Update command overwrites 1st record in mysql database

hi
I'm having a bit of a problem with a form I created in livecycle designer.
I have connected the form to a MySQL database.
whenever I try to update a record , retrieved via navigation buttons or search box, the 1st record in the mysql database is overwritten.
I'm using the xfa.sourceSet.DataConnection.update() with and an click event
I have my Stay BOF and Stay EOF set on the data connections.
I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.
The forms Data connections are using sql select query because the table in the database has an auto incrementing column.
any suggestions you guys provide will be appreciated.

Guys, I am still racking my brain. I have taken some screenshots to show you how I have my database tables set up. I was able to get the tables over to the InnoDB type so I can make foreign keys. Here is how I currently have them setup, can someone check this out and see if it's correct?
Table 1 (carinfo)
Table 2 (images)
Thanks

  • Updating data from multi record blocks and database

    Hi

    One thing you need to understand about the basics of a block:
    If it is a block based on a database table you do not need an external INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE statements from a button or anything.
    Users can change the data retrieved from the database and just press save (which includes only commit_form built in).

  • Mysql database, counting records

    Hi!
    I have to store measured data to MySQL database. During this process I would like to count a number of records in a database table. It is also necessary to filter records. I'm using the SQL statement as follows:
    SELECT COUNT (fieldname) AS cnt FROM table WHERE condition
    Because I haven't got any result I've created a small database "mysweetdb" and table "icecream" to test my VIs (see picture bellow).
    The VI is attached. The result of counting is a 2D array (DB Tools Fetch Recordset Data.VI output) with one element (one row and one column). This element contains no data.
    I usually don't give up easily so I've created a similar MS ACCESS database and counted data in it. I've got a correct answer: 3. So it might be possible that there is something wrong with MySQL driver. But I've created a small Delphi project and I've counted records in MySQL database and MS ACCESS database. Both results were correct.
    Can anyone explain where is the problem in communication between LabView and MySQL database?
    Versions: XAMPP for Windows 1.7.3, LabView Developer Suite 2010 SP1, MySQL 5.1 ODBC driver
    Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

    ContDivConsult,
    thank you for your answer. An updated version of my VI is attached. It uses two options: LabSQL library and DB Connectivity Toolkit. LabSQL gives correct results.

  • Master data update bringing in multiple records for single entry

    Hello,
    I found that if I deleted and reloaded data in a master data object, it was showing me correct number of records. However, just a full update was not overwriting it with correct number of data records. there were always 1 or 2 extra blank records. I thought master data update should overwrite previous records and we need not delete and reload it.
    Why would this happen?
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
    Are you refering to time dependent master data? From to values are present?
    If so, that's the correct situation, since BW (OLAP) instead of R/3 (OLTP) allows you to mantain historical data, i.e., a material can be valid from a specific time period with several attributes and other attributes can be valid for the same material in another time space.
    Diogo.

  • I want to update, not overwrite my database!

    Morning all,
    In Dreamweaver CS4 - I've managed to insert data from my Repeating Region using Dynamic Checkboxes and Text Fields into my MySql database (thanks again to www.DwFAQ.info) , but when I go to insert another/new record, the checkboxes are already selected and the text from the previous entry is showing in the text fields.
    Obviously the dynamic fields are reading the data that is already in the database, but how do I send the data from the form to the database, then clear the form for the next use?
    I want to update my database with football player stats, and display the running total of games played, goals scored etc on another page, so I need to update the database each time I input data, not overwrite the previous entry.
    Should I be looking at the Dynamic input from Dreamweaver, or the MySql data/functions side of things?
    Any help or general pointers would be much appreciated!
    Many Thanks
    Andy

    I am still not clear on the total design and workflow.
    I would envision a design like this with 3 tables
    Player
    Match
    Player_Match
    The Player table stores details about the player not related to any specific match
    The Match table stores details about the match not related to a specific player
    The Player_Match stores details about a player for a specific match. This would include foreign keys to the other two tables and include attributes like cards, goals_scored, assists, time_played, no_show, etc.
    Is this your concept? Are you updating any stats during the game or after the game is complete. If the latter, then you won't really be updating those rows.  If the former, the workflow would be:
    Before each game: Insert a new Match row for a new Match. Insert new Player_Match rows for each player as they enter the game using insert behavior. Use the update behavior to update the Player_Match row when there is a goal, card, etc.
    >Do I need to send the data from the input form somewhere else,
    >which will then update the database, and then the form will be clear
    >again when I go into it, or is it to do with the Update/Insert functions in Mysql
    Again, if you are using the DW Insert behavior, all of the fields should be cleared. If using the update behavior, they should be populated. We may still not be understanding each other.

  • Updating a MySql database

    Hello everyone,
    I am trying to update a MySQL database using powershell.  Here is the code;
    $prodid=30
    [void][System.Reflection.Assembly]
    ::LoadWithPartialName("MySql.Data")
    $constring="server=localhost;uid=****;pwd=*****;database=random;Pooling=False"
    $mysql=New-ObjectMySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlConnection($constring)
    $mysql.Open()
    $command=$mysql.CreateCommand()
    $command.CommandText
    ="UPDATE
    products SET (products_status = 0) WHERE products_id like 30";
    $command.ExecuteNonQuery()
    $command.Dispose()
    $mysql.Close()
    what I get in return is the following error;
    ERROR: Exception calling "ExecuteNonQuery" with "0" argument(s): "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server
    ERROR: version for the right syntax to use near '(products_status = 0) WHERE products_id like 30' at line 1"
    products_status is a TINYINT(1) value and products_id is a INT(11) value.  Now I know adding a NEW database entry with a field being an INT value you do not have single quotes or double quotes otherwise you'd get the same error.  So I thought UPDATING
    an existing record would follow the same rules, but NOPE it didn't work.  So then I tried single quotes and double quotes and still have the same results.
    Anyway, if someone knows how to update a TINYINT value from powershell, that would be great!  Thanks everyone.

