Update Commision

Hi there,
got a close invoice, I realized that I puted a wrong Sales Agent. So I enter in the invoice and I change the Sales Person at document level, the application ask me if I want to update all the row I answer yes, everything change I press then the update button and the botton green line say "update succesfully...."
I go to the next record and then I come back, but just the Sales Person is change, not the % commission in the rows of the document.
How come? I did the same thru DTW, but same result, DTW tells me that the update is succesfully, but still the % commission dosn't change.
What's wrong?

the fact that the application dosn't give me back some kind of error or message but let me see that the info is changed, is source of misunderstanding for the end user.

    I have a table emp:
    empno number
    ,salary number
    ,comm number
    Now, the comm column is always a % of the salary column (but still would like to store the comm in the table as a column).
    Assuming that someone get a salary increment and I need to update the commission as well based on the new salary value, should I still use 2 update statements or is there anyway, I can achive in a single update clause itself?
    example:
    if the old values were:
    =============
    1234 10000 1000
    and if I do the following,
    update emp
    set salary = salary + 3000
    ,comm = salary * 10/100
    where empno = 1234;
    the comm value still points to the old salary value and the table looks like:
    emp:
    ===
    1234 13000 1000
    instead of:
    1234 13000 1300 (10% of the new salary - 13000)
    so, the only way to achieve this is to issue 2 update statements? Or is there any way of achieving in one single update statement? Please let me know.

    Or you could create a after update trigger on salary column that updates comm whenever Sal updates.
    What happens if someone else issues an update on salary and forgets to update the commission? Wont you have incorect data then?
    Also, commision is a redundant column . I dont think it is a good idea to have computed values as a separate column.

    Let me help explain what tags we have presently that provides details about webapp A and B.  It seems you might be slightly confused on the purpose of some of these tags and what they intend to output.

  • Photoshop after Latest CC updates is not working properly.

    I just installed CC Photoshop's latest update and now I'm totally out of commision.    Unable to work with any of my previous 3d projects.  They appear to load, but as soon as you select any object, it falls apart.  Objects go flat and rearrannged.   When createing new objects, such as 3D extrusion fonts,   they are flat.  Cannot distinquich the front from the sides.  There are no shadows.    When you click an object, the background dissappears.   When you try to move an object, it stutters and takes several seconds before the object moves.     In regular Photoshop when editing a previous projectl, for example, when setting a paint brush on a given area, an error message pops up says "Could not use the brush tool because the current time is outside the range for the target layer.    "Time"???    What is going on.    Does anyone know if I can uninstall and revert back to a previous project.  I've got work to do.   This is devesating!!   The list goes on.   When trying to create a depth map from a plane object, you'll get an unknown error and cannot get out of it unless you kill it from the Task Manager.    Please help!

    I would think you would first check to see if your video card has driver updates. Check the card maker's website to be very sure. Upgrade to the most current.
    If doing that does not fix it, then try this:
    Dial back your GPU settings (Preferences > Performance) from Advanced to Basic.
    If no luck, downgrade PS, if only to get your work done.
    You can download the Photoshop CC installer direct from ProDesign Tools.

    Follow the instructions carefully or the download link won't work.
    Uninstall your 14.2 version and using the downloaded CC installer, you should have 14.0.0
    I never did this before, but under Help > Updates make sure you don't update past 14.1.2

  • [ADF BC | ADF Faces] Updating a table with values updated in transaction

    Summary: A table is based on a view with a bind variable. Based on some action, I update rows in the view so that they no longer satisfy the query. How do I update the table to reflect this?
    I have an ADF Faces page with a multi-select table component on it, mapped to an ADF Business Components view object. The view object has a bind variable (:Status), which is used in the query to only retrieve rows with a specific status.
    The user selects rows in the table that should have their status changed, and then hits a button to perform the action. In the backing bean for the page, the button click is processed and the selected rows are updated to a different status. At this point the transaction is not committed.
    Changing the status of these rows now means that they no longer match the where clause of the view object, yet they still appear in the table.
    My question is, how can I update the table so that rows which don't match the where clause are removed?
    This is a simplified version of the problem I am working on - this needs to work when rows that aren't in the table are being updated so that they now MATCH the where clause and rows may also be added or completely removed.

