UOM conversion problem when issuing material against BOM

Hi All
I have a material which is part of a production BOM.
The base UOM is EA.
The issuing UOM is KG.
I have a UOM conversion of 20 KG = 1 EA.
In the BOM I need to issue 0.034 KG.
When backflushing happens, it issues 1 EA.
Why is it not issuing in KG?
This is a problem because in effect i have now issued 20 KG instead of 0.034 KG!
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Deidre

Dear All
Thank you for your input. I have double checked and everything in the BOM header and component level is KG, and the plant/storage location data is also KG. The only place the EA appears is in the base uom.
I suppose the biggest mistake is that the material should have been created with base UOM of KG, but it's too late to change it now, which is why I hoped the UOM conversion would have taken care of that.
@Mario, i was actually trying to post 0.034 KG, which then got posted as 1 EA.
Thanks
Deidre

Profit center DUMMYBAOPC cannot receive postings in company code MT50.
this profit center DUMMYBAOPC we use in old compnay code and for this new company code is not activated  for new we have new profit center  then it is  linking to that  what can be the solution.

  • UoM conversion error while loading Material Master

    Hi,
Our Legacy system is also SAP (lower version) and we're trying to move the data to ECC6.0. We're using MATMAS_MASS_BAPI03 to move Material master records.
All the Alternative UoM to be moved with 'no change'. Everything gets moved except for LBs and FT3s and we get message 'UoM Conversions are inconsistent'.
I entered LBs, for example, online in the new system and found that conversion factors (NUmerator and Denominator) were indeed different.
    Legacy LB:  Numerator - 4756 and Denominator - 65113
New System LB: Numerator - 2564 and Denominator - 35103
If you have noticed, we will get the same result if you divide Numerator by Denominator.
Note: KG values were same in the both systems without any issue.
What should we do to get it right?
    Best Regards,
    Ram

    Hi,
While loading attributes U have to select the transfer structure of the 0MATERIAL_ATTR then activate it..now proceed if it is already replicated in to BW system... other wise first do that..then go ahead....Similar to Text also...

  • Character conversion problems when calling FM via RFC from Unicode ECC 6.0?

    Hi all,
I faced a Cyrillic character convertion problem while calling an RFC function from R/3 ECC 6.0 (initialized as Unicode system - c.p. 4103). My target system is R/3 4.6C with default c.p. 1500.
The parameter I used in my FM interface in target system is of type CHAR10 (single-byte, obviously).
I have defined rfc-connection (SM59) as an ABAP connection and further client/logon language/user/password are supplied.
The problem I faced is, that Cyrillic symbols are transferred as '#' in the target system ('#' is set as default symbol in RFC-destination definition in case character convertion error is met).
Checking convertions between c.p. 4103  and target c.p. 1500 in my source system using tools of transaction i18n shows no errors - means conversion passed O.K. It seems default character conversion executed by source system whithin the scope of RFC-destination definition is doing something wrong.
Further, I played with MDMP & Unicode settings whithin the RFC-destination definition with no successful result - perhaps due to lack of documentation for how to set and manage these parameters.
The question is: have someone any experience with any conversion between Unicode and non-Unicide systems via RFC-call (non-English target obligatory !!!), or can anyone share valuable information regarding this issue - what should be managed in the RFC-destination in order to get character conversion working? Is it acceptable to use any character parameter in the target function module interface at all?
    Many thanks in advance.

    hey,
I had a similar experience. I was interfacing between 4.6 (RFC), PI and ECC 6.0 (ABAP Proxy). When data was passed from ECC to 4.6, RFC received them incorrectly. So i had to send trimmed strings from ECC and receive them as strings in RFC (esp for CURR and QUAN fields). Also the receiver communication channel in PI (between PI and  RFC) had to be set as Non unicode. This helped a bit. But still I am getting 2 issues, truncation of values and some additional digits !! But the above changes resolved unwanted characters problem like "<" and "#". You can find a related post in my id. Hope this info helps..

