Update Apps issues

3 Major issues:
1. Application updates don't work really, because it's considered a new App.
2. You get charged for every update (whatever you paid before, you pay again)
3. App store has no recognition that you already bought the apps.
...Although this could be something totally different:
I recently changed my credit card info (But not my apple account info or email address).
-I think we need serious brains for this one. Any apple Gurus out there anymore, Or did they all run to Linux?

I am having a similar problem.
Easy Wi-Fi for AT&T iPhones is a free app that I downloaded a while back. I get notifications on my iphone & itunes that there is an updated version (3.0) available. However, if I try to update on the phone it says the item is currently being modified please try again later. If I try it on itunes, the program states that I currently have no programs available for updating , even though I have an alert down at the bottom of the screen indicating I do.
I am afraid to try and download this individually as it is no longer a free version as it was when it was introduced. I don't use it enough to make it worth the $2, but I do use it.
Besides just deleting it altogether to stop the alerts, does anyone else have any suggestions?

  • Updating apps issue (3/26/2015): verified work-around

If you have the issue where the App Store on your iOS device is displaying an OPEN button rather than an UPDATE button, here is the current work-around. Thanks go to "jguchte2" from the following topic https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6593179?start=15&tstart=0
    jguchte2 wrote:
    "Force-close the App Store app
    Open the App Store app
The app starts at the tab "Featured"
Now comes the tricky part: press the "Updates" tab and immediately the "Update All" button. Apps should now be updating."
In addition, I myself have found the following...you need to let at least one app update completely for the issue to clear. If you have multiple devices, you need to do the same procedure for each device. Clearing it on one device has NO effect on other devices you may have, despite logging out/logging back in to your App Store account.

Well, despite this work-around initially working, the App Store and it's problem with updating apps has once again returned after working for about 1/2 hour. I'm not going to fool with this anymore as it seems to be totally on Apple's end. If I need an app updated, I'll do so through iTunes and sync the updated app over to the device.
Hopefully, Apple will resolve this in a decent time frame.

    Hello Mac Friends!
    Need some help here!
After installing 3 updates from the "software update" app today (June, 11th) my macbook doesn' t initialize anymore.
Is there someone who can help me fix this issue?
    Why this is happening?
    How can i fix it?

Prevention and taking a more proactive approach to system maintenance and repair, rather than fixiing a problem (likely pre-existing?) format the drive or partition and reinstall 10.8.1 and restore from backups.

  • Keynote remote will not pair with ipad after update to 10.7.2-bluetooth issue or remote app issue?

Noticed keynote remote will not pair after updating.  Bluetooth light flashes a couple of times then goes off.  I'm wondering if it's a bluetooth issue or a keynote remote app issue.
    Any suggestions or remedies?
    thanks

    Then again, it may not.
I've tried all the things recommended in the Apple KB article, and it doesn't work.  Mulderscully is right, in the recent iOS 5 upgrade, Bluetooth is not turned on (at least, its symbol is not visible) from within Keynote even if you turned it on in the Settings menu.  Posts in another thread recommended using another app to establish a Bluetooth connection between the iPad and iPod (I used Touch Rummy), then switching back to Keynote and Keynote Remote.  This does work for me, but it is an awkward workaround.  Shouldn't 'It just work'?

  • IOS 7 App Store Updates/Badge Issue

My app store has a notification badge that says I have updates, but when I open the app store and click "updates," it quickly shows me the apps, and then, one second later, the screen says that all of my apps are up to date. Is anyone else having this problem?

Resurrecting old thread, but I'm having the same problem on multiple devices.
More specifically, I am updating apps via cable sync from desktop Itunes. The apps are updated on the devices via the cable sync, but the counter stays there. As noted in the original post, when I open app store app on device, the apps needing update will first show Update next to them, then quickly change to Open, but the counter remains.
    Iphone 6, iOS 8.1.2
    Ipad 2 iOS 8.1.2
    Iphone 5 iOS 8.1.2
I called Apple service (my iPhone 6 is still under warranty), they had no clue what was happening. All they did was told me to call them back another day and gave me a case ID.
I have rebooted devices and restored them both as new and from backup. When the restore is done, the counter goes away, but then when a new app needs updating, it happens again.
Anyobody having this issue recently and fixed it? It's very annoying.

  • Multiple issue: Newly created passwords don't work/ can't update apps.

My issue is more with my apple i.d. than with my devices, which are an ipad 3 and an iphone 4 (will be upgrading soon).  A few weeks ago, an icloud message popped up asking for my password.  When I entered my password, it didn't work.  I tried my password in several other places and it wasn't working, so I went into iForgot and changed it.  It still wasn't working, so I tried changing it again, still no luck.  This cycle continued for some time, recreating my apple id password over and over.  I am using the same apple i.d. that I was before, but I had to change my gamecenter id, losing access to some games.  My biggest concern is that I can get into the app store to see my account, but I can't update apps on either device.  It doesn't say that I have the incorrect password, try again.  It just does nothing.  When I look at my account settings, I see that there is a password already in place (a previous password, can't see the digits, only the number of characters), but it is not the new one I created.  When I try to put mine in it just reverts back to the old password, still leaving me unable to update my apps.  About a week after this started, my wife and I noticed a dollar charge to our itunes account that we didn't do, we investigated and found out that my itunes account had been hacked.  Apparently, the scam works when a small charge goes through and then once it does, much more is spent on itunes.  I took my card off file and am waiting to get my apps updated, before I enter a new one.  There are numerous issues happening and I'm not really sure where to begin.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you haven't been able to log into or use certain Apple services that require an Apple ID.

