to bridged mode cant access my server

Hi ,
I have installed Oracle Virtual box on windows server 2008 r2 hosted on 1und1.de.
Till installtion and setting up untun on virtualbox it was fine, but once i changed the adapater to bridged mode. I immediatly lost connectivity with my server and now cant access.
It is now 2 days i cant access my server and neither ping it, also the website hosted on it is also down.
The 1und1 has following 2 options
1) using putty i can connect to server command prompt using administrator but cant run any gui application
2) Server Rescue mode: where i get special environment to start, stop services, access registry and command prompt.
Till now i have tried lot of setting to enable network connectivity but not able to success

Hi,
According to the result of "ipconfig /all", the physical adapter dosen't appear.
Please check if the physical network adapter works properly. We can verify this in Device Manager.
To open Device Manager by using the Windows interface
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Click Hardware and Sound.
Click Device Manager.
If the network adapter is working properly, please make sure that the Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) has been checked in the properties of the physical network adapter.
If issue persists, please try to uninstall the Oracle Virtual box.

Project Online - offline project plan prompts for date range to be entered when accessing Resource Usage view

When I save a project plan to my local computer from Project Online and open it up in an offline mode and access Resource Usage view I get prompted with Date Range dialog boxes with the first one saying "Show resources/assignments that start or finish
after:" and the second one with "And before:".
I don't have any filters that are setup in Project Online that are not available in offline mode to trigger these prompts.
Please let me know what could be causing the date range prompts. Thanks.

You probably retrieve an enterprise filter into your local file. Just open the organizer from MS Project, go to the filter tab (be sure to have your project selected in the drop down menu at the top left of right of the organizer) and delete the date range
filter.

When i install itunes it keeps saying repair program and i cant access store

I keep reinstalling itunes and before I do I delete all apple software that's installed in my Sony laptop by the way I also got windows Vista..
And whe I reinstall itunes it won't let me access the store? Also when I go to programs it says repair for all my programs I have itunes, quicktime, apple software update, apple mobile device support and safari all these programs say repair in my programs and features. So im guessing this has something to do with the reason why i cant access the store.. I tried turning off my firewall and anti virus before i downloaded itunes and everything??
I had this problem before all i did was uninstall the programs all of apple programs and then reinstalled itunes and it worked fine now this time it wont work i can add songs to itunes eveything but cant access the store and like i said all my programs say repair.

Open a Windows Command prompt, e.g. Hit Start > Run, type in CMD and press OK. Type in SUBST F C:\<enter>
This will map F: to C: until the machine is restarted or you enter
SUBST F: /D at the command prompt. Now you can try uninstalling or upgrading the software again. (If upgrading the software, install the software in the default location, not on the F:\ drive.)

Cant access help in FTP program

I have installed FTP client Commander Pro, cant access their help for this program, because it was created in Windows help format which depends on a feature that is not included in Windows 8.1 pro. so I am unable to move the FTP client

If some people cant help I'll really appreciate.

What I did was a hard reset... (hold reset for 10 or 30 seconds then while holding, unplug unit then release reset button. After 10 more seconds, plug unit back in.)
Between that and using the TFTP program, I was able to get back into my management screen. You will have to reconfigure your router after that. Be sure, if you have a dedicated ip on your computer, you temporarily set it to obtain everything automatically incase your set ip doesnt correspond to the default settings for your router. Then once everything is back up, you can change you ip settings on your PC back to what you had, if any.

Hi,
We have had the same problem in a non-express application
with a heavy server partition. In our case, the error was not
systematic, depending on the server workload at the time we
tried to partition and run.
The work-around we're using is to put the -fm flags (increasing the x
parameter to say 30000) in the 'server arguments' of your server
partition
properties in the partition workshop. Note that if your server is a Unix
platform,
you need to put double-quotes before and after the parenthesis in the -fm
syntax.

I'm guessing you forgot to grant ASDM (http/https) access to the IP addresses used by the VPN? Can you SSH? If not, that is your problem to solve first.

okay the exact message is" Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Forefox 4.0 Beta 1\firefox.exe'. make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.
Nothing happens after i install is the "Launch Firefox now" checkbox set, the same message comes up.

Can you walk us through what happens when you try to connect to the Store, please?

Since i up graded to itunes 10.5.2 i cannot access itunes store fully ,i have apple mobile device exe eating my cpu at 97% and now i tried to sync my ipod and it said that i needed to restore my ipod ,this i did and now i cant access my ipod library

this has got ridiculous now i cant access itunes tore,my ipod says there is no music on it even though i watched it sync nearly 5000 tunes and the program apple mobile device exe eats my cpu at 97% it slows my computer to a crawl should have had the courage of my convictions and stuck to itunes version9 at least that worked.tried resetting netsh winsock,flushing my dns all not worked.this has to be sorted out...and quick

I have tried and confimed that you can download the previous version from some web-site about the version 10.5.1.42.
Remove/un-install 10.5.2.11 and restart your computer.
Install the old version 10.5.1.42
and then you can find the "Devices" on the left column and showing synchronizing when you connect the cable.

I cant access my application control in user management cosole( shared svcs

Hi all.. A bit confused....... I just migrated users and groups to Shared Services.......from essbase adminstration server and essbase server.....While migrating to shared services I created a password ( lets assume 'yyyyy') for Essbase Administration Server and Essbase Server.. Well I dont have much more users... the only user for EAS server is default one which is username/password ='admin/password'. For Essbase Server username/password=xxxxxx/xxxxxxx. But after migrating users and groups to shared services mode when I tried to login with these passwords Iam unable to login....... Then I tried to login with my old username/password..... it was successfull..
The problem is when Iam trying to assign access control to application in "user management cosole"....... it is showing the error" login failed due to invalid login credentials". And also I cant access Business Rules it is throwing the error"Refer to security guide to configure security permission for this application"...........?
Any Idea....... What should do ?

I did as you said but still no hope... I think Iam making a mistake at some point.... But I dont know what is it.
The Sequence what I did was
1.Started the Essbase Server (with old username/password....as it shows only one user name while it starts).
2.Started the Essbase Administrative Server.
3.Start the EAS console...... with the old username/password=admin/password.
4.In the enterprise view I right click on the Administrative server>Externalise users> But it says "There are no users available for migration". So it seems my EAS server security has been converted to Shared Services security mode..So where can i use my new password when I created while migrating to shared services? and what is the username is it admin or some other?
5.In the enterprise view I right clicked on the essbase server. I removed the current Essbase Server. Then I tried to add Essbase Server.. Here I can see the checkbox for "Use External Authentication". So it means my essbase server has been externalised.. Well Here is the problem..When the check box is enabled it shows only username that is admin.....and password field is not highlighted.. When I click these it says" Login fails due to invalid credentials"....But I can log in (Add Esbase Server) with uncheck the "use external authentication" check box and entered the details of my old username and NEW PASSWORD which is created while migrating ESSBASE SERVER to Shared Services... then it works..........
After these prolonged process also I cant go with access control option for applications in User Managemnet Console...........
