Update comments in Leave Process

Hi,
We are using the workflow WS12300111 for our leave process. Once, the leave is created it will routes to the approver for approval. Whenever the approver, Approve/Reject we have to get comments from the approver and have to update somewhere, I searched in the workflow container for updating the approver comments, but there is no option for updating comments.Is there any other way to store the comments without creating a new container element in the standard workflow WS12300111.

Is this a custom field (UD_ADUSER_MAIL_NICKNAME) which you created in the form? How about it's Update task in the provisioning process? You need to have the corresponding update task in the provisioning process and you need to attach the adapter there to make it flow to AD/Exchange.

Error while updating Date Field on Process Form.

Hi,
I am using java code to pre-pop date on the process form.First I used a java code whic took java.sql.date as input and returned the same java.sql.date.But it gave an error that:java.lang.String cannot be converted to java.sql.date.......
So I changed the java code and now it takes string as input and returns java.sql.date. This code works fine for Pre-pop adapter and the date is populated on the process form.
But when i use the same code in a Process Task adapter to update the date, then it gives the following error:

When an RFC fails from the portal to an SAP Backend, probably ECC 6.0 in your case, there are a few options that I use to troubleshoot:
      1. Ensure that all your jco's are set up ok, passwords, ect. JCOs do not appear to be the problem here
      2. Have an ABAP programmer review where the RFC is failing on the Backend System
      3. Set up an External Breakpoint in the backend RFC. Step to do this:
               a. Get the Backend UserID of a test portal user that is having this issue.
               b. Ensure that test user has "Debug Display" access in the Backend System
               c. Log into the Backend system, go to SE 37 and display your RFC
               d. Go to Utilities --> Settings --> Debugging in the top menu and add the Test User ID to the "Users" field.
               e. Set an external breakpoint any where you want in the RFC.
               f. Run the Leave request as the test user.
               g. a new SAP GUI screen will popup once it hits the breakpoint. The portal browser will stay frozen until you step thru the ABAP program.
Option 3 may sound like alot at first if you never used it, but if you are responsible for troubleshooting portal issues like this one, it is a skill you must have. You can also have an ABAP resource responsible for external debugging when you come accross issues like these. It helps you see exactly what data is being passed in from the portal and what is happening to cause the error.

Hi Rishit,
You can control it by BAdi WORKORDER_UPDATE method AT_SAVE make error message if there is any change in quantity.
Or you can create Transaction Variant through SHD0 for CO02 and make field Total Qty (CAUFVD-GAMNG) as output only.

Accessing web services for leave process

Hi,
We are looking to make a webesrvice for the leave process in ESS.
1. Are there any standard webservices that SAP provides for this process in ECC6? If yes, how do i access them in the portal?(I am unable to find the services in SICF)
2. If there are no standard webservices then i would like to make the BAPI's that SAP uses in the standard ESS package in portal and make them as web services. When i try to make it as a web service i get a error that web service cannot be created. Any pointers to resolve this error?
3. Is there any standard URL that i can pass in the portal for a WSDL system and access all the webservices available in ECC6 through thus URL.(Something like a web service repository).

Thanks a lot for you quick response. Thanks for the info while using a BAPI, will keep this in mind before we decide to use the BAPI. We are looking at the option of using Visual Composer for the development. We are triying to create the WSDL System as per you suggestion using the URL
http://<server>.<domain>:<httpport>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/webservicebrowser
But this system fails in the connection tests in the portal with the error message

Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct.
Iam sure of the user mapping because when i connect with the URL
http://<server>.<domain>:<httpport>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/webservicebrowser/search.html i get a page that shows a huge list of services.
But how can i access all these services in Visual Composer through a single system created in the portal?

Anyone know how to update page artwork leaving Form Fields where they were?

I set up my form fields just the right way and line them up right over where they are supposed to be, but the client makes a change to the artwork that the forms sit on.
Is there any way to just update the page leaving form fields exactly where they were?
As far as cutting and pasting to th enew pdf, thats too time consuming and there is no paste in place either. So I have to keep tapping them to back to where I put them the first time, but can’t do that every time not to mention it isn’t lockdown accurate and I have to make sure I have all the forms selected. Perhaps there is at least a Paste in Place for Acrobat plug-in somewhere, that would work.

Best would be to do the following steps-->
1) for the vendor user --> check the roles assigned
2) for each of the role which you have assigned to the vendor user ---> go to PFCG ---> enter your role
---> Click on display ---> go to authorization tab ---> click on display authorization data -->
find out --> SUS ---> access to documents in SUS -->
there will be one activity --> display prices ---> this should be disabled , then the button will not be shown.

Thanks for the straightforward tip. I had restarted once already, but the second time was a charm. The install button now works. Don't know if it mattered, but I also repaired disk permissions and then restarted in safe mode this time.
The printer driver is apparently a different issue in itself. It turns out that the my printer, the HP Deskjet F380, has some fluke that makes it incompatible in 10.6. A new driver is coming out from HP according to Rickmeister in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10076690&#10076690
In case anyone else has the same problem with the F380: Like the user in the aforementioned thread, I downloaded and installed the old HP drivers for 10.5, and now at least I can print in the meantime.

Failed to update comments table structure of ( AppSet - AppName)

Happy New Year Experts,
Version: BPC Netweaver SP6
I am having an issue with adding a dimension to an application. I am recieving the following error message:
Failed to update comments table structure of ( AppSet - AppName)
Here is the order of events that led me to this issue:
1. I created a "U" dimension
2. I created all associated properties for this dimension
3. I added the dimension to the application
4. I deleted the dimension
5. I re-created the dimension with the exact same name (this worked just fine)
6. When I add the dimension back to the application, I recieve that error message
I am not certain why this is happening, I can add a dim with a different name just fine, but I need\want to use the name that it is rejecting.
Any assistance that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I figured out that the issue with this error messaged related to the dimension name being a reserved word in BPC Netweaver.
The Dim name I was using was "Part".
Once I changed the dimension name, I was able to to successfully add the dim to my applicaiton.

Gah. So It looks like the first version of the song on your iPod is the definitive version of a song (as is the case in iTunes). So in order to ensure that the version you want plays, you have to:
1. make that the only version in iTunes (or first in the file structure)
2. update Genius
3. sync your iPod
BOO. Too much work (I'm still going to do it though...)
I would really like a feature that allowed you to specify which song would be chosen (the existing rating system would seem to be easiest).
Another solution I thought of still requires a lot of work. This is assuming you prefer It would go something like this:
1. Create an directory structure at the root of your library that would prioritize tracks, such as:
a) Albums (for full length albums)
b) Collections (for best ofs etc.)
c) EPs (for singles or remix albums)
e) Live Performances
-assuming you prefer album versions over remixes over live versions, or more directly:
a) High Priority
b) Low Priority
2. Place Each Album or individual tracks in their appropriate folder.
3. Reset your iPod
4. Sync
The directory structure will intrinsically place higher priority versions on you iPod first, making them a priority version there. Pain in the...
