Unsupported script object error

I haven't been able to play any of my games today. They keep telling me I need to update my flash player, but my Windows 8 does it automatically. Sometimes they tell me I need to enable Flash, but it is already enabled. I use IE 10, but I also tried Firefox and Chrome browsers. I also re-booted my PC to no avail. I tried deleting history and allowed all add-ons. I now get a Java script object error. My Active X is disabled and my Shockwave object flash player is enabled. Can you walk me through all my settings and fix this issue?

Javascript errors are usually caused by the website offering Flash content.
Different browsers use different Javascript engines. Do you get the same errors when using Firefox or Chrome?

I get much the same problem with VB6, Acrobat 9 Pro and WinXP SP3. When I single step the line:
oJSO.Collab.showAnnotToolsWhenNoCollab = True
in debug I go to the error handler for my Sub. Inspecting the VB Err object has Number = -2147417851 and Description = "Automation error
The server threw an exception." I get a Microsoft crash notice about Acrobat a short while later.
I've experimented with the JavaScript debugger in Acrobat and you can execute Collab.showAnnotToolsWhenNoCollab = True and reference the value of Collab.showAnnotToolsWhenNoCollab in the console. The problem appears only when accessing Acrobat Javascript through the Interapplication Communication API.
If anyone can help it would be appreciated. I tried Adobe's Acrobat support and they were no help at all.

The eig() instruction in my matlab script is causing an insane object error

I have matlab script in a vi that I want to use to calculate eigenvectors and eigenvalues of a large array. I started with a small array (3x3)and it calculated them incorrectly. However when i ran the same script in Matlab the correct values are returned. On top of that when I try and save the vi after running it I get an insane object error at FPHP+DC. I tried rewriting the vi without copying and pasting etc. but it wont go away. I then simplified the vi to simple integer addition and removed the eig()instruction and error doesn't appear anymore, so it seems that the eig() instruction is causing all of this and it isn't even giving the correct answers! Where does this leave me? I can't get the e
igenvectors using the Labview vi because the array i will using eventually is (944x944) and the labview vi gives me an error saying I have exceeded maximum iterations. This is why I am using Matlab in the first place.

I had a similar error message come up in the jump from LV 7.1 to LV 8.0. It would cause a couple of hard crashes of Labview whenever I worked with one particular VI. I found it was related to a wizard lock control that I had created in LV7.1 using the HMI Wizard options of my DSC module. I actually had two such loops in my original program, one behaved, the other caused problems in the upgrade of the VI to LV 8.0.
I discovered this by creating multiple copies of the VI in LV 7.1 and deleting different block diagram elements from each and seeing which opened without error in 8.0 and which caused the problem until I finally discovered the problem piece of code. It was really a divide and conquer technique.
I liked how LV 7.1 HMI wizard automatically created code that I could unlock and modify as I needed. It seems that the HMI wizard was eliminated from the DSC module of LV 8.0 and 8.2. There were several other major changes in the behavior of the DSC module from 7.1 to 8.0 which I am still trying to learn.
If you can discover which control or what piece of code (hopefully it is only one) is causing the problem, perhaps you can delete it in the older file version, upgrade the VI, then recreate it in the newer version VI.

This is usually caused by an extension that is using a name for a variable or function that has become a reserved variable name and thus can't be used anymore.<br />
You will have to check if there is an update is available for your Firefox 29.0a2 Aurora version.
If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

Functions in script objects not being recognized after certain point

Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone has figured out why after normally about 300-500 lines of JavaScript in a Script Object, sometimes the functions near the end are no longer recognized by the XFA processor when referenced ("TypeError: Scripts.myFunction is not a function").
When reordered, further up the script object, they work as intended. The line at which it no longer recognizes functions also isn't always the same and I have worked with some script objects that have over 800 lines with all the functions still working.
I've tested in Designer 9 and 10, Reader 8 9 and 10.
Please at least let me know I'm not the only one. I knew of one other developer that had come across the same issue.

JSLint didn't find anything but it set me on the path towards looking for syntax errors. I deleted code in the script object line by line until I narrowed it down.
Turns out it is Regular Expression literals, in particular trying to escape (\) the metacharacters ($.{}[] etc).
For example, var reg = /\}/; should technically match any right-handed curly brace, which in fact it does! The function that it is in works perfectly but every function written below it is not recognized by the XFA processor. Just out of curiousity I tried reg = /\{\}/; which matches {} and all the functions below now are recognized. It seams as though, even though using the escape character is allowed in core JavaScript, the processor sees it as a syntax error because it's not terminated.
Anyways, the easy fix is of course using the RegExp constructor var reg = new RegExp("\\}"); but I'll miss the confidence I had using Regular Expression literals.