    Quite an interesting little problem....
    I have created a simple test case to illustrate your scenario - perhaps Steve M could comment...
    My scenario:
    1). create an EO based on the HR.EMPLOYEES table
    2). create an updatable VO based upon the aforementioned EO. Add "COMMISSION_PCT IS NULL" to the where clause.
    3). Add the VO to an app module as usual.
    4). Create an ADF Faces page by dropping the VO from the data control as an ADF table. Show only first name, last name, and commission pct.
    5). Add a command button to the page so I can call various code from the backing bean.
    Now, when I update the commision for the first record to ".1" and press the submit button (the one in the table actions facet), the update "takes" - I assume that it's just in the EO cache at this point. The record still shows on the screen, even though it no longer meets the where clause criteria.
    When I add some code to the command button (#5) to perform a commit - the record STILL shows on the screen after committing to the DB. I can make the record disappear by either (in the same backing-bean method that does the commit)
    a). Re-execute the iterator after the commit
    b). Call "clearVOCaches" on the application module (forces the iterator to re-execute)
    I even tried programmatically adding the where clause back in (via addWhereClause) and re-executing the iterator - no go. I suspect that the only way to do this would be to post the changes to the DB (without committing them) and then re-execute the query. This, however, would be a killer from a scalability perspective.

    how likely is it that you missed a step in the tutorial (e.g. mapping the commission select box to the memory attribute, or setting the memory attribute to a viewScope)? From your description there is nothing that indicates the tutorial not to work. Optionally, send me a test case (your apps in a zip file renamed as unzip). My mail address is in my OTN profile.     I have the following multi-row form:

    1. Is it possible to modify the ApplyMRU routine to do this?
    2. If not, how would I go about submitting the ID and TRADE_GROUP_ID columns to a stored proc via an array from the APEX front end?
    3. Is there a best practice solution for my reports.
    I have some layout questions aswell, but I'll post those on a separate thread once the main functionality is working.

    You have access to the checked IDs using the apex_application.g_f01 array. You can pass it to your pl/sql ie:

    now you can just call your procedure with a process test(apex_application.g_f01);

  • Tecra M9-136 - BSOD during Vista SP2 update

    Tecra M9-136 asked this morning to update to Vista SP2 and during the process the BSOD 0x0000007E arrived. Restarted in Safe Mode and the installer continued and then finally reported that the update had failed - and reverted to SP1. This took most of the morning.
    It will start in Safe Mode but on a normal boot-up, Vista SP1 gets through the fingerprint recognition and then fails with the same BSOD (it doesn't get as far as displaying the desktop).
    The laptop has BIOS level 1.80. I've tried in Safe mode to install 1.90 but it tells me that the battery has insufficient charge and the power adapter isn't attached. Both untrue.
    Stuck - need advice. Could this be a hard fault? Can't see how I can update anything if it's a soft fault.

    The message with the BSOD mentioned checking BIOS and driver versions. Anyway, no change made to that.,
    I tried System Restore but the only available restore point was the SP2 installation. I thought Vista was supposed to save a restore point every 24 hours even if nothing new had been installed.

  • Cannot open and update IPhoto after upgrading to OXYosemite

    From the App store, I downloaded and installed OXYosemite. There are 2 more updates available: iPhoto and iMovie. When I try to upload them, the notice I get is "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID  This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."
    I have 2 apple IDs when I inquire about my ids. Signing in App Store with either of them, doesn't resolve the problem. I get the same notice. iTunes, Mac, mobile downloads, all use the same apple IP, only for the computer downloads from App Store isn't working.
    What should I do?

  • Error message: "playlists selected for updating no longer exist"

    I tried to update my ipod nano and I guess I had deleted a playlist, but since then, I have not been able to update. Every time I try, I get the following message:
    "Cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist."
    I haven't been able to highlight which playlists are selected to begin with.
    I read through the manual and thought that maybe rebooting the whole system might work. So I deleted Itunes from my computer and re-installed.
    Then I tried re-setting my ipod. So now I have nothing on my ipod.
    I also deleted everything from my library, thinking it might help to start from scratch. Nothing has worked.
    How do I "select" and "unselect" playlists so I can get up and running again?

