Unsolicited messages in j2ee
Is there any way of sending unsolicited messages from the server side in a J2EE application.
I am writing an application that needs to be able to send a message to one or more client programs, at some point not controlled by any one client.

The short answer is: No. The essential nature of the client/server relationship is request-response. The server sits passively listening to a port. The client initiates a request, the server responds to the request. After the repsonse, there is no active communication relationship. That's the stateless nature of the beast. Even protocols like ftp, which keep a connection open for a whole session until it is explicitly closed, must be initiated from an active client side to a passive server side.
How does the server even know which clients are "out there"?
A longer answer would describe the various ways people have devised to simulate a "full duplex" connection layered over the request/response model. One of the most common is for an active client to "check-in" or "poll" the server on a periodic basis, even if it doesn't have any business to transact. Each "check-in" request provides an opportunity for the server to respond with a substantive message -- essentially a "request" from the server.

I have had a portal training last year and to that time it was not possible in Portal 7.0 (don't know which stack) to put in a system message in the Java system.
SAP recommended to write an iview which is placed on the top of the screen so that every user can see it.
I do not know if this is now possible with a newer stack but I think this is already developed by someone and if you have some java or/and iview know-how this shouldn't be a big issue.

I received an unsolicited message from a phone number. I deleted it.
A second copy arrived and I deleted that too.
The message says send STOP as a reply and it will be stopped but the web says this is a way to give the sender access to your account and they will charge you £3 every time.
Did i do right to delete it?
How can I block a number? The system on my iPhone iiOS 8 and Mac Yosemite will not allow it.
How can I change my status (as I do on Skype) to stop these messages safely?

If on your webpage you have some buttons that runs at server, the server can create a web Client and using your IP address retrieved from the cession, communicate with your application (that will act as web Server).
then the web client on the web server can send request to your VB application and read a stream as response.
This web client being control by the buttons on the web page, gives you complete control over what and when the data is sent
This way you will have a complete control over the VB application from the web page.
I am not saying that the way you want to do it cannot work, ... but it seems more complicated -
Intrusive Unsolicited Messages from eBilling
I am a member of a Yahoo User group, (Westlakes Recyclers), and my account there is hooked to a virgin.net email (ie nothing to do with BT).
Recently, I sent a routine email to the Moderators of the Group.
Within a few hours I had received a totally unsolicited email from [email protected]
The subject field contents were:
#TAG# [westlakesrecyclers] TAKEN -WHITEHAVEN- Asthma Peak Flow Charts [Incident:100505-xxxxxx]
The main text said it was an automated response, thanked me for contacting them (!!), said my enquiry had been given number....... and "dont reply to this message".
I used to be plagued by this same d****d problem every time I contacted Westlakes Recyclers. Ringing BT resulted in standard buck-passing and non-ownership of the problem. Rather than age prematurely, I eventually gave up, cursing BT.
The problem magically cleared up when a BT customer satisfaction survey was emailed to me and I complained bitterly about it.
And now its started again. Any information and/or help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Dave. Sorry, I'm not BT support - so have no idea about the details. You might want to edit your post to remove your details though .....
I agree, typically spammers in moderated groups are easily dealt with and shouldn't specifically cause an email problem. They usually manage to post a message and try to get people to "buy" items etc, but should get found out and hence banned access from their login details - though a new one is easy to add of course.
I would expect BT won't supply the headers of their received email for security reasons for them to be honest. I expect the #tag# details etc are as Stephanie indicated - the subject is altered so that any future correspondence can be referred to these extra details for a specific user. They probably also have message interrogation rules to move received emails of this type into certain mail queues.
To be frank, it almost looks like the recyclers moderators have passed your post onto BT for some reason or other, maybe a spammer was somehow involved with the article and the mods gave all the details to BT including your details (probably by mistake).
I feel that the recycle mods need to be more forthcoming with extra details. It seems to be they have contacted BT, though why eBilling have got it is a complete mystery - unless the moderator email addresses themselves have been hacked and used by spammers/hackers.
The mail headers to BT should give extra clues, but I don't expect you'll see them as I've alredy mentioned.

Design question for typical Message Based J2EE Apps
We�re building a request/response (synchronous) messaging using MDBs and trying to figure out the �blue print� best practice for all components needed. Please let me know if any of the components below seem suspect, and whether I need to add/remove additional ones.
MDBs: Consume MQ and JMS messages and start a Transaction
Message Request Handlers: are created by MDBs . Receive messages in XML format, use utilities to perform XML marshalling and unmarshalling with Value Objects.

DAO Layer: Data Access for CRUD operations

There are 3 DAO objects and more need to be added now. The user object will need data from all of them. The JSP's access this data directly. It's needed for security and location roles to determine access to functions and data within the app. The user has groups and these groups have security roles and locations that are separate and yet combine to give individual user access and admin rights. The key is that individual groups have separate data relevant to that group as a module that can be modified, added or removed and yet still combines with other groups data to give a total array of values for the individual user. I'm thinking the nature of the nested objects may require inner classes and/or a decorator pattern, but I'm still thinking though it.

How can I stop getting unsolicited **** messages in iMessage
As the title states I need to stop getting **** messages in iMessage on my phone. I can tell because they start with a number like 906.xx, not a phone number.
This may not be possible to stop but catch before I open
Has anyone else run into this issue and if so what have you don't to attempt to stop it.at the top page of Messages on my phone there is no color code, it's all just grey text, I do not click open the message, I swipe left and delete but this has happened several times this month.
I done not visit those types of sights on my phone or my MBP
It's been suggested that there is a robot dialing random numbers, but to get three in a month make me wonder.