    Hi NeoTrin,
    Thanks for your sharing =)

  • MySQL database record hits counter?

    Can I find out how many times a record from the MySQL databse was called and displayed on a web browser?Basically a MySQL database record hits counter. I’m using PHP/MySQL.

    >to the two files that were created
    >Two files?
    Yes 2 files. In Dreamweaver CS3 & CS4 When using the "Insertà Data Objectsà Master Detail Page Set" function you must create two files:
    1. results.php
    2. detail.php
    It appears that these two files work together hand in hand. You did not specify where nor how to include an update record set that gets executed every time another record set that I want to count fires. So I combined the two as one until it was clarified.

    how can i do it easily plz reply me as soon as possible.

  • How to Insert a record into a MySql database.

    Hi,
    In an earlier question I was advised to use the Adobe extension to get access to database connectivity and server behaviours.
    That extension is now installed. Whether it is functional is another question.
    To chewck it out I follwed exactly the steps set out in Lessons 5 and 6 of Dreamweaver CS5 with PHP
    When trying to make a database connection I am still getting the 404 error I mentioned in an earlier email. However if I type the database name (phpcs5) into the “select database” box and test it says I connected successfully and I can see the user’s table in the database panel.
    So far apparently so good.
    I have created the cs5wtite and cs5read connections to the phpcs5 database
    I set up the insert record behaviour using “Form1!, “cs5write”, “users”,
    Everything went as per the manual, the file turned aqua in Live view.
    I entered data and ctrl/clicked “Sign me up” button and nothing happened.
    No data was entered into the database and I was not passed to login.php.
    I deleted everything from the computer, restarted the pc and started again from scratch.
    The result was the same. Nothing
    My one concern was line 49  $insertGoTo = " login.php";
    The file is in registration so I changed to $insertGoTo = "registration/login.php";
    but that made no difference.
    Is there any logging or error reporting I can use to see where it is going wrong?
    This is the add user page generated

    Hi,
    Thanks for the test.
    I used your amendment but still got nothing, no record in database and not sent to login page..
    I also tried this code below. It returns "Record added to database" but it was not.
    Something strange going on.

    $password = "Smp??2014";
    $database = "phpcs5";
    $server = "127.0.0.1";
    $db_handle = mysql_connect($server, $user_name, $password);
    $db_found = mysql_select_db($database, $db_handle);
    if ($db_found) {
    $SQL = "INSERT INTO users (first_name, surame, username, password) VALUES) VALUES ('Albert', 'Dent', 'hitchiker', 'space')";
    $result = mysql_query($SQL);
    mysql_close($db_handle);

  • Deleting and updating records in a database table

    dear all ,
    i have created a databse table to which i have to update and delete records thru my program whixh i am unable to do so plz help me.

    Hi Sonu,
    To delete and update the records in your database table, you can create a Function Group and all the necessary function modules for it. This will a good approach as this will separate the database interface logic and the business logic. You need to use the DELETE and UPDATE ABAP keywords to delete and update the records of the database tables. Have a look at the ABAP Keyword documentation for a complete details of the usage.
    Have a look at the following link:
    DELETE
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/Helpdata/EN/fc/eb3aef358411d1829f0000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
    UPDATE

  • Access is not inserting, updating or deleting records in my database table on the server

    I am having a problem with an application I developed using Dreamweaver 8 and Access 2000 several years ago which is no longer working correctly. The problem is that Access is not inserting, updating or deleting records in my database table on the server but is reflected in changes to my Web site. I used the Dreamweaver server behaviors: insert record, update record and delete record to make the changes to my Access table on the server. My Access table on the server shows all of the records I inserted or updated in the past, but not any of the newly inserted on updated records.
    does any one have any ideas as to what my problem is?
    Jim

    No, that has nothing to do with your problem. Let's make sure I understand the symptoms.
    1) Your site is online at a remote host.
    2) You use a dynamic page in your online site to update a database record (insert, delete, or update)
    3) The update then appears correctly on your dynamic content page.
    4) You download the mdb and it appears to not have any of the upates you just made.
    Please correct any of these statements if they are wrong.
    If the above is correct, then you must be looking at a cached mdb, or the mdb you are looking at is in the wrong location. Do this: search your entire drive for copies of the mdb, including in the Windows temp directories which is likely where the cached copy is located. Delete any extra copies and download again.

  • Recording events in mySQL database?

    I am new to Java and would like to know if the following can be done:
    We have a web page where the user chooses to watch different Windows Media Files using a Java menu system (not written by me).
    Is it possible to record what the user is doing (i.e. which media files they are choosing) in a mySQL database? I would normally do this with PHP, but as all the action is happening once the page has loaded I don't think that will work.
    Thanks in advance!

    Sure it's possible if you notice the events and can pass on the actions to a component that does the writing.
    You can do it in PHP - unless it uses some magic to switch the embedded movies somehow, a new page has to be requested for a movie. If it all runs within the applet (I hope that this is what you mean, and not Javascript) and you can't modify it, then you can't, unless you can convince your webserver to log to the DB.