We are migrating our applications from Windows 2003 to 2008 application server. We have vbs script in a job which is invoked from Tivoli Workload Scheduler (Windows)/JOBLNCH 8.5.1. We are getting the error while creating ADOBD object (Error Number returned:-2147024770).
The error does not occur when we directly run the job on the 2008 server, but only when invoked throught the TWS scheduler. Also, this error is not occurring on 2003 server when run through the TWS.
Here is the code snippet used to create object.

Based on only this error message, there's no way we can tell you how to fix your script.

I’m following lesson 9 from Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
Classroom in a Book which starts with viewing in a browser the
final web page provided on the CD that comes with the book.
The problem is that when I browse that file, IE 7 gives this

I deleted unsupported properties and changed the unsupported
value of hand to default and saved the main.css.
Unfortunately IE still couldn't render the page showing the
same error.
I searched the CSS Advisor web site and even entire Google
but except a few people reporting the same error no solution was
posted.
I also tied to contact the publisher of the book but I didn't
get any replies with solutions yet.
Since this is a learning project I'm trying to prepare myself
for real live scenarios and wonder what experienced users would do
when facing a similar problem if the project was for a client. What
would you do. What is an acceptable practice? If you can't find a
solution what would you say to your clients "well IE 7 can't render
certain things from your page and there is nothing I can do about
it"?

According to your post, my understanding is that you got the 'style is null not an object' error in cmssitemanager.js.
Please make sure you add the Script reference to the Master Page correctly. You can refer to:
SharePoint 2010 Custom Master Page Tips and Tricks -> JavaScript and StyleSheet Reference
Please make sure you use the no conflict JavaScript correctly. You can right after including the library:

Script Objects Disappearing when 2 or more XDP's are stitched together

We use Adobe Form Server.
We would like to use Script Objects in our forms. Unfortunately, when we stitch two or more forms together, only the first script objects [contained in the first form] remain. The other script objects [in each additional form] fall off.
The script objects are unique to the form and are named differently (ie. "GlobalFunctions_8190" vs "GlobalFunctions_200878").
How can we correct this? Is it how the Form Server was set up?
Please help.

Just in playing with it, I added an extra ${endif} at the end of the network section and the error went away. Since I only have one network connection, I don't know if it breaks something else or not.

Calling a Script Object after remove instance index[0]

     I have created a LiveCycle document that has a repeatable subform as url linked below. The form will not let me call a Script Object after removing an instance at index[0]. Regardless of the number of instances remaining. I use a script object to show and hide buttons. Adding an instance is not a problem. What to do?

What seems to happen when you remove a form object that has code that is currently executing is that it can't find the next line. You might want to put all your code in the script object.
so in the click event you have;
SOremove.fxremove(this);
Then your script object will start

How to call a function from a different script object?

Hi All,
Here is the scenario,
I have 2 script objects A and B .
In script object A i have a function called "funcA" and
in script object B i have a function called "funcB"
Now I want to call funcA from funcB which is not happening.
I tried doing
A.funcA();
inside funcB , but not able to access.

Just a guess - try including the root node/node reference above the script object.
form1.A.funcA();
What does the JavaScript Console say when firing the function? Are there any errors?
Your script objects can contain multiple functions. So you could move funcA() and funcB() into the same script object. This will make it easier.

In my subform I click on Insert Script Object and rename it "format". I create two functions :

I copied and pasted your functions and they work for me. If you are runing acrobat you can hit the Ctrl-J key to show a javascript console and see if there is an error generated.

"object reference not set to an instance of an object" error while running ssrs report locally

Hi Folks,
I am a bit new to SSRS.
I am using ssrs 2012 and trying to use a method from a dll file. I am loaded the assembly file in reference of the report.
Now I am trying to use a static method from the Dll. e.g. applicationName.classname.MethodName()
But while running the report I am getting "object reference not set to an instance of an object" error.
For a note I am trying execute the report locally.
Any help would be highly appreciable.

I have added a dll file in my report reference. And in a textbox trying to execute this below.

where Getstring() is a static method in the dll.
I guess some configuration setting I am missing here.
1. I have copied these dlls in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies" and "C:\Windows\Assembly".

Somehow my "IPhoto" icon now says "Preview". When I click on "Preview" nothing opens up except the bar says Preview. When I click on the Preview on the bar, a box opens up with different items, except when I click on any of them, there is nothing there. The only thing that work is the "quit preview". However, it is still there where my IPhoto icon should be. I can't get into my IPhoto. How do I get rid of this "Preview" and how did it end up taking over the IPhoto icon???
If you go to your Applications folder and double click on iPhoto what happen?

Ever since I downloaded FF's v6, everytime I go to YouTube and open a video, I get an error message that says: "[Java Script Application] Error: Div is null" How do I fix this problem?

If I go to YouTube, no matter what video I click on to watch, the error message "[Java Script Application] Error: Div is null" pops up. It started happening right after I updated to FF v6. I also have installed the latest version of Java. I submitted this question a few weeks ago, but never received a reply.