  • UOM Conversion problem

    Hi,
I have a scenario where in Depending upon the specific gravity the conversion factor of UOM changes
Say today,1.5 Ltrs of oil is 1Kg depending on specific gravity
Tomorrow the same 1.5 Ltrs of oil might be only 900 grms or more again depending on specific gravity.
How can we handle this problem?
we have this sceanrio coming in oil production,Production unit is in liters but packed and sold in Kgs
It will be of great help,if i can get any inputs on this
    Thanks.
    W.Raghuram

    Hi Raghuram,
    Let me know
    1. If you are handling the material in Batches.
    2. If you are using only two alternative units of measure.
If your answer yes, definitely you can do this through Batch Specific Unit of Measure. You can go through the IMG Logistics General --> Batch Management --> Batch Specific Unit of Measure. You just go through the help document provided and let me know if you have any problems.
After Configuration you need to create the Charecteristic, Class and assign the same in the Material Master. You will get additional tab Proportional / Product Unit in Material Master Additional Data, there you need to specify the standard conversion.
If your answer is no for the above two points, then this functionality only be done in IS-OIL Module. In standard R/3 it is not possible.
I hope I have cleared your points.

  • Color space conversion problem when importing JPEG's

    Hi,
I'm currently playing with the trial version of LR. While importing JPEG's with different color spaces (sRGB and Adobe RGB) to LR I've noticed a strange effect: There is a small but noticable difference in color, depending if the JPEG was previously saved in AdobeRGB, or sRGB. All the images I've tested so far should not contain critical colors that exceed normal sRGB. When opened in CS2 both versions of a JPEG, AdobeRGB and sRGB, typically look perceptually identical, no matter if I leave the sRGB image to sRGB, or convert it to the working space (AdobeRGB). Also my color-managed image viewer behaves as it should. So I don't think it's a matter of the different color spaces.
Looking at the imported images in LR I would say that the AdobeRGB image is correctly converted while the sRGB image suffers from a slight reddish cast, most noticable in skin tones. The effect is not as strong as if I would load the sRGB image into CS2 and skip color conversion to my working space (AdobeRGB).
The sRGB versions of the JPEG's were obtained from the AdobeRGB JPEG's using CS2 for conversion.
Anyone else here experienced a similar problem? Is this a bug in the xRGB-to-ProPhotoRGB conversion of LR, or a feature?
    /Steffen

    Hi Uli,
thanks for pointing me to your thread. I followed the discussion with great interest. Actually, I think the effect I am describing here is of different nature and a LOT stronger, at least for the type of images I've tested.
I did some more experiments yesterday with interesting results:
    1) When I export a processed RAW from LR to JPEG or PSD, no matter what Color Space (I tested AdobeRGB, sRGB and ProphotoRGB), and re-import those JPEG/PSD's to LR, they look absolutely identical to the RAW I started with. Also, at first glance, they look similar when opened in CS2, but only because I tested with color images. I can indeed see small differences when testing with B/W, as you described in your "Color management bug" thread.
    2) When I change the color space of an PSD or JPEG inside CS2 (I used the default setting 'relative colorimetric') and save it to JPEG and then import this JPEG to LR, colors are far off. The strength of this mostly reddish color cast depends on the color space of the imported JPEG, strongest for Prophoto, less strong for Adobe and sRGB. Interestingly, when I convert the color space inside CS2 and save the result to PSD, it will display correctly when imported in LR. Another interesting side effect: the thumbnails of LR-exported JPEG's in the "Open" dialogs of CS2 and LR (I guess those are not color-managed) show the typical color-flatness for the Adobe and even more the ProPhoto version. For the CS2-converted JPEG's, all thumbnails look just a colorful as the thumbnail of the sRGB version.
    3) Such an image which doesn't display correctly in LR will keep its color cast when exported again to a JPEG (not sure about PSD). So something goes wrong with the color conversion during the import of such CS2-converted images.
My explanation so far is that CS2 uses a slightly different way of coding the colorspace information in the metadata of JPEG's which somehow prevents LR to recognise the color space correctly.
    Can you confirm this behaviour?