  • Error message iPod cannot update b/c all of the playlists no longer exist

    Hello. I have been getting this error message. "Songs on the iPod "MAR(the name of my iPod)" cannot update because all of the playlists selecting for updating no longer exist." And my playlists are still on the left side in my iTunes. They do exist. I have a feeling ths might have to do with the fact that on vacation the person I was visiting gave me a gift of putting all of his music that would fit into the external hard drive part of my iPod, and for the past week or so I have been putting that music onto my 40 GB portable hard drive at home. I suspect I took a vital folder out of my iPod by accident. Right now I have the folder iPod_control if I open my iPod up in My Computer. Am I missing something? Right now my iPod is empty because iTunes made a composite playlist last week and I deleted it thinking I could get my real playlists back. Can you help me, or reccomend a site/someone who can? Thank you.

    And my playlists are still on the left side in my iTunes. They do exist.
    let's just doublecheck this. folks get this message if they have "automatically update selected playlists only" selected in their itunes "ipod" preferences tab. so bring up that tab ("edit > preferences", click "ipod" while the ipod is showing up in the source list), and do a playlist by playlist crosscheck of the playlists selected in that tab, and the playlists showing up in the itunes sourcelist.
    is there any playlist selected in the preferences tab that isn't showing up in the sourcelist?

  • Video IPOD no longer recognized by Itunes and wont Update

    This is a long complicated issue. My Ipod has been working flawlessly until 2 weeks ago. Someone tried to plug it up to their computer to charge it and it wiped out my library and added their library. At first i was thinking no big deal, i will just reconnect it with my computer and it will load my library back on. However once connected to my computer it is not recognized by itunes. So i did a reset , which seemed to be working great and it started "updating" about 80% through that process it gave me an error message that says " This disc can not be written to or written from" now I have no idea why it would say that? and although it seems completely wiped out and useless, it still shows that much memeory is missing in the "about ipod" screen on the ipod. So i know the information is there somewhere , somehow?... Anyway I dont know what to do, Does anybody have any suggestions?
    Oh and I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the Itunes program to make sure it is up to date. WOuld adding new songs to my library have caused this problem?

    1. Try Resetting the iPod. Hold Select and Menu for 6-10 seconds - until you see the Apple Symbol.
    2. Use iPod Updater to restore your iPod to factory settings.
    See if those two steps clear up your problem.

  • Error during OS 4.2 update; Ipod no longer recognized by windows or itunes;

    I've had my 3G 8gb since last Feb and never updated the OS (3.1.3). Yesterday I tried updating to 4.2. (OS: Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium; iTunes: 10.1.1.4) There was an error (unfortunately did not make a note of). Now my ipod touch is stuck in "Recovery Mode" and cannot be seen by Windows or iTunes. Windows does detect new hardware but when I browse for the drivers, I get the error "Could not find driver software" after I pointed exactly where it was located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support and C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. I've tried removing all Apple software from my computer and then reinstalling iTunes but I get the same results. I don't know what else to try. Any ideas? Thanks!

    I found a solution last night through http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538. But thank you for trying. The worst part was that I was doing the right thing all along but I think there is a bug in Vista (or I don't understand why I couldn't do it the way I was). On the window that appears after I clicked "Browse my computer for driver software", there are 2 options. The first says "Browse for driver software on your computer" which has an edit box under it and a "Browse" button next to the edit box which allows you to pick the parent directory that driver is in. The second option says "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer". I knew where the drivers were so I was doing option one and it would not work (many repeated attempts after re-installing iTunes, etc.) - VERY FRUSTRATING. But now I'm up and running!!!

    I have encountered an error while updating a plan. While i update the uplan , the grid gets filled but it throws a message stating
    "Maximum Number of Result Blocks has been reached"

    in BAM-Administrator you should rraise Parameter "MaxResultBlocks".
    BAM originaly is al licensed Software from Group1 named "Sagent Data Flow".
    This may help searching the web.
