Unwanted Gap at top of web page

Dreamweaver has created a 15px gap between the top of my web
page and the toolbars, in the design view this is shown by a grey
bar with diagonal stripes, in a browser the background shows
through. How do I get rid of this gap?

why do all of my web pages automatically return to top of web page? Is this happening to a webpage that requires a cookie or cache? It is possible either cookie or cache is corrupted. Cookies are frequently used to manage your passwords securely.

The very top of web pages do not respond search engines and such. like face book cant use top messege or freind button it is same for all web sites.

if i were to use Google and look up something say i wanted a pic or video it wont work. or i search and want to search for something else i have to reset the web page. on any web page the top of the page does not respond for any function.
While i am here have another problem. I have had a h&r block website that auto loads from time to time. on its own now it is supposed to block pop up sites and this one gets threw. I do not want this its an aggravating.

Gaps in My Mobile Web Page...

Hey,
I've been building out a mobile website in Dreamweaver using the Jquery mobile starter page and then customizing the HTML and CSS myself. For some reason, there are these gaps in between my images that I can't seem to get rid of. I put the Padding and Margin of the Body at 0, and there is no padding or margins on anything on the page.

problem with issues like this is that much of the information out there
is misinformation.
I don't need to be sold on anything We do extensive usability testing.
So tell me, if you make a lovely little mobile site for smartphones, how
do you automatically direct smartphone users to the mobile site, and
tablet uses to the conventional site?

In Firefox 3.6 on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
Press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide.

The small gap at the top of the page

Theres a small gap in the top of the page, when I view it in
Layout View. Its got lines going across diagonally, and takes up
about half a centimeter from the top of the page. When I preview in
browser, my logo should be at the top left hand corner, but instead
theres a white gap going across the top. How do I get rid of this?

You need to zero out the margins and padding on the page.

How do I get my menu bar at the top of the page with no gaps? Whenever I move it there is a huge gap at the top of the page which I cant seem to get rid of, i posted about this before but none of the suggestions seemed to work for me. i'm not very good with css so im not really sure where to find the problem. There are generally gaps everywhere which looks at absolute mess, no clue how they got there and why, there is a huge gap underneath my menu bar too which wasnt there before. how do i get rid of this too? its probably some padding a or margin but no clue where.

How can I to return to the same position on a web page where I left it, rather than automatically getting returned to the top of the page?

It's annoying to keep returning automatically to the top of a web page that I often navigate away from--eg, Google News--rather than to the position I was at when I left it. I've looking over the Firefox settings and can't find where the default can be changed.

Try holding down the ALT key while you hit the left arrow key.
But in some cases, the webmaster may have configured the page to load from the beginning again. There's not much you can do about that unfortunately.

Go to the page you want to add.
when you hover the mouse curso over the address bar, a circle with a "sign" will appear ...
Click on it and keep the mouse button pressed.
A list should appear, just select "Top Sites" ...
That's it !

While looking at web pages like ebay and i click on a item to look at and then i click back page , the page starts at the top of the page instead of starting back at the item i was looking at. My Mac book pro will go back to the item i was looking at .

From time to time Firefox will not allow me to scroll down a web page, when I scroll down it will jump right back to the top of the web page. Any ideas?

Sometimes when on firefox when I try to scroll down a web page it will immediately jump right back to the top of the web page as soon release the mouse button. When it starts happening it will do this on all open tabs on all web sites.
Just closing Firefox and reopening it does not help, only way I have found to fix this is to reset my computer.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can check for problems caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and possibly downgrade to Flash 11.2 or 10.3.

Why in the world would Apple make the track pad LESS useful in OS Lion? I hate that I can't g back to the top of a web page with a singe swipe. And of course all the other gestures are totally reversed. IMHO, this was not an imporvement.

No one here works for Apple.
Go to System Preferences > Trackpad > Scroll & Zoom, and uncheck Scroll direction: Natural.

Safari. When going back on a web page, why does that page start at top?

Hi, new to Apple and macbooks etc, but bought a new Macbook Pro and very happy I am with it too.
However, one thing with Safari bothers me. When I am on eBay for instance and have scrolled halfway down a page, I then click a link that takes me to whatever, within the same tab. When I then want to return to the previous page, at the same point that i left it, i.e halfway down the page, when I do this it always opens at the top of the page and I have to scroll down again and find the place I was before.
Hope this makes sense and someone can answer why this happens or offer a solution to stop it from happening. (pretty sure it doesn't happen in firefox but I don't really use that now.)

Do you mean opening a link to one of your pages or opening an external link?
Can you go back properly if you open the tab history via the right-click context menu or by holding down the left mouse button on the Back button?
You may need to reload your web page(s) and bypass the cache if you've made changes to files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

On the top of any web page, the hot spots will not work. It seems like the links in the header part of a page is turned off.

On any web page (Facebook, Yahoo, this page) the links on the top of the page will not work. The hot spots seem dead. For this page the Desktop/Mobile/Firefox Home links will not work.

The Yahoo Toolbar has been reported as causing that. Disable it or uninstall it.