After installing security update 10.6.8 last night I've seen dialog boxes asking me if I will allow incoming network connections to certain root processes, e.g. configd. I didn't see these dialog boxes prior to installing 10.6.8. How do I make informed decisions? In other words,
(1) Where can I find 25-word summary descriptions of these processes?
(2) Where can I find discussions of the consequences of granting or denying these requests?
Alternatively (and at some risk of revealing metaphysical doubt) why am I being asked for these permissions? And who expects me to make correct decisions?

I've solved the problem. I think while doing kernel or component upgrade SAP clear all configuration that connected from ABAP and JAVA. You can re-config from config tool.
1. Goto \usr\sap\<SID>\<SIst.Num>\j2ee\configtool and execute go.bat
2. cluster-data -> global server configuration -> services -> com.sap.security.core.ume.service.
3. Configure:
ume.login.guest_user.uniquefields with J2EE_GUEST, and make sure the user is already exist in ABAP
ume.persistence.data_source_configuration dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml
ume.r3.connection.master.ashost
ume.r3.connection.master.client
ume.r3.connection.master.passwd : with SAPJSF user's password
ume.r3.connection.master.sysnr
ume.r3.connection.master.user : SAPJSF User

Transaction RSPLAN don't work because of J2EE engine not found
Hi,
I install successfully the new version.
I have some problems when i launch RSPLAN. The message "The J2EE is not found" appears. The browser is not launched.
When i go to the RSPLSA transaction, and i try to change the option from "Bex Portal Server "to - Free URL Prefix" and i insert: http://localhost:8000 - it does not ok too.
Can you help me?

the transaction RSPLAN start the BI Integrated Planning. This application run only with the Java-Stack.
I think you have install the SAP NetWeaver 7.01 - ABAP Trial Version that only include the ABAP-Stack. If you intreset in SEM-BPS you can try "BPS0" - Planning Workbench for BW BPS this Applilcation based on the ABAP-Stack.

Problem in Configuration of J2EE Engine
Hi All!
I want to run a program I' ve made but I can't. When I try to run it I get the following message:
"The J2EE Server name and port number are not configured correctly. Check your settings under 'Preferences>>SAP J2EE Engine'."
When I go to the settings I write on Message Server Host : "localhost" and on the Message Server Port "8080".
Does somebody know how to fix this?

Ask your admin Message Server Host and give that And Message servert port number is you can give 3601.
Then u can go window-showView - j2eeengine then there displayed the J2ee engine nodes there all three nodes are colored green then the server is UP otherwise ask your admin up the server.
Then you can deploy ur applcaition in J2ee engine,

Hi All,
I am doing a RFC-File Schenario.
I had done all the configuration. I am triggering the RFC thru a ABAP Report. The first time i ran the report i could see the message generated in XI(SXI_MONITOR).
But in the payload i can see nothing. Do i need to do add any parameters in INtegration Engine Configuration so enable message logging.
When i try to see the message through Message Monitoring in Browser..it says <b>"Content of message deleted to save memory"</b>,
Moreover in message monitoring(J2EE stack)as in when i see through browser theres one message with the status
<b>To Be Delivered</b>.
So when i again run the abap report to send data. I cannot see any message in SXI_MONITOR.
Like we have in BPM the tcode SWWL, Is there in transaction code for RFC which will rescue us from the same.

Once again: j2ee server doesn't start :(
after installation it worked just perfect. yesterday something happened, no idea what, and now it doesn't want to start anymore.
it says: "Unable to create ORB. Possible causes include TCP/IP ports in use by another process". Well i tried to change it to 1049, 1051, 10590 and so on. No result: it doesn't like any other ports as well :(
did anybody had such a problem or has any idea what could it be?

Error executing J2EE server ...I had the same problem, and this hint solved it.
I changed the port number in setenv.bat.

This error occurs when another process is already using the 1050 listen port. You can either shut down the other process or change the port number assigned to J2EE Reference Implementation 1.3.1 to something other than 1050, for example, 11050. This error can also occur if the 1060 listen port is in use, even if the 1050 port is not in use. Do the following to correct the problem:
Determine whether the 1050 port is in use, the 1060 port is in use, or both are in use.
Change whichever is in use. To change the 1050 port assignment, you must modify the $J2EE_HOME\config\orb.properties file.To change the 1060 port assignment, use a text editor to modify the $J2EE_HOME\setenv.bat (for Microsoft Windows systems), or $J2EE_HOME/setenv.sh file (for Solaris or Red Hat Linux environments). -
We've created communication server using java nio socket where you can create clients of any language using socket to communicate to the server(java nio) application we made. The communication server can handle thousands of concurrent connected clients.
My question is, is there a better way to create a communication server in J2EE that can handle thousands of concurrent connections?
If there is, is there any advantage in doing so in terms of speed, scalability and functionality?
Thanks in advance.georgemc is right. J2EE server can run on same JRE. However, some J2EE server will modifiy(or fine tune) the JRE for performance. Weblogic is one of the examples.
I think a install package include everything may scare a beginner in Java. The J2EE server can increase the load of the OS.
If you do not have the knowledge of J2EE, the error message of J2EE server(J2EE error+J2SE error) seems to be more difficult than the error come from J2SE. -