  • Problem when creating material master data

    Hi,
I use MM01 to create a material master data and save it, the system appears the material created successfully. But when I use MM03 to display the material, the system appears no this material exists in the system. I use ST22 find some runtime error:  "Insert into MARA values MARA" .
How can I solve this problem?
    Fiona Zhang

    Hi,
Have you executed the MARA table by material name.
Then try with MARA-ERNAM field. Enter ur user id and then execute. lets see whether it is really created or not in ur system.
If u dont find any material created by ur name then go to SO01 transaction and check ur inbox....U will find some mails like update terminated.
U can talk to ABAPer to get this resolved.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • PO UoM conversion problem

    Hi,
    I have the following scenario:
    - sales unit for material is PAC
    - order unit is PAL=42PAC
    - in material master, purchasing tab, the variable order unit is set to active, which should allow also the using of sales unit as order unit.
Sales order and PR were created with quantity 50PAC but when converting the PR to PO with ME59, PO was created with quantity 1PAL. When trying to change the quantity to 50PAC it seems possible until pressing Save, which is when I get an info message "Language not allowed" and on enter, an error msg "System error (error in method PO_POST)". No subsequent docs exist for the PO.
Where does this error come from and how can it be fixed?
Thanks a lot in advance for any help.

what language do you have in the vendor master?
is your material text and all the customizing (inlcuding units)  translated in that language too?
The language in vendor master is meant to be the language in which you want talk to your vendor, e.g. a language that you should be able to talk. It is not meant that you enter the language there that is spoken in the country of your vendor.
did you change the order unit in the info record? if you had already procured this material at this vendor, then an info record exists, hence a change in material master will not effect existing data,  the info record need to be changed manually too.
Same if you have already a contract that is referenced in your PO.

  • Character set conversion problem when importing application with script.

Our database has character set: WE8MSWIN1252
We have a region with the following title: Kopiëren. The ë is stored as character 235 in the database.
When I make an application export the file is in UTF-8. The ë is now stored as hex C3 AB in this file.
When importing the application using the Apex tool, the ë is again stored as character 235 in the database.
In our installation script we use some code to load the application. It look something like this:
    declare
    begin
       -- Determine workspace ID
       apex_application_install.set_workspace_id(l_workspace_id);
       -- Determine app ID
       apex_application_install.set_application_id(l_app_id);
       apex_application_install.generate_offset;
       apex_application_install.set_schema(l_schema);
       apex_application_install.set_application_alias(l_schema);
       l_app_id := apex_application_install.get_application_id;
    end;
@..\apex\f200.sqlThis works fine except that no character set conversion takes place. The UTF-8 character is placed in the database so our region has as title: Kopiëren
Is there a way to fix this?

    Hi Rene,
The character set portion of your local NLS_LANG environment variable should be AL32UTF8, and this should be set prior to you importing your application via SQL*Plus.

  • Default valuation type when issuing material or Creating Delivery

    Hi,
We have some material manage with valuation type  X,   Y,  Z   while creating PO  we are entering Valuation type in PO as per requiremtn   but i want that  whenever we issue the material  with 201   or creating delivery of that material with VL01N or VL02N  default valuation type should be    'Y'  so how to set this as default.
    regards,

You will need to create a stock determination strategy and stock determination rule  and assign it to the material master.
    use TCODE : OSPX.

  • Problem when filling material configuration from webmethods

    Hi,
We are using Webmethods SAP adapter to create a sales order using BAPI. The order is getting created but I was not able to see the configuration of the material. But when I try it in SAP it is working fine and I am getting the configuration. Please suggest me what I should do.
    Thanks,
    Sarath.

    Hi Brijesh,
Check the Number Ranges maintained for reservations and PRs..generated for Network. There is some inconsistency in your system in retriving from the data base in T-code CJ20N . This type of errors occur for different T-Codes like CJ20N, ML81N....
Check the SAP Notes relevant to the error message in CJ20N.

  • Multiple times Issue of material against same Sub. con. PO

    Hi,
I have one issue,  we have created one Sub contract PO, and we have done MB1B ref. to PO and Challan is created by one user,  and when another user comes he has also issue the material in MB1B against same PO and created Challan  even thpugh  the full PO qty. is transfer in first MB1B and challan,  so How to set error message for this onece the full qty. of material issue against one order next time when user try to issue material gainst same PO user should get the error message.
    regards,
      zafar

It can be restricted to some extent  if child materials in BOM is batch activated.
    or
Restrict p.o authorizatin to single user,he should lock p.o line items once materials are issued using challan.
Since there is no control in MB1B/Challan creation until material is goods receipted.

    Hi Madhesh,
there are many loop holes to issue excess stock against production order