  • Apple ID/ updating apps / icloud issues

Ever since I upgraded to the latest version I appear to have two Apple IDs. One works perfectly to update certain apps on the ipad, the other one is registered to the same email account and gives me issues all the time. I don't even know how I got to two IDs.
I cannot use icloud as it's asking for my Apple ID but it won't let me change it, and it doesn't accept either of the two passwords.
In iTunes I'm being told that I'm not authorized to sync certain apps but when I allow the store to sync it I get the message that the computer has already been authorized.
    What is going on here???

The problem is the two Apple IDs.  The issue is that all items obtained from the iTunes Store are PERMANENTLY associated with whatever ID was originally used to obtain the items.  Unfortunately, Apple IDs can not be merged and purchases can not be transferred from one to another.
Decide which Apple ID you really want and get into the habit of using it for EVERYTHING.  The only issue you will have is updating apps when you're logged into the "wrong" ID.  If you update from within the computer's iTunes, you need to log out and back in, do the update and, log out/in again to get back to the primary ID.  If you update from the iPad, there is no need to log out/in but you do need to know the correct password.
Also confirm that the computer is authorized to use both IDs.
I changed the password on one ID so both passwords are identical (it just makes it easier for me).  Go here to manage that AND to investigate to determine if you have a third ID!

  • Issue with Updating Apps through iTunes

I have been having this issue for sometime now, and through multiple versions of iTunes. Whenever I open up iTunes and see that there are apps that I need up update, i'll click on applications, ill go and click update apps, I'll see the apps that need to be updated and ill click update. I put in my password, but when I do that, I get an error saying:
We could not complete your iTunes store request. There is not enough memory available.
There is an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
Obviously I have enough memory and space on my computer, but not sure if this is an error with the store itself or with my computer some how. I can download new apps with out a problem, purchase anything and download anything through iTunes, even after that error pops up, but I just cant update any apps. I can update them on my phone, and if I sync my phone with iTunes, and then try updating apps that might not be on my phone when I updated them, it will work then. Not sure what would cause this, and its not that big of a deal, just an annoyance and something I find a bit odd.
Thanks for any info and advice.

What part of no wifi did you not understand?
I'm well aware that I can update through the app store, if you had read the original question properly you would see that.

  • My wife and I have separate email accounts and separate iTune accounts on my iMac.  Having Apple ID issues.  My wife's ID pops up when I try to update apps or purchase music

I have a 4s, my wife has a 4.  I have an iMac and we both have our own email addresses and separate Apple IDs. Lately, whenever I try to update an app, my wife's Apple ID pops up and no matter what I try - new passwords, turning phone on&off, ect., nothing changes. I find this iCloud to be confusing and have not signed up for it, but it little popups keep referring to it.  I want my iRelated stuff to be mine and hers to be hers.  Help! Thank you

Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, and all future updates will require you to enter the password associated with this ID, whether you are using this ID for app purchases or not.  If you are seeing your wife's Apple ID when you update apps, you must have one or more apps on your phone that were purchased with her ID.  The only way to stop the prompt for your older ID is to delete these apps from your phone and not transfer them back when you sync your phone with iTunes.

  • IPad App Store not downloading updated apps

I have an iPad 3 64GB that has been updated to iOS 8. In the last two days, the App Store will not download updated apps. It shows them with a red number, but when I click on Update, I get the circle with a square in the middle but then nothing proceeds. If I go to the individual app, it says "waiting…" but if I click it, it does not change to "paused" as it used to when waiting was shown.
My iPhone 5S is not having a problem, nor is iTunes on my computer.
Sometimes, if I sync the iPad with iTunes, the updated apps will copy over to the iPad, but not every time.
I have done a forced restart on the iPad and have also done a Reset All Settings under the General setting.
It appears that something has gone wrong with the App Store app. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to fix this short of restoring the iPad to new status and reinstalling everything?

    Hi,
Try deleting the apps with the issue from iTunes, and then download and update them again.

  • Why am I being charged to update apps that I know were free?

I have several apps that I've downloaded that I know are free 100% and even ones I've had for years, but since updating to a whole new phone, things aren't acting right. Every time I try to update these apps, I get this thing where I have to sign in to my account to view settings. Then when I do it says my info is wrong, but it's not. And even if I cancel the updates it's been charging me $1.75 each time! So now I have $12.25 in charges just to update apps that are free! So wth?!
The apps are: Dragon Skies, Action Bowling Free and Breeding Guide for DragonVale.

    Go here:
